    Longview-Kelso & vicinity dudes. Listen to this advice if you don’t want to be robbed blind – assuming you even find a company that shows up (I had two no-shows, both from friendly companies that had provided reasonable quotes, LOL).Bob Vodjansky, Owner, is great, friendly and does professional, quiet, focused work. If you love contractors choppin’ it up with war stories, Bob is the reverse. Quiet professionalism.There are actually two great tips in this review. Bob is tip #1.Tip # 2. Bob fixed a horrendous foul-up as a direct result of Home Depot’s phony contractor network. Depot says ‘online,’ they vet only the best professionals, but nothing could be farther from the truth. My contractor did all the work wrong, put a huge hole in the (back-plane?) with a drill, going through drywall in places, and apparently didn’t have the right tools so the faucets stripped out over time. Despite Depot saying if the worst thing happens and the contractor goes out of business or screws up royally, the local store will help, NOPE. In fairness to the local store, most folks there are professionals who DO say that contractors “come and go” (out of business) and that no one at the store was authorized to say the store would bail you out in dire circumstances. Shame on me for being a hard-headed guy that let his guard down for one instant. CAN’T DO THAT in Longview. Not for a single instant.The store couldn’t help. Corporate WOULDN’T help. They said in writing (I have the email) the vendor who screwed up didn’t exist, so the local store found proof of that company at time of install, LOL. Still, corporate told me they wouldn’t help – though they were “extremely sorry.” The mean old Washington AG’s office did the trick after I brought my complaint. Depot corporate, Georgia, refunded me the maximum they say they ever return.After I got my check from corporate Home Depot, two ‘handy-men’ came out and provided very reasonable quotes but no-showed. A third forgot to get back to me and admitted as much. So kudos at least for honesty. I called other plumbers in the Longview area who said “sorry, way below our minimum.” One wanted 90 bucks to provide a quote. I called Gallows and Smith and Bob quoted me a full 1/3 less than two already reasonable quotes! Except those other two no-showed. Bob arranged an appointment within a matter of days.I had the tubing and new faucets that I’d ordered on Depot’s dime waiting. Bob scoped out the terrible work the original, clown installer had done, and in two hours was done. This was NOT an easy install and what Bob charged me elevates him to superstar status.If you have any brains at all, you’re aware of how crooked Longview trades are... Here’s your best and first X-Mas 2024 gift, from me, Allan. Call Bob first. If you don’t - prepare for blatant robbery type prices and multiple no-shows. I’m not saying this with any humorous intent by the way.Note, Bob did not repair the drywall as I didnt ask him to. As the hole in drywall just missed being a problem, a repair wasnt indicated. Bob replaced faucets and installed tubing after very carefully scoping out the job.

    I called all around to find someone to fix my massive leak in the waterline in the yard. Gallow & Smith were the first who could come. They did a great job of beating expectations by being early and doing the job for a very reasonable price. Ill remember them next time Ive had some plumbing that needs doing.

    Ingrid who answered our call for an appointment was friendly and communicated well on time frame availability. We called Friday, Bob came as promised on Monday and solved our plumming issues quickly. He was very helpful! When we need help in the future this is the company we will call.

    Marvin and Bob re-piped our entire house, replacing all the old original galvanized with PEX, and we are very pleased at both the professional result and the cost. They also dug up a basement drain in order to move it, so that it would not be under a planned closet. After digging it up, they discovered that an original cast iron Y connection had rotted through. The replaced the Y, and routed the drain away from the closet area.We are novices at having this kind of heavy work done, and Marvin patiently helped us figure things out, and patiently worked with us when we changed our minds about a couple of items. We will have a larger project of cutting up practically an entire section of the pad in the location of a planned basement bathroom and shower, which will require relocated the existing toilet flange, shower drain, and vanity plumbing, as well as replacing galvanized vent risers and cast iron sewer connections. I will happily trust them with this heavy work.

    I was able to get a same day appointment for an unknown water leak. The technician, Bob, was friendly and worked hard to identify the source. I definitely would recommend their services!

    Gallow & Smith where the second bid I received for my kitchen plumbering issues. The frist was going to be over $1000 and a week or 2 before getting started. Bob came out looked at it and quoted around $300 and asked if I wanted him to fix it then and there. I was extremely happy with the service, work and friendliness of Gallow & Smith. They will forever be my go to plumbers. Thank you!
