Dave is a 3rd generation plumber and it is so awesome to see his son Mitch working with him, all that experience and wisdom being passed down. They have done all our major plumbing jobs on the house for the last 8 years and if I could give 7 stars I would. They have responded promptly to emergencies like a broken well pump on the hottest Summer day, as well as other jobs. Highly knowledgeable, professional, friendly....they only do quality work!

I called Dave as a first-time customer when I lost all water pressure from my well to my house. I tried a few basic fixes, like checking breakers, but really had no idea what the problem could be, or how to figure it out. Dave and his son showed up at my house within 30 minutes of my call, and quickly diagnosed the problem as a shorted out well pump. After giving me a few options to remedy the problem, and explaining which one they would recommend, they returned first thing the next morning and installed a new pump in my well. They also showed me where and why my old pump had failed, and why it had been installed in a less than ideal manner. I really couldnt have asked for better service, both in terms of response time and quality of work.I also had a mess of a mechanical closet that I knew had to be cleaned up and re-worked, but I just had never gotten around to it. Dave and his guys did an absolutely beautiful job of the plumbing in the closet, and added a filter to my water system, which Im so glad to have.I highly recommend Daves Plumbing. He doesnt know just a good way to do things, but the BEST way. That sort of knowledge and skill is invaluable!

Dave (along with his son Mitch and longtime employee Duane) has been my family’s plumber for about 15 years. In that time, he’s replaced a furnace, a well pump, done several emergency call outs, re-plumbed a bathroom and kitchen and installed an outdoor shower. That’s just off the top of my head. And on every occasion, his prices have been good and his service exemplary. Not once have I had to call him back to fix something he did. I would highly recommend Dave for anyone looking for quality plumbing work

I have found Dave to be incredibly responsive, both on an emergency basis and when addressing other routine plumbing needs. He is up-front on estimates and timeframes and meets (and exceeds) expectations. We are very glad we have him as a local plumber. He is always our first (and only) call.

We met Dave Black one very wet late winter thaw on Super Bowl Sunday.A building my wife and I had just renovated lost power and the sump pump failed when it came back on. So there we were no pump and about 2 and 1/2 feet of water in the basement.We started making calls to local Rhinebeck plumbers, no one would come out they were all watching the game. We finally tried Daves Plumbing and he returned the call in about 15 minutes and within the hour he arrived with the proper kit to pump us out and repair the pump.Five houses later Dave has been the only call we make or have since the winter snow melt. Dave and his crew, including his son Mitch and his longtime employee, Duane, have transformed the plumbing in our Victorian house we moved into 2 1/2 years ago. They are incredibly thorough and will go over various options with you. We have had to put in a new well, re done bathrooms, changed old pipes (Duanes copper work is exceptional) and gotten rid of smelly sulfurous water. Absolutely reliable, the best around, by far!

Im watching my dads house for the summer and have come to believe there is a curse on me and my family. The dryer broke, the car broke down, and then finally, the plumbing stopped working. I freaked out! My dad called Daves and they sent someone the next day; the price was more than reasonable and the guys who came were super nice. Everything was fixed in a timely fashion. I’m a HVAC technician from out of town and I needed a part for one of my jobs so I called the closest contractor which happened to be Dave and I’m so glad I did. He answered immediately and unfortunately he didn’t have the part but he did give me directions to the nearest supply store as well as the phone number. He was very helpful, professional, and provided me a great service. I’m very appreciative, thank you Dave!

Although Dave and his crew were already out on jobs, Dave came over at the first opportunity to evaluate our situation. Dave and an assistant returned soon after and solved the problem.
