We’ve used MJ Electric several times for various electrical needs in our house (both big and small) and have always had a great experience!I texted Mike this week and he responded in less than 10 minutes with a guy available the next day. Nate was out at our home today for several hours and did an excellent job (super friendly, polite, made great recommendations for this project and future needs, cleaned up very thoroughly).Overall, great guys, really fairly priced, never had any issues!

BUILDING ON EARLIER KUDOS:After only 3 months of our new Overhead Main Line Conversion in operation a storm felled a large tree on the line, bending the mast, leaving a gaping exposed hole where the flashing was torn off, and threatening disaster if (and when) the line finally snapped. MJ Electrics team went above and beyond to make sure that a new conduit was installed and the damage to the roof addressed before we faced series rain water or pest control issues, despite running into considerable red tape with Xcel. THANK YOU.EARLIER:We couldnt be more impressed with the quality of service, customer and technical, we received from MJ Electric over the past month. After discovering that our underground main line had failed, it appeared we had no good options: tear up a 500 sq/ft section of decking and move a hot tub or move the meter (and destroy our finished basement) location entirely. Brad made two visits to our home to meet with us and our Xcel Solutions Design engineer, diligently diagnosing the challenges and patiently mapping out our options. Without going into project specifics (which were legion), Brad and his team came up with a workable solution that saved us thousands of dollars and months of disruption. Also, Mike personally answered our calls and bent over backwards to ensure the project was completed on time and invoiced fairly. We will absolutely recommend MJ Electric to our Bloomington neighbors, given the opportunity.

Great company!Ive been doing flips for 20 years and this is the best electrician Ive used. Got his name from a friend, gave them a call and left a message. Mike the owner called me back within 15 minutes. He asked the scope of my project and then sent a man out within days...not weeks! I had a somewhat tricky job that required fishing many runs to my panel that was in the garage. His man was very professional and knowledgeable who gave me many suggestions to enhance my project. I thought for sure I would need to cut away large sections of drywall and patch for days. The guy worked so fast and you couldnt even tell there was any work done...all you could see when he was done was a small bag of wire scraps that he cleaned up. Very skilled worker. Trust me...Ive used dozens of contractors...call this guy for your next job and see what the old days were like when you delt directly with the owner and got quality work at a fair and honest price!!!

I had an issue and contacted MJ as I had heard good things word of mouth. MJ attempted to troubleshoot by phone and when it was clear I was not capable offered his services. He was able to send an electrician same day, who solved my issue for what I thought to be a reasonable price. Both the owner and his employee were professional, patient and approachable. I couldnt ask for much more.

MJ Electric is my go-to electrician because their prices are fair and they are quick to respond and deploy. I have used MJ Electric on several occasions now to take care of big and small wiring issues. Mike and his crew are knowledgeable and efficient. Mike is pretty good at setting the right expectation for the level of work needed. I also appreciate his fair and competitive hourly rate, which is unbeaten by most other electricians around. The only gripe I have is that he charges a 3.5% fee for credit cards which can get pretty high on large jobs, and most other contractors have absorbed that cost by now in favor of the customer. In the end though, when it comes to cost, reliability, and quality MJ Electric is still up there.

We had MJ electric upgrade the two services at our duplex from 100 amp to 200 amp services. They also upgraded the old interior fuseboxes to Siemens 200 Amp breaker panels.The MJ Electric pros did a workmanlike job and behaved in a courteous and professional manner while they worked onsite. They also cleaned up after themselves in an admirable manner. It was a pleasure to work with them and I recommend them.Their 2023 cost for a residential 200amp panel upgrade is around $5,000. Because we upgraded two services at the same site and there werent any special issues or conditions we were give a discounted price of $8,500 for the two service upgrades.

Just want to give a shoutout to MJ Electric to thank him for his honesty and knowledge when I called on Sunday for a power outage at my house. I explained power went out but it was only half my house. He suggested calling Xcel before sending someone on an emergency weekend call. It was indeed an Xcel outage and power was restored around midnight Sunday night. I’m not sure another electrician would have shared that knowledge but may have come out to trouble shoot as an emergency call on a Sunday. It’s great to have local companies available and I highly recommend MJ Electric.

We had a great experience with MJ Electric. They replaced our entire electric panel when we had an emergency and there was actually sparking happening from our old panel. They responded very quickly and were able to fit us into their schedule within 24 hours. The cost was very reasonable too. Beforehand, we would have whole house electric outages sometimes. We have not had any issues since, and we have gone back to taking our electricity for granted. So thankful it is fixed and the work is stable and secure.

We had a very small window of time to restore a house damaged by renters. We completed some of the electrical repairs needed but ran out of time for the rest. MJ Electric came out twice, sooner than expected both times (we had MJ install some outdoor lights, we didnt notice the replacements we brought with were damaged so we had to purchase new ones, thats why they had to come out twice). Excellent workmanship: professional, efficient, and courteous. We highly recommend MJ Electric.

I HIGHLY recommend MJ Electric. These guys rescued me from a kitchen-remodeling nightmare starring an electrician from a different company. A friend recommended that I call MJ Electric who sent someone out the very next day (!!) to take a look at everything. They had the actual work finished within a week. The owner even came out to personally inspect the work after it was done.They answer the phone, they show up on time, they do things correctly, and they clean up! Regarding the review left by Attorney ConsultantsThe only accurate information contained in the post by this individual is that the staff and business at MJ Electric are phenomenal. In fact, gracious enough to allow me to conduct my business on a somewhat regular basis. The disappointing part of the rest of this post comes from a convicted felon, found guilty by a jury of his peers, of a violent sexual assault of a woman. As you may guess he failed his polygraph and is unhappy this occurred. Always sad to see someone hide behind an anonymous post. 30 years of law enforcement solely in the area of investigations. 15 years of polygraph examinations, conducting over 4000 polys and one individual like this has to try to smear someones name and then attach it to a business that had nothing to do with this incident.

I have a rental property in Minnesota and I was recommended to call MJ Electric who has been around for some time. I had MJ himself, the owner, come out to price a job that was done incorrectly by the previous homeowner (whomever they hired). MJ explained what was done incorrectly and how to fix it in a way a laymen can understand. Side note...I see Devins comment and I wonder if we are even talking about the same person? Anyway...the work was done professionally and MJ followed up to make sure I was satisfied with the work. We cried Wa Ricky when we discovered the refrigerator wasnt working one morning, nor was our sunroom floor. My smarter half found MJ on the neighborhood app and they said they would respond within such a time limit, and they did...that was the first surprise ! James soon was at our door and waisted no time with the fridge...that job done he went on to replace our floor thermostat...and even took on my garage outlet so I could use my compressor! James was a Rockstar for us! His boss should be quite proud of him. He gave us real value for the money. I called MJ Electric based on many recommendations from neighbors. They were fast to respond to my phone calls, a little more difficult to get repsonse from e-mails sent. The electrician sent out, Tim, is the best! very friendly, offered suggestions, made sure I was happy with everything he was doing, cleaned up after himself.The only downside that I had was one issue with a light fixture and how it was hung, I sent an e-mail about getting it changed but received a repsonse that the fixture could go either way. When I responded that this was not the case and I would prefer it changed I never heard anything back. Other than this one thing, everything else was supburb and I would defintely recommend MJ Electric to others.

Mike helped me out on memorial day weekend (when other companies wouldnt). I had no power and it was 95 degrees. He not only came after hours to help me, but he let me use his personal generator for free! His co-worker (Tim?) was awesome too. Very quick and quality work. I will be hiring for more work in the future

Great service and results! I had put off several fairly small but annoying electrical repairs in my house (bad switches, broken bathroom fan, faulty fixtures, etc.), and Mike assured me no job was too small.
