I had a recirculation pump installed to quickly get hot water up to my home’s showers and faucets from the tankless water heater in the basement. Technician Christian did the install, had a great personality, and did an incredible job, explaining all the working details. He was very thorough, clean and communicative. Eugene and George were also helpful in answering all my questions and rescheduling my appointment after I experienced a family emergency. This company stands behind their work (I previously had a garbage disposal installed and it had a slow leak…they came back immediately to resolve the problem). Thanks for the hot water in 5 seconds!

We used First Chicago Plumbing to remove an old toilet that was acting up and install a new toilet wed purchased. They are incredibly buttoned-up: We sent them photos of our existing toilet and specs of our new toilet and they sent back a detailed estimate.Setting up an appointment was easy and our plumber arrived right on time, just as our text message from First Chicago said he would. Our plumber, Jacob, installed the toilet efficiently and kept our bathroom tidy. The contracted work included hauling our old toilet away.First Chicago Plumbing was a bit higher in cost than other plumbers we reached out to but it was worth it for reliable, competent service. Wed rather invest in a good installation job and avoid nightmare scenarios with a shoddy installation. Would highly recommend First Chicago Plumbing!

Great first experience with First Chicago Plumbing. They arrived within 90 minutes of my initial call. Justin and Jonathan were friendly and explained what they were doing and why. The pricing is competitive and much more fair than other plumbers in the area. We’ll definitely use them again!

I contacted First Chicago Plumbing last year as I was considering replacing a very old boiler system. This year, was ready to get the work done before winter. I dealt directly with the owner, Eugene, who from the first moment we were in contact was courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and reliable. We ended up expanding the project quite a bit and I signed the estimate. There were a few other add-ons we had discussed depending on how the project progressed and how much they would end up adding to the cost. I ended up getting everything I wanted done. I was spending quite a bit already, but I felt overall the price was fair for the value I received.Eugene’s crew followed the example he set. They were prompt, courteous, and very fast. All the while Eugene was in contact and personally ensured the job went smoothly. He took the time to explain everything to me and answered all of my questions. His crew let me know when they were done and left the worksite clean and complete. But Eugene still came out to personally ensure all was well. I would highly recommend First Chicago Plumbing and will rely on them for my future plumbing needs.

Clear on the estimate (which was reasonable). On time – both on the arrival and getting the job complete. And they did great work – the right way. Im actually super excited to know I have a plumbing company I can trust for any future work. A new hot water heater is next... and their quote was so much better than one I received from a big name heating and cooling company.

The process to get an estimate is easy and done over the phone and by email. The plumbers were able to come prepared from the photos I provided during the quote phase. The job was done efficiently, cleanly, and to code. They also cleaned up well prior to leaving. From the first call through the end of the job, responsiveness and politeness were top notch. I would hire them again.

The good: Responsive, timely and did what they said they would do. While refused to help with a minor second thing as Not on the work order he did give me some pointers.The other: Extremely expensive. Change a $9 toilet water shut off valve, whereas I removed the toliet to make access even easier. I also scouted and saved a parking space. Took about an hour total. As a high rise, I had to have a certified Plumber as they had to turn off water to 22 units second bathroom for an hour. Easy DIY at a home where you control the water shutoff.Overall a good outfit and the only one I could get to actually call me back and come at a designated time. Just expensive

I hired First Chicago Plumbing to remove and install 3 new toilets and seats. They responded the fastest of any of the plumbers I reached out to and arrived exactly when planned. They worked efficiently and finished the job in a timely manner. The toilets work great and they helped clean some of the previous silicon that was attached to the floor without my knowledge.Couldnt recommend more and I appreciate First Chicago Plumbing for their good work!

My utility sink in the basement backed up. I couldnt use that sink, my washing machine or my kitchen sink. First Chicago Plumbing picked up my call right away and scheduled a plumber to come out the very next day. The plumbing piping underneath my basement had a fat clog blocking the flow into my catch basin. The plumber, Justin, arrived on time, tried to root out my pipe, but my existing piping arrangement did not allow for that. I agreed that a section of above ground old piping was replaced with new pipng and a cleanout installed for rooting the clog and for future maintenance. Justin was experienced, thorough and quick. I estimated that the companys pricing was on the high side for both material and labor, but I wanted the problem fixed & Justin did just that!

I only wish we had discovered First Chicago Plumbing sooner! FCP is the definition of a local, family business that holds honesty and trust over profits. After two other companies gave us estimates in excess of $50K to remedy a sewer pipe blockage, Eugene came in with alternative solutions that did not require us to dig out our entire finished basement, and was even able to get the city of Chicago involved, something no other company offered. We had a complete rodding and hydrojetting of our 100+ year old clay pipe and Justin and Vasile did an extremely thorough job, we couldnt be happier! So thankful for this company!

I really liked Eugene and his co-worker (didnt catch his name). They made me feel very comfortable with the work they were going to perform, and explained everything very thoroughly. They did a few different unrelated plumbing jobs at my house, and all appeared to be done very well. They also determined the source of a roof leak that Id had for a few years which wasnt directly plumbing related, which was excellent...now I know how to approach getting the issue fixed. Very professional, fair prices, excellent and prompt service. I would rate these guys among the best service people Ive had work on my home.

I had to call First Chicago after the pump installed by Baethke Plumbing failed completely. Baethke came out and the quote they gave me for only taking apart the pump to diagnose the issue was crazy. First Chicago Plumbing was more economical, a far better value and provided excellent & immediate service, plus a three year guarantee, compared to a much more expensive plumber. Highly recommend, and THANKS First Chicago.

Even before booking the job, the project manager spend a lot of time with me answering questions and making sure that I understood the process and was prepared in advance - I had a gas pipe moved so it want a standard plumbing job. They arrived on time, worked professionally and efficiently and were able to think creatively to get the job done (old building, modern stove, not quite compatible).This is my first plumbing job in Chicago so I dont have a basis of comparison for pricing but the cost didnt seem unusual to me.I have no reservations about recommending First Chicago Plumbing.

I quoted with several well established, and well reviewed companies in Chicago and Chicago First Plumbing provided the best value. We have used them already to change two sections of the pipe and both times the work was professionally completed to our total satisfaction, not charging more than the original quote even though the work both times included valves and elbows not originally in the scope of the project.
