    I highly, highly recommend Mike from McDonald Electric! I needed to have someone flip my outside electrical outlet for a plug-n-play hot tub. He was able to make it out the very next morning after I contacted him (the day after Christmas, too!), at 7:30am sharp. He was very friendly, courteous, professional and got the job done quickly. He ending up having to cut the original outlet cover box in order to fit the plug properly, and he checked with me first, and then got it done in no time! He was gone by 8am, and when it came time to pay, he said it was a Christmas present! Ive never had such a amazingly kind interaction. I will forever be grateful to Mike, and I will only go to McDonald Electric from now on for any of my electric needs. Seriously, in such a weird time in our world, it is really extraordinary to have these kind of experiences, and honestly it changed my outlook for the day. I cant thank you enough, Mike!

    After some bad experiences with previous electricians, I took my time researching and decided to go with McDonald Electric. Mike responded promptly and requested photos of the project (my electrical box) to assess the job and plan ahead.     Mike of McDonald Electric is a true blue tradesman. I called about a partial power outage in my home & he scheduled me for the next morning after giving me advice on how to proceed until he could make it out. He showed up bright & early the next morning & diagnosed my problem in less than 10 minutes. Mike gave me a full game plan on how to get the problem resolved through the utility company and didnā€™t charge me a penny. Wouldnā€™t even take a tip for gas.     We are extremely grateful to have found an electrician we can trust. Mike knows what he is doing, does not take shortcuts, is super personable, and generous with his knowledge.     My wife contacted McDonald Electric due to an issue with our main electrical breaker, and Im so glad she did.Mike diagnosed the issue and within two days had replaced our old panel with a new panel, including a new main and all updated breakers.Mike is conscientious and thorough in his approach to his work, and definitely provides a quality product and experience for the customer.     Excellent Service!! I called McDonald electric after business hours yesterday to see if someone could check out a faulty circuit in our 1970s era home. We know we have aluminum wiring and were worried we had a significant problem on our hands. Mike contacted me the same night to arrange a visit today. He listened to us about the problems we were experiencing and got to work. Within a very short amount of time he diagnosed both a burnt-out breaker and bad lightbulbs that were causing the trouble. Mikes thoroughness and experience saved us a lot of trouble and time. He also identified a maintenance project well be working with him to tackle in the future.

    Mike was super helpful - he came to fix our electric dryer wiring issue, and he did it efficiently and was great at explaining exactly what was wrong with the wiring. Im sure well be hiring him next time we need help with electrical issues.Update: We hired Mike again to fix problems with our electrical panel, and once again he was excellent. He is efficient, timely, and great at explaining what he is doing. We feel much more comfortable with our wiring now that he has worked on it and fixed the problematic issues.

    After a recent early and heavy snow storm my electrical service box riser was pulled off my house wall and dislodged from the service box. This was caused by the weight of snow on a branch resting on the wire from the transformer on the utility pole. Mike was here quickly after I sent him a picture of the problem. Given how serious the problem was, he decided to quickly address it. He trimmed the tree branch and then properly and much more securely repositioned and attached the riser. He then disconnected and more properly reattached all the electrical connections. He did a far more professional and proper job than the original electrician. He was a great guy to work with as he clearly explained the problems. I would highly recommend him and plan on using him for any future work.

    I was so impressed with Mike today. I called him this morning at 7 and he said he could be by at 9 (he even came a little early!)     I was without power in the back of my house as of Saturday night, reached out on Sunday afternoon, and Mike not only contacted me asap to set up a consultation on Monday, he fit me in for a same day repair and made sure I had power restored. Also, he probably saved my life because I had burnt wires inside my breaker box! Before picture is of my fried wires and the other is his beautiful workmanship. He also cleaned the wires up and made them so they are neat and secure. 1,000,000% would recommend and will definitely call upon McDonald Electric for any future needs!

    We had a major problem with the power in our house when running any sort of appliance on a power outlet. We called McDonald Electric and Mike was at our house diagnosing the problem within an hour.     We had some issues with GFI outlets in our bathrooms, Mike first tried to help troubleshoot over the phone, when that wasnt successful he came out and looked at our panel.. Problems there!     Had McDonald Electric come out yesterday to troubleshoot an open circuit problem I had. I have an older house with lots of add-ons done by the previous owners, combined with aluminum wiring and an old breaker panel. Mike spent about 4 hours working on my problem, taking apart many receptacles and light fixtures, a ceiling fan, opening an exterior stucco hole cleanly to reveal smashed wiring in a J-box within the wall then re-wiring everything cleanly to free up space, all issues that were contributing to my problem. This was a bear of a problem to troubleshoot but Mike never gave up and did eventually solve all the issues completely, as well as helping me tear down and reassemble everything. Im going to have McDonald Electric upgrade my old electrical panel also as a last step of future prevention for issues that could happen there. Their service was above and beyond, and the cost was very fair and affordable. I will definitely keep using McDonald Electric for any future electrical needs and I highly recommend them!     I reached out to McDonald Electric to help troubleshoot an issue I was having with a few outlets of a newly purchased home. Mike was very honest and helpful! First, he recommended that I work through the home warranty I had on the home (which I had forgotten about!), and then helped me troubleshoot the issue over the phone to hopefully save me a call to the warranty company. We were able to fix the issue in a few minutes! I appreciate that Mike took the time to help me even though he certainly did not need to.     My husband and I are elderly and live in a house that is even more elderly than we are. The house was built in 1941 before the war. In 2003, before we moved in, we had a major renovation done which included a new breaker box and some new wiring. In 2013, we added an addition and a second breaker box was connected to the old.For a while, Iā€™ve been making a list of minor electrical issues that needed to eventually be addressed. They were mostly related to our ceiling fans with lights and the remote controls that werenā€™t working. The list finally got long enough that we decided we needed to bring in an electrician, but we didnā€™t know who to call. We frequently pass by McDonald Electric on Washington, so we called on a Friday and Mike came out the following Monday.In no time at all, Mike took care of everything on my list including the ceiling fans. When he finished, he came and said he was a little concerned about some power readings he was getting from one of the fans in the old part of the house and wanted to look further into that ā€“ and what he found was very disturbing. He showed us that on the electrical panel some of the connecting wires were scorched (probably from a power surge) and recommended that the panel be replaced, which of course was fine with us. He came out the very next day and when he replaced the panel, he found that not only were the wires scorched but, on the back side of the panel, there had been some melting.We are very grateful that Mike went the extra mile to be sure we were safe. It is scary to think how close we might have been to having a fire in our home. We highly recommend McDonald Electric without hesitation and appreciate Mikeā€™s concern about our safety.

    I had two electricians flake on me. One simply didnt return calls. The other gave me what I thought was a high estimate, but never called to schedule service and never responded to my texts.     WOW!!! I honestly cant say enough good about McDonald Electric.Mike is a great electrician and a wonderful person. When I first called him for a minor job, he set up a time to come over withing the next 48 hours. He came out to install an outdoor outlet, and he discovered a very big problem with my electrical panel. The problem was serious and posed danger. Mike alerted me to the dangers, and then offered to clear his morning and fix it asap. He was so kind and he gave me the best price he could, and he even threw in a security light. He clearly takes pride in his work and wants to make his customers happy. He offered a 10 year guarantee which brings me a great deal of comfort considering the panel he had to replace was only 1 year old.     Mike at McDonald Electric gets 5 stars PLUS for quickly diagnosing my electrical problem. Problems started with a wind storm which knocked out my power. The nightmare began when the lights came back and were flashing on and off in some rooms but not all. I called Mike for an appointment and he called me back to discuss the issue, which he correctly stated was the electric companys problem with one leg of the 120v having a bad connection.     Extremely grateful we worked with McDonald Electric! Initially we called for an electrical outlet repair (fixed easily and quickly), and fortunately during the repair it was discovered that our electric panel was badly damaged due to faulty and outdated wiring. We hadnt been aware of the issue because it was hidden behind a panel within the box we hadnt thought to remove. Without knowing it, we were at risk for an electrical fire. McDonald Electric quickly assessed the problem, took the time to explain what the issue was and why it was happening, and offered to come back the following morning to repair it right away.     Two of our bedrooms were without power. We called McDonald Electric. Mike was very timely in getting to our house. He was friendly, professional, and worked very hard the whole time he was here. Apparently, we had an arc fault in one of the outlets. He was diligent in searching for the arc fault, going up and down our stairs between the outlets in each bedroom and the circuit panel downstairs. He found it and we had power in about an hour. His price was very reasonable. We will be using Mike for any future electrical needs. He is honest and very skilled.

He has, on more than one occasion, arrived to my house to find simply a tripped switch.     I called about a few outlets that werent working and Michael quickly found the problem was a badly set up panel that already had several burned wires and probably would have caused all sorts of problems if it hadnt been fixed. He had both the outlets and the panel replaced and repaired by the next morning and even helped install a new switch for a non-functioning timer controlling some exterior lights. Excellent service and very prompt, I will definitely be calling them again if I need any more electrical repairs.
