When he was done, his work area was left clean. The installation was successful. It works and looks great. I would enthusiastically recommend Cooper and look forward to working with them again on a remediation project for my circuit box.

We needed to upgrade our home electric service from 100 amp to 200 amp, to include adding EV charging station outside. Our contractor was Cooper Electric. Their team was excellent. Nathan, Greg. John, and other that we met specified and installed the work, considering options for the best result and demonstrated meticulous attention to details. Day 1 was upgrade the service. They arrived in two trucks at precisely 8am as planned .( It was much appreciated to know exactly when power outage would occur). The power was back on as planned by 5pm! Day 2, John arrived 8am sharp and added the branch circuit for EV Charging. All installed and operational before 5pm! The patient work and no nonsense attitude of these pros was impressive. The work looks beautiful, too! Highest recommendation!

We have a 32-year-old Drees home. We were having problems with our power going out in our bathrooms when one of the family used a hair dryer. If escalated to also cutting power to the refrigerator out in the garage. Cooper Electric has a good reputation in our area so we called them and setup an appointment. The technician (John) called ahead to let us know he was on the way. He was timely, courteous, efficient, knowledgeable (answering all my questions) and fix the issue. We defiantly recommend Cooper Electric!

Our home had very outdated wiring and main panel box/service (60+ years old) and we were about to install rooftop solar system and an EV home charger. We were paired/referred to Cooper for the EV charger through auto dealer rebate incentive.Cooper did an excellent job, had to charge me a bit more than the flat rate standard package due to the age and layout, though Id anticipated this and had other similar quotes.A few things Ill point out that especially impressed me (and minor dings):--Once I was finally referred to them/first contact with them, the process was fast, efficient, professional, everything on time.--The person that came to my home for the inspection prior to preparing the quote was quite familiar with EV chargers and codes/permit process, recognized my charger could be installed two very different ways, expressed a strong recommendation with good reasons. EVs are still alien tech in my area so I expected Id have to educate the installer, definitely was not the case here.--The process was as close to turnkey as I could possibly expect--one visit for the quote/measurements, half a day to install, one mandatory inspection, they handled all permits and paperwork.--My ancient service and breaker panel was clearly a problem both for solar installation and EV charger and would require coordinating with Duke Energy for a service upgrade as well. This would have been extremely expensive through ANY electrician but I managed to get it through my solar installer at cost. This meant that Cooper would be coordinating the EV installation around the solar project for timing and to make sure the proper breaker for the EV would be included in the panel. Coopers installer arrived the same day as the solar installation, worked closely with the solar crew, even helped them debug a wiring problem in my home lines.--Two very minor dings, though, related to installers lack of familiarity with my specific brand/model of charger, though thats partially on me as I had bought the GM charger with the GM car rather than much more common aftermarket brands. The installer had no prior experience with the model (relatively new/latest tech) and it took a couple hours longer (no extra charge) than expected. In his haste to finish up, he didnt have time to boot up the software and make sure I paired/configured it, and I didnt discover until after hed left that the pairing process requires the serial number, which is etched on the back of the cover panel which hed proudly told me was now freshly bonded and sealed. It took me 30 minutes working with GM support to have them track down my serial/pairing code. He also has recommended the permanent/wall mount option, in part because it would support higher amp/faster service, but failed to use a high enough amp breaker to support it, giving me only standard power/speed. I easily swapped out the breaker later, though this is obviously not something most homeowners would be comfortable doing (and I verified the wire used was sufficient and to code).Overall, though, highly satisfied and highly recommended. Just be prepared for a very retro, AM-radio vibe if you call the office for an appointment or scheduling :-)

Extremely impressed! They have a very kind courteous team.I used Cooper Electric on my house for a service cable replacement and meter base replacement on the exterior of my house. Water was making its way into my basement electrical panel and they were able to fix it.From scheduling an estimate to the end of project completion I was very impressed with how well they communicated. I received follow ups and reminders leading up to the completion of the project and felt valued as a customer.Richard did a wonderful job on the estimate and answered some extra questions I had too, Nathan completed the work and arrived early and hustled the entire time he was here. They cleaned up my yard and basement after finishing which was appreciated.

After buying a mid-century home, we started noticing some electrical issues: breakers tripping, outlets not working, lights flickering, etc. We knew the wiring was original, and feared it might need a full re-wire. I remembered my father saying, “Cooper Electric is the best in the city” so I called them.Mike Wood explained to me they could do a complete inspection give us a full report on the house, which was exactly what we wanted. We scheduled it, and they came out quickly. Mike sent his best electrician who specializes in doing the full house inspections, Teddy.Teddy was professional right from the start, sharing his bio and accreditations with me, which put my mind at ease. Teddy was respectful and happy to answer all of my questions in layman’s terms.He arrived at 7:30 each day ready to work, and did not take a long lunch break or leave the job site for anything. He was friendly and obviously very knowledgeable about his trade.The inspection took 2 days, because Teddy thoroughly checked not only the breaker box, but also every single outlet, switch, and fixture with several different instruments! I was impressed. Then he gave us a binder which included a full report of all the issues, including photos showing exactly what the problems were, and descriptions of how they would resolve them. The binder also included a 5-year warranty on their work, and a certification stating it is safe from electrical hazards! The reasonably priced inspection was the best money we ever spent because it gave us complete peace of mind. Best of all, we learned that we did not need a full re-wire of the house, just a lot of minor repairs.Next, Mike Wood came to our home and explained each item in the report. He helped me to prioritize the work and worked within our budget. After making a plan, Mike sent Teddy back out to do the repairs. It took 3 days, but when he was finished we knew all our electric was working properly, was all up to code, and would pass any future inspections if we decide to sell the house. The peace of mind it gave us was priceless, and their charges were fair for the amount of time they put into it.Cooper Electric is extremely trustworthy! The price they charged upon completion of the job was the same as they quoted at the beginning, with the exception of a last minute add-on we requested. When I asked Teddy for an estimate on having an additional outlet installed. He verbally quoted each item saying, “it will be x for the wire per foot, times x feet, and x for the outlet.” He charged the exact amount he verbally quoted.It is with great satisfaction that I highly recommend calling Cooper Electric for any electrical issue you might have. It is great to know everything is working up to code, and we don’t have to worry about it anymore.

They added copper copalum to every wire ending (165 of them!), replaced 9 light fixtures, and did various other work around the house. They were great and called and texted me with comments and questions as things came up. I will use them if I need electrical work in the future.

Greg Hyland, Coopers president, shepherded our project from start to finish, overcoming challenges of an older building with tight spaces. Both he and his staff, especially Nathan, demonstrated exceptional professionalism, expertise, and courtesy to our residents during the course of the project. In addition, Cooper identified a maintenance plan to prevent issues before they arise. And based on our experience with Cooper, we are currently working with them on developing a plan for electrical vehicle charging. Bottom line, Cooper is a first-rate company and comes highly recommended.

I just had a real good experience with Cooper Electric. I have an older home with some older wiring, some of which goes through the house like a plate of spaghetti. Lights for the porch and an outlet in the living room along with two light switches for bedrooms, and an outlet in one of the bedrooms were cycled off and on. Ted located the problem and was finished in about 45 minutes. it was a device on the board that holds the main and served as a junction box. A car within the past two weeks, crashed into a telephone pole with a transformer that served our home. Apparently it sent a power surge that affected the device.

They grounded receptacles, moved outlets, added new junction boxes, ran new wiring for sconces, all for a fair price with guaranteed service. I recently had an emergency electrical problem and needed a same-day fix. Lucky me, my electric panel died on the same day that my basement flooded. Without electricity I couldnt run my sump pump or any drying equipment.Tyler was able to come to my home within a couple of hours and provided a partial power restoration so I could run the important things. He came back a couple of days later for the panel replacement. He explained everything that needed to be done in simple language and I felt completely confident in his advice. He was polite and professional and he really went above-and-beyond the call of duty to make sure power was returned quickly to my sump pump on the very rainy day of the panel replacement.I was so impressed and very grateful. Duke Energy required me to fix a meter block in a five-gang panel which was an older model, impossible to order replacement parts for. The normal solution would be spending thousands of dollars to replace the whole five-gang panel. However Cooper electric found an old meter block and replaced the part in question for a fraction of the cost. They went the extra mile to save me money. Excellent communication and professionalism. Will use them again next time I have electrical work.

I moved from Buffalo two years ago and recently decided to buy a house with my wife in Anderson Township. The inspections turned up that the house had aluminum wiring and with a young son and another on the way we wanted to resolve the safety issue before we moved into the house. At the recommendation of a local builder I was connected with Cooper Electric for the amp copulum method. Starting with getting my quote it was a great experience working with them. I rarely write reviews but Cooper Electric stands out as a business worth reviewing. Ive rarely encountered a company with nearly as good of service and customer support. I felt like my job was handled professionally, and that ultimately the number one goal was for me to be happy as a customer. Good honest professional electricians, what more can you ask for? Would recommend 100%.

We needed to have our entire house converted from aluminum wiring. My call was answered immediately by the owner, Greg. He was friendly. The estimator arrived within a day. Unlike my contact with another electrician, the estimator tallied every outlet (over 100 plus two panels) noting those that were copper and did not need the conversion. Their estimate came in lower than I expected.They scheduled the work to be started in two weeks. Once again we called upon Cooper Electric for some residential work. Tony the Electrician, came to our house right on time and proceeded to install a track light where there previously was no ceiling light. He also installed a chandelier where there was not an existing ceiling light. He worked steadily and even suggested a cool wireless dimmer switch that works beautifully and allows us to switch on the light from both sides of the room. The wireless switch did not require cutting into drywall or fishing wires through the wall. An excellent solution! When he accidentally dropped one of the light bubs, he offered credit for the replacement. They also honored a coupon from Angies List where they have excellent ratings. We are very happy with the service and will call Cooper Electric when we need additional electrical work.

Ive used their services many times for lighting additions in the past and their employees have been prompt and professional. We used an appliance repair company this last time to diagnose an issue we were having, then called Cooper Electric who came in right away and fixed the problem the other company didnt know how to. It was a Saturday and we had to pay a little more so their employee could get paid time and a half. You do get what you pay for, happy employees mean happy customers. I called and spoke with a Greg Hyland after I got off the phone with Duke Energy asking them to come fix an issue with my electricity after the strong winds we had Saturday night causing half my home to be without power. Duke assured me on the phone that their computer showed that my house was receiving 100% power so my issue had to be inside the house itself and was most likely a blown breaker or my electrical box failed and needed to be replaced and that I would need to call and pay an electrician to fix the problem for me. When I explained my problem to Greg over the phone he advised me that the issue I was explaining to him in his opinion was almost certainly the wires coming from the pole outside had been compromised from the strong winds from the night before and before he had one of his electricians come out charge me for work that Duke should be doing and who I already pay to fix these problems every month on my bill that I should call them back and tell them I my electrician said it was the lines coming from the pole were down and make them come and fix it. Greg was absolutely right on 100% and helped me save hundreds of dollars by being honest when Im sure most electricians would have came right out without advice of what to do first. Thank you Greg for all the help and the first time I do need an electrician you will get my business hands down. Much appreciated.

I live in a 115 year old house and Cooper Electric has been my electrical contractor for at least 30 of those years. They know how to work in old homes, know how to find or create a chase for pulling new wire or replacing old knob&tube wire. Most recently, they combined circuits from 2 apartments into a single panel so the house can be converted back to a single family home. They also found a way to wire 3 entry doors for Google Nest doorbell cameras. Dont know what I would do without them.

Cooper Electric repaired all the electrical issues that were on the home inspection report when I bought a house in Mariemont. They came in and performed their own free inspection and did a great jon fixing all the items on the original report plus additional ones that the home inspector had missed. What was incredible is they found out that the property was eligible for a new 220 amp panel from the electric company for free and they coordinated and worked with the electric company in replacing the old 60 amp panel. I realized when talking to Gil and his crew that while they handle small repairs and huge installs for large companies, their high level of service is due to the fact its a family owned business. I highly recommend cooper electric.
