    Great service. Straight forward and honest about what was needed. Provided a temporary solution to make the panel safe until the replacement could be found. Even recommended I have insurance pay since they identified the issue as storm damage. Saved me a a ton of cash on replacement of our 30 yr old service panel. Came on time and finished early. Would highly recommend.

    We had such a good experience with this company! Very happy with the fantastic work they did and quick reply’s from everyone ! Nate, Jake and the team were especially helpful and quick in redoing our electrical box and upgrading to a 200amp service, as well as replacing the underground cables in the yard! I also really appreciated the thorough explanation of all the work that was done! Fantastic, kind, and knowledgeable staff! Couldn’t have gone better! Thank you!

    Nathan came out and installed a replacement ceiling fan/light fixtures in my dining room to match the one previously installed in my living room. He installed stacker switches so the fan and light operate on independent switches. I also had a stacker switch installed for my bedroom fan/light. I would highly recommend this company. They are honest, fair priced, and do quality work!

    I had to have all of my recessed lights replaced in my condo unit, as well as new smoke/CO2 detectors installed, and Advantage did a great job! I was even out of town while they were here, and came back to have the project all finished and everything looking great. The team communicated really well throughout the entire process from the initial assessment through the completion of the work, and everyone was super friendly and helpful and answered all of my questions. I had a very positive experience from start to finish!

    Brooks and Bill with Advantage Electric installed an EV charger at our place. Communication was super, service was on time and efficient, pricing and recommendations were discussed in advance, and both were mindful of our home by using booties when inside. They presented a number of solutions with our existing electrical service that would improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and safety of the system overall. We felt very cared for by their team!

    This company saved us big time. They were the only company to answer their phone at 3am and came out in the morning when the electricians came in. They got us back up with a temporary fix and came out as soon as they could to replace our home’s electrical box. They did a fantastic job. I would rate this company 10 out of 10 if I could.     I cant say enough good things about this business. They are simply outstanding and you cannot go wrong calling on them for your electrical needs. I needed someone to come to our condo in Saint Paul within a couple of days to wire a range hood and dishwasher that were part of a kitchen remodel. Not only did they fit us into their schedule the day after I called, but the job turned out to be more than I thought when I explained it on the phone. They sent over a second electrician and the two of them were here most of the day. They got everything done and did it in a highly professional and friendly way. I have found my electricians for all my future electrical needs - Advantage Electric!

    We had a power outage in half the home, tried resetting breakers nothing worked. Called Advantage and they told us to call Excel before coming out. Excel got here and told us there is an outage to about 12 homes in our neighborhood. Advantage was spot on helpful and our power was restored in an hour. If you need electric assistance I would highly recommend Advantage .

    Advantage Electric is kind, professional, and thorough! Two electricians (Jake and Griffin) updated the electrical in my kitchen. They were both easy going and excellent at communicating. They are both animal lovers and chatted about my cats, which was very kind. It was a delight to have them in my home. They were honest about what needed to be done and went above and beyond to get the work done, even when it proved more complicated than expected. Griffin even fixed a few things (with no extra charge), like installing new bulbs and several pull chains for my basement lights. I will hire Advantage Electric again for future electrical needs and recommend them to anyone!

    Had an emergency at my shop - lost all power coming in - and after many calls on a holiday weekend (I completely understand and hold no grudges) we got through to this company and without question did everything he could and then some to help us out. Problem is solved and crisis had been averted within a matter of probably an hour. Easy fix with some hard to find parts but did everything he could to find them.

    I called Advantage after a big storm went through and I was left with half of my lights out of order. The staff were very efficient, helpful and personable and scheduled me in FOR THAT DAY even though they had their team out helping everyone and their mother after the storm. I was able to get my situation fixed before their electrician came to me, and I was refunded the fee for a call out (which I was not expecting at all!) I was very impressed with the way my situation was handled and I’ll definitely be calling them in the future if I need electrical work done! Thank you!!

    We have been using Advantage Electric for the past several months to update a new (old) home with proper electrical. We bought the house while living out of state, sight unseen. Despite having no idea what to expect, Advantage helped us identify all the problems with our old wiring (knob and tube, missing outlets, etc.). They also helped us figure out what we would want for the house, walking us through (via phone and FaceTime) every outlet, light switch, fixture, room, etc. and providing recommendations about what we should add. This was SO wonderful because it meant that we came back to a home with enough switches, outlets, light fixtures, etc. It also meant everything was done at once and we did not have to start a whole new set of projects (which includes fixing plaster walls) again. And it was way beyond the job we initially asked them to do. It was just so incredibly kind and helpful.The work itself was excellent, too. Everything looks perfect, works perfectly. We’ve continued to work with them on new projects, and they consistently impress. They are efficient and respectful of our house. They also explain how everything works, so we know what to expect. I genuinely really enjoy learning from and talking to them.I personally talked to Chris and Nick, who were both fantastic. Ashley in the front office is so helpful and so, so kind. What a wonderful team!I cannot say enough to recommend Advantage. They may cost more than another random electrician, but they are worth absolutely every penny for professionalism, reliability, and skill.     Fantastic service! We hired them to come in to do a complete replacement of our knob and tube wiring. They were extremely competent in their work. Having an old house with lots of quirks did not stop them from getting the job done. I would recommend them to anybody looking to get electrical work done!

    I waited 3 days with another electrical service provider for emergency electrical service. They strung me along until they finally admitted it would be another week before they got to me. I called Advantage and stated I had an emergency. They came out the next morning and fixed the numerous issues I had. My service provider Chris was very knowledgeable and efficient. He correctly diagnosed my problems and one by one fixed them. He was pleasant, very polite, and explained what the problems were and what was needed to fix them.     After our house was struck by lightning, Advantage was the only company to answer their phone, despite others advertising 24 hour service. The owner of the company came out personally, got us hooked back up and then walked us through what we needed for a permanent fix. Shortly after, two techs came and upgraded our entire service. They were communicative, friendly and knowledgeable. Would HIGHLY recommend their services.

    We called Advantage Electric when we came home from vacation and our electrical line was ripped away from the house by a tree falling during a storm. Griffin came out a couple hours later (on the weekend), was friendly and communicative, and then Chris and Brooks ended up coming out to do the fix. They did an awesome job and everyone we have interacted with (Anna and Ashley in the office included) was extremely pleasant and easy to work with.

    I can’t say enough good things about this company. Their dispatch team was friendly and fast while I was PANICKING about some unfinished work. They got here super quickly so I could expedite opening my business. Jake was VERY helpful and informative!When I mentioned future work, he took the time to scope out what the project will entail. Jake did a great job estimating the work and giving me an accurate quote with options to remove pieces to save money. Jason, Griffin, Mark, and Chris all helped out throughout two days to complete all the work; dealing with annoying old home things well. They kept me informed throughout the process of what was happening and was considerate of power outages affecting wi-fi in case I was working from home on a call. There was a bit of miscommunication with the scheduling of the inspection but they were very responsive to my questions. Will definitely recommend and use Advantage again in the future.

    I had an emergency and they were third call trying to reach other 24/7 electric care. They called back in a few minutes of messaging them. It was 3 hours for one of the other companies and 2 hours for the other one to call me back. My issue was resolved before those return calls. I appreciated the promptness. The company followed up after to check on my service experience. This company is efficient, compassionate to the emergent situation, polite and great to work with. I recommend them without reservation.

    Had an outlet burn / flames shoot out when plugging in a vacuum - called and was immediately helped by Kala who answered and pulled one of their electricians off a job to come investigate. Chris who was working 5 min away could not have been nicer or more helpful. I would highly recommend this company, reasonably priced and friendly. I actually heard about this company via a friend recommendation who had used them in the past.

    I cannot say enough good things about Advantage Electric. A tree fell down on our electrical wire in the evening after hours. Called AE, and a tech was at our house before Xcel Energy had even left. They were SO professional and kind throughout the entire process, explaining exactly what needed to be done. And they worked late into the evening to get our power back on. Informed us of the inspection with the city, and coordinated with us on billing and insurance claim. They are great!!!!

    I had a great experience with Advantage Electric when upgrading my electrical service to 200 amps in a 1949 St. Louis Park home. Griffin and his crew were very efficient, friendly and took the time to answer any and all questions we had. He even offered to run power to our router while we were without electricity so we could get some work done. I would absolutely recommend Advantage and will surely consider them for any future electrical projects I have around the house!

    We recently had Advantage Electric install an electric dryer outlet. The communication, people, and service were excellent! Starting off with Anna from scheduling to Mark and Nate for the installation. After the dryer arrived and later plugged in, the circuit tripped. A quick call to Anna had her contacting the electricians for guidance. Brook thought it was likely how the power cord was installed. I sent a photo of the the cord connections and it came back with that something looked incorrect with the ground. Set up another appointment to have this corrected. But, with this information and the manual, we were able to correct the cord and that fixed the issue and canceled this appointment. Truly appreciated the time taken to assure that we had a working dryer in no time, especially since the error with the cord was not done by them. Fantastic service and we will call them again!

    I had a wonderful experience with Advantage! Jake was very knowledgeable and reasonable in regards to pricing & was able to schedule me right away. Zach and Brooks did the work and it was outstanding! They worked all day to install a new meter and mast on my house. I got a quote for an additional new exterior light installation & had it partially installed, they noticed an issue with the existing wiring and will return to fix the issue for added peace of mind. Customer service was paramount and I’m happy to hire them to further investigate my wiring issue. Very much appreciate their hard work and all around good vibes.

    Brooks was Extremely Friendly, Professional, Efficient and On Time. We lost power in the bathroom only and he did a full Safety check of fuse panel and all the outlets in the house. He found the problem updated the outlet and lights witch as well as another that was in poor condition. He also advised to update for Safety( not an immediate issue) a few areas which we will do another day for sure! They were extremely flexible with trying to meet our date and time constraints.Brooks was very helpful in advising us about Safety when and if we use extension cords as well as other additional lighting and light switch issues.We will use again without a doubt and refering our Friends 100%

    Came home to my parents’ house tonight and couldnt get into the garage because there was no power. I thought it was just to the whole house but soon realized I had power in the main part of the house so I went to the electrical panel and without looking flipped the switch back on but found out the hard way when I went back upstairs into the kitchen and started smelling something electrical burning. I then noticed that the light switch receptacle to the kitchen sink overhead light was smoking and in fact, the face plate had melted and there was smoke on the wall around it. After turning all the switches off and removing the face plate and disconnecting the switch, I called the emergency electrical services number and when I spoke with Chris and Bill on separate calls, they were both very understanding about my fear of wondering if I really had the right switches turned back off and would there be fire to the insulation or wiring. Bill responded to my emergency request and arrive quickly after our conversation and was able to diagnose the issue and provide a new switch and face plate. This type of professionalism, empathy, kindness, and generosity that I experienced from Bill and Chris are why I will continue to contact this company for any further electrical issues that I might encounter. I will definitely be providing this company as a contact for anyone of my acquaintances that might need any electrical work performed.

    Had a fire start in an outlet quite unexpectedly on a Sunday night and we are so thankful to have found Advantage Electric through a Google search. They were able to send Jake out to our house within the hour, and though there was a fee for emergency weekend service, it was more than fair and Jake was able to quickly understand our issue and get us taken care of the same evening.We had a follow-up visit to resolve a few more issues at the non-weekend rate yesterday, Monday 11/21 and had both Chris and Bill at our home to work through the absolute rats nest that is our homes wiring. Chris and Bill very quickly resolved a number of issues with our homes internal wiring and also identified that when we had our electric service panel replaced/upgraded in July of 2020 that the other company we used for that work not only did not do the work correctly, they did it in a dangerous manner that is not safe, legal, or up to code.Bill and Chris took the time to explain not only what was wrong with how our new panel was installed by the previous company, but also explained why it is dangerous in a way that I understood. They very quickly rewired the outlet that burned up in the house, running new wire all the way from the bedroom down to our service panel faster than I thought possible. The entire time they were at our home they treated us exceptionally well and I felt like I was talking to friends Ive known for years and not people that before yesterday were complete strangers to me. After they resolved our issues and left, I got a call from their office almost immediately and was told that Bill was so concerned about what he found at our home that he wanted to make sure I had some additional information so I can follow up with not only the previous electrical contractors we used for our panel replacement, but also so that I can follow up with the inspector that passed the work without taking a look at how the wiring was connected from the meter down into the service panel. They even took the time to provide the name and phone number of the electrical inspector that covers our town so that we can follow up. They even found the permit number for when we had the work performed back in July of 2020. This is so far above and beyond the service Ive received from other vendors in this area over the past 7 years that I will recommend Advantage Electric to all friends and family that need any work done in the area.This company treated us like people that they cared about, not just another customer. That is exceedingly rare, and we will absolutely be repeat customers.

    Thank goodness for Advantage Electric. Jake was amazing! We were in the process of selling my parents house and needed the mast and meter replaced. I was trying to get the repairs covered by insurance due to our last big snow storm. State Farm didnt feel there was adequate proof to pay the claim. Jake went out of his way and sent pictures and extra information to State Farm to try and help me.     Hands down one of the best experiences Ive had with any home service company! Heres why:We wanted simple outdoor outlets installed on our deck (for lights, music, etc.) so we called one of Advantages large competitors first and I was informed that codes changed in 2020 and I needed an additional circuit run to the garage. Unfortunately, this is a fact. However, I was then given 7 options (yes, 7) ranging from $7,000 (to use the last circuit on my 200A panel and install a measly 2 outlets on the deck) to $25,000 (installation of 3 new panels that could power our house using lightning from the heavens) and they said, Well go wait in our van for 15 minutes while you decide which option you want and then we can get to work. Clearly, I told the salesmen thanks but no thanks and paid them the $59 for their insulting sales pitch and declined their offer.I then scoured Google for honest reviews and Advantage stood out as the clear winner based on other customers experiences. I called their very polite scheduler and within an hour Oneida (manager) called me just to ask more detailed questions about the job (like how on earth I have an almost full 200A panel -- and yes, it was almost full). Jake comes and is the utmost professional, used electrical terms that I could understand, and was there to help us FIX our problems vs. SELL us something. He problem solved our current electrical needs and what wed use in the future (I.e. kitchen remodel, installing a garbage disposal, and plugging in hybrid vehicles using Level II chargers). Their quote to solve our problems was literally 1/3 the price of the Cadillac option given by their competitors and based on the integrity displayed by Oneida and Jake alone, we went with Advantage. When Zack and his crew came to install the work, they were all super professional, respectful, and did the job as stated (and in the cold, damp weather!).The city inspector just left our house and he said the work is of really great quality. He was impressed and so are we.     Unlike other electricians, Advantage Electric let me know up front exactly what rates they would charge for which services. Zach arrived within the scheduled service window and replaced the ballast element in my fluorescent lighting fixture in record time, all within the first hour. Zach had to get the replacement 40W T12 2-4ft lamps ballast from the nearest Home Depot and only marked up the part $20 over Home Depots retail price. Other electricians will mark the parts up 100% and more. Altogether, Im very impressed with the speed, quality, and NOT being gouged with excessive replacement part(s) mark-up for my fluorescent lighting fixture repair from Advantage Electric.

    Jake was very professional and very informative.     I had a partial outage at my house at 10 PM on a Sunday and was worried it was due to a problem with my electrical panel. After a quick Google search, I saw that Advantage was open 24 hours and gave them a call. Someone picked up almost immediately, and they forwarded my information to the electrician on call who got back to me within 15 minutes or so. I talked through the issue with him for a few minutes, and since I still had power on some circuits (most importantly the furnace) he advised that I wait rather than paying the weekend fee, and referred my info back to the office where they would call me back as soon as normal business hours started.That ended up being the right call, as I was able to test the panel with a voltmeter in the morning and found that one of the service legs had gone out. When Advantage called me back, they suggested that I report this to Xcel and have them troubleshoot, which I did. It turned out to be a bad connection at the pole, which Xcel replaced quickly to restore full power.Though I did not actually require any service from Advantage, I found it very reassuring to be able to call someone about a major issue like this at odd hours, and more so that they were very professional in their assistance. I appreciate that they were measured in their response and not overly quick to send someone out just to get a little business from me, despite that I was a little panicked, as the cost would have been significant (though fair). Because of that, they will be at the top of my list when I need assistance in the future either for emergency or planned service. It is also especially nice to be able to get service like this from a small, local business.

    Im a fairly new home owner, having just purchased my first house in June of 2019. A couple weeks ago, a heavy storm came through Minneapolis with very high winds and a Tornado Warning. I called Advantage Electric because the wind pulled the mast for my metered power line off of my house and the lines were sagging down into my yard and laying on my garage roof. I was beyond stressed because I was quoted a $2,000 to $3,000 fix for this by Brenna, who was manning the phones and scheduling work orders. She was super kind and explained everything to me as Ive never dealt with this before. They were even willing to be flexible for payment and willing to hold a check in order to process my homeowners insurance reimbursement (if needed).Bill was one of the electricians who I spoke with who narrowed my price range down to $2390. Due to the amount of customers that Advantage was working with, I was on the list for later in the day (No problem at all, my power was still working and my house was fully functional), and Bill followed up with a phone call later in the afternoon/early evening to reassure me that I was not forgotten, and my repair would be made that day, they were just swamped with work orders.Within a few hours of that call, the mast was repaired and everything was good as new.This was my first time dealing with something like this, and the team at Advantage Electric was super helpful, willing to explain things, and pretty great in speed and quality of work.
