I hired McGinnis Heating and Cooling based off of a referral, and Im glad I did. I had a large job that I needed someone to do, and most companies I call did not have the experience or expertise. But McGinnis did, and they did a wonderful job. A totally new construction install of a HVAC system, and it works like a charm!

My first encounter with McGinnis Heating & Cooling was over seven years ago when I called about my AC unit in my residence. When Darrell came out, he was very knowledgeable about what needed to be done to fix the problem I was having with my unit. There was no, “Well, we can try this, or let’s see if that works.” He explained several options I could take that would resolve my situation and explained the pros and or cons for each option. He did not over charge me or try to sell me items I did not need. Of course I went with the cheapest option, times were hard for me at that time. I was so impressed with Darrell’s work and prices, that I still call on McGinnis Heating & Cooling for all my HVAC needs.They recently completed an entire HVAC system install for my commercial business. So, I can testify that they can handle residential and commercial jobs. They also clean up behind themselves.I have watched this business grow substantially over the years. Sometimes when businesses grow, they tend to lose their quality of service and their focus on making sure that their customer is satisfied with the service they were provided. This did not happen with McGinnis Heating & Cooling. It seems that the more they grow the more efficient and personable their team gets. Doing an entire commercial buildout was no walk in the park. Darrell worked very hard to make sure everything was up and running for our opening. McGinnis Heating & Cooling continues to be the service provider for our HVAC systems. I highly recommend!

The guys came at the time they said they would would. They put their covers over their shoes and went straight to work. I asked them if they needed anything they said that they got it. In just a few hours I had a new furnace and central air unit. All the work look neat and professional they tested all the equipment and cleaned up very neatly. I have only positive things to say about my experiences with McGinnis Heating and Cooling. They are professional, honest, and always have gone the extra mile to make sure that my heating and cooling needs are met.I have been using McGinnis for a couple of years now and have been very satisfied with their work. I initially called them after my furnace stopped heating and my existing HVAC service provider at the time did not resolve the issue. The old HVAC provider said that there was a short & seemed to fix the issue by replacing the outdoor thermostat for $600; then when the furnace stopped heating again 2 days later, they said that I needed to get the short fixed by getting an electrician to replace the low voltage wiring. They also recommended after the new wire is pulled, I should have them install a new dual-fuel digital non-programmable thermostat and outdoor sensor for $1,500.When I called an electrician & he suggested that I call another HVAC service provider since they normally should be able to replace low-voltage wiring, I contacted McGinnis. Darrell, the owner, was able to locate & fix the short and charged me a total of $211 for his services (basically for replacing the indoor thermostat). In the time Darrell and his team have been handling my HVAC maintenance needs, they have always been courteous and professional. I highly recommend using them.

A friend of mine recommended Darrell after another HVAC company suggested we have all of our duct work removed and replaced. Darrell came out, diagnosed our issue, and suggested a different approach-- using the ducts we had, but stretching them to make them more efficient and removing a return that the previous homeowner had installed in the master bathroom.Darrell quoted us a very reasonable price, and came out to do the work a couple days later. A few hours after the work was complete, for the first time in 3 1/2 years, we had balanced airflow across our house. Darrell also gave us suggestions about using our air handlers more efficiently.I HIGHLY recommend McGinnis and I owe my friend a nice dinner for recommending McGinnis to me.

I called 3 or 4 other heating and cooling companies neither of them answered the phone but when I gave McGinnis heating and cooling a call they answered the phone. When I told the gentleman what issues I was having I understood when I called it was late and he probably couldn’t stop by to see what the problem. But the gentleman took the time out of his lunch/dinner break to walk threw the steps while on the phone to fix my situation. So if I had to recommend a heating/cooling company I wouldn’t think twice on who to call. McGinnis heating and cooling is who I’m calling because I know their going to take care of me. Our A/C went out one Saturday night. Mr. McGinnis came out the same night and put some refrigerant in free of charge, so my family of 4 didn’t have to sleep in 90 degree heat. I knew it was a temporary fix because my system was old and refrigerant was leaking. As soon as we decided which new HVAC system we wanted installed, Mr. McGinnis and his son were out here the next day installing it. He does great work at a fair price and I’d definitely recommend him and his son for any HVAC work.

My heater broke on a Saturday, tried fixing it myself and could not get it running. Called a few different places and most could not make it out until Monday or wanted an outrageous fee to come on a Sunday. McGinnis not only came out first thing Sunday but their service fee was the cheapest of all the place I called that could only come during normal business hours. The service tech tried to help me troubleshoot on the phone based on my error code which was far more than any other company I called even asked about. He had a couple steps to try which unfortunately did not work but I appreciated them trying to save me a visit.He called 15 minutes before the appointment to let me know he was on his way and showed up right on time. He figured out what was wrong pretty quick, which was my safety shut off was faulty and locking out my system falsely. He did not have the part with him but managed to show me that the rest of the system worked just fine while the safety was temporarily disconnected. He set up another appointment for the next morning to replace the part for me but checked over my whole system very thoroughly before leaving to make sure it was clean and in good shape. The next morning he texted me when he was on his way and showed up right around the appointment time. Part has been replaced and my heat is working perfectly again. The prices quoted seemed cheaper than most other places I called, and the technician was always very friendly and professional. Not to mention their appointment windows are very specific (one hour) so I was not left waiting around forever wondering when they would arrive. I would definitely use them again in the future and highly recommend them to others.

I wont go into the details of dealing with the home warranty company, which was a negative experience.I would like to thank McGinnis Heating and Air for being thorough, responsive and good on their word. They could have easily thrown up their hands and decided not to deal with the labyrinth of bull**** consistently dealt by the home warranty company, but they didnt. Darrell was cool, patient and knowledgeable. If it wasnt for the professionalism he exhibited this would have been a real hopeless situation (nightmare). My parents had saved up for months to go on vacation, and low and behold the day before they’re supposed to leave, in 95 degree weather, our air conditioner stops working. With my 80 year old grandpa living in the house, it wasn’t impossible for them to not fix the air conditioning ASAP. My mom was so worried we were going to have to replace the whole unit, which means they would not be able to go on vacation.I got on google, and looked up air conditioning companies that were open. McGinnis wasn’t the first one I saw, but it had the highest ratings. I’m so glad I called him. He was so nice and came out immediately, even though he was supposed to be taking his wife out to eat (she came aswell, and she was just as nice as him). He has amazing kindness and found and fixed the problem in under an hour. Other companies via phone had already tried to pressure us into getting a whole new system, but he tried to save us as much money by fixing the problem ASAP. Kind, respectful, trusting service. He was so nice and respectful. We will definitely be repeat customers.
