I hired Andrew to do a multi-head mini split install in my row home. He was prompt with coming out for a quote and informing me regarding the work he would be doing. Unfortunately days of rain delayed completion but Andrew checked in regularly for updates on the progress he was able to make. I am beyond impressed with the completed work. Each head unit is installed cleanly and functions as it should. Additionally, I was very specific in wanting the exterior conduit to be as clean and angular as possible. Andrew didnt disappoint. All of the work is what I would expect of a professional and then some. Andrew and his employees were professional, clean, and courteous throughout the install. Andrew also followed up a few days afterward to make sure I was still happy with the install and performance. He and Air by Design will be my first call for future HVAC needs.

Andrew gave me an honest price on a new hot water heater and was able to order the size I needed for my family. While installing my new hot water heater, he even patched up some cement around my AC unit that he noticed was cracked at no extra charge. I cannot recommend Andrew and his business enough!! My AC broke in the middle of a heat wave in July. I also had a time crunch with guests arriving into town the same week. Andrew promised me he would have my AC up and running in time for my guests’ arrival. He made good on his promise and I cannot be happier. Other places always said I needed a bigger unit. The AC unit was not working well. They came out, looked at it and said it was plenty big enough. Took it apart and the problem was it needed a good cleaning from the inside out. The two guys that came were amazing very professional and very nice. I would never use anyone else again. Andrew came out on a Saturday to diagnose what was wrong with my air conditioner. The unit was installed in April 2023. The company that installed it failed epically to diagnose and correct the problem. They essentially put a bandaid on a broken bone. Andrew was very thorough. He pressure tested the system, found one leak, and added a dye/sealant to make sure he did not miss anything. Sure enough, there was another leak. Andrew and his assistant came out, examined the unit and found the problem, and the part that failed was ordered. They returned to install the part just in time to keep us cool and comfortable during the heat wave we had. Quality work, reasonable prices, and clearly explains everything being done step by step.Highly recommend Air By Design Heating and Cooling. If you have a heating or air conditioning problem, give them a call!

Great experience working with these guys - our unit is very hard to access in our attic, wed had multiple folks tell us they couldnt/wouldnt do repairs on it. It resulted in a very bad leak so we called these guys and they came out same day, completely resolved the issue and installed a kill switch to ensure it wouldnt cause damage should the issue return. Fair pricing, very knowledgable, speedy and informative without being condescending. Highly recommend!

Air By Design is the only company we will use to service our HVAC needs. We used them back in August in the middle of a heat wave our AC went. They were there first thing in the morning and my repair was complete by lunch and in that time they also had to go get a part and return. Andrew is great, he came for a check up on a leak from our AC that he tried to unclog a few days prior and was successful but there was an extra problem with the drain in the wall which had to do with the condo and not him. He even checked the neighbors AC below us. I called Andrew at Air by Design after PGW shut off the gas line to our heater due to a leak in the valve. Andrew came out just a few hours later the same day to fix it. I was impressed by how promptly he returned my call and came out to my house to assess and fix the problem. I will definitely be using Air by Design for any future HVAC needs.
