Amazing service! I called yesterday afternoon to schedule service and was able to have a quick turn around, with service this morning. Chris and Charles are fabulous! Chris handles the scheduling and office, Charles does the electrical work. They are a brilliant pair! My list for Charles was 6 tasks, including one on a 1940 fixture. Chris asked for the list in email-- which made it easy for Charles to review and come back with his questions. The estimated time to do the work was 1 entire day. Charles completed all of it in less than 3 hours. Absolutely amazing! Charles is a brilliant electrician. Nothing surprises him. He is calm, cool and collected. Whatever the problem is, he can solve it. Chris and Charles are my go-to for any and all electrical work that needs to be done.

After the hurricane they helped me figure out what to say to the power company to get them back to our house and fix the power lines and the very next day they were there to install our new weather head on the roof. I have used Montgomery electric for various repairs over the past year on two occasions. In every aspect, both were excellent experiences. The office staff was pleasant and efficient in setting up the appointment. Chris Montgomery showed up in a timely and very courteous manner. He evaluated the issues in our 34 year old Dunedin home on both visits in a very efficient and effective way. He presented reasonable options, and repaired everything perfectly. The price was extremely fair. I was actually surprised as with labor and parts I was expecting a significantly higher cost.I find it difficult to locate really highly skilled, responsible, nice and fairly priced contractors, who you don’t feel are taking advantage or attempting to up sell you. I can safely say from my experiences that the the Montgomery’s are very trustworthy folks. I feel lucky to have found Montgomery electric, and without hesitation highly recommend them for your household or commercial electrical needs.

We have been using MontgomeryElectrical for at least ten years.I had a panel installed in our old house by a different electrician. The panel failed inspection. I had Charles fix the problems and it passed without any issues. The inspector was very impressed with the corrections Charles had done. Ive used Montgomery electrical ever since and have always been pleased with his professionalism and knowledge. Office manager Chris is always willing to work with our schedules and is very professional and knowledgeable as well. I will never call anyone else for our electrical needs.

Charles listened to what we needed and took his time deciding the most efficient way to get it done. He even spoke with our walk-in tub team to confirm the specs. Chris followed up after the tub install to see that the electrical tie-in was worked out.Never once did I feel pressured to have any additional work performed.I even asked if we needed the house re-wired and Charles assured me that we did NOT. Charles did a significant amount of work in my house. He was an absolutely pleasure to have around and I learned a lot about my house. His knowledge is unquestionable. He was able to make a very easy to consume plan to get my house up to snuff from a code perspective.He installed two bathroom fans, two ceiling fans, multiple dimmer switches, and sorted out a wiring mystery dating back to the 1960s that nobody had taken on in almost sixty years. He was patient, curious, and confident. I am so glad to have found Charles.Chris in the office is also a pleasure to do business with. She was extremely knowledgeable as well, so before I even met the electrician I had a good idea of what would be involved in the jobs.Finally, his prices are more than fair and extremely transparent. I simply will not ever consider doing business with another electrician.

Montgomery Electric has provided every electrical service for our home for more than 20 years. Upon purchasing our older home we learned early on the that existing electrical panel was too small and inadequate which as a result would blow circuits very often. We were plagued with bad grounding - stuff just didnt work correctly. Charles has upgraded everything for us from all of the outlets and switches all the way up to a new expanded panel. All along the way he has upgraded both our serviceability and functionally of our many systems. Now our stuff all works without any issues.Among the many items Charles has completed for us has been new circuits to provide power to parts of our home that had none prior, including new and upgraded 240 volt circuits. The service that Charles and Chris has provided has been exceptional. We view them as more friends than electrical problem solvers.Charles knowledge is second to none. Somehow he manages to keep up with the new devices available and what it takes to make them work in our environment.The pricing is more than fair. They are always on time and somehow seem to work us into their schedule in a most timely fashion. Bottom line is that they are a pleasure to work with and would and have given our friends and neighbors a recommendation for Montgomery Electric for their electrical issues.

Like another reviewer, I didn’t want to go to a large company for the electrical work I needed done on my 1985 home. However, I’m new to Clearwater and didn’t know anyone that could make a recommendation, so I went online with Home Advisor and received the names of several companies in the area. I talked with two of them and was dismayed to find out that one of them would only quote the entire job and was unwilling to quote by the hour, and another one wanted to charge me for their travel time to give me a free estimate! Luckily, I went online and found Montgomery Electric, a husband and wife team located in Clearwater. After talking with Chris I was convinced I had the right team, and this was before I met Charles!When Charles arrived at my home, I didn’t have to ask him to put on his mask. I’ve had to ask every other service person that has come to the house during the pandemic to do that. Because I had both outdoor and indoor wiring issues, Chris asked me to prioritize what I needed done. I showed Charles my outdoor issues first, followed by my indoor issues. The types of problems I knew about included several outdoor plugs and outdoor lights not working, live wires sticking out of a box that did not have a cover on it that shocked a technician installing a water softener, and bad wiring to a pump for a sprinkler system including use of an extension cord. Charles was able to fix those problems and others that I didn’t know about in a little over 5 hours.I knew about two electrical issues inside the house. Every time I turned a certain switch that controlled a pair of outdoor lights at my dock, the lights in two bedrooms, bathroom, hallway and my TV would go out. I also needed 4 ceiling fans replaced. Little did I know the extent of bad wiring and code violations in the older portion of my home until Charles started to replace the fans!It turns out a previous owner did his own electrical work to install the original fans. Charles found extension cords used for wiring, switch boxes with no backs, ceiling boxes used instead of fan boxes, and bad wiring. Needless to say, I didn’t know the extent of the bad wiring and code violations, but am so relieved that Charles found the issues and quickly fixed them. I am not an electrician and every time he found an issue he would clearly explain what he found and what needed to be done in terms that I could understand.And, after every day, he presented me a time and material invoice that clearly described what he did. I truly feel the quality of Charles’ work coupled with the pricing he charged was very reasonable. Both he and Chris are class acts and I strongly recommend them. Sincerely, Jackie

I sudden, unexpected, death in my family, and needed some important electrical work done at a family member’s house ASAP.The home was old and there was an issue with the wiring in the house that could have led to a fire and/or injury so these needed to be addressed quickly and I was working with a limited budget and a short time period.I was fortunate enough to find Montgomery Electric.When I called, I met Chris, she was attentive, kind, and extremely helpful.Chris arranged for Charles, a licensed electrician, to come to the house and conduct a survey; his occurred the day after we spoke, which was a Saturday, however, Chris did not charge any extra for the weekend work.Charles met me at the house and spent plenty of time with me discussing and gaining a complete understanding of the situation before he did his own detailed assessment. Charles was exceptional, he was detailed, professional, a true subject matter expert with both knowledge and integrity! Charles surveyed the home and identified the hazards; he prioritized these hazards for me based on the seriousness of the circumstances.Chris and Charles then created a plan, with costs, to address all of the issues that were identified and discussed with me during the survey.Charles would arrive at my home as planned, he has never late, arriving promptly at 8:30 am each day. The hazards were systemically corrected, and each day I received an update on the cost of the day’s work, based on a time and materials basis, and I also received an estimate for the following day with the work that was planned and subsequent costs.Charles was so neat, so detailed, and so conscientious about his work, it was just so evident to me how much he cared because I was there each day as he did his work for a two-week period. At the end of each workday Charles cleaned up the work area and always left the space better than he found it.After two weeks I had to leave, however, there was still plenty of work to be done. I gave Charles and Chris access to the home and the work continued for another 2-3 weeks in my absence.During this time Chris maintained contact with me by phone, text, and email. I was always aware of the status of the project, and there was always total transparency on all costs. In additon, the responsiveness to any of my questions was always so prompt, like within the hour prompt ... just amazing!I returned about 8 weeks after the work started to check on the overall condition of the house. The work done by Montgomery electric was exceptional! I had to have numerous inspections and they all passed on the first try with no issues or concerns by any of the independent inspectors.I could not be more pleased with Montgomery electric; they were simply exceptional!! There is no question, if I have any issue, I will call them without a moment’s hesitation!I am so confident in their service that when I met with a general contractor that I will be using to do a major renovation, I insisted that all electrical work be done by Montgomery Electric. Older home, original fuse boxes, sagging electrical wires over house, up North at the time of the work, these are just a few of the issues that we faced. Montgomery Electric was recommended by neighbors who used them for their electrical work. Chris walked us through all the permits and personally interfaced with the Electric Company for us regarding the wires over the house completely resolving that issue so the work could proceed. The new electrical box was completed expertly and because we were not present at the time, everything was labeled for us when we returned. The Montogomerys run a business on old time values of trust,reliability, and customer service with up to the minute electrical expertise. That was my wifes feelings that made her very secure for what was been done, as the husband the day I had them come out for an est. I was cutting the grass I lost a ring my wife gave me would be a real problem for me, Charles found it and gave it to me that is when I knew I had the right company.

We called Montgomery Electric and Chris (in the office) suggested some troubleshooting steps to take.
