This company is awesome! I needed a new hot water heater installed. I was replacing my old one with a very similar one. Where I bought it wanted $1500 to deliver and install and take away the old one. A.G. OBrien didnt deliver it but they brought it in from my garage, installed it, and took away the old one. THEY charged less than $600, saving me $900!! The technician was prompt, polite, fast, and efficient. If you have plumbing needs, try them and save yourself some real money!

Earlier this afternoon we had a leak in the ceiling. We quickly determined that we would need a plumber to come in because the main water line had to be shut off in order to fix this leak.I called A.G. OBrien and spoke to a wonderful and helpful woman named Juanita. I explained our situation to Juanita, who was not sure if theyd be able to help us at first, but did some research for me and quickly called me back to let me know that someone would be available to help us out with our last minute emergency.Plumbers Jeremy and Jameson came out to help us out within a few short hours. They were both very professional and got right down to business. They shut off the water line, drained the line, and patched it within about 30 minutes.Jeremy also went over other concerns he had after his investigation of the pipes, and suggested next steps while Jameson quickly and thoroughly cleaned up and prepared for their departure.Now, this is why I am leaving a review:I have spoken to many trades companies over the last few years, and I often get unfriendly service, a clear lack of motivation to work, and frequent no shows without adequate explanation.The customer service that I received at A.G. OBrien starting with Juanita and ending with the excellent service from both Jeremy and Jameson has concreted A.G. Pumped water for more than an hour and was able to get our pump to run overnight. Daryl Z was at our house at 7am to install the new pump. My HE forced air furnace was tagged out of service on Tuesday evening by Comfort Systems. Rather than repair it I decided to replace it. A couple of phone calls and emails with Brad at AGO on Wednesday and Service Tech Brian H. was at my home with a new HE furnace the next morning. Install was a bit tricky but Brian knew what to do and by Friday morning the new furnace install was complete and in full operation. Brian was knowledgeable, experienced, efficient, polite, and cleaned up after his work - a real professional. Ive used AG OBrien for residential heating and plumbing work for many years. They are people I trust to get the job done when they say they are going to do it and at the price they quote. A rock-solid well-respected local company with incredible customer service that has been around for many years and no doubt will be around for many more.

My experience is what it was but I feel the company is made of good people who want to be the very best in the service they provide. I respect that. I love that they listened to my concerns and really made an effort to work with me and talk honestly to me. Thank you!Initial review was…”Plumbers were friendly and knew what they were doing. They had to leave to pick up parts and it ended up making a fairly straightforward repair into an expensive one (apparently this took 3 hours). Paying almost $400 for resetting a single toilet seems very expensive to me. They also gave advice on a possible second bathroom but I will use a different provider for more transparency. “

They were great setting up the appointment and gave an approximate estimate over the phone. Brian came out and was right on time. Ty returned my call promptly, set up a time to come look at the job the next business day. He came looked at area and heater, he gave me options and recommended the most price efficient option. Which was a power vented water heater, so some extra piping needed to be installed which is clean looking and practical. I would highly recommend Ty and A.G. O’Brian to family and friends. Plumber just came to my house in Superior. He was great! He checked everything for a possible water leak from my water heater and found it was only two years old. So he thinks I had an increase in water pressure that caused the overflow to release a couple of gallons of water. He checked the water pressure and found it was around 70, so that is fine, he said. I’m going to call the city and see if they were working on water lines. In the meantime, I can rest without worry and use my hot water again. What a blessing it is to have, a company that will send someone right away! I called the big company in town and they said they would send someone but they did not. It was going to take weeks. An amazing human working for AG OBrien, squeezed us in just before Christmas to replace our hot water heater. The holidays are a notoriously difficult time for something to go wrong and no one wants to be working long hours in the days leading up to Christmas. My wife was cleaning out cupboards and found some ancient shredded coconut which she put down the garage disposal. Needless to say it clogged the sink. I removed the traps which had some coconut but the clog was farther down the pipes. I used a snake but could only pass it about 4 and that wasnt far enough to clear the drain. I called A.G. OBrien late on a Monday and they sent Kody Latvala out the next morning which I believe is excellent service. Kody called ahead, came on time and was a great guy, keeping me informed of what was going on. He had brought a power snake but it had issues at the tip and had multiple kinks and after working 2 hours he was unable to pass it much farther than I had passed mine. He removed the garbage disposal to try and access the plumbing via a vent. We removed the ceiling tiles in my basement so he could visualize the plumbing but he wasnt able to pass the snake beyond a 90 degree turn. He left and rented a different power snake but it took him an hour to drive to and from the rental shop. Once he had a working snake it took him 20 minutes to clean the clog. I had mentioned when I had called that I was also having issues with two toilets. I thought the wax rings had failed. One rocked and the other was leaking but that had not been put on the work order. He left and I called A.G. OBrien and they were able to send him back the next day, again phenomenal service. He removed the first toilet and felt the floor flange which had been installed 30 years ago when the house was built was too high, hence the toilet had always rocked. He felt the basement toilet likely only needed a flapper. So he left to get parts. He spent 2 or 2.5 hours removing the old toilet flange and drain and installing one flush with the floor. He had to work in a very cramped space on a two step ladders that we improvised but he replaced the drain and spliced it back into the main PVC drain. It took him minutes to replace the flapper and he also tightened the tank which stopped a leak. He thoroughly cleaned under the toilet he had removed and he cleaned up after himself. Kody deserves 5 stars.I initially ranked A.G. OBrien 3 stars because I was charged for what I felt was unnecessary labor and material because of the need to drive and rent working equipment which I felt should not have been my responsibility. However, the day after posting my rating, A.G. OBrien called me and agreed with my concerns and reduced the bill. I previously had noted that despite my concerns, Id recommend them because they were very prompt and did excellent work and I anticipated the issues with the power snake to be a one off. I wasnt expecting them to contact me and agree with my concerns and reduce my bill which is very honest of them. I have therefore edited this review to 5 stars. In hindsight I wish I had been fairer to them and contacted them before writing my review but I applaud their honesty and will definitely use them again if I have any additional plumbing needs.

They did fast, professional work, and even left the basement ceiling in tact!My second experience was today; my old kitchen drain line split causing a water leak all over the basement... Chris and Liz sent over their plumber Brian right away, who did an excellent job fixing the problem. He was literally in & out in 45 minutes, while I sat back and drank coffee.In marketing, they say that your employees ARE your brand... well A G OBrien has great people at the helm AND in the field. I actually left to run errands while he was still working and I never do that because of mom’s anxiety!!I would give them 10 stars if I could.UPDATE - We had to call them back for a new - unrelated to the previous - plumbing issue. They were able to squeeze us in on a very busy day for them because a tank in our basement had failed and was spraying water across the room. Once again, they were absolutely amazing. Prior to calling AG OBrien, I had a reputable company come out to unclog our kitchen sink line. Long story short, their efforts failed and, after piecing together some details and their findings and theories about the problem, my husband and I had been convinced that our drain had been clogged by a recent slab foam-jacking job and that the pipe had fully blown out when the guys tried to clear it! We called a few 24-hour plumbing companies over the weekend, but none of them called back. So as soon as they opened Monday, we called AG OBrien and told them our crisis. Juanita was so helpful and responsive. She made me feel listened to as I recited the tales of our clogged and now-busted drain line drama! Within a half hour, she was able to schedule (squeeze in, really) a plumber right away for that morning (I forgot his name). The plumber arrived on time, did some investigating, discovered the drain was actually still clogged, successfully unclogged it after some long hard work, and ran a camera 80 feet down the line to check our fears that the line had potentially busted, which it hadnt, thank GOODNESS! Immediate relief! Before he left, he even brought my package of fancy new watercolor paper that I didnt know had arrived in out of the rain.Oh, our bill will be pricey, yes, but we appreciated AG OBriens willingly-offered transparency about travel/labor costs before even scheduling the appointment, and, well, hey, you get what you pay for -- blink-of-an-eye professional service, a job well-done and actually COMPLETED, and so, so much peace of mind. Thank you for your thoroughness! Now I can sleep this week knowing that we dont have a swimming pool forming under our house : ) Please be prepared to do more work for us in the future because its you we will be hiring.

He called ahead to identify correct nozzles for both units and brought replacements based on my the only information I could supply. In one case. the informatin was wrong and he was able to explain what the best alternative available was able to complete all the required work in a a short time. He also labeled appliances with appropriate pars numberd so that future workmen could bring the corect replacements in the future. His explanations and work were the best Ive had in years.

Jeremy came to deal with a corroded and cracked cast iron 90 leaking in the wall. It was next to a water line, and it went directly into 4 cast. Not an easy job by any stretch, but he got PVC replacement parts mated in after cutting the bad parts out down to the 4 cast in just a few hours and was right pleasant to work with the entire time. I wouldnt hesitate to call OBrien Plumbing again if my walls leak into my basement from somewhere else :)
