Absolutely excellent service! Personable, professional, and knew what they were doing. They were able to come out the next day to help with a messed up drain in the bathroom pedestal sink in my 100 year old home. In addition to fixing the issue in under an hour (the minimum visit time), Tim took the extra time to teach me about the rest of the bathrooms plumbing so that I knew what to keep an eye out for in the future.I really appreciate the pricing structure since they only charge for the time it takes, rather than a fixed cost per item. Every project is different and they were up front about the scope of work. It sounds expensive at first, but ended up less than hiring a drain cleaning company, and they were able to fix plumbing issues and teach me in the process.Id use Erik Nelson Plumbing again in a heartbeat!

ENP is great!We originally planned to replace an old toilet ourselves, but after receiving the new one, we figured it would be better to have an expert do it to avoid any costly mistakes. We called Erik Nelson Plumbing on a Monday, and they scheduled us for the following Monday. Tim showed up right on time, assessed the situation, gave us an estimate, and started working right away. To say he was polite, friendly and efficient would be a massive understatement. Since theres a second toilet we need to replace later, we asked if hed mind our watching and asking questions while he worked. Not only did he do an expert job, he carefully explained each step and pointed out all the stuff to look out for when we eventually tackle the next one ourselves.We wholeheartedly recommend Erik Nelson Plumbing and wont hesitate to call them for our next plumbing job.

We’ve used Erik Nelson Plumbing for three years, and they’ve been consistently great. Tim just installed a new sink and toilet in our bathroom, and he did an excellent job. He got called away midday to work on another project, but called us in the afternoon to make sure he could come finish our project, and stayed very late in the day until it was done, well after the time I imagine he would normally have finished. This was on the eve of a holiday weekend, too, and he stayed late just so we could have a functional bathroom over the long weekend. Every time he made a recommendation, he made sure I understood the pros and cons of each choice. Every plumber that has come to work on our house has been highly skilled, ethical, and friendly. We’re glad Erik Nelson is in the neighborhood!

I am in process of finishing a workshop space, but the soil stack was square across the middle of the room, and I would constantly bump my head into it. The service to our kitchen sink was also not done properly, as well as the venting. Eriks crew came in and fixed all of it, making sure everything was up to code and tucked away. Any additional work, costs, and considerations were communicated immediately and in high detail, so there were no surprises at the end. In the end, I now have a kitchen sink that blasts water and drains efficiently to a soil stack that doesnt cause any concussions (and looks great too!)

Personable, professional, and thorough service. We have an old floor drain that builds up with rust and needs to be cleaned out every few years. ENP got us on their schedule in a reasonable amount of time. They arrived on time and explained the whole process up front, from rates to expectations, no mysteries. The best part, they let me watch so I could learn how to clean it myself. Weve been at a loss because we lost our longtime plumber, but now are elated because ENP is definitely our new go-to for plumbing. My only complaint is that we didnt find them sooner!

We had a great experience recently with Erik Nelson Plumbing. We were new clients, yet they still scheduled a visit for within a couple days of our call. We had several plumbing issues that Tim handled expertly. He was also very pleasant and volunteered to teach us how to take care of one of the issues ourselves in the future (toilet gasket replacement). He was also wonderfully kind to our gentle but somewhat nervous dog. She loved him! This company is now our go-to one for all our plumbing needs.

These guys are a testament to buying small and local! I had 2 of the big name companies out for estimates for my multi-day job and they were hugely inflated; in one case in part, I think, because I’m a single woman with white hair. Then I got wise and called this small company located right in the neighborhood. They were fantastic from start to finish. They were great at explaining without the patronizing tone of the others. They broke down the estimate so I could pick and choose what I could afford. In the end I could do everything because their charges were so much more in line with what I was expecting. Jaron and his apprentice were always on time, friendly, creative, professional and the quality of the work was outstanding. It is now over 2 months later and everything is working perfectly.It was such a positive experience in every way. I feel relieved to know I won’t need to put off calling for plumbing help in the future because I can call Erik’s! And I’d never hesitate recommending them to my friends.

Totally professional, forthright/honest about best and worst case scenarios so there were no surprises. The project was to install new fixtures for my kitchen sink--which wasnt as easy as it sound due to manufacturer not making tiny part anymore--and they installed new parts for my toilet. I’ve had ENP do two small projects at my house now, and am very happy with the results. I spoke to Justin on the phone before both, and he was responsive and did all he could to help over the phone. I got on the schedule easily both times. Simon was the plumber who came out for each project. I had a great customer experience working with ENP the first time. I chose ENP based on their stellar google reviews and prompt response time. Justin was easy to get a hold of, and any missed calls were responded to in a timely manner during the scheduling process. The plumbers on site, Adam and Simon, were very professional in their approach, taking much care in protecting my floors, limiting dust by using plastic tenting, and being attentive with their clean up post repair. With an over 100 year old home with questionable patch jobs over the years, Adam and Simon were unphased and solution focused. I felt informed with what repairs were being performed, and any options were well described and pressure free. I never felt like I was being sold, and their repair came in at their quote. I would not hesitate recommending ENP to friends or family and will keep them in mind for any future plumbing needs. My calls were promptly returned, everything about the install was explained very clearly and their pricing was transparent. I needed a diagnostic on some pressure drops in my water system, as well as a new water heater install. From the initial phone call to the end of the install, I felt that the process was painless and that all communication was honest and transparent regarding the work that might need to be done and what it might cost. Jaron & Tim showed up to do the diagnosis and install, were extremely pleasant to work with, clear in all communication, and understood the exact concerns I had with my plumbing problems. The work looks good after the fact, and Jaron suggested some things that may need to be looked at down the road, with a good faith estimate. My entire experience with Erik Nelson Plumbing was great. I described my issue to Nick when I scheduled my service and he found the most appropriate team to address my problem. Erik (the owner) and Jaron came to the house and gave me an estimate and described what the job likely would entail. I had a broken vent pipe in my upstairs bathroom that need to be replaced and reconnected to my main vent stack. I also had them replace all of the remaining galvanized pipes in that bathroom as well. They had to open the wall in an adjacent bedroom to make the repairs. I was very happy with their work and they left the work area spotless. The final cost came in below their original estimate. These are good guys and I highly recommend them.

I cant recommend Erik Nelsons plumbers enough. Ive now worked with them twice on semi-emergencies: one a frozen pipe last winter and more recently a badly leaking tub drain. Both times they went out of their way to make room in their booked up schedule for next-day fixes. The communication around scheduling via text was excellent and incredibly convenient. The plumbers were friendly, informative, and professional (bonus points for loving my dog). They resolved the issues promptly on both occasions. We bought a 1926 house with the understanding that it would require major plumbing work after our inspection. We got bids from 3 different plumbers, and Jaron from ENP was impressively thorough with the quote. The quote took a lot longer than expected because the house had a lot of quirks, and ENP charges for quotes. It was the lowest quote and the most thorough. We hired him to come in the Monday after we closed, and he and assistant Tim fully revamped our plumbing in 5 days during a snowstorm. They brought absolutely everything up to code, helped us select new fixtures and a toilet, and took care of many issues beyond what we discussed in the quote. Because of several unanticipated issues with the plumbing and us choosing some more complex upgrades, we went over the original quote, but Jaron talked us through each additional component and made sure we wanted to go through with it. All was very fair and we got a lot of great features that we werent originally planning to do now. At the end, he walked us through the whole job and explained every component and what we needed to know. The job site was meticulously clean and organized. Well be using Erik Nelson Plumbing for all our future plumbing needs. Thank you so much!

Last Thursday evening, I saw black mold and water bubbles on the dining room ceiling! Looking for a Longfellow-local plumber, I found ENP. They picked right away, and John came out early this week, located the source of the leak, and cleaned up the mess. He was personable, professional, and considerate. Two days later, he returned with a coworker to replace the burst lead pipes and remove the old toilet, replacing it with a low-flow toilet that was better seated in the bathroom. The dining room floor and bathroom are now cleaner than theyve ever been, and I have names for two different contractors who can sheet-rock the ceiling. The final price was lower than I expected, too. Wow! Happy? YOU BET!

With their knowledge of older homes and plumbing systems it was quickly realized that the repair would be more involved. We were impressed with the creative solutions to repair and replace damaged parts of our antiquated plumbing system. As friendly as Adam and Simon are, while we dont anticipate needing to call a plumber again anytime soon, if we did we would certainly call these guys right away.

For many years now, since our previous house needed emergency electrical work after a storm we have had a great relationship with our electrician. We can trust him to be straight, fair and reasonable with us.Ive always looked for a similar relationship with a plumber. Weve had a variety of experiences with plumbers but havent found one we can trust that takes good care of our 100 year-old house.I can safely say we finally have this with Erik Nelson plumbing. Today they came in to install a faucet in our bathroom and were timely, straight with me and reasonably priced. They explained what they did and even put on new shutoff values without needing to drain the house.They fixed a drain on our tub and brought it up to code.Nov. 23, 2021 update:We had a shower faucet handle that was covered under Kohler warranty. They replaced it and showed me how it was done.There was a leaky laundry tub faucet that they were able replace and upgrade the shutoffs and add hammer arrestors.Nick and Tim did a great job and a little under the cost we originally thought it would be.April 4, 2022 update:ENP just installed a new water heater and again came in a bit below what I expected. They also took the time to explain the features of the new water heater.Absolutely excellent professionals. Looking forward to working with them for years to come.

Adam clearly communicated when he would arrive, and although he ran into a few issues with our old house, he got the job done with impeccable service and at a reasonable rate. I hope that we dont have to see them for a while, but if/when we do have plumbing issues, Erik Nelson will be our first call. Full marks.

The work was done so well AND AFFORDABLE that I called ENP back and had Adam repair my leaky toilet as well. Adam was extremely professional as he prepared a written estimate prior to any work being performed. At the conclusion of the project, Adams estimate was well within his intiall price estimate range which he provided me BEFORE he started any work. I must say I am rarely inspired (and/or impressed enough) to jump online and extol the service Ive just been provided for fairly routine home upgrades or maintenance. However since purchasing our home two months ago, weve now called on Erik Nelson Plumbing twice for installation of a new water line for a refrigerator and replacement of a water heater. They not only completed the work as advertised but generously agreed to look at and rectify several other minor plumbing issues we had in the house. He and his colleagues are exactly as described in other reviews - professional, honest, skilled, and very knowledgeable. I am 100% satisfied with all aspects of both visits and after a less-than-satisfying visit by a competitor, their superiority is clear in every regard. I cant recommend them highly enough.

Just cant say enough good things about ENP. First class people, first class work and first class service. Great communication. Friendly. Arrived to the minute when they said they would. Finished a big sewer job an hour early, and declined my payment for the full hourly amount, even though they richly deserved it. The plumbing assistant even used her down time to check and repair our dripping facets, without being asked or charging extra. This is old school service. In the last two months, I have had Erik Nelson Plumbing work on 4 different things at my house. They worked on my kitchen sink, 2 bathroom sinks and on the pipe that feeds my boiler. They handled each of the 4 jobs with care, and did an excellent job deciphering problems and coming up with solutions. One of the jobs, on our upstairs bathroom, involved fixing some custom work that had been done a few years back. They didnt miss a beat - and immediately found compatible parts from a company in California. In fact, the replacement parts were better than what we previously had. John, the plumber that worked on all four of our jobs was also extremely pleasant and professional. It was clear that he cared about his work. I cannot recommend Erik Nelson Plumbing enough! From the initial consult to job completion, Erik and his crew were friendly and professional, and - most of all – competent (which has not been my experience with some other plumbers in SW Minneapolis). I had a somewhat complex kitchen sink venting issue, which was causing the sink to drain extremely slowly. One of Erik’s plumbers (I forgot his name) came out to diagnose the problem, and he presented me with multiple solutions and the pros/cons of each as well as the work that would be involved and an estimate of time and costs. Plumbers Adam and Andy did the actual repair, which was completed within the estimated timeframe and within the established budget. They kept me informed throughout the repair (I wasn’t able to be present during the repair) to make sure I clearly understood and approved of the scope of the work. The guys clearly know what they’re doing – the sink passed inspection and it drains perfectly now (a night and day difference). They had to work in very tight spaces, and their work quite frankly looks like an engineering marvel to me. I will use ENP for all my plumbing needs going forward.

We recently had a cascade of plumbing issues in our 110 y/o Minneapolis home, starting with a bathroom faucet coming loose and leaking. This was on a 1/2 bath install from 2011 that included what we quickly came to realize was a poorly installed (not level) 1/2 bath sink.We called ENP for addressing replacement of both the sink and the faucet. ENP was helpful and timely with suggestions of replacement products and we could not be happier with the new set up. The bid was accurate and follow up excellent; we were never left hanging in regards to timeline.For the same project we added on 2nd floor tub shower faucet replacement, shower grab bar install, and the somewhat bittersweet replacement of our singing toilet which had its guts replaced and is no longer melodic. In addition while working the plumbing team found and repaired a tiny leak in the copper piping hidden behind the tub wall, and noticed and suggested we add or replace two sets of shut off valves. ENP checked with us every step of the way and informed us professionally regarding choices and recommendations.The price was fair for the two craftsmen in our home most of the day and with so much accomplished.Jaren and Nick were a pleasure to have in the home, respectful, quiet, cleaned up etc. absolutely no issues.

Not only did they correct my broken outdoor faucet, but they also helped me understand what had caused it to do so, since it was only a year old and had been drained in the fall. The estimate and pricing were logical and fair, and the plumber was efficient. After some unfortunate prior experiences with plumbers, a friend recommended this business. I plan to use them whenever I have future issues, and with a 100+ year old house thats likely to be sooner than later.

The good folks at ENP have been amazing to work with. We found them simply by word of mouth and then looked at the reviews. We were sold. We are owner operators of a s mpls duplex built in 1957 with all original plumbing. Interestingly enough, we have never used anyone else, nor have we called anyone else ever. This means we have never felt the need to shop it out for pricing.As a salesperson myself, I know that people buy from people that come through for them. Also, they buy from people they like. We will only ever use ENP for our plumbing needs. Each job we have had them do has been professionally done and they come over with a great attitude. I have also personally met Erik as he came to help shovel out one of their vans after the big snow recently. All of this completely reinforces my satisfaction and excellent customer experience. It is a family run business that does excellent work at a great price. What more could you need? What’s that? Guaranteed work? There is a 1 year warranty on the work that they do.

Great job working in our basement to repair a leaking pipe to the outside spigot. Explained what the problem was, fixed it and installed a new outside spigot. He also took the time to explain what to do in winter, which we already do but my hubby has dementia so it was good he told me (and left direction.) Also repaired a leak under my bathroom sink. Everything was clean and neat when they left. Also he had a young woman apprentice, which was nice to see.

Im very happy with Erik Nelson Plumbing. Im in a 1920s age building and I found that the steel sink vent pipe had come apart with a 1 gap letting sewer gas into my kitchen. The pipe was in poor shape almost up to the roof. They replaced the pipe and all the connections. They arrived on time. They gave an estimate which was basically what it ended up costing. They were clean and neat. I think that these guys are less expensive and more polite than the big name plumbers. Id use them again.
