Quartersawn was a top-notch, client-forward, transparent, and professional experience from beginning to end. Director of construction Adam, site manager Zach, director of design Ali, director of experiences Todd, construction coordinator Liz, and carpenters Joe, Erich, and Josh were everything a home-owner could hope for when tackling a large-scale project; in our case it was a full main-floor remodel that involved moving the kitchen across the house. No-nonsense management and high-quality design/finishing are certainly their trademark. This is a design/build firm you can trust to be forthright in their estimates and honest when another path may be more sensible. Once your project begins, you will not find a contractor more transparent with financial management than Quartersawn. I do not have enough superlatives to describe my respect for their integrity as a whole... and the in-house carpentry is top-notch! Seriously, the Quartersawn carpenters are really, really great. Whether its framing or finish work, the quality always exceeds the fee. At minimum, you owe yourself a conversation with their staff. They are the definition of under-promise and over-deliver: the best business model I know. Overall, we are very pleased with our experience and would whole-heartedly recommend Quartersawn to anybody considering a home project of any size!

I was fortunate enough to work as a carpenter for Quartersawn for over 5 years. If we didnt have the urge to move to the mountains, I would certainly still be working there. Quartersawn takes great care in cultivating relationships, not only with their clients, but also with their employees. They go above and beyond to make sure everyone feels like they have a voice and foster an environment that encourages open, two-way communication. Everyone on the leadership team works to ensure that people in their departments feel valued and have opportunities for growth and further education. Quartersawn understands the benefits of a proper work/life balance, and encourages the use of your hard-earned PTO. They show great appreciation for their employees through happy hours and other social events (curling, whirlyball, company vacations). As cliche as it is to say it, it really is a family.Quartersawn is a true unicorn in the construction industry, and I am forever grateful that they have such a significant role in my professional journey.

We used Quartersawn for a complete main floor remodel of our 1916 home (including a total down to studs redo of our kitchen). I cannot recommend them highly enough! We had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The entire experience felt very personal yet professional. I felt like they genuinely cared about our project, and we never felt like just another customer. We were kept informed along the way, and their responsiveness was unbeatable. The quality of their work is outstanding! Even with an old home, nothing came up that I felt they didnt know how to handle, they addressed unexpected findings and updated things to make them safer and more sound, and they matched the existing 100yr old woodwork in our home beautifully. With such a large job, it was so important to have a company that listened and made us feel comfortable and Quartersawn definitely did that and then some. The finished product is not only beautiful but functional, and the project finished on time and on budget - even amidst the Covid era of delays and supply chain issues!! I cannot recommend Quartersawn enough!

I used Quartersawn for a complete remodel of my top floor, including adding a laundry room and primary bath and closet, a refresh of my main floor, and several other items throughout the house (new windows, electrical, foundation work, etc.). The quality of design and construction is excellent and they did a great job blending the new elements with the original character of my 1919 home. Customer service was wonderful. They were responsive, flexible, friendly, professional, and a lot of fun to work with. Highly recommend!

We cant say enough good things about our experience with Quartersawn! We spent a LOT of time on the design up-front so that the details were all arranged before the job even began. The Quartersawn crew is very solid---and provide white glove service. It truly is a boutique design-build firm. We were updated constantly on our job (we moved out, per their recommendations, which was great advice.) and any little (or large) issue that came up (remodel of a 1910 home) was always addressed immediately with great suggestions on what options we had at that point. Their subs and workmen are VERY professional and provided top-notch product/services. The house was kept spotless, as much as could be expected. I know our neighbors also appreciated Quartersawns professionalism and cleanliness as well as they mentioned that they were so impressed with how Quartersawn and their subs conducted themselves during the construction process. Everything was tidy. And, signs were up throughout our home to ensure that everyone who was on the worksite felt welcome and safe. We have 5-6 neighbors just within a block or two of us who are now clients of Quartersawn and they are all extremely happy with their services as well. I cant say enough good things. Well definitely be hiring them again for our next project!

Everyone at Quartersawn was really easy to work with. They kept us fully informed throughout the project and helped maintain positive relations with the neighbors as well. The straightforward parts of the project they did a great job on but the areas where our goals were difficult to achieve they excelled at. They were also very responsive to our questions and willing to pivot the few times we wanted to make changes to the scope during the project.

We hired Quartersawn for a major 6 month remodel. We worked together for several months in advance to design and plan the project. Quartersawn executed on the plan and finished a week early. When issues arose, as they do, they were handled promptly and properly. They were professional in every way. We cant speak highly enough about our fantastic experience with Quartersawn! We are so incredibly grateful for the work they did to remodel our new home before we moved in. We picked Quartersawn, having talked to several design build & other firms, because of their obvious professionalism, their immediate feedback on the project and estimated costs and timing (which turned out to be spot on!), and their willingness to work quickly with us--on a timeframe much faster than what they usually do--so we could get into our new home as soon as possible. Then when they actually did the work they blew us away. The work itself is incredible, absolutely gorgeous, the design was better than we could have ever imagined (and cooler than anything Ive seen online), and the process was so stress-free. They communicated well and followed their clearly laid out plans. We couldnt recommend Quartersawn more highly. So grateful for you all!

Weve had a working relationship with Quartersawn for over two years - as long as weve lived in our 100+ year old craftsman - and they have become like family. Theyre extremely professional, collaborative and communicative. Weve done two renovations with them, together totaling a years time. The first was a complete kitchen redesign, with updates to our dining room, fireplace conversion and a powder room addition; they also reconfigured our second floor to convert a small 4th bedroom and unheated porch into a second bathroom and fully usable bedroom, respectively.The second renovation was a full basement finishing with a gorgeous bathroom, laundry room and family room with custom built-in cabinetry. We had great experiences with our team both times and especially the second time around with our designer Kayla Vig who took great care to listen and make thoughtful suggestions based on our concerns/ideas.Crucially, for both projects they kept the integrity of the houses character and history in mind while designing new spaces. Nothing feels out of place and we couldnt love our home more.The process to plan out such huge renovations is arduous. It is months of meetings and dozens of emails and decisions, but they made it as painless as they could by being friendly, transparent and responsive. Quartersawn takes care of everything from finding fixtures to ordering carpet to contracting out special builds. We hope to work with them again in the future.

The entire team was pleasant and professional from start to finish, and navigated the complexities of remodeling during Covid with care and responsiveness. The team worked hard to understand our family and match the experience and design to our needs and wishes. We are so pleased with our end result, and would highly recommend the Quartersawn team!
