A couple of our electrical outlets stopped working and despite our efforts to reset the GFIs in our home, they simply wouldnt come back on. Acting on a neighbours advice, we reached out to an electrician company, and although we were initially told to expect a week-long wait, they got back to us the very next day, saying they had an available technician. Tracy, the electrician, arrived promptly as scheduled, wearing a mask for safety. He quickly diagnosed the issue, discovering that the previous homeowner had incorrectly wired a breaker. This resulted in an overload, which unfortunately melted one of our outlets. Its a wonder we didnt have a fire. Tracy promptly replaced the damaged outlet and fixed the incorrectly installed breaker, all in a swift and efficient manner. His professionalism was commendable, and we wouldnt hesitate to enlist his services again if the need arises. Highly recommended.

I reached out to Bernard & Sons Electricians for a ceiling fan repair and they provided a more suitable timeframe than other businesses I had contacted, promising to visit on the upcoming Friday rather than the next. However, they ended up coming on the following Monday instead. The electrician, Brayden, was able to identify and rectify the issue swiftly - a switch replacement was needed. Overall, the response time was commendable. The initial cost was a bit shocking as it was around $280 for a diagnosis that took merely a few minutes, with an additional $150 for the switch replacement. It seemed quite steep and I voiced my concern about removing them from my preferred electrician list. After discussing the matter, they reconsidered and labeled the diagnosis as a level 1 instead of level 2, which resulted in a $100 reduction. They hoped this would encourage me to keep them as my go-to electricians in York and to pen down a review. So, here is my experience with them.

For those who appreciate detailed reviews, heres more: Brayden and his team have carried out two separate projects for me while my family is renovating an older home, and I plan to call them back in a few months to rewire our ADU conversion project. The first project involved rewiring a section of the house that previously lacked grounding and removing some outdated knob and tube wiring. The task proved to be a bit more complicated than initially planned, but they took it on with cheerful attitudes and were more than willing to discuss the process with me. The second project was installing a new circuit for a DIY heat pump I wanted to set up myself (except for the power wiring part). They were quick to accommodate me when an appointment was cancelled and ensured the installation was up to code and visually appealing since its an outside box on the street side of the house.

Brayden and Tracy are simply amazing at their job! They first fixed a new brass flush mount recessed floor outlet that looks stunning. Now, my bookcase and sound system sit perfectly over it, concealing it. My 1972 amplifier still performs excellently, and Ive now linked it to a Bluetooth receiver. It can receive audio signals from various devices in the house, including the streaming device, digital TV broadcasts, computers, DVD player, and even mobile phones, all wirelessly. For the digital TV to work, Brayden and Tracy had to install a coaxial cable. Starting from a new brush plate outlet they set up near my old but excellent plasma HDTV, the cable ran up through the wall, across the ceiling (which they reached through a tight attic crawlspace), and down to another new brushplate on the opposite side of the room near a balcony with large windows. The cable connects to my powered digital antenna, which needs to be near the windows for better reception. Now, I can enjoy all the NBC Olympic coverage in digital clarity for free. Thanks to the congressional mandate in 2005 requiring national and local broadcasters to offer free digital TV, I can also enjoy the major networks coverage of the games of the week for baseball, football, basketball, and hockey during the regular season, along with most playoff games. Big events of national interest, like major award shows and political events, are also available for free in digital clarity. All thanks to the teams hard work, there are no visible wires everywhere, which was my wifes only request! Every component in my house is interconnected, and its all thanks to the exceptional work by Brayden and Tracy. Its more perfect than I ever imagined.

Brayden was a blessing to us after a severe storm caused a tree to tear out the electrical service connection from our house. Brayden was the only electrician to get back to us promptly, offering a fair and reasonable quote for the work. He was quick, polite, and had already familiarized himself with our property using online resources. Despite knowing we were filing an insurance claim, he didnt try to push unnecessary services on us. The team, Tracy, Jim, and Connor, were exceptional during our service panel installation. They were open about their process, answered all our queries, worked efficiently and neatly, and waited until they were sure our inspection was accepted by the power company. After the repairs were finished, getting the power company to reconnect our service was a headache. Even though they had finished their job from their standpoint, Tracy and Jim stayed in touch with us and advocated for us. They made calls for us, helping to get our power back on 5 days after the storm. Even after they knew the power company had been out to reconnect us, Brayden followed up by text to ensure all our outlets, appliances, and other stuff were working well.
