We know that HVAC systems are only as good as the performance record of the company which led us to choose a Trane product. It is equally true that a system is only as good as the installation. This company is beyond excellent! This is the fourth time that we have dealt with them & we find them to be professional, knowledgeable, reasonably priced but above all, HONEST, a trait you don’t get these days as there are those out there who will either sabotage your system, Unit whatever to drum up business or, tell you that there are bogus issues so that they can get more money out of you. Jason Waters who was the tech who came out today was a great representative of this company. He was meticulous, efficient, professional & detailed in his approach to the problem. It was close to the end of the day right before the winter snowstorm, was about to hit the northern virginia area, and I find myself with no heat. I called on service specialties inc to help me with my hVAC needs. the gentleman was already out on emergency calls and still arrived to my home within 45 minutes to take care of my issue. My technician was Ali. I am very thankful for Alis skills and Tech Support. Able to get my furnace up and running so that my family can be warm through the winter storm. I highly recommend service specialties for all plumbing and hvac needs. I will continue to use service specialties and recommend them to my friends and family. It is hard this day and age to find a reputable company that is honest and hard working. I found out that ssi goes above and beyond that for the best experience I have ever had. WOW! Just had a great experience. SSI Tech (Jason) serviced my systems and he was fantastic. I did ask him to watch him work on one of my system and not only did he perform an incredibly thorough job, he explained what he was doing as he performed it and what he was looking for. This is one of the best experiences I have had with any service provider period. Some HVAC companies have catchy slogans, but SSI just has exceptional technicans. Thanks for the awesome customer experience.

When my AC suddenly stopped working, Service Specialties was able to set up a diagnostic appointment the same day. The technician, Parker, was able to diagnose the problem quickly, and ordered a replacement part from the manufacturer. When the manufacturer sent a damaged replacement part (twice!), the team at Service Specialties were on it---and worked hard to find and retrieve an undamaged replacement part, so that my system could get repaired before going out of town. Im grateful for the effort they put in as a team to help get my AC back up and running. Their service rep Paula was empathic and responsive, and the repair technician Eddie was professional and diligent. Would definitely recommend and use them again!

I had a great experience with SSI for a full HVAC replacement, from quote through installation. SSI gave me an offer for a heat pump with furnace backup that was lower than other vendors, gave me multiple options, and worked with me to answer my questions to make sure I was comfortable with the system I selected. Michael did a terrific job of installing a quiet valve for our sump pump and did some additional work installing rubber connectors where the sump pump PVC pipes bisected some I-joists. Without those rubber connectors, the I-joists were acting as tuning forks for the noise of the sump pump and vibrations that travelled through the PVC pipe. With the quiet valve and connectors installed, the noise of the sump pump was greatly reduced. The noise had been transmitting right into our family room. Now there is only a quiet hum with no knock from the valve closing at the end of the five or six cycles we experience each day. Very nice job done by Michael. He also flushed our heat pump water heater and had some advice about relocating the expansion tank that our builder inconveniently installed right on top of the water heater making it difficult to service the heat pump element of the water heater should that ever need to be done.

I have been a long time SSI customer (14+ years) and have come to expect quality support from SSI due to the continued caliber of support received to-date. So I was very pleased with the professionalism, quality, and the level of detail Jason Waters provided on todays service. I understand he is relatively new to the SSI team... so kudos to HR for hiring Jason. Frankly, it is individuals like Jason Waters (including Drew, Chris, etc...) which have kept, and will keep me using SSI for all HVAC services.I would be amiss if I did not include SSI reception, and supporting staff (Marsha, etc...). They are also very professional, courteous, responsive, and a pleasure to work with.Many business speak and advertise quality, but often fall short. However, SSI lives it by consistently providing high quality support by highly trained professionals.

Service Specialties Inc. (SSI) was great to work with and the install team did a really good job installing two new complete hvac systems in my home. They had one tech installing the furnace and A-coil in my lower level, a team of two doing the same in my attic, and another tech removing and installing two compressors in my rear yard. All well coordinated. They answered all my questions, and cleaned up everything inside and out. At the end of the day, we had two new andquiet systems fully operational. I would recommend SSI to anyone looking to replace their old ac and furnace hvac systems.

Fantastic experience with this company today, wish I could give them six stars.AC went out during the recent heat wave due to an issue with the units control board. We called Service Specialties after dealing with another company who was helpful but ultimately ineffective due to lack of knowledge on newer systems. After calling service Specialties and giving them the background, they were immediately able to detail in a technical but understandable manner what the issue was, why it occured, and what the fix was.Service Specialties offered a pleasant experience and acted with urgency and ownership of our issue all the way through the process. The front office was exceptionally polite and helpful, the technicians were superbly knowledgeable, and every single contact acted with professionalism. They were able to get our unit going again within 3 hours of our first call.HVAC repair is not something you want to have to deal with, but Service Specialties will be the first and only company I deal with going forward.

Chris, the SSI representative who made the initial contact spent a great amout of time in our home explaining in detail what to expect the project to entail. It took me a couple months to write this review due to the needs of my special needs baby and medical emergencies so my apologies for the lateness.I have worked with a lot of AC and Heating companies and these guys are as professional as they come. At the time of my dealings they were the best deal for the value. My home is about 20 years old when one of my AC units was not working and is beyond the worth of repairing. My second unit was on it last leg. I decided to bit the bullet and replace both AC units and heading units for my home. I reached out to 10 companies (small businesses and large). Only three companies was able to respond immediately (ACE, SSI and McCrea). After about 5 days other companies responded and some did not respond at all. Thinking about the needs for my special needs baby and wanting to replace the units ASAP its not good for companies to delay in responding. None of the companies works over the weekends but I worked with the companies that took the time to respond to my weekend emails not that it was a requirement but it showed that they wanted my business. Of the 6 companies I reviewed for quotes SSI was the best value for the buck after comparing models and visiting the respecting companies website for specifications. My consultant Chris was a real down to earth guy and conversations was very pleasant. Chris gave me good tips on the workings of the AC and heating units I had currently in my home and options to consider when buying/replacement units. He also did not assume he would get the contract to replace the units. But still offered tips on what to look for if I decided to use another company and make sure they do this or that when replacing the unit. I thought that was nice he freely offered those tips. Keep in mind I have AC-heating, and electrical degree background. I never revealed that detail up until this posting. Both McCrea and SSI was my last two options but SSI was the best value by far over the two businesses for my case.About the install:The time for the installation of both AC units and both furnaces took one day. SSI was very good in covering work areas over carpeted and hardwood areas. Trash and removal of units was clean and no damages to walls etc. The SSI team consisted of two 2-man teams Brandon, Dan, Reid, and Eric. All of these guys was cool to chat with and was very professional and had no issue with me hovering over them and asking questions. Keep in mind I have an AC/heating, and electrical trade background from years back and this was not revealed to them. They were very friendly in responding to all my questions and said they did not mind at all me asking and hovering around. The work done on the units was one of the best I have seen as far as neatest and installation. They made sure all connections were secure from the ducts, pipes, electrical, neat and tired up. Nothing loose or out of place. I took some pics to post of the units installed but I am unable to post them here. I had also mention this a few times to the guys during the installation process and to Chris about the excellent workmanship. Know this that you might find a company that is cheap to perform the installation and/or units but if your installation is not good you will pay out of your pocket in the long run for a bad installation. That said I lucked out for the best value for the buck and a perfect installation. No issues so far since the installation completed a couple months ago.Look at the attached pics for both the AC and Heating units. Well placed and neat. Nothing in the way even when they had to reroute my humidifier. Excellent work!Inspection:Inspector came and reviewed the installation and asked me who did the installation? Really he did so I said SSI. He said these guys did an excellent job at the installation.Will I recommend these guys to anyone else? You bet I will!!!!!Great job guys!!

He didn’t just fix it—he called us **while en route**, and walked us through a very easy step-by-step process that solved the issue.So he (1) solved the problem, (2) educated us on how to do some easy self-maintenance in the future, and (3) did it all *fast* over the phone, which saved us from waiting for him to drive here and roasting in the heat.Our thermostat is now happy, and we know a bit more about how it works as a bonus! The woman on the phone (Jessica?) was so friendly and talked about how they have been a multigenerational family business for over 40 years.The rep (Bacon) who came to our house was also very friendly, punctual, and very informative. Their quote was comparable to the others we received, but they also offered unbeatable financing.The guys that came to install the units were also punctual, friendly, and took great care to protect our floors by wearing booties, and by placing drop cloths from the front door leading to each unit, leaving no mess behind whatsoever. He’s extremely detailed and explains any issues/needed repairs and in addition, we discussed a future plan of attack to maximize the life of the unit!On top of being the best tech for regularly scheduled maintenance-Clint also spent 90 minutes on the phone with me(on a weekend) diagnosing and ultimately fixing an issue with my unit when it was not heating the home. SSI replaced my attic HVAC and did a great job. I had a pretty old unit with poorly designed ductwork, and they took the time to rebuild all of it and complete the install in a reasonable amount of time. It was 94 degrees the day of the install, but they didnt complain too much about it. They just did their job, and my new HVAC system is working great. I have no real complaints, and will definitely go back to them for future maintenance/replacement.

I figured out that the 20 year old water heater was leaking. Called SSI around 3PM. Was told that technicians were on the way around 3:30. They arrived shortly after 4PM. Heater fully replaced and operational before 6PM. Total cost was a bit stomach turning, though I have no idea how it would have compared to other companies. Technicians were friendly, professional, quick. Happy with the service.Used them again 8/23/2023 fir a leaking shutoff valve. Plumber has friendly and nicely pointed out a leak I was unaware of. All fixed quickly and professionally.

HVAC Replacement and Upgrade: I was diagnosed with some health issues that may have been influenced by the air quality in my HVAC system. SSI has always come through with inspections, repairs and suggestions. Technician Clint Boyd came the day after my call for service. He replaced the air scrubber and installed an air purifier and ensured the humidifier was working properly and gave suggestions for follow-up with vent cleaning and professional air quality inspection to ensure the changes are doing the job! Am impressed!

We have been happy customers of SSI for decades. This company exemplifies professionalism and customer service. We have gotten to know the technicians personally over the years and have always found them to be knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Today - Christmas Day during a brutal cold snap - deserves special mention. Woke up this morning to a chilly house and a dark thermostat. No heat! Yikes! Reset all the HVAC breakers ... *crickets*. Called SSI expecting a recording saying they were closed for the holiday. To my surprise the call was answered and a couple hours later Andrew called us back. Andrew spent more than an hour on the phone with me to diagnose the problem and find a workaround to ensure we had heat. Not only did he help get the heat back on, but he saved us a $400 holiday callout expense. Seriously, how many HVAC companies would do this? This is what customer service is all about. When have recommended SSI to friends and family and their experience mirrors our own. I would rate SSI as 100 out of 5 stars. And a special thanks to Andrew today!
