    Al Houghtaling was awesome. Did a full rough-in for me in an apartment I am renovating in downtown Albany. Responded to my request extremely quickly. Provided a very fair quote. Began work within a couple of days. Completed the work in 2 days and kept in contact with me providing updates and asking questions. He and his crew are very personable and knowledgeable and will 100% contact him again if the need arises. I highly recommend Al Houghtaling for any of your electrical needs.

    Al is a great electrician. His prices are fair and he does fantastic work. Al and his team get it right the first time. They put in two service entrances for me, One at my current house, and one at my previous. He swapping out two main panels and putting in 200 amp updated services. I have recommended him to Friends and they love him! Most of Al‘s business is word-of-mouth. He is a man of his word, and will back up his work. I have no problems recommending Al to anyone.     My company does high end rehabilitation and specialty work for Albanys single family dwellings built in the 1700 and 1800 construction expansion period. In my 50 years of general construction experience I found that only one thing really matters. The team that supports you needs to be among the best in their fields.     Very knowledgeable and professional. He listened to what we wanted and gave options to get the results we wanted while staying in budget.     I have used Houghtaling  Electrical for several jobs, both commercial and residential. The owner, Al Hougtalings attention to detail is unsurpassed. He is extremely professional and takes ownership for every detail on every job that he does. Its clear that Al impresses his values on his staff and trains them to hold the same high standard. I have no doubt that if you use Houghtaling Electrical your expectations will be surpassed. I simply dont think its possible for the man to do a job thats not outstanding. Good enough is not in his vocabulary. If you want the best electrician in the Albany area and maybe New York State call on Houghtaling Electrical you will not be disappointed.

    Houghtaling Electrical has been my go-to electrician through many years and projects. The owner Al is personally involved in every detail of the project. Al is very knowledgeable about required code compliance, best practices, and dealing with National Grid. He is customer service oriented, owns his work from start to finish.     I have had Al to my house to rewire a bedroom in my rear apartment of my house, he upgraded the two circuit panels in my basement(one for my part of the house, the other for my rear apt. tenant), and installed a replacement motion sensor flood light on the side of the house. Hes a true professional and does what he says. Highest quality work and fair prices. I have a laundry list of projects I need to talk with him about. I trust him totally.

    AL IS A CONSUMMATE PROFESSIONAL. He rewired my entire 200 year old house. He’s always responsive and cares about doing the best job possible. He anticipated that i might have squirrel issues and used the proper wiring. He’s not only the best electrician in the Capital district but the one who shows up and is the fairest.

    Al and his team were across the street fixing my neighbors service line. I asked him if he could take a look at mine as it was lying on the ground after the ice storm.     What can I say, working in the hospitality industry I have had the pleasure in working with Houghtaling electric numerous times and the service has been fenomenal, Al the owner takes ownership and oversees all aspects of the projects . He has become a long time friend helping me in multiple Hilton properties in the capital region. The biggest thank you was 2015 black out at the albany airport where I called AL himself because we had a power outage and needed a master electrician to handle the huge generator we had in the hotel ! He came and stayed till power was restored ! Great local owned business and great hospitable service thank you AL and Houghtaling electric

    Al and his crew are the absolute best. They show up, do the work and don’t mind questions. Houghtaling helped me with a new panal to prepare for heat pumps financed through NYSERDA. They were understanding about schedules and worked in tandem with the company who installed the heat pumps.I’ve had them back again to help with an electric cooktop that I needed replaced and they were honest enough to fix the old one even though it saved me $$.Can’t recommend enough.

    We called Houghtaling Electric on Saturday and they were able to come the next day on Sunday. We had 2 troublesome outlets that it took some time to identify and fix. We are very grateful that they could do this as the outlets were a danger and couldn’t be used. Both men were friendly and professional. When they couldn’t get here at 1:00 as expected, Marty called to let us know and we okayed a later time. Very pleasant to work with!

    There are no words adequate enough to describe how great Hotaling Electrical treated my family and I. Not only are they dependable and do outstanding, prompt work, they helped my 92 year old mother when she suffered a power surge at her residence. They answered on the first ring, helped us after hours, calmed us down and took care of the problem immediately. It may seem a bit dramatic but when they were right there to correct what was a worrisome and scary situation caused by someone else, my mother renamed them The Electrical Angels. I agree with Mom.     I have used Houghtaling Electric for approx 20 years. Al & his employees have completed a number of projects for me at my own home ~ installing multiple ceiling fans, exterior lighting, automatic timer for a pool filter, fabulous interior lighting in what was formerly a dark garage, installing many lighting fixtures even including some antique. He & his employees are timely, very neat and extremely knowledgeable, responsive & thorough. His prices are very reasonable.
