Baethke Plumbing provided the best plumbing experience I’ve had to date. Upon initial reach out, the woman I spoke to on the phone was very kind and clear about their costs and process. They provided text notifications throughout, informing me the plumber was on his way. Last and definitely not least, Yuriy the plumber was a consummate professional. He brought his own foot mat, placed covers on his shoes to not track snow, and provided clear and informative guidance on my situation. He was very pleasant to interact with and every question I had was answered. Will definitely be using Baethke Plumbing again.

Back in December, we needed to replace our water heater, so we called them for help. Ron did an outstanding job and completed everything in just one day. He was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all my questions, and provided multiple pricing options without making us feel pressured to choose. Baethke is the best choice for your plumbing needs! I needed professionals to check a leak in my water heater. My girlfriend found this company after a quick search, suggested giving them a call, and I’m very glad I did! From the moment I called Baethke and told Perri of our plumbing emergency, she was sympathetic and understood the importance of dispatching a plumber ASAP. My husband and I had to shut the water off in the house because of a nonstop leak somewhere in our bathroom. As an aside, Perri has the sweetest voice, and represents the Baethke family perfectly. No matter the request, she is there to help you.Lou Vicari was dispatched within a day to diagnose our problem, which ended up being a nonstop leak in our bathroom wall that flooded our bathroom cabinet drawers. This is not a problem that is easily found. But Lou relentlessly worked on finding and repairing the leak. As well, we had a cracked toilet that needed replacing and Lou updated our plumbing under the sink, as well as got us a new faucet. I should add that my husband Jim and I are very impressed with how Lou had everything on the truck that he needed for his days work. More often than not, tradesmen come to our home and need to make trips to Home Depot for things they need.We are not only impressed with Baethkes level of professional service, with their cheerful text sending us a picture of Lou and an update on Lous arrival time, we are also impressed with Lous skill and work ethic. He spent the day with us making sure that everything was perfectly repaired, and did so tirelessly. It was amazing to watch him go from one thing to another without stopping for a break. Bill arrived on time. He was very professional and dove right in to locate the problem with the shower. After assessing the problem, he gave a few options to proceed. Explaining each procedure in depth, a decision was made, and he was able to start the job immediately. He kept me informed of what was happening the entire time. Bill was knowledgeable about his profession and ended the repair to great satisfaction. Being the second time I used Baethke, Ill continue to use them in the future.

I had a bad water heater leaking down on my lower condo unit neighbors and Baethke Plumbing dispatched a plumber (Billy McMahon) right away and he arrived within 30 minutes. The plumber assessed the problem and reviewed several options with me and he explained each one. I elected to replace the 50 gallon water heater with a new tank (similar) and the plumber said he could do it right away. I was thrilled to have such a speedy resolution to my emergency situation. I highly recommend Baethke Plumbing. An Excellent customer experience and the plumber (Billy McMahon) was very knowledgeable and polite.

Baethke &sons replaced our hot water heater. The entire process was efficient from the first inquiry call to project completion. After calling yesterday afternoon I was able to schedule for next morning to assess our non emergent leakage from our tank. Josh was on time , offered clear explanation of the problem and offered multiple options for replacement. After agreeing on an option Josh quickly engaged the warehouse to get the tank and Mikey to assist with installation. Both were personable, professional, communicated well and completed the project just 26 hours after my initial contact. Price was competitive.

He then explained there were a couple of mistakes on our original plumbing installation that should be corrected. He was extremely patient in answering all of our questions. As always, Baethke was there when we needed them! Ron came on time, diagnosed and explained the problem, called for parts that were delivered to him at our house, fixed everything, and cleaned up under our kitchen cabinet. Baethke is certainly a premium plumbing service, but its worth it and is greatly appreciated.Another visit, another great experience: Ron and Mike this time, quickly replaced a main water valve, changed a corroded fitting, cleaned aerators. We also needed a new part for an unusual faucet and Ron called the distributor, explained what we needed and planned for its delivery. Thank you again!

My Service Technician Yuriy Striltschuk was very professional & friendly. On the initial appointment, he reviewed my current flood control system and provided recommendations in a very professional manner. He advised I needed some electrical work before he could install a new flood control system. Yuriy was instrumental in communicating what electrical work needed to be done to my contractor. After the electrical work was done, Yuriy did a great job installing the new system. My experience with Yuriy was fantastic. I strongly recommend a Hi-5 award for Yuriy.

I used Baethke Plumbing in the past when I listened to wife to go cheap to change seal on toilet and the CHEAP GUY had no clue and more water leaked into basement from toilet to which I THEN called Baethke who did the job right. THIS TIME, I had upstairs 2nd floor bathroom leaking to first floor. Issac and George came out to swap new toilets and redo the seals for both first and second floor who I called to avoid it done wrong. Isaac who is a master plumber was skilled enough to take ONE LOOK and know in his gut that it was NOT the upstairs seal that had worn out overtime and pleaded with me to open the ceiling to make certain where the leak was coming from. I knew I had to repair the ceiling so I gave Isaac the green light to do so. Oh my God!! Isaac was not only right on his instinct but proved and uncovered the worst plumbing job from when my second floor edition wad done before I bought my house. The large pipes were butted together, rapped with film, and tarred over against every plumbing law and code of how should be done that now tar wore out and was leaking badly. It was a SERIOUS job that MUST be done correctly or will haunt me later again. Isaac and George took measurements and made a list of materials. The next day Isaac and Kayleigh came to do the job. 11 hrs from 8am-7pm. The job was impeccable! They redid floor flanges correctly for those were done wrong by previous installer and installed new toilets. Now, I have visible and hidden nanny cams in my house. I had no choice but to step out to pick son up as well and to do errands. Baethke was the MOST professional and literally focused on THEIR work and were VERY respectful of complete house and property minding their own business NEVER looking at or touching what they should not touch when I stepped out leaving them alone to complete their work. I had ceiling repaired after they finished but took picture of their work before repairing ceiling. The plumbing is NOW done perfectly correctly to city codes and sound! Call Baethke if you want it done perfectly AND can feel calm and safe about leaving your house with them to do it without you being there!!

I put in a request for service because of a plumbing leak (water was seeping through my dining room ceiling from something on our second floor). I started the request for service through their website. I did this in the evening, expecting a call back during regular business hours. I received a call within minutes of the website request to see if I needed immediate help (which I did not). The service was scheduled within a day the following day. The office called to confirm the day of the appointment and I received an email with information about which plumber would be coming to my home. Ron and Cristian arrived on time for the appointment. They listened carefully to me explain the problem and clearly outlined possible solutions as well as how this impacted any charges, prior to beginning the work. They took care to make sure anything in the area was secured and covered - because they had to cut through our plaster ceiling to access potential line sites which might be leaking. They were able to figure out the problem, did the repairs, cleaned up and put everything back when they were done. Both of them are friendly, informative and they clearly have the expertise I needed. I have a home that is more than 100 years old and as a consequence we seem to always have something unusual come up when we start a project or a repair. They were clearly up for the challenge! We have used this company several times for installation of plumbing fixtures or for repairs and every staff person that has come here has been professional and helpful. I would rate Cristian and Ron and the office staff A+++.

I am a repeat customer but I do use them as a second choice. Why? While they do good quality work, they are very expensive. I paid $555 to have a faucet replaced and I provided the faucet. I am confident when I call them that the work will be solid but $555 is a lot for a very short period of work. They were not on time which was a challenge with my morning appointments.

Hired John Baethke & Son to handle our new tankless hot water heater install plumbing needs. They came highly recommended by Current Electric in Glenview -- who handled our electric needs for this with much success by the way! We had Cormac handle the work and he was super. Answered all questions, provided me multiple options for the work needed, and completed all needed updates in one single day.The tankless unit we ordered from Amazon (Eco 18) needed to be replaced due to a hairline crack but all of the work completed by Cormac was working and looks great. I couldnt be happier. These are my new go-to plumbers going forward.Photo of the final setup is attached. They installed clean supply and feed lines to the tankless along with pressure relief valves for both sides. Clean and sleek!Be sure to ask for Cormac by name to handle your work -- he rocks!

I not only use Baethke Plumbing personally but have been recommending them for years to our building inspection clients. Very tightly run company with highly experienced plumbers who do first rate work. Are they the cheapest- no. But when it comes to plumbing work this is where you don’t cheap out as it could cost you twice their original fee to come in fix someone else’s slop. And as a building professional I see slop on a daily basis. They’ve installed a new tankless for us, sump and ejector pumps, whole house water filter, garbage disposer, new hose bibs and several other odds and ends and I never have to worry about execution. They do it right the first time.

They made sure to have a dispatcher answer their calls when you initially call them then have someone else promptly follow up to book your appointment. I called on a Sunday evening due to an emergency leak from the dishwasher hose and I was booked the following Monday morning. They advised me someone would come out between an estimated time frame of 10A-1P but Ron was available to come earlier at about 9A-9:30A -- which was a pleasant surprise! I highly appreciated the attention and immediate availability. Ron assessed my situation thoroughly, explained what he noticed needed to be fixed, and showcased different payment options based on different services needed to be done, etc. I felt at ease and not pressured when he explained the payment options and he worked right away and quickly. Everything needed to resolve my situation was stocked in their truck -- thank goodness for same-day visit resolution! I highly recommend this company due to their prompt attention, thorough explanation, professionalism, and explanation and breakdown of payment costs based on services. Yurly, the technician Baethke sent, was wonderful to work with. He was professional and friendly and took the time to explain everything he did. I had received 2 notices from the Chicago utility that I had a leak so Yurly needed to do some detective work to find the source of the leak. He tested all the possible areas that could be causing the problem, including the 4 spigots on the outside of the house, the plumbing points in 4 bathrooms, the kitchen, and laundry area. Within 30 minutes, he identified the toilet that had a very slow, barely noticeable leak. Then he clearly explained possible solutions and completed the work I wanted.I am impressed by Yurly’s detective skills and professional approach. I highly recommend Baethke Plumbing.

Living in a 100+ year old building you develop a fear for anything that requires opening up a wall. They did a great job minimizing the opening they had to make (I can easily hide it behind a small bookcase), the were very quick and efficient (Matt estimated theyd have the water off for 2 hours and they were ready to turn it back on at 1 hour and 58 minutes), very neat (no debris or dust was left behind), prompt (arrived 15 minutes early) and extremely pleasant. Ill definitely call them again if I need plumbing work done.

We had a 50 gallon water heater that died. We were planning on going through Home Depot outsourcing but they said they couldn’t do the project due to space and said the best solution that they could offer was to downsize to a 29.5 gallon tank. We called John and he said not a problem. Came earlier than expected, did the entire project without any issues and they were able to still use a 50 gallon tank. They found an issue with a dryer vent too and they handled it on the spot. Quick, effective, and extremely pleasant to work with. Would highly recommend and plan on using again in the future if something comes up.

Josh Hall arrived on time, was extremely personable, listened carefully, did a visual inspection, and provided several options at various price points. By the end of Joshs visit we knew the money we have to spend would be spent for good reasons to produce a lasting fix and that we will be happy with the outcome. I also noticed that John Bathke & Son Plumbing had serviced the home prior to my ownership. After reading such good reviews and getting a recommendation, I would have to agree.I made an appointment, which ended up having to be rescheduled because they had an emergency service they needed to perform for another client. They reduced my flat fee by 50% because of the inconvenience, which was nice.The plumber who came to service my house was Ron. He has nearly 40 years of experience. He was professional, personable, patient, and explained things plainly. I didn’t feel like he was trying to sell me on things that were unnecessary. He had practical solutions for what I would want done.After going through a number of concerns, wants and needs for my plumbing situation, Ron gave me several options at various price points. Ron started part of the work right away and scheduled out the rest of the job for another time. I’m looking forward to getting the rest of the job done and have good confidence in their service and skill. I would absolutely recommend them.

I would recommend this company based on my overall experience with them. I used them for preventive maintenance and while the plumber who came to do that should have pointed out some issues with our boiler installation before proceeding (which caused us some hot water delay issues which we never had before the maintenance), they sent their quality control person (Josh) who basically fixed our installation issue at no charge (and it required a decent amount of work and materials). They did a great job and were very professional and explained the installation issue in detail and why it caused the hot water delay after the first plumber performed the maintenance which required draining the pump.

We had water backing up into our basement and after looking at some good reviews decided to call John Baethke & Son Plumbing. We got ahold of someone instantly and within 10 mins had someone on their way to our home to help us. Nathan arrived within an hour and was able to assess our problem, figure out what needed to be done, give us multiple estimates/options to solve the problem, and fix the issue correctly. He had excellent customer service skills, was patient and able to explain everything to us thoroughly. Overall it was a great experience, which we were so grateful for considering the problems we were dealing with. My father was here visiting and, having owned a general construction company for over 30 years, has dealt with many plumbing companies, and he was also very impressed with Nathan’s professionalism and personality. My basement flooded today and the restoration company I had in recommended I call a plumber. I came across John Baethke & Son on google and saw they had a reasonable amount of reviews, most being positive. I called and they responded quickly with availability. They came same day, even with Chicago getting tons of rain and other companies being too busy. Josh arrived shortly after and reviewed the problem and discussed the options with me. He told me what he felt the best route was to solve the problem and keep costs down. (Since we have to now replace furniture, drywall, carpets, and other personal items as well as pay for ServPros services with little to no help from the insurance company) He was patient and helpful; talked me through what he was doing; he then showed me the culprit and the progress he was making. He cleaned up and continued on his way. I don’t review companies often but felt Josh’s patience, great service, and the fact we had our issue resolved in a timely manner deserved a shout out. Thanks for your help guys, especially Josh!

After reading some reviews I called John Baethke & Son Plumbing.The plumber assigned to my project was Nathan. He was very professional, knowledgeable and detail-oriented. Chrissy from customer service was very responsive and friendly throughout the entire process.The job was completed sooner than anticipated and Im thrilled with the out come. They replaced my toilet, fixed the leak in my bathtub drain and installed a new vanity. I would use them again and highly recommend.

We’ve used this company several times and definitely don’t believe there is any scamming/swindling going on as mentioned in a few other reviews. They are just a bit more costly because the brand is “white glove service” rather than trying to be the most competitively priced. We call them when we have jobs that we can’t DIY or trust with a handyman. They are honest and always do a great job.

I called John Baethke and Son Plumbing after discovering a leak under my kitchen sink. They responded to me almost instantly and set up an appointment for me the very next day. Josh from their team came to our condo and could not have been more professional and helpful. Besides checking the kitchen sink, he also checked every water point in our condo and gave us a status update on everything. Josh gave us a few options and walked us through cost and urgency of the problems. Josh was able to fix the kitchen sink and install a new garbage disposal as well fix a sink handle issue in one of our bathrooms. I highly recommend using John Baethke & Son Plumbing!

The customer is given a time when they can expect the service person to arrive and then given a call when they are on their way. Ron Page was great in addressing our challenging issue with multiple clogged pipes in our bathrooms. We live in a 100 yr old building so plumbing fixes can be a real challenge. He then explained exactly what he was going to do to determine the cause of our problem and how much it would cost and made sure we understood before he started. During the process He discovered a problem we didnt know about that was the citys responsibility. He and his colleagues coordinated with the city for an inspector to come out. Regardless of the outcome of the inspection, I would strongly recommend anyone with a sewer or plumbing problem to call Baethke & Son. I especially appreciated the documentation explaining the work done, cost and the warranty. Very professional.

Our tech, Vanessa, came out to rod the sewer line and remove tree roots. Unfortunately the roots are so bad another method has to be used on a different day. But Vanessa was thorough and tried several approaches before she had to stop. I appreciate that she offered options every step of the way, as well as her professionalism and friendliness. She also diagnosed a problem with the toilet and got it resolved quickly. Even though were going to need follow-up work, we are still very happy with this service technician.

Josh H., the serviceman from John Baethke & Son Plumbing who came out to repair a gas leak in our furnace, was a consummate professional. First, he performed a thorough investigation of the premises, assessing not just the furnace area but the piping throughout the condo, the water heater, etc. (I had mentioned that we are attempting to sell the place). He then presented me with a clear plan with several options and price points, and allowed me to choose the one that fit. The new valves and connections he applied to the leaking pipes appear very sturdy indeed, and he ran a pressure test which confirmed that the pipes no longer leak. Finally, he prepared a detailed report of his work. He answered all my questions and was forthcoming with helpful tips. As represented by Josh H., John Baethke & Son Plumbing does very good quality work and is a contractor I would recommend to anyone.
