I was referred to Jake the Plumber for a new water heater after ours went out, and we received an upfront quote for the job after sending in some pictures, which we thought was really convenient as it is hard for my wife and I to take time off our jobs. We are incredibly happy with the service provided and also the product we received for a fair price and quality work. Absolutely nothing has been a straightforward fix in our old house, but Rick was really knowledgeable and thorough in his explanation of everything he was doing. He was able to work with the quirks in our home, and was also incredibly helpful in referring us to some other service companies for different issues. My wife and I are not originally from the twin cities and this was our first “surprise repair” since we moved here, so all of this information and experience was especially valuable to us! We appreciate everything, and will for sure be returning customers without hesitation if we need it! Thank you!

Had a wonderful experience working with Jake and his staff. I had called around for a few quotes and Jake came back with a fair honest price that was less than others had quoted. He took the time to explain things to me and took a look at all of our plumbing to offer solutions and estimates. We called Jake the Plumber after a bad experience with a large plumbing company who had quoted us an outrageous amount for a kitchen faucet and disposal installation. Rich and Meyer came and installed the new faucet and disposal quickly and efficiently, all while saying great things about their employer and the company they work for. The work was 1/4 of the cost we were quoted from the other company, and I could not recommend them more! We will absolutely continue using them for any future needs!

Bought a house three years ago. The basement remodel failed to install a floor drain in the laundry room. I did some online research about costs and installation procedures.I contacted a few plumbers including Jake. All the others either didn’t respond or wanted $100 plus to “come and look at it”.Jakes got back to me quickly and asked for photos of the install area. They got back to me with a ballpark number which was reasonable. I knew that opening a concrete floor often presented surprises. Jake’s crew of 2 worked several hour in a wet clay base we found under the floor. They did a great job and the drain works perfectly. Jake’s charge was a few hundred dollars over the estimate ( Under $2000 total), but well within the cost info I found on line. If I need plumbing, Jakes is my first call.

We had an issue with our pilot light not staying lit on our water heater. I called Jake the Plumber at 9:00 AM and by 10:30 AM Stu arrived and was working on installing a new part - all under warranty. When we bought the water heater a year ago from Jake the Plumber we had an awesome experience (after a horrible experience with HERO Plumbing & Heating). Today was simply an extension of that great experience. Ironically enough, Stu is the same plumber who was here a year ago to install the product and he continues to be fabulous. If you are looking for great service and honest people who just want to do whats right, no games, Jake the Plumber is the way to go.

Great work by Jake the Plumber! We had a drippy faucet in the bathtub, Jake came out and gave us an estimate and we decided to have the work done. I was impressed with each person we met. Adam in the office was great and helped troubleshoot and scheduled same day service. Stu was professional, on time, wore shoe protection and wowed us with his knowledge. I will be calling for all future needs. We highly recommend Jake the Plumber.

I chose Jake the Plumber simply because I saw one of their vans at our neighbors house a couple weeks before. I believe our plumbers name was Rick. He was incredibly professional and personable. We had a drippy old spigot and the shut off valve to the outside water was also dripping in my basement. He explained to me exactly what he was going to do, discussed potential issues that may come up in the process, and in the end, delivered on his promises in a very timely manner. His work was super clean, my problem was solved, and I was better educated by the time he left. Also, the new spigot is much better than the one I had before. I would hire them again without hesitation!!

This was important to me and none of the other vendors I called would even tell me their hourly rate. These guys are fantastic! I called on Tuesday about a busted faucet, and they were able to schedule my repair for Thursday of the same week. I got a follow up call later that day from Paul to get more details and photos. On the call I mentioned I had a new toilet I needed installed, and he said they might have time to do it. On Thursday, Tim arrived right on time with a faucet ready to go. Once he got started, he noticed our ancient water valves didn’t have on/off knobs and offered to replace them. Very helpful! I never knew there weren’t knobs, so this could have been a disaster in the event of a leak. And he even had time to replace the toilet! Pricing was fair, invoice was easy to understand, Tim was friendly and quick.

I had a fairly urgent leak in a pipe from my boiler to a radiator. Jake himself came to my house the same day I called and repaired the leak quickly and corrected a previously bad installation. He explained everything so I could understand the issue, what was needed to correct it and also gave me many tips on maintenance. He was professional and thorough. Look no further. This guy and his team are amazing! We were dealing with an issue while trying to sell our home and Jake came out that day (after hours) to help us take care of what we needed! He then patiently explained the issue and potential concerns in laymans terms and offered multiple solutions and gave exact pricing! He was comprehensive and we felt assured the issue was put to rest but he didnt do anything that felt unnecessary and there were no surprise costs. We were lucky enough to get Jake himself and he is clearly very knowledgeable and competent so we could rest easy! He has been added to permanent contacts as I cannot imagine every going to anyone else!

Had my boiler serviced by Kelley from Jake the Plumber today...very happy with his work, and with the overall experience with Jake the Plumber!Kelley was very friendly and knowledgeable, and didnt seem to mind me being around, watching and learning...educating me a bit, answering questions. Also very friendly with our kids. Got our boiler back up and running after some efficient troubleshooting.After having called around to a lot of the other plumbing and heating companies, I was very turned off by the few bigger ones charging a hefty service call / travel fee (ranging from $68 to $149)...just to come out to see whats wrong / give you a price!...and then hearing in reviews they quote very hefty, flat-rate, non-transparent fees. I liked, first off, that Jake the Plumber charges hourly -- then you know how the pricing works before getting into it...and, for me, I dont mind being around to make sure they work efficiently, not working up the clock.To that end, I REALLY liked that they gave me the option to text or email photos of my boiler / the issues needing addressed, and Kelley was able to call me the evening before service to ask me more detailed questions and get an idea of what was up, giving me a ballpark range of how many labor hours the job should cost. They do have a $68 travel fee (halved when you commit to service)...but with that call from Kelley, I at least had an idea of what I was getting into -- enough to feel comfortable committing with the travel fee beforehand.He was running a little bit behind schedule after having to track down a unique part for my boiler but called before he was actually late to let me know, so I was never wondering (all fine with me).The only thing I would suggest / appreciate in the future using Jake the Plumber, is that they have a detailed list of parts on their invoices -- was left to Kelleys memory when I asked him how much all the parts were. But, all sounded about right, so I took his word for it.Very happy...boilers running better than ever! Thanks again, Kelley!Will definitely use one of their free quote Fridays for a new sump pump quote in the near future!

I called Jake the Plumber because of a pipe issue with my toilets. They were quick to get back to me & sent out Stu within a day. Stu was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helped em better understand what could be causing the pipe issue. Within 15 minutes we were able to get the toilet up and running again. The prices also are more competitive than some of the larger companies that overcharge. I recommend Jake the Plumber to anyone who needs plumbing. :)

Ill start by saying that I have not yet used Jake for our plumping issue, but the five stars are for the 20 minutes he spent with me on the phone. I called him from California to discuss a possible sewer problem on a home we purchased for my son in St Paul. Jake was absolutely wonderful in discussing possible fixes, keeping the cost as low as possible, and just all the time he spent with me on a busy work day. Ive been a home and business owner in California for over 45 years and have had a lot of interaction with plumbers, and none have been so pleasant and understanding about throwing money at something that is not yet a problem. I will definitely hire Jake to do the work for us once the property closes.

Just had Jake The Plumber over to fix what we thought would be an easy leak in our sink drain. Plumber Paul came over and was very cordial and transparent about estimated costs, he definitely had his work cutout for him as our issue had to do with a newly installed vessel sink. Overall I was very impressed with the service and professionalism and would highly recommend Jake The Plumber to family and friends.

Our experience with Jake was great! He worked on both our kitchen and bathroom plumbing systems and went over and beyond by fixing the bath drain (in addition to the leaky faucet) and sprayer in the kitchen sink (in addition to fixing the kitchen piping). He also secured the wobbly sink in our bathroom--great attention to detail. Also, because he missed an appointment with us earlier in the week, he waived the trip charge for the subsequent appointment. That shows a lot of integrity. We are happy customers in East side Saint Paul.

Jake the Plumber was our first experience with hiring a plumber, and we were very pleased. They were prompt, the cost was reasonable, they took the time to go over the repair in detail, and thoroughly answered any questions that we had. We live on the opposite side of the metro from Jakes, and thus had a travel cost, but it was well worth it. We will definitely use them again the next time we need a plumber.

I live in the Cathedral Hill area of St Paul and was having a hard time getting anybody to respond to my request for assistance with a fallen undermounted sink.I really appreciated that Jake (and Adam, the business manager) were so responsive and easy to work with.Not only did he addess the plumbing concerns, which included a garbage disposal removal, but Jake also provided referrals for repairing my sink. While the whole process was more expensive than I had anticipated, Jake was honest about the costs and I would definitely recommend Jake the Plumber and use his company again.

When I lived in Saint Paul, I had a leak in my third floor bathroom and didnt know who to call. Luckily, I found Jakes through a Google search and was pleasantly surprised with how easy the whole ordeal became! I was able to get a plumber to my residence within a mere twenty-four hours, which was faster then any of the local competition. The plumber that worked on the job was named Stu. He was very timely, extremely knowledgeable, and carried a pleasant attitude throughout the entire service. He got the job done in just a few hours for a very reasonable price. On the website, I was even able to print off a coupon for a free inspection which Stu also performed. He was very thorough and explained everything in the simplest terms possible so that everyone involved knew exactly what was going on. Great service, great pricing! I cant recommend Jakes enough for plumbing problems; especially, due to the fact that all of their work comes with a lifetime guarantee! I definitely wont be looking around for who to call next time I have a plumbing issue, thats for sure.

Jake has been my go to guy for all my plumbing needs. Recently the company expanded and though I didnt know it, they offer HVAC services as well.I talked to Jake on a Sunday when my furnace was down. He had a technician available to fix what turned out to be a stuck open pressure switch valve. The tech was here right when Jake said hed be. They had the parts available to do the job, and were in and out in about 10 minutes!!! He also checked other components of my furnace to ensure there werent other issues that contributed to the failure. Im confident there wont be a need for a return visit.If something happens in the future, Jake or Jakes staff get it done right the first time. Friendly professionals there and competitive rates!!!

They were honest, compassionate and I didnt feel like they were trying to screw me. Timing for someone to come out was excellent! (same day). Stu Maxwell was sent. Best experience I’ve had with a plumber. Professional, thoughtful, courteous. Stew (Stu?) went out of his way to make sure I understood what was happening and when, and took care to ensure that our cats didn’t sneak out and that our home stayed clean.The price was also excellent. $1500 for a new water heater, installation, and removal of the old water heater. I feel that this is as cheap as this could possibly be (especially considering a local plumbing chain wanted to charge us $4500 for the same job), and to also have the experience be fast and professional makes this a 5-star business.They did the job right, on time, and right on budget without any upsells or BS. These are real Plumbers. I’ll recommend them to everyone.

I called 4 plumbers before I called Jake. They were either busy or had no idea how to solve my problem when I explained the situation and wouldnt even come out to check. I called Jake the plumber and they came out that day. They were super friendly and discovered the water heater was leaking underneath by using a camera, then showed me the video demonstrating the problem. They also found my water pressure was low and discovered the water softner (which was likely original with the old house) was failing causing the water pressure issues. The work was great and they were incredibly friendly. I definitely recommend Jake.

We live near Lake Como and moved into our home less than 9 months ago. When our kitchen sink wouldnt drain the other night, I was clueless of who to call for plumbing services. After reading numerous reviews, I couldnt help but choose Jake the Plumber; who sounded loyal and down to earth. Jake was just that and more! He sent Ngu, who was friendly and efficient. Ngu cleaned our pipes that very same morning. After realizing that we would also need a new drain, Jake came out (the same day!!) and replaced our drain. The entire time Jake was extremely friendly, down to earth, and told us everything that he was doing repairs on so we could learn through the process. Jake is the person everyone needs in their life - someone they can call with plumbing/AC concerns and trust that theyre getting loyal and reasonably priced services. When making an appointment, Adam (Jakes assistant) was straightforward on the phone, telling me what the service would cost, so that I wasnt blind sighted at the end of the process. Thank you, Adam, Ngu, and Jake - You are fabulous people and were a huge blessing to our family in a time of need!! Your company will be the first we call in the future when we need help again!

Our rental property had a busted sewer line (after hours) under the concrete floor and these guys came out the very next day and dealt with it quickly and efficiently. We had tenants in hotels with costs mounting quickly, but Tim was able to get us up and running without the need to have the tenants away a second night. Were out-of-town property owners and we needed someone local and trustworthy, and these are the guys you want in that situation. They even recommended I shop around for a concrete repair company to fix the floor after theyd finished, but after a few calls it was clear Tims price was even better than the concrete companies. Plus he came back a third time to re-connect appliances without any added cost. This was a big repair, but I feel we got good value for the money in a very difficult situation. Thanks, Tim.

Jake the Plumber was the second quote we got on a job in our century-old condo unit where we are relocating a washer/dryer and revamping a kitchen and utility room. Based on online recommendations and Jakes thorough examination of the job, we asked him to do the work.On the first day the crew showed up at the designated time and worked through the day. Unfortunately, our old building had a surprise for us. After shutting down the buildings water to install shutoffs to our unit, the buildings valve failed and obstructed the flow of water to all the other units Jake and crew stayed on the job until after 9pm to repair the issue, and were complemented by the other occupants of the building on how well the situation was handled. Jake went to each affected unit and checked for pressure, and cleared grit out of water lines as needed. (Apparently this fragile old building has had other plumbing issues in the past, so the other owners here were remarkably understanding!)Despite the extra work (our association covered the expense of the failed building valve - Jakes charges were very reasonable), Jake and crew completed the work on time and within budget. This job is the first of several as we rehab our unit and we will be calling on Jake the Plumber to continue when we begin the next phase.Thank you Jake, Steve, and Paul for your friendly professionalism and commitment to the job!

I would absolutely recommend Jake The Plumber. We needed a shower control replaced in our master bathroom. There was no access panel to the rear, and they had to cut into sheet rock to get the access. Stu was very careful and took the tile on the other side of the wall off without causing any damage. I was able to re-use these tiles when when we closed the wall back up. Just an example of the careful, excellent work Jake the Plumber does. Our job was finished in 3 hours and works perfectly.These guys are the real deal!

Jake was super cool and personable, but also very professional. I called Monday afternoon, and he was able to get me in the first thing Tuesday morning (I live in the Daytons Bluff neighborhood on the East Side of Saint Paul). I was especially into the whole free consultation thing, since many plumbers charge quite a lot just to come out. I also needed a plumber who would do both drain unclogging and drain/faucet repair, and it seems like there are a lot of companies out there that are either/or with that kind of stuff. He unclogged the drain in question (kitchen), replaced the kitchen faucet on a really difficult-to-access sink, and re-plumbed the main drain and dishwasher connection for a very reasonable price. He explained plumbing in a way that made sense, offered to teach me how to do the work myself so that I could know some plumbing basics, and did not try and up-sell me on anything. He was more competent and provided better service than larger plumbing companies that Ive worked with, and it was nice to know I was supporting an individual guy versus a big company. Im a relatively young female homeowner, and was completely comfortable having him in my house and felt that he was being very honest and fair with me. He is definitely someone I will call again and recommend to others.

My old water heater broke, so I did what I normally do with this sort of thing and went down to Home Depot to get a new one, planning to watch YouTube videos and figure it out. But after looking at what the job would entail, seeing that there was going to be both solder and gas lines involved, I decided to call in a professional. Jake found time on a Saturday evening to come by to do the job (with his son as his helper, a real family business). They looked over the job free of charge before beginning work, and after a five minute inspection they gave me the price I would pay. It was a little higher than they had said over the phone but there was an obsolete valve that needed replacing -- I Googled grease-pack ball valve and it was totally legit. And the overall price was right.They handled the job just under three hours and hauled my old unit out of the basement. The installation looks nice and professional. Nice guy, and its clear that he loves his business -- would definitely trust him again for future work.

Thank goodness for jake the plumber!!!My fridge had been leaking for days.. WEEKS and my cats continued to sneak behind the fridge and lick the dirty water coming out of it. I was trying SO HARD to avoid calling a plumber. I would rather do most anything else than have to call a plumber but the issue continued even after all of my make shift solutions. I finally gave in and google searched plumbers near me. I came across jake the plumber (mind you I originally clicked on his name because of the cute pic it came with) not to mention all of the previous reviews said nothing but good! He came out same day and informed me that ALL ALONG it was the ice maker water line! He fixed it in a matter of an hour at a very very fair price and I was happy to know my little kittens will no longer be drinking the dirty fridge water and that horrid noise that came with the leaking will stop. I am so grateful for jake the plumber and will be telling every single soul I pass about him!!THANK YOU JAKE THE PLUMBER!!!

I looked at three other companies and somehow landed on Jake the Plumber website. Im glad I did because everyone was friendly and they asked the right questions before coming to our home in Woodbury. Stu was very fun and informative! Pricing seemed fair, still expensive though. We will definitely use this company again!!

I had some work done on my sump pump and the entire process was very smooth. The technician, Stu, was very knowledgeable and helpful and gave plenty of options for fixing the issue. I called in the late afternoon with an emergency kitchen sink clog. Adam on the phone was very informative and he was able to contact Ngu right away and send him our way within an hour. Ngu arrived, got straight to work and unclogged the kitchen sink quickly, then checked our laundry room drain which requires more equipment and more time but only charged me for the first job. Great service in all departments, quick and affordable. Will definitely use them again.

If you want THE BEST ...DO NOT LOOK ANY FURTHER! I can not RAVE about these men enough. They came out and fixed our shower, sink, toilets, and flushed our system because it was backing up. Jake worked on our house in Northeast Minneapolis today with his comrade Jimmy and I am greatly impressed with their professionalism. Not only did they fix our major plumbing leak to our shower they did it without having to break through our ceiling saving us from some fairly large reconstruction. Also the work was under budget and in less time than quoted the day prior. I highly recommend Jake and his crew for any job you need him for. Btw he likes his coffee with some sugar and cream. Hook him up. Hes a good guy.

Easily the best plumbing/boiler service I have ever experienced. Jake came out the same day I called for a service need for my boiler. I asked if I could look over his shoulder and have him educate me on my system. He gladly explained how the system worked and how and what needed to be fixed, and then followed through with outstanding service. Very professional and affordable. Our household had no hot water and Jake came out on a Saturday to fix the issue! First he asked the right questions and had me text a few photos. Then with a bit more investigation he was able to determine what the issue was - the vapor signal - was emitting. He came over, replaced the part, explained that you cant put paint next to a water heater, which my son did recently while sweeping the utility room. So now we know. Jake was friendly, prompt and helped us understand what needed to be done, I highly recommend him!

Had an issue with sewer backup in my basement. Roto Rooter quoted me $3500 to solve the issue. I called Jake the Plumber and talked to them about the issue. They were very courteous over the phone and asked that I send pictures so they could best prepare for the service call. Over the course of the visit, three guys were at my house and all three were very friendly. When they arrived they expressed concern that the job could be larger than originally anticipated. However, they proposed (and took) a different approach that saved me several hundred dollars and thousands from what Roto Rooter quoted me. I could tell they wanted to do right by me and not overcharge me for unnecessary repairs. They took the time to explain the issue to me, what my options were, and what they did to solve it. These guys checked all the boxes that I look for in a company and I’ll definitely be working with them again in the future. Highly recommend.

Jake was great--fast, reliable, on time, friendly, and professional. In under an hour, he repaired a garbage disposal, gave me a few quick tips on keeping it in working order, repaired a leaky faucet, and determined that the problem with the dishwasher was not a plumbing problem, but rather a malfunctioning appliance part, and he referred us to an appliance repair service. Jake will be my first call for all plumbing needs from here on out.
