    In today’s episode of “be persistent “ and “learning things”…. Don’t use space heaters.Now, I know we’ve heard not to plug them into extension cords and not to leave them unattended (Thank the Lord we didn’t) but today we learned just don’t use them at all unless you have dedicated outlet directly from the breaker box with nothing else on it.We had our space heater plugged in and were In the same room while it slowly melted this outlet. Thankfully we decided to leave and when we went into a different room the smell was strong. We unplugged it to find the plug melting into the outlet and it was HOT.We turned the breaker off and called a local electrician where we left a message then texted them a photo as well. We never received a call back.We turned the breaker back on eventually and it continued to warm up so we kept it off. I waited until the next day and called A-Abel Family of Companies and they answered immediately. When I told them what had happened they sent a tech out the same day. They also sent a photo and a bio about the Jeremy the technician so I would “know him” when he showed up. He was fantastic, friendly, and showed us the problem and explained why it happened and what would’ve happened eventually if left alone.I’m very thankful that we only had to replace an outlet

    I live in Tennessee and my uncle needed an estimate on a job. I reached out to A-Able via seeing them on line. The lady on the phone that helped me was so nice. We set up the call and today Bob Rutledge came out. My uncle is 95 and it’s hard for him to hear. After Bob left immediately I received an email with the est cost and my uncle called me and he was very pleased with how nice Bob was to him. Also, I was impressed with the fact that I received a call from him letting me know he was going to be early and he gave me a time frame. Being out of State and caring for my uncle isn’t easy, however A-Abel and Bob made it perfect. Bob made it a very smooth process for me. We hired them to complete the job. 🥇⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars givenThank you Bob Rutledge for being so nice to my uncle!

    We had a very scary situation with a smoking breaker box. A-Abel was able to send someone right away. Luckily the damage was limited to the breaker box and did not reach the wiring in the wall. Although the final repair of replacing the whole breaker box and underground cant be done until the next morning, he was able to get us set up with some limited power to get us through the day and evening. We so appreciated the quick response and peace of mind He was able to give. So thankful our house still stands by the grace of God as well

    When my garbage disposal went out I got an upgrade from 3/4 to 1 ho and thought I wired it up correctly. But every time I hit the switch it tripped the panel. A-Abel came to the rescue and wired it up properly super fast and well under what I expected to pay. I told the tech I was very pleased with the work and I definitely will recommend A-ABEL to my friends and coworkers. Great job!

    I had Sam from Aabel plumbing out to my house for a clogged basement drain.Sam was able to get my issue resolved quickly in one trip.I felt that the price was very generous and would definitely use this service again.I was unable to be home so I left a key outside.Before Sam left he called me and asked me where I wanted him to leave the key.When I returned home I found that everything was exactly the way he said it was over the phone.Great job Sam!     Bryon was great! He was so nice to my sister and me. He cleaned the dryer vent which called for him to go up on the roof, wore booties in the house, and was very helpful and answered all our questions. A-Abel had the best pricing around and there were no surprises on the final cost. My sister has used A-Abel for other projects and they were always outstanding.     There is a reason I always go with A-Abel when I need work done. In addition to being a local company with reasonable prices, they truly care about the work they do and go out of their way to make their customers happy. The technicians are always incredible. I honestly have no complaints and will always go straight to A-Abel when I have a need. In this particular case, I needed a level 2 EV charger installed. The cost was reasonable and the installation went off without a hitch.

    Ron was quite knowledgeable, efficient, and very good at what he does. What we thought was a major electrical issue he had it fixed so fast we almost couldnt believe it. I would recommend this company for all your electrical needs!!!!!!

    There was a strong smell of burning plastic smell coming from our vents that started late Friday night, of course.I was able to easily book an appointment for the next day, Saturday morning.The technician came out in a timely manner, was professional, and helped explain everything in an easily understandable way.Thankfully, it was a false alarm for anything serious, but Jason was able to reassure us everything was fine and provide simple steps to prevent this issue again.Extremely happy with the quality of service we were provided with and will absolutely use them again for any future needs.

    (I had to delete a previous/unrelated 5-star review so Google would let me post this one)We hired A-Abel to install a whole-house standby Generac generator at my 94-y.o. mom’s house. Everything went exactly as promised/scheduled – from the original assessment/estimate, to the installation, to the follow-up County inspections. They always showed-up like clockwork exactly as/when promised. I think there were 4 guys involved in the single-day install: a couple/three electricians and a plumber. All were very polite and respectful of the inside and outside of my mom’s property, took care to not track stuff in when going in/out of the house, and cleaned up after themselves after installation (the install-related debris). After the install, Electrician Jeremy took time to explain everything to me, show me the outside unit, what to expect during a power-outage, the biweekly automatic testing, and helped me install the optional monitoring app. A-Able took care to make sure both the electrical and plumbing (gas-related) inspections happened on the same day. On the day of the inspections, the A-Abel electrician and plumber called me separately around 8am to let me know they and the inspectors would be at mom’s house within the hour. Unfortunately, I had my mom in the ER. The A-Abel office admin folks were able to get everything rescheduled for us. All checked-out fine, and mom is doing well, thrilled and relieved (after last Fall’s power-outages) to have her whole-house Generac.This was an expensive project. We took quotes. A-Abel was middle-low. Having had A-Abel do a lot of work for mom and us over the years, we’re so glad we went with A-Abel on this job.

    My dryer outlet blew, the dryer wire to the circuit breaker melted and I had a load of wet towels needing attention. It was not good.     A-Abel is doing it our gas and electric for pool that Heatwave Pools is putting in. Prior to the install they have to come out to give estimates on hookups. The techs that came out (Nick and Richard) were absolutely great! Very professional, respectful and happy to discuss and educate you on the process and whats all going to be going on during the process. The best thing that always wins my business is the fact they are happy to support our military and offer a military discount for the services on top of their great prices they offer!     The Evans remembered Caleb from a prior installation for our RING doorbell in which he done a great job. It was then that Caleb mentioned that the wife and I should consider getting a new service box. Unbeknownst Caleb showed up to install our service box and 5 ceiling fans. The wife and I was happy trusting Caleb and the other workers for our instillation. They did a great job across the board. Caleb while installing the service box also advised the wife and I to also get the hook up for a generator in case of a power outage. The wife and I will request Caleb for future installations. Thanks Caleb for a job well done at our residence.

    Fantastic work, done quickly. The reason for only 4 stars is because on a rainy day. One guy didn’t wear booties and the other guy wore them but only for one trip. The end result was that I had to mop the tile and scrub the carpet.

    A-Abel has a reputation of being among the best in the business around Dayton Ohio..They assigned a technician name Caleb to install a ceiling fan on 9/26/2024. This gentleman not only completed the job in an outstanding manner, but informed me on how the code for placing the fan had changed since the last time our fan was installed 28 years ago. This gentleman was very personable and professional, and really impressed me with the way he cleaned up the work area after completing the job. I highly recommend Caleb for anyone that read this review ....you can rest comfortably after the job is done because its done correctly. Thank you Caleb!

    This is THE company you want to clean your heat and A/C ducts. They bring a big truck with a very powerful vacuum which they attach directly to your furnace. Then, the highly competent and professional technician feeds into each vent and return a hose of compressed air connected with mechanical whip. This completely dislodges all the dust, dirt, etc., and pushes it into that huge vacuum. These are our go-to guys for duct cleaning.

    Matt and Michael completed several jobs in our home: ceiling lighting, ring floodlight mounting, installation of a new outdoor outlet.     I was very pleased all around with my service. I was able to have a certified electrician out to my home the very next day after making my appointment. I had two outdoor outlets installed (2-plug on one side and four plug on the other) within two hours of signing my service agreement. Zero mess!     Wow. I’m totally impressed. Mike and Chris came to figure out what was wrong with my 58 year old boiler. They immediately figured out the problem. So they ordered the pump that had gone bad and within a few days they came back and replaced it and bled all the air out of the pipes. It only took a couple hours! They were so knowledgeable , personable, and capable that I didn’t feel awkward or intruded upon. They came back a few days later to check for air in the pipes and had done such a good job the last time that they didn’t have to do a thing to it and saved me another charge!!!     Ron first called to let us know he was on the way. He called again to let us know there was a road closure so it was going to take him longer. Keeping us informed on how far away he was from the house was incredibly thoughtful. He then checked all the outlets twice to find the GFI causing the issue. He then found an outlet we didnt even know was in the house! He is an excellent electrician! We highly recommend A-Abel!

    Came home to a busted water heater at 5pm on a Saturday. Contacted the plumber who put it in and he basically told me sorry about your luck till Monday. Reached out on Facebook and Nicholas Hirth told me to message him they could help. I had a new water heater installed by 10pm. Bill was excellent and had us good as new in no time. He also showed us why it failed because the previous plumber used DIY methods vs the correct way. Safe to say I am a customer for life now.

    Thank you for a great experience. Not only was the team communication key, but friendly and professional. The technicians explained and showed me everything that was wrong with my unit but also was educating the young technician that is learning. That’s a huge thing for me as this is a veteran owned business and as a veteran myself we learn by on the job. So I appreciated seeing OJT. My pup was shy but they were considerate of her shyness.     Our 20+ year old HVAC system had died and was replaced today. Technician Tim came out when it died and was able to band-aid it until the new one could be scheduled. He explained everything, and fully documented the issues. Today, Isaiah and Brandon arrived as scheduled and did the installation. They, too, were courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. They took great care to protect carpeting with drop clothes and put shoe covers on when entering the house. When done, they vacuumed the entire work area. I was able to get scheduled the next day after calling.     We purchased a tankless water heater from A-Abel, and the plumbers who installed it, Steve and Justin, went above and beyond to get everything right and fix issues we were not aware of that could have caused problems and damage later on. Our water pressure was too high coming in from the city, so they did some investigating and found out our water meter was leaking. I called the city water department and Steve and Justin worked with them to get the meter replaced and add a regulator onto our main valve so that the pressure was in normal range. Their install of the water heater was clean and top notch, and they were total professionals throughout the whole process, explaining everything. Steve even fixed a small issue with our toilet (leaking flapper) at the end of the day at no charge! Highly recommend A-Abel Plumbing, Steve, and Justin!

They went with me to Lowes to help pick out a better sink.     This was the second electric company. I’ve had to my home in less than one week to to try to figure out what was going on in my house electrically. duke had already been out twice the first time to replace the ground wire outside that the squirrels had eaten through, and the second time in the middle of the night to replace the main powerline after I had a second round of power surges through the house my lights were off and not working some of them were half working. Some of them were on when they should’ve been off and some outlets were dead. I called several other electric companies closer to where I live and it took one company five days to call back and the other ones never responded at all. this company. I called in the morning and explained my issues and my concern about safety. they said someone would be out that day, the technicians arrived almost an hour early, were well dressed, very polite and extremely knowledgeable. They went right to work, trying to diagnose the issue, gave me a fair price estimate, which was much less than I expected and set about to fix the issue. after the problem was identified and repaired they made sure that all of my lights, electrical switches, and outlets were safe and working properly. Can’t express how thankful I am for the prompt, efficient, knowledgeable service of these young men. Now my house is safe. I will recommend this company to everyone I know and have done so already because there’s always something around here!

    In June of 2021, we had basement water damage after a large amount of rain came down in a 24 hour period and we lost power. We decided to invest in a whole-house generator to prevent a repeat sump pump outage but wasnt sure where to start looking to purchase a generator. Several companies we called sell generators but they dont install or service them. We called A-Abel and learned they not only install them, but they service them as well. A whole-house generator requires yearly maintenance even if it is not used during the year. Our salesman, Jacob did an excellent job telling us which generator was right for our home and why. He took the time necessary to answer all of our questions. Once we moved forward with purchasing it, Jacob helped us with financing options. The installation went very smooth because A-Abel sent a team of highly skilled and knowledgeable employees (Bob, Jeff, and Sung). They even removed a large bush that was in the area where the generator was going to be installed. We later learned that the same team that installed the unit also does the yearly service on the generator. This gave us peace of mind. Before leaving, Bob went through a test run of the generator with us. He showed us the features and how to use them. He also left his business card (including his cell #), and told us we could call him directly if we should encounter any issues with the generator. Thats the kind of service more companies should offer. They have made a repeat customer out of us.

    I have used them on a few occasions now. Recently I was in need of a new HVAC unit. When Sean came out to do an estimate, we went over what I was looking for and what I was told when getting previous estimates. He didnt try to over sell me and instead gave me a new option which is working much better. When it came to the installation, they were very professional and did a great job. When there was an issue a few days later (on a Saturday of a holiday weekend) with my new mini split leaking, they got someone out that day to fix it. And because when 1 thing goes wrong, something else goes wrong, I had a pipe start to leak in the midst of the installation of the HVAC and mini split. They got someone out the next day. I was unable to be at home when the plumber finished up, but he had cleaned up the carpet with the towel I had laying there and emptied the bucket before he left. I will definitely be using A-abel in the future and recommending them to anyone I know that is in need!

    Having problems with furnace. They always come fast and corrected in no time. They also installed my generator and check it yearly. Very good and good staff. Highly recommend.

    A Abel Family of Companies, specifically the electrical department did major work on my property on 7/24/2024.The crew: Caleb, Brendon and Steven did an amazing job! It was a big job, 3 electricians all day they made sure my power loss was a minimum. My service needs were met. All of them were very professional and efficient as well as knowledgeable.     A-Abel came as soon as we called them. they temporarily fixed our boiler during the cold weather and ordered the part and came back on Tuesday and fixed it for us. They have been great with other service calls and that is why we purchased a service agreement with them. They are great!!!!

    The best thing I like about working with A-Abel is the varied professional services you have available. In my case of having collapsed HVAC duct work in the slab of my house, other HVAC companies could diagnose my problem, but could not do the repair. A-Abel had HVAC technicians to analyze my problem and offer solutions, then a staff of plumbers with the equipment and experience that were able to excavate and repair my problem. The staff of A-Abel were very professional and cleaned the work area perfectly when they were finished.

He came to figure out why the power stopped coming into our house, but then while he was here, he evan fixed our bathroom outlets that another electrician couldnt. He got the power back on (which was awesome since it was 15 degrees out) and is coming back tomorrow to replace our electrical panel. Very happy and impressed!

    Always professional. Electricians do a great job explaining what they have done, including sending pictures of the finished product. They installed an electric charger for my car about a year ago. The company called me recently due to a recall with the charger (which I had no idea about), scheduled service and came and replaced the part. They are friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciate their follow up! Wonderful company. Highly recommend.

    We had Allen Dunn a technician from an Abel heating and air come to our home to perform our preventive maintenance on our heat pump system. He was very professional, clean, and courteous. He did not mind me watching over him. He was very thorough. Not only did he inspect my entire indoor system including my water panels for my humidifier and filter for my fan coil. But he also took my outdoor unit apart got all the leaves out of the bottom washed all the outdoor coils. I was very impressed.

    So our water heater was very old and started leaking, so we contacted A-Abel and they got us an appointment for the next day. I just thought they were coming to inspect it and give a quick quote on a new one, but he had a new water heater ready to be installed in his truck and he put it in that same day! Our Tech was Zack and he was very nice and very professional! Cannot say enough good things about this company. We have used them before for backed up pipes and they were very helpful and did a great job with that as well. Highly recommend!!!
