We had a Trane xe1000 heating and cooling system that is more than 17 years old. This winter it stopped to generate heat. A technician checked and found converter and compressor have issue also low on Freon that means leaking somewhere in the system. Fortunately emergency heat still works. Tell me it is time to replace the system. So I start to shop around. Put request online to three companies at late Saturday afternoon and Kurtis, from Hybrid Air, called me within one hour and scheduled next day morning, Sunday, to take look our system and recommended XR14. The other two companies called me Monday and Wednesday. So I got quotes from all three companies and Kurtis, Hybrid Air, gave me an attractive price. So I decided to go with him.I have no regret to hire Hybrid Air to do the work. They are so professional. When I see they put brand new cover on my carpet in the hall way and stair, I know I am in the right hand. Neal is very knowledgeable and skillful. From discussing our needs and recommending a system through the installation process this company knows their stuff. I cannot recommend them highly enough. If you want a company that treats your home like their own, hire Hybrid Air.Kurtis is awesome. If you are looking for installing new system, get him.

Tyler C. did a great job replacing our water heater! We called Hybrid Air a day ago and the next morning he got to work. We were in a time pinch with the sale of our home, the work was done fast, professionally, and high quality.Another Plumber in Norfolk quoted us 3X the amount to do the same job, they also charged a fee to get an estimate. Hybrid Air did the estimate for free and did not over charge us.

Our family was looking for a whole home generator. Many competitors couldn’t obtain the size generator we needed, couldn’t find the appropriate sized transfer switch or were backed up 6 months on install /arrival for parts. Ben and his team were responsive, we went from a conversation on a Tuesday to a full install that Friday. Many people would pay a premium on supply and demand alone. We received a fair price, quality product and superior service. We would highly recommend Hybrid Air.

Before reaching out to Hybrid Air the gas company suggested another company to hook up a line for us. We contacted them, made an appointment and they came over to do an estimate. They gave us a rough estimate of $500-$1,500, but told us they will get back with us right away with a complete cost. The next day they emailed us with a quote of $1600... My husband was in shock with the quote. After discussing the price my husband and I decided to look for another company and found Hybrid Air on Google. He filled out the information that was needed and waited for a response which he received right away. Made an appointment 2 days later.Mind you each situation is different in other homes, meaning the lines they’ll have to connect varies in prices depending what needs to be done and how far the line will have to get connected. In our situation our price came to $800, which we were definitely ecstatic. We scheduled our service a few days later. The gentleman that came over was very professional. And thorough.We are definitely happy with the result.We wanted to recommend Hybrid Air for any services you may need done they are awesome👏🏼 👏🏼👏🏼

Hybrid Air stood head and shoulders above competitors for their fast and professional response. Hybrid Air’s serviceman, Chris, was early for the scheduled appointment and conducted the consultation very professionally. He presented all the options. He also offered and delivered temporary window units until he could complete the installation of the new A/C compressor. Installation was completed on time and he hauled away all the old parts. All contacts with Hybrid Air was a breath of fresh air, especially Chris. Hybrid Air is highly recommended for their genuine care for their customers.

I called Hybrid Air to come check out why my thermostat wasnt working and my heating unit was rattling. I expected a long wait or for them to be able to schedule me in the next week or so, but that was not the case. They had a cancelation because of the snow and sent someone right out.😃 Tommy was the service tech that came out and was very polite and down to earth. He found the issue fairly quickly, to which we will be fixing on the next call. Thank you for such excellent and prompt service today Tommy! I will be recommending Hybrid Air to everyone I know!

This wasn’t the case, they assessed and told me they were able to do the serve in the same day! Very impressed with Hybrid Air and their quick turnaround to the customer and Jammal my tech was professional and courteous and did a great job. Will definitely use again in the future for other services.

We were pleased with the overall experience we had with the installation of our HVAC unit. During our initial meeting with the representative (Dan), all of our questions were answered, and the price quote was in line with the others we’d received. We scheduled a date for the installation and the team arrived at the appointed time.The installation seemed to be going smoothly until it was time to install the electrical disconnect. I was told that the disconnect they brought from their shop was defective, so one technician left to get a replacement while the other stayed to continue the installation.Once the technician returned (from Virginia Beach) they continued and I was told a little later that the replacement disconnect was also defective. By this time it was getting late in the day (around 5:00), so they were going to leave but said someone else would be coming back to complete the installation, but they weren’t sure if it would be this evening or the following day (Sunday).I contacted Dan to inform him of the situation and he told me that he would have the on-call technician come out the next day, which we agreed was fine.The technician called the next morning to tell us he was on the way and arrived on time. He diagnosed the problem, and informed me that there was nothing actually wrong with the disconnect, and that all was needed was for the installation technician to install two fuses in the disconnect. He wasn’t sure why that wasn’t done, and guessed that the technicians had never seen this type of disconnect before.So, my reason for this rating is because I think the job could have been completed in a more timely manner had the installation team been better prepared.

AC went out. We used Angies list and found Hybrid Air. They were out the following day. Confirmed it was the compressor on a very old unit that we had been patching up for the last 2 years. We were provided with some temporary units to cool our home until they installed our new unit. The installers worked hard and for 2 days and did a great job.. Still waiting on the heat strip so that are on back order.. Everyone was professional and courteous and we are pleased with this company.Would definitely recommend!

And just 30 minutes later Aaron was at my front door ( this was at 9 at night). Luckily it was something that was an easy fix and they saved us a lot of money. I would recommend this company to everyone, including my family. They are prompt, polite and honest!

We contacted Hybrid Air to service our older unit as we prepared our home for sale. The technician was able to come out the next day. He informed us the unit had a safety issue and needed replacement (unit was 20 years old). Hybrid Air had the sales manager at our home that afternoon to inspect the unit and review pricing options with us for replacement. We now have a new unit with a 1 year transferable warranty for the new owner. Great service. Highly recommended.

This company is top notch. We’ve used them since we moved here three years ago and they are extremely professional and easy to work with. They always send you an email letting you know when your technician will arrive along with a picture and a short bio. They are always on time and always friendly, especially to my little dog who loves to attack their blue foot booties! We had a recent problem with our AC and when they couldn’t get the part immediately, they brought out two window air-conditioners and installed them, even taking the time to tape up the side so bugs could not get in. I am very pleased with this company and highly recommend them.

Extremely professional and knowledgeable! Aaron was our technician. He did a cleaning and inspection and he took the time to explain what was going on with our A/C unit, which had been running at poor performance and making loud buzzing/humming/trickling noises for the past few days. After receiving the diagnosis and suggestions, we decided to replace our 20-yr old unit instead of repairing it. We were able to receive a quote from the owner over the phone immediately and they will be coming out rush tomorrow to install the new system. We cannot be more thankful for the expeditious process that was taken by Hybrid Air to ensure we don’t faint from the heat of this warm VB Summer ahead.

We were extremely happy with the professional service we received from hybrid air and especially from Joey who did a fantastic job replacing an outdoor water tank from 1978. He found and ordered a similar replacement and the job was complete within 48 hours. The entire time both Joey and the office were updating me with the status of the order and when Joey would be back install. They were professional and easy to work with. Will definitely use hybrid air for all future projects.

Why its not working and showed me all the things that were patches and pieced together. I will be using them in the near future. Rescoring this review from a 1 to 4 star. The GM and Install Manager came out to my house to look over my concern with water dripping out of my unit on to my kitchen ceiling. The GM listened to my concerns and the two of them spent time looking over my system and determined that the air handler fan speed was too high creating a lot of my issue. They also determined that the line set was too small for the unit in my house. They adjusted the fan speed and replaced the line set at no cost to me. We are now waiting for a hot and humid day to verify that the issue is resolved. I really appreciate the company stepping up to make this right and earn back my trust. Will change this to 5 stars once we have confirmed the issue is corrected.

I purchased my AC through Hybrid last Aug. Very Satisfied. Received my second AC check up visit today that was included with that purchase. The Technician today was Shawn P. I mentioned to him that my humidity level had not improved with the new unit as I had expected. He immediately knew what to check for. My unit has a sub cooling capacity of -8. He inspected and found my capability was only set at -1. Over the years I have had and known many A/C techs. This guy knows his stuff. I am 100% satisfied with his work today and very pleased with the responsiveness of Hybrid Air Inc, to continue to look after me as a customer.

I called Hybrid Air at 8am because my house was 80 degrees and the day was going to be in the 90s. They re routed a tech and he was at my door within a couple of hours. Job was completed professionally and we were given details as to what was done and what to expect. Unfortunately we had to sleep in 80 degrees, no fault of the repair, (we were told it would take several hours to cool and the high humidity would affect the cooling) but we woke up to a freezing 68 degrees and it actually felt good to step outside in the heat. Customer service was outstanding as well. Our point of contact, Kelly, made sure we were up to date on calls, concerns, and service. She was exceptional in relaying messages from techs to us when we had concerns and reassuring us of things in detail. Price was a little higher than expected but I treat service like I treat my food. I’d far rather pay a little more for a great experience than to walk away unsatisfied. I highly recommend these guys to anyone needing HVAC service.

Had several regular maintenance calls and the technician (chris) was always early and knowledgeable. When the unit finally died the tech was very friendly and went over my options and we agreed to a fair price. It was long after that the new unit was installed and while some molding damage was done to get the furnace in the attic they were able to get a professional drywall/carpenter to fix the issue.

Hybrid air installed a tankless water heater. They were efficient and their quality of work was exceptional. When they came indoors they removed their shoes and cleaned up after themselves. The only complaint was they arrived closer to 10 am than the 8 am time they were scheduled. I would highly recommend Hybrid Air. Good quality and a great value.

I first worked with Bruce who came out did a thorough job of looking the house over and explaining everything to me. He was a GREAT help. I chose Hybrid Air because of the customer service, and Bruces spirit. Hybrid air was my 4th quote. Now lets talk about Dalton and Christian the two guys that came to do the actual work. Very professional, punctual, and they explained everything that they were doing and cleaned up after themselves. They were finished in the 3 days that I was told. I had been warned for a few years by maintenance techs that my old air conditioner was old and I might want to start planning for a new one. So when my air conditioning when out at the end of August, it wasn’t a total surprise. I had an estimate from Hybrid Air and got the replacement air conditioner/furnace work completed within a few days. AND I was especially and pleasantly surprised when they told me I could temporarily have a free portable room air conditioner until the job was completed. I am very happy with installation technicians and other staff - and am enjoying my nice cool house again.

After seeking appraisals from 5 different contractors for the replacement of my dual zone heating and a/c. Ben from Hybrid Air by far had the most professional and complete proposal. The installation of my 2 units went very smooth. The installers were professional, informative and very thorough. We were particularly impressed with the manner in which they stopped what they were doing several times during the installation to tell us exactly what they were doing and how far along they were. The installers worked together like team, making sure they did everything right. So far we are very impressed with the quality of our new units. The technician, Bryan was awesome. He was very professional and listened to what I had to say. He was honest and upfront about the possible problem with my hot water heater. He didnt try to automatically sell me a new heater. We both agreed to try the fix to see if that was the problem instead of replacing the hot water heater. The only company who took on the challenge at a very competitive price was Hybrid Air. At my first encounter John did a detailed evaluation, discussed the options, patiently answered my questions. After some phone calls he selected the right size equipment, presented the proposal and scheduled installation. Technicians arrived timely a week later, were very professional and completed the job as promised in 1 day. All in all, Hybrid Air was a great company to work with. I replaced a 20+ year old Janitrol, 4 ton heat pump unit and refrigerant line set, with a much more efficient Trane unit. The initial quote was much higher than I expected, but they were willing to lower their price to meet the competition.After coming to terms on price, their installation team was out in 2 days (end of January). The job took 6 hours to replace the outside unit and the air handler in the attic. The team was courteous and clean, and I have very little to complain about on the quality of the installation.Bruce was my salesperson, and he was very engaged in making sure I had multiple options and tried to find ways to improve the overall comfort level of the HVAC unit in our three level home.Overall Hybrid Air was very responsive, courteous, and competitive.

In a previous home, my whole HVAC went out in the middle of winter while I was out of the country. The owner personally took it under his wing to ensure I was taken care of and on time so I had a warm house when I got back home. At my current home, I was having troubles with my AC. They got a technician to my home within 12 hours during peak of summer, and the technician troubleshooted into the night to ensure we were taken care of. Tom, the technician, was not only extremely helpful but very friendly and warm.There is no other company in Virginia Beach I would rather take care of anything in my home. They offer exceptional service that can’t be matched by anyone. If you don’t choose Hybrid Air and ask for Tom, you’re making a huge mistake.

I am in the process of selling a condo and the HVAC did not pass home inspection. I had to quickly replace it and HYBRID was able to get a new one installed in just a few days. Installation went well and everything works fine. My only complaints are that the front panel of the furnace no longer fits properly and was secured in place with an adhesive tape. I didn’t notice this until after the technician left. I think he should have brought that to my attention. Also, he replaced the thermostat, which is fine, but he took the old one with him. The old one was virtually brand new as I had installed it a couple weeks earlier. I would have liked to have kept that one.

You will not find a more courteous, thorough, respectful, efficient and reasonable Heating and Cooling Company out there. Kurtis, the Service Manager, and every other employee who has worked in my house has been stellar. We recently had them install a new AC system as well as new ductwork under the house. Tim, the technician who installed the AC, and the men who worked under the house could not have been nicer. They were so efficient and respectful not to mention did an outstanding job installing. Their clean up after the job was better than any contractor Ive ever experienced. I feel sure to say that you will not find better service or quality at a fair price than with Hybrid Air.

Neil came out and provided a free estimate, and listened to everything that I wanted: Ductless Minisplit Ac/heat unit Etc..in specific location in my garage. Neil provided detailed estimate and broke everything down in laymen’s terms. Then During the install the “Lead Technician - Matthew came out and did a excellent job installing the Mini split both on the interior and exterior etc…looks like it was always part of the house (very good install job!).Great Job : Matthew and Neil!I would recommend this company to anyone based on my experience with them.

Greg and the team at Hybrid air were great to work with! I went to visit my sister in Chesapeake a few weeks ago on one of those scorching hot days only to find that her house was pretty uncomfortably warm. She called Hybrid air and they had Matt come out in the morning. After he fought off the wasps that had moved into the outside unit, Matt gave us the grim news that the entire system needed to be replaced. Matt was quickly on the phone and arranged for Greg to come out the same day to talk about replacement options (all of this was on a Saturday!). Not only did Greg come out to rural Chesapeake to help out my sister but he went to Virginia Beach and back to bring us temporary units to use until the system was replaced.The replacement of the HVAC unit was quickly and professionally done and my sister and all of her pets were again living comfortably. This all happened during one of those weeks that my sister was on her own and I felt that she was treated fairly and in a professional manner and informed about her options. I would definitely recommend Hybrid air and appreciate how they took care of business.I did check with my sister to see if it had all been taken care of as described and her comment was Oh I would definitely recommend Hybrid Air. We worked with Hybrid Air to completely replace our existing HVAC system. They were very quick to get us scheduled and had the entire project done in one day. They installed a new Trane AC unit and Trane gas furnace. The Technician Chris was great, he showed up clean and ready to work and was personable and knowledgeable about the system. He troubleshot and found the faulty capacitor within 5 minutes. them he switch it out within 10 minutes. The system was back up and working within 20 minutes. Had a small issue, but it was addressed quickly to my satisfaction. I will use and recommend them again.

I initially hired Hybrid Air to unstop our Kitchen sink and to fix our heat because our heat was not working. The guy was certified to do both jobs but could not fix the clog in our kitchen sink. He advised us to call Atomic Plumbing because they will have the large drainer to unstop it. I was a bit surprised because I mostly hired them to do both jobs, but they couldn’t follow through. This meant I had to pay another diagnostic fee to another company. The man was able to fix our heat. He was very polite and explained what he needed to do each time he came over.I like Hybrid Air. I would have given them 5 stars if they did the plumbing too. I would definitely refer them for HVAC issues, but not for anything else. It would have been more of a savings to hire a company who can fully do all three (plumbing, electrical, and HVAC) as advertised.

Update...I connected with the CEO of Hybrid Air and at the end of the day, they made right all issues. He promptly got involved to resolve all issues to my satisfaction and no extra cost to me other than a little of my time.I was not aware that Hybrid Air provided plumbing services, but they came up as a recommendation on Home Adviser. I hired them to solve some plumbing issues at my home. John from Hybrid Air came and quickly diagnosed a toilet problem. He said the toilet needed to be replaced. He replaced the toilet and did not ask me what type of toilet I wanted. I assumed he would install a similar toilet. Instead he installed a smaller toilet. I was a bit taken aback. So I said I was not satisfied. I wanted a similar toilet. So the next morning he comes back out to replace the toilet. I had to go to work so I left him to do his work. So I get home in the evening to find an elongated toilet as I had wanted, but the base was too long and he cut the baseboard and drywall away at the back of the base of the toilet to get the toilet to fit! I mean he jammed it in there. It is a total mess. No telling what it is going to cost me to get this all fixed. I will need to find another plumber to install a toilet of the right size. I will need to have the drywall repaired and baseboard replaced and painted. The wall will need to be painted too. It is a friggen mess. Stay away from Hybrid Air. They do not know the plumbing business!

Dean came to evaluate the problem and immediately checked a supply house and they had the unit in stock and it was in CHESAPEAKE! We had just had a horrible experience with a local contractor I will not name. He quoted a reasonable rate for a complete replacement, however, he didnt show up when he said he was going to after I had scheduled this installation for my mom who lives in Chesapeake and she had taken time off of work. I cancelled our service and called Ben. I will admit I know Ben but he has always just been awesome at what he does and he really knows his stuff. He offered to get someone out the next day. He installed a high efficiency Trane system and was very clean. He didnt leave behind anything. If your going to spend the money to have a new system you should hire someone that you know is put together, and will do a professional installation. Ben and his team were very professional and i would recommend them to anyone! They have more positive reviews than any other contractor in Virginia Beach or Hampton Roads for that matter. Why would you trust any other contractor?

When we had an issue with our a/c working ( due to our pour drainage from our condensate line...not anything they did wrong) even though it was almost two years since he sold us the system, he stopped by on his way to work to make sure we were okay. He was able to trouble shoot the issue in 10 minutes. It is one thing to think you are getting a commitment...but to have it delivered even months after the sale really feels like it speaks to the level of dedication and commitment. These guys are great. We found them on the Service Magic website. Though I called on a Saturday afternoon, they showed up within two hours and gave us an honest estimate within 30 minutes. Though the news was not what I wanted to hear (new coil unit), Chris laid out all the options in case I wanted a more thorough system test or wanted to try to hold off on replacing the coil. We decided to get the big repair done, but decided to call around to make sure we were getting a good price. Sure enough, one of the big local competitors (S&K) told us that our estimate was far below their best price, so we went ahead with the replacement. Our only gripe with Hybrid was that they initially said they we would be there on Monday afternoon, but later called to switch it to Tuesday morning -- not the end of the world, though. In the end, we got a good price with very little hassle. We would highly recommend them.

I spoke with Ben (the owner) who asked me to call the emergency number and if I did not hear from a tech within 30 minutes to call him back. When the tech called, my husband had begun to troubleshoot the problem and spoke with the tech and Ben explaining what he had found. We knew if the tech came out we would be spending money for a trip charge and may not find anything that could be fixed without parts. What I was really impressed with is that both the tech and Ben were willing to help my husband with troubleshooting over the phone to see if this was something he could fix himself! A split Trane heating and cooling pump system was purchased that included all hook ups, new lines, and complete installation. The final heating and cooling system works perfectly and is of a very high quality. I live in northern VA and was unable to come to the VA Beach area to help with replacing my Moms HVAC system. After dealing with 6+ HVAC companies, we settled with Hybrid Air. Spoke with Kurtis (manager) personally several times after their initial evaluation to ensure they were going to complete all the steps essential when doing a successful install. He pretty much answered all of my questions and concerns before I was able to inquire. We had several obstacles to overcome between access for the air handler, outdoor unit and several electrical challenges. All were met in a professional and the least expensive manner. Not being available to witness the install, it was expressed by my sister that the installers were extremely courteous to her and my 1 year old niece. She felt very comfortable with them during the install which speaks volumes. With the weather having been getting quite a bit colder, Kurtis had a team of four installers out to ensure things would get done asap. All looked great after and everything was cleaned up afterwards. Cant thanks these guys enough! 5+ star company and personnel.

Found my water heater leaking in garage yesterday morning, by the afternoon they had some out to repair (only waited that long because I had an appt I couldn’t miss). The technician John was absolutely great, came explained everything and made sure the entire job was taken care of. Unfortunately, for John the job turned out to be a case of “Murphy’s Law”. The when removing the old tank he accidentally hit the old valve and water sprayed in the garage. He was so sorry (told me probably 100 times). He helped me wipe things down and even left a large blower to help dry everything up. A piece of exercise equipment was damaged, but John and the company reimbursed me for that. When he went to place the new water heater in it was found damaged, again not John’s fault it just came out of the box that way and the box had zero damage on it. He left and came back with another heater and replaced it. He put a pipe in place while he was gone to make sure we at least had cold running water while he was out. Once the pipes were fixed and the 2nd new water heater he was very efficient with installing. He took time afterwards to walk me through how the system works and how to set up and restore if the pilot goes out.They made it right with everything before they left. They are even going to have an electrician come out to make sure the electrical in garage is fine. I couldn’t be happier with the service!!!!

This is the 2nd time I have had my units tended to by Hybrid. Two different young men handled each service call with the utmost professionalism and both made me feel very comfortable. Austin and Andrew are delightful young men. They did a great job. Austin had to leave for another job but Andrew stayed on until the rather complicated job was completed (they have to come back later for a related job). He was up in the attic, down in the crawl space and everywhere in between! He could not have been more helpful, and the same goes for Austin. We are very pleased with their hard work.

On 12/5/2016, Hybrid Air installed a new Trane gas furnace and central AC system. The sales guy, John M, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable regarding the right system for me. The installation team consisted of technicians David and Stanley, who were later joined by Trey. The work was completed professionally and on time. I would highly recommend the Hybrid Air Team when it comes to your next HVAC need/project.

Hybrid Air was selected to install a duel fuel system to include a Trane heat pump and a Trane high efficiency gas furnace.We found Ben Young and his team to be very knowledgeable and professional in his dealings with us. They highlighted areas where efficiency improvements could be made and were also price competitive when detailed comparisons were made.

Jacob was extremely polite and professionalHe showed me mold growing inside the HVAC system and recommended an Air Scrubber. There was no pushiness or haggling on his part & he explained the way the process works. Since I live in a condo, there is no doubt that having this filtering system could prove invaluable. Jake also cleaned the outside Trane compressor and sprayed it with an anti fungal. It looks almost brand new. I cant say enough good things about this company, their employees, their level of professionalism, their willingness to go above and beyond their job description on a daily basis, and their overall human compassion and kindness.Kurtis, the General Manager of the company, was the first to respond to me and take my problem seriously when I had been calling contractors for almost a full month just trying to get someone to respond and actually come to my home to evaluate my situation. I had a 25-30 year old original duct work and A/C system, that had been sweating so much due to the high heat and humidity (and lack of insulation in the attic and the duct work itself) and caused a lot of black mold that was spreading rapidly.After an evaluation of the property he conducted himself, he determined I definitely needed a new HVAC system and all new duct work, but he also found that I needed my attic insulated, as well as a professional restoration for the removal and remediation the mold problem. He took charge of the situation, and not only managed the HVAC portion of the job, but also managed the entire project including the scheduling of estimates and work of all the other contractors as well.I didnt have to worry about if the restoration company was overcharging (and they werent. Based on several other quotes and information from a friend in the business, they actually helped me out SIGNIFICANTLY as far as the price). I didnt have to worry about conflicting schedules between the workers. I didnt have to worry about the people going in and out of my home. At the end of the day, my situation was so bad, the total overall bill between all the contractors was around $25,000. That was a hard pill to swallow, and when Kurtis broke the news to me, I broke down in tears. he took the time to calm me down, express his most sincere condolences, but then reassure me that although the cost was high, the cost and consequences of not doing the work was higher. He coached me through every step of the process, and even took it upon himself to purchase and deliver the new vanity I had to get for my bathroom, and just factored it into my bill.I know this is a novel of a review. But I want to be sure that ANYONE looking for the best and fairest company with the best and fairest prices immediately goes with Hybrid Air. Kurtis, Dalton, George, Neal, Akeem all deserve raises, promotions, and any other accolades available to be given for the quality of care and service that was provided to myself and my family.THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!
