Ben was extremely detailed in providing me information on all the options that I had available for my panel replacement. He took the time to actually go through the house,, investigate, let me ask questions, and see what I wanted to have done,. There were updates that were needed for code, and those were pointed out during the walk through and on the quote. The other companies that came out were not here half the time, and I feel after having Ben here, that the other companies did not really look to see what was in the best interest to me, the homeowner. The other quotes actually stated on paper that they work they do meets the MINIMUM requirements - nothing more. Edison quotes indicated that they meet or EXCEED requirements.

Update - They contacted me about the miscommunication (below) and refunded the service call fee - stating that they would use it as a learning opportunity to understand customer needs before coming out. This is good business practice and demonstrates their commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction. If I have a need for electrician services in the future, Edison Electric is in my Rolodex.The employees are great—kind and knowledgeable. However, I specifically told them I needed someone to look at my microwave because it was throwing the breaker. They charged $79 to show up at the front door. Then, they told me they wanted to investigate every outlet on the breaker for $400 to determine if it was the microwave and that they would not look at the microwave. Maybe its my fault for thinking they would look at the microwave, but I was very clear on the initial call that I needed the microwave looked at. I will never use Edison Electric again on any of my properties. Understand the customers scope of work before charging $80 and wasting my time.

Ben and Brandon of Edison Electric were terrific. They took extra time to be sure they put booties, even though our carpet is older than either of them. They were very professional and courteous.Brandon was here yesterday (Wednesday, Dec. 18th) to finish installing our light fixture, that couldnt be installed originally due to missing parts. Brandon again was courteous and completed the task quickly and professionally. He even stayed to vacuum the mess from the fixture box and packaging. My husband told Brandon he could do it, but Brandon insisted, He asked if there was anything else he could do. He also went over the proposals he had given us originally filling us in on more detail. We are very pleased with the work and workers. We wont hesitate to contact Edison Electric again.

I checked out a few places for an issue with a tripping breaker in our home. Edison had the lowest initial visit fee and good reviews, so I decided to go with them. They were also able to get us on the schedule the next day - other places had indicated they were booked out several weeks. Jake and his associate came by at the time promised and were very respectful and direct with us that the issue we were having was not going to be easy to diagnose and it was likely going to be expensive. We didnt really have a choice because our breaker was tripping in a home office where we needed the ability to run a computer, monitors, lights, etc. They laid out all our options and recommended the one that they thought made the most sense. They began digging into our issue and found it very quickly, which saved us a considerable amount of money. At the end of the day, we felt like they did not try to oversell or do work that was not required, and they also gave us some recommendations for additional work that could be done when we were ready. Since I was a new customer, Ryan and Alan did a complete inspection and review of my entire home electrical system. Along the way they taught me some things about my circuit box and other components. They took the time needed for a quality review and gathered the information to make estimates of the things I wanted done. Then, we picked the items we wanted to do today, and they did an excellent job of moving and installing a new dining room overhead light fixture. They were professional and friendly, and it was obvious from the start that they had a broad knowledge of residential electrical systems. A First Class experience. We will definitely use them again for any electrical work. That was a few months ago.Today I had to call them to analyze an illusive electrical problem and Ryan and jade did a great job checking the circuit and boxes and giving me estimates and alternatives.I would highly recommend Edison for residential work. It is easy to get appointments through their dedicated customer service and the 4 electricians we have seen so far have been friendly, on time, and very experienced and competent.

I like the process. Jake and Brandon did a walkthrough to determine the scope of our repair items, hang light fixture, replace two thermostats and several bad switches. They then did a deeper dive to determine the cost estimate. We then went through the estimate to give a thumbs up on the items we wanted done. They were able to get everything done as promised and did an excellent job at cleaning up. Definitely would use them for future work

Had Edison Electric come out to just install a ceiling fan because I wanted to work with a local/non-franchised model company. Ryan did a whole house inspection; however, there was no pressure on the recommended services and he was upfront on pricing. Ryan wound up installing the ceiling fan, fixed a dimmer switch panel and put in a new outlet in our laundry room. Great service, very communicative, and cost was reasonable. Would highly recommend and use Edison again in the future.

We don’t write reviews often, but the electricians from Edison deserve a 5-star review. From our initial meeting, to the thorough evaluation of our home’s electric system, to installing a large chandelier (that was missing the instruction manual) in our 2-story foyer, they really knocked it out of the park!They paid attention to several details without us asking. They wiped the large light fixture down with microfiber rags before attaching the globes; then before installing the globes, they cleaned each of them meticulously with a polishing cloth and wore gloves to avoid any fingerprints.They also were very respectful of our home by wearing shoe covers whenever they were in the house and making sure to tarp off any areas where they were working to ensure that dust/dirt was minimized. Each day they finished working and after the installations were done, they made sure to clean up and vacuum afterwards.It was also really fun watching the three electricians work together. Each of them contributing their ideas on how to approach the install and how to divvy up the work. They were very respectful of each other, which was so nice to see- whether master electrician, journeyman or apprentice, Ryan, Brandon 1 and Brandon 2 were a great team and we would highly recommend any and all of them for your electrical needs.

Joe and Brandon were incredibly helpful and informative. I called them in for a few minor things, but part of their protocol is doing a full wiring inspection. Thankfully they did, and caught many things that needed updating. One item in particular was a priority and they were able to take care of it in an hour. They also walked me through a variety of future packages and options along with pricing for making updates to my older home’s wiring. They then send that to your email along with financing info so you can weigh your options for any future work you need done. I really appreciate their safety first mentality and will be definitely using them again when the time comes.

Unlike some companies who send an estimator and then set up a second appointment for the work that needs to be done, they came prepared to discuss options for the work needed (I had four projects), provided a detailed estimate for each project, and then started right in on the projects I decided to do (three of the four). I will definitely use Edison Electric (especially Ryan and Alan) for any future needs.

Needed a GFCI replaced and a bedroom outlet fixed (only 1 of 2 plugins were operational). Ryan and another guy came out and completed the job in 20 minutes. I called Deans Home Services come out the week before to get a quote for the same job but declined them. Their price was quite a bit higher and the persistent haggling from their electrician was nearing obscene. Ryan/other guy are both top-notch dudes. Will definitely keep these guys in mind for the future.

I called 4 different companies, some of which put me on a list for the next day and one which scheduled me for the mid morning. Edison called at 7:15am and was able to get an electrician out at 8:30. Granted, we were lucky as his original job cancelled. Sam did a wonderful job and also changed out all our old smoke alarms and looked at the back outside lights which stopped working and figured out it was just that we had the wrong bulb type. More was done than I expected but it was probably all necessary. Now our alarms wont beep randomly even though we had changed the battery a few months ago.

They may not be the cheapest in town, but I know they will always do a great job.

This is what a Minnesota business should be like: friendly, kind-hearted, professional and reasonable. We moved into a home and decided to upgrade our amperage. Edison Electric took care of it and even did several additional things which we hadnt thought about ahead of time. They doubled our amperage from 100 to 200, installed an electric car charger in our garage, activated the fan in our attic which had been disconnected, rewired our breaker box in the basement to be up-to-par and safe, and even put in an extra under-counter power outlet in our bathroom!We are so happy with how it was all handled and with their professionalism and attention to detail. Joe arrived on time, was very professional, pleasant, listened and completed the portion of the job I needed done! Im not a fan of *bundled* options, but this may be the wave of the future. I thought the price was somewhat high, for what I had done, but again it was a struggle to find a company for a smaller task. If I were on a fixed income I would have had to pass. Overall it was great, I just feel all services cost more, post covid and I am hopeful they will balance out.

Sam and his apprentice were professional, friendly, and respectful, and I was very comfortable having them in my home as a single women. They explained everything clearly without being condescending and answered a host of questions. They were able to get me in faster than originally thought by about two weeks. Sam and Brandon quickly fixed the problem I had (non-working receptacle due to broken wire in the wall) and fixed another thing (non-functional three-way switches because the hot and neutral were switched in the light fixture) while they were there. They even did a walk-through inspection, which I would recommend to any homeowner as a matter of safety. I was very happy with the total bill, which was under $200- they asked before doing extra work that increased the bill above the $79 trip charge. They gave me a list of safety issues but didnt pressure me to hire them to fix them, which I appreciated, and even gave me some guidance for when Im doing my own minor projects. Im a big proponent of DIY electrical, but I know when Ive met my limit, and it was very worth it to have Sam out to fix the things beyond my skill level and help me identify the next projects that need to be done. Absolute king.The long version:We knew our house was in need of some extensive electrical work, but we had more-or-less made our peace with the oddly byzantine wiring scheme, dimly lit basement, and kitchen lights flickering to the beat of the washing machine. When we started getting shocked by the faucet handle in the shower, we knew we couldnt put it off any longer.We called a few electricians for assessments and estimates; Ryan from Edison Electric distinguished himself immediately. The other guys spent about 30 minutes looking around before giving an estimate and leaving. Ryan, on the other hand, spent nearly 4 hours crawling around with a multimeter, testing circuits, asking questions, and taking notes. Ryan explained everything in detail, gave us a few options, and made himself available for further questions as needed. It was beyond obvious that he was the guy for the job.We hired Ryan/Edison to rewire every circuit which was still using the original cloth insulated wiring - which was most of the house. We also got a new panel, updated and repaired the outside connection, new light fixtures in the kitchen and basement, and additional outlets in the basement workshop. Everything is working beautifully. His suggestions for lighting in the basement were spot on - he really knows his stuff, and the whole space is so much more usable. Through all of it, Ryan, Brandon, and Chris were friendly, communicative, patient, timely, and thorough.They fixed every single one of our issues and much, much more. The finished product is impeccably clean and solid, and came in not a penny over their estimated budget. Couldnt have asked for a better contractor - Im not sure a better contractor even exists.Oh, and the shower isnt trying to kill us anymore.Thank you!

I was given two estimates, around the same price and scope of work, but I chose Edison electric because of how Ben handled the first appointment. He came in, kind and eager to explain everything in a way I could understand. It didn’t feel like he was trying to sell me an expensive fix. As the job started he realized some wiring was newer and recommended leaving it, making the job CHEAPER, and quicker than the estimate, by THOUSANDS. Over two weeks I saw honesty, patience, and persistence from them; that’s the type of people you want doing your electrical work. Something needed fixing after the job was done and he came back to remedy the issue for free which is a huge relief and a true sign of a good person/business. (Ben even fixed my kitchen cabinet 😂)

Communication was great and setting up an appointment was simple. Due to some weather they received a large volume of emergency calls and clearly communicated there would be a delay in my appointment time, but they were actually still able to arrive towards the end of the window originally provided.Once at my home, it was clear that Ryan understand my needs and he was able to call in backup to complete the work in the time frame I requested. I felt as though they were knowledgeable and respectful throughout the entire process and did a great job of explaining my options and diagnosing my issues.I cant comment on pricing as I didnt get a quote from another company. I would suspect they may be on the high end, but you get what you pay for.
