We needed a handyperson in Chicago to fix a leaky PVC pipe under our sink/garbage disposal.Initially, we hopped on taskrabbit but after browsing through a bunch of profiles, it seemed that all the good ones were booked out or unavailable.After that failed experiment, we turned to Fixer based on a recommendation and couldnt be more happy with our decision. They arranged for someone to come out that same day and took care of the plumbing issue in under an hour or two. Their technicians were simply fantastic. The two handywomen that arrived were knowledgeable, super friendly, and professional. They addresses the problem, communicated with us at every step, and replaced the leaky pipes in a timely manner.Its worth noting that Fixers prices were very reasonable. No question, we will use them again for future home repairs based on how easy and simple it was to book. We highly recommend trying them out if you need a handy person to help you knock out smaller projects around the house like plumbing repairs or electrical work in the Chicagoland area. Thanks again!

I called for some drywall repair in the kitchen of a condo i own, as there were mice coming in for the winter. Fixer was super responsive! Steve D. from Fixer arrived on time, was friendly and approachable, and offered up solutions beyond what i had requested, and they were great! He was efficient, very clean and as i mentioned, he was super friendly and knowledgeable. I would use Fixer and Steve D. for any additional project going forward. Priced right as well!

I like Fixer. They do a great job. The same young man always comes to my home. I like when a company retains their employees. Shon does great work and he gives me tips on keeping things running well in the house. I had them hang 2 TV’s on the wall for me. Excellent job! Didn’t make or leave a mess. I work a lot so this is a terrific way to keep my home in tip top shape. When you own property, you must take care of it, otherwise a small problem can grow into a large one and end up costing more money. Fixer is great. I have a membership. Small home. But it’s my pride and joy!

My experience with Fixers was awesome. Andrew and Nino are amazing! I just moved into my house and had a list of to-do’s for them including installing ceiling fan, replacing kitchen faucet, fixing closet doors, assembling an office desk and two bath cabinets. Fixer is modern, efficient and transparent. Theyve done an awesome job of taking a difficult process (finding and hiring a contractor or service technician) and making it super easy. It was easy to book an appointment. The two guys who mounted our TV were professional and got the job done quickly. They took care of the equipment and made sure it all functioned well. The billing was transparent. Two techs helped with this project, and I could see the billing for each one them broken out online. It was easy to pay (through their website) and even tip via their website. Id highly recommend this service because it really has solved a lot of the friction and stress of securing and paying for this kind of work.

I contacted Fixer to remove exterior rooftop doors and trim, haul away debris, install new door jambs, exterior doors, and storm doors, and seal everything around the brick exterior. Fixer was responsive and able to accommodate my needs in a short window where other contractors I dealt with could not. The fixers arrived on time and did an excellent job meeting my requirements. I especially want to shout out to Roman for keeping a very open line of communication and walking me through the work periodically over the two days. If I ever need to use Fixer again, I would ask for Roman. My only constructive feedback, and the reason for four stars and not five, is the “communication” with the Fixer office. I was never able to speak to someone over the phone. Images and text messages are not a sufficient replacement for an actual live conversation, especially when spending close to $5,000 on a job. Rather than just relying upon the photos I sent to be sufficient for Fixer to determine the hours needed and resources required, I opted to pay the $139 consulting fee for Roman to actually stop out for a review. We both agreed that the 3.5-4.5 hrs of work that Fixer quoted me was going to be far too little. I even told Fixer up front that the job would likely need three fixers for the better part of two days. I know this because my neighbor recently had the exact same work done. I couldn’t help but feel like such a lowball estimate was just a way to get into the project, and I’d end up requiring the same amount of work I said it needed from the very beginning. There were also a couple items of miscommunication because all of it is done via text message. Not a big problem, but definitely noticeable when a phone call would have been more efficient. Overall yes, I would use Fixer again - but for less important work where texting to communicate is sufficient.EDIT: I realize the owner responded below with instructions of how to set up a call, but I asked several times over text message to have a phone call, and those specific texts were ignored. So I went along with the text messaging route instead.

They were on time and quickly went to work to hang two kitchen cabinets doors under the sink and because in order to properly install them they had to reinforce where the doors were to be installed,they explain why they needed to do this, once they were finished, I inspected their work and found that had did a excellent job of installing the two doors to my satisfaction, would highly recommend theses two women to fix your problems at your home. Thanks good job everyone.

The Fixer app has literally fixed all my problems just by being there for me when I need it.Its the middle of the heatwave and for whatever reason my ceiling fan broke so my number one priority is getting a new one installed ASAP, I reached out to fixer on a friday night exactly when the fan broke and the first availability was Monday morning and my fixer was here exactly when they said they would be.Unfortunately, my fan needed a different mount but my fixer told me what to go into Home Depot and ask for help for and tried his best to help me in the situation and I really appreciate that!He accidentally left his box cutter here and I was able to reach out in a text that was was responded to by an actual person that helped to fix the situation!*Long story short* - Whatever your problem may be just make sure you put as much information as possible in your request and someone from fixer will try and help you fix your problem!

We are so thrilled with the work Fixers did in our apartment! Request Edgar and DeAngelo- they installed a 13-foot long shelf into a metal stud about 12 feet up a wall in under 90 minutes. They wore shoe covers and completely cleaned up when they left. The concierge was also very helpful and we were able to communicate through text, which was convenient. Great prices, very professional, awesome work. Will be using this service again in the near future!

Had such a great experience with Fixer! Im pregnant and cant really get on ladders like I used to - and Im used to doing a lot of the work around here by myself. But now I know its totally okay (and great!) to hire out for work you cant quite do yourself - which, for me, was installing bay window curtain rods, and shortening the cord for a pendant fixture and installing it. I thought it was a super reasonable price (especially for keeping me safe and off a ladder!) and it was done so fast! I know as a new homeowner well have a ton of projects like this and I know well be hiring Fixer again soon. Great experience from start to finish.

Fixer’s Care and Protect program has allowed me to catch up on the deferred maintenance in my old victorian house!I alway have a list, so I signed up for the Care and Protect program. It gives me a discount, and lets me reserve a set time once or twice a month *in advance* with my assigned Fixer.I prefer to schedule the work in full days, and it’s great knowing when Fixer Becky will be here next.When something comes up to be fixed (like leveling the bookcase sitting at a lean on my wavy wood floors) or upgraded (like adding a medallion to that plain ceiling) on the house, I just add it to the list.Highly recommend!

You are well informed every step of the way. The prices are right for these handyman type assignments.Chang was our fixer, and he explains what your options are and what is practical. He is not trying to oversell his hours, he is technical with his analysis and always looking to solve the root cause of the issue. In this crazy age where you feel you cant trust anyone, Chang is a shining example of an honest person doing honest work and proud of his company. He is willing to advise you on alternative approaches and even your best option, which may or may not be Fixer work.I am pleased with the whole experience and plan to use Fixer again in the near future. The company is run well and the price and advice you get for solving these handyman type problems is 1st rate.

I hired Fixer to replace stubborn, corroded shower diverters. My condo has not had plumbing updates since it was built in the 1960’s so there is no diy-ing any fixtures without potential problems. My request went out and within 10 minutes I heard from Fixer that someone could address this next day, if needed. Fixer responded almost as fast in getting required paperwork to my HOA - then it was on the next day’s schedule! A plumber, Lex, arrived (early!), removed the corroded items, determined the materials to fit the job, installed them and then explained what to look for if this is a problem in the future. He also found materials that are easy on arthritic hands. The reason I would hire again is responsiveness, interest in a job that others might find mundane, and doing it to fit the needs of the customer. They were also reasonably priced.

I hired this company to hang mirrors and other misc. items in my new bridal store location. the guys were great but when I went to pay my bill they asked for feedback. I felt I wasnt given a realistic time frame of how long the job should take. The guys that came were good, on time and careful but hanging 8 mirrors, some very large, in 2 hours couldnt have happened. Long story short, I gave this feedback to the company and they credited me back 2 hours worth of my payment. I didnt ask for any money off my bill because the guys werent extremely slow or anything, I was just given an unrealistic time frame. This shows me that they care and would want me to use their services again and I will!
