Chuck and his team recently completed installing about 250 feet of riprap along my shoreline as well as installing pilings and a floating dock. Chuck really cares about his workmanship and was a pleasure to work with him from getting an estimate to project completion. I highly recommend Inlet Marine.

I used to have a policy of getting three or four quotes for every project that I wanted to do, then selecting a contractor based on price. I have since learned that the best price is not always representative of the best value. Now I base my decisions on my gut feeling during our first meeting. When I first met with Chuck, he showed up to my home ahead of our scheduled meeting time, while the two previous pier builders were late. After spending an hour with Chuck reviewing my plans and discussing various aspects of the project, I knew he was the right person for the job. He provided a quote in a timely manner and worked with me every step of the way as we ran through process of obtaining the various approvals needed to begin construction. I believe the quality of the work to be exceptional, but more importantly, I know that Chuck is a man of his word and he backs everything he does with his name and reputation. While we did have a written contract, our contract was ratified on a handshake. Lastly, I would be remise if I did not mention Chucks assistant Susan. Susan is not just an admin, she is the backbone of Inlets Marines logistics. Her fingers are on the pulse of that operation and she is always highly responsive to calls, emails, etc. If I had to make the choice all over again, I would choose Inlet Marine any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Inlet Marine built our pier and docks recently, and we could not be more pleased with the results. The surveyors, engineer, and extensive permits took a good deal of time. Chuck Archer said our dock would be in by Valentines Day, and it was even with design modifications. Very responsive to those changes and he was a pleasure to work with. Our dock is solid and fits perfectly into our landscape.

Chuck and his crew did an outstanding job of reinforcing my existing rip rap bulkhead. The original installation was marginal at best and Inlet Marine added an additional 20 tons of rocks to stabilize it. They finished in one day, cleaned up the mess and were gone. They went to great lengths to minimize the damage to my existing lawn. I now feel comfortable that this bulkhead will stand for years to come and have recommended Inlet Marine to several neighbors.

The crew knows their business and goes about it in a workmanship manner. I was kept informed of alternatives to the original plan as they became apparent and made part of the team. The old boathouse was removed and disposed of an not a shingle fell in the water. The new lift is up and running and theres even a dock extension that was never in the plans and was very vital to the success of the project.Thank you Chuck, Joshua and Joseph. Well probably do business together again in the future and I look forward to it.

Inlet Marine has completed a flex-a-mat installation, for erosion, and a pier with platform. Chuck Archer helped us to line up the planning, engineering and permitting. We are very pleased with the quality and craftsmanship of the work. The wait for this project was long but worth it. We would highly recommend using Inlet Marine.

Can’t say enough of the experience I had with Inlet Marine. Waited for 8 months for another company to rebuild my dock and nothing. Called Inlet and within 3 days, I had an estimate and materials at my house at the beginning of the following week. Easy to deal with, respectful of property, and the quality of the work was perfect. It was better than I thought it would be, they customized a curb system around the whole dock, and built a ramp to access the dock for handicap purposes. Cleaned up everything and left my property in the same condition as they found it.I would recommend Chuck and his guys to my mother, period!

My wife and I selected Inlet Marine to remove our failed bulkhead and replace it with rip rap and a pier. We are extremely happy with the result and cant thank Chuck and his team enough. Inlet Marine communicated with us throughout the project and performed the work just as we had discussed. They even dealt with a few surprises in a very fair and professional manner. Our backyard now looks great and its all thanks to Inlet Marine. We cant recommend them enough is you need a marine contractor.

Inlet Marine was recommended by a friend who recently had a new lift installed and was extremely happy with their work. I was immediately impressed with their responsiveness. Within a few days of contacting Susan, Chuck came out to evaluate the work I wanted done and I had an estimate in-hand. The lift was installed quickly and professionally with considerable attention given to ensuring the boat’s measurements were accurate and the lift installed accordingly. Chuck and Susan went out of their way to ensure I was pleased with the installation, and I am. Working with Inlet Marine is one of those rare experiences where you have the good fortune to find the right people for the job. The best endorsement I can give Inlet Marine is that I have already recommended them to a friend.

Inlet Marine constructed the six-slip pier complex for a small housing development that I just moved into in Western Branch. Besides the boat slips, the pier complex has a gazebo over the water, and a floating dock. Its great! When I moved in, I bought one of the slips, and contracted with Inlet Marine to install a new boat lift. It took a while for the boat lift to arrive due to delays from the manufacturer. When it got here, Chuck and his crew put it in, coordinating nicely with the electricians. The lift works great. Its wonderful being able to keep my boat on a lift! I appreciate greatly the quality job that Chuck and his people did.

I grew up on the water and around piers and docks. I have built them and repaired them I know what a quality dock looks like. I thought I would get that out of Chuck and his crew. I was right I did. What really impressed me however was the details, from the quality of the bolting to the beautiful platform on top. Its all top of the line and remarkably it was completed in one week. Chuck and Susan were there from day one quick to answer questions, make changes and help us through the permitting and other procedures. Professional, reliable, friendly and overall masters of their craft that is Inlet Marine.

Inlet Marine was amazing in helping make our dreams come true! The entire team is very professional and took time to answer any questions that we had along the way (including those of all of our neighbors who came by to admire the progress).We had a failing bulkhead that had to be replaced and decided to go ahead with adding a pier at the same time. Chuck Archer (Inlet Marine owner) was very helpful in our decision making process on both projects. As for the bulkhead he took the time to price out our various options, as well as explain the process and benefits of each. When it came to the pier he was just as helpful in providing advice on the different layouts and ideas that we had come up with.I cant say enough about the great work that they did in helping to improve our view! One note on the attention to detail that his guys have; our bulkhead has a walkway along the top, and when the boards were being installed it was noted that there were some boards that were quite a bit darker than the others. The time was taken to count out those boards and create a pattern so that they werent just bunched together in one location or randomly placed. Not everyone would notice that kind of thing, but I would, and truly appriciate that they all treated our project as if it were their own!I definitely recommend Inlet Marine for their services, and will use them for any future services that I may need. Thanks guys, for a job exceptionally well done!

I am so pleased with my boat lift and dock installed by Inlet Marine. Chuck along with Josh and his team performed miracles. These guys installed the dock in just a few days and the boat lift also. It was truly unbelievable how easy this process was. The dock is beautiful with routed edges, this is a very custom look. The boat lift is also stainless steel and aluminum, that baby should last a lifetime. I love it all!! Thank you very much for doing what you said you would do!!!

Our experience with Inlet Marine has been nothing short of spectacular from day one.Chuck Archer, Josh and the crew move at lightening speed and do amazing high quality custom work. Sound to good to be true? yeah we thought so too until we saw it with our own eyes.Our project was not an easy one, there were a lot of obstacles in the way. Satisfying the three governing authorities, complying with the 25% MLW while still being able to negotiate a 30 ft boat into the slip was a tall order. Chuck was unrelenting and reassuring the whole way through the process until we were able to get the building permit. Its important to note that this was an 8 month process with more than a half a dozen drawings submitted to the city and VMRC. Chuck took a personal interest in making sure we came out on the right side. Chuck also worked with us and rearranged his schedule so that we could start construction shortly after obtaining the building permit .Once the guys got the go ahead the next day there were what seemed like 100 floating pilings right off the waterline at our house. Everyday I came home from work it was like an army had been working the day. I had to take a 6 day business trip in the middle of it, when I got back it was 75% complete. I think the whole pier which consisted of a long entryway to be custom built from our existing decking to a step down pier that opened up to a finger pier, 16x16 entertaining area, ramp floating dock, pilings for two jet skis and two fully completed boat lifts.Inlet stuck to their bid and did not nickel and dime us at all. Chuck also made suggestions along the way like the triple rope railing (which turned out Gorgeous) and the space they built for a dock-box, rub railing, lighting he took a vested interest in making sure the pier was everything we wanted it to be and more. It was a pleasurable experience from start to finish and the end product is a show stopper! We just had out house warming party and our friends and neighbors went out to look at it in the rain and all commented on how nicely it was done. Susan at Inlet Marine was also a pleasure to work with with the administrative end. Hats off to Inlet Marine! If you want to have top quality work done without spending a fortune or being nickel and dimed Inlet is a sure bet. Reliable, Honest, High Quality, Custom, are just of few of the words I would use to describe them.

We recently had our dream pier and dock completed by Chuck and the Inlet Team. We’ve been planning for years, and Inlet Marine made that dream a reality. We spoke with many builders, knowing this was a once in a lifetime undertaking, and only wanted the best. Chuck Archer, the owner of this family business is wonderful. He takes absolute pride in his work. We had an old dock that we needed to rejuvenate. He came and assessed it and gave us his proposed plan to build a whole new dock and boat and jet ski lifts and gave us an estimate which was very competitive compared to others. The work started at the time proposed and they were absolutely professional. They did the work and we in the house did not feel they were present. The work ended with a wonderful dock that was beyond our expectations. The work was flawless. Quality was superb and material was top notch. I would recommend them to anyone who would like to have a dock. Thank you Chuck.
