I chose this company because of a Google review with photo and it is through this lens I see to do the same.Ethan, Electrician came with his Tech Brittney and gave two estimates. One with external wiring, one with internal wiring.I chose external because I didnt want the ceiling tiles cut even tho they would replace them. I would notice the cutting so it wasnt the right option for me. Usually they do the work as soon as estimate is accepted but due to the time involved we had to reschedule. The office person worked with them to get me in asap as it was a surprise for my husband.Carlos, Electrician came with his Tech, Kevin. They were punctual and had all material needed to complete my job.This wasnt as straight forward as it seemed in the photo i posted as our home is over 100 years old with 10 foot ceilings and the kitchen where my mothers stained glass lamp will be installed has a drop ceiling. Dave, Service Manager came to check the job and helped his workers with the install. He even moved my wall phone jack over for me. Installed a light switch with dimmer, replaced my basement swith with light to an newer model red light. They all worked together as a team and were respectful of eachother and my property.Carlos had me come out and inspect what he was doing, step by step, asking if I was happy. At one point we changed the install to a better esthetically pleasing look than what was planned. It was installed over our table where I wanted it but the furring strips dictated where it could be hung safely, I get that and agree.By trade I am a Secret Shopper but was not paid for this review. This install was for my personal dwelling.I highly recommend this establishment for its reliability, expertise and insight details. I couldnt be more pleased and thankful.

Gary and the other eletican that came out to our home were both very professional and knowledgeable. They took care of our problem efficiently, and cleaned up as they went along. Most notably is they put plastic covers on their shoes. Great Job! 5 stars.

The operator was able to immediately pull up my several quotes based on my phone number which was very efficient. I liked how both Daves and Justin worked together as a team. The concrete that had to be trenched was nearly 12 thick but they stuck to their original estimate.

Exceptional. Both Carlos and Linn (?Spelling), were surprisingly diplomatic, clean, upfront and knowledgeable- explaining things as we went along. The best part was military recognition and free evaluation. Im carefully evaluating my pocket book to have things done- family marriages, newborns, and this season of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. I have his card and also weighing in joining the plan. At 74 years old, a world traveler with properties in Colorado, Nevada and New York I know professionalism. Carlos and Linn are the elite. Our very first experience with Mel Carr was AWESOME!! Electrician Gary Chafetz was friendly, knowledgeable and patient. He fixed ALL the crazy electrical troubles we were recently having. I’m so happy I could do cartwheels!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!2nd experience w/ Mel Carr: Gary Chafetz and his apprentice, Glen, were at our house today doing a lengthy electrical project. Once again, I cannot say enough wonderful things about this company!! They (Sean in our case) even take the time to call after a job to check and make sure we’re completely satisfied. Phenomenal job from scheduling, confirmation, the work itself, and the follow-up. It was worth the price! They were able to come fix a melting and smoking outlet the day after I called. They also explained who I could contact to address the issue sooner if I was concerned of a fire.Throughout the whole process, the company was very communicative, responsive, honest, direct, respectful, and informative. They even share some information about the technician (including a photo) before you meet them in person. The two men named Dave who came out were awesome! They were so nice and very tidy.I recommend Mel Carr Electrics services and I will certainly call them back when I need more electrical work done.

I had let a lot of electrical problems build up over the years and Justin fixed all of them. He moved washer and dryer outlets, put fantastic lighting in my walk in closet, replaced outdoor outlets that didnt work, installed 2 new light fixtures in my office and 4 new fixtures in my multi task room. He did it all with good humor and friendliness. I feel so happy with everything he did. As for the company I am so glad they sent Justin out so quickly and everyone I talked to including the general manager who came to check on the progress of the work were so friendly and knowledgeable. What a great experience especially since I chose them blindly off the internet. It was a great choice.

Zach did a great job updating the ceiling for new lights in my basement. He removed old fluorescent lights and wiring to replace with LEDs, rewired wall switches for better control of lit areas from the stairs, and tested all outlets for safety. He and his assistant added motion-activated lights in utility rooms and installed a whole house smoke and CO alarm system. They both answered all my questions and swept the entire area when they were finished. Excellent service!

Mel Carr Electric went out of their way for me and my family and provided A++ service all around. Dispatch, the manager and service manager were all very nice, understanding and professional. I had a very stressful experience with another contractor that was hired through my employer to install a new service panel and EV vehicle charger at my house. The contractor made some mistakes and my lights were left flickering throughout my house and I had 240 volts at my outlets that should have 120 volts. I was unable to reach the other contractor until the following day. I found and addressed the primary problem myself. A wire was pulled out of a wire nut and I lost the neutral to some of my circuits. They eventually came back to check their work but my gut told me there were other problems. Mel Carr was very busy on a friday afternoon and actually dispatched their service manager who is also a Master Licensed electrician. I witnessed him find several additional loose connections, provide an hands on inspection of the other contractors work to check for problems and ensure I didn’t encounter any other issues. They arrived very quickly and the billing portion was very smooth. All communication was excellent. Text updates, email updates and invoicing was very fast. My worries and stress were instantly relieved and I was able to enter the weekend without worry of my family sleeping in a house with a poorly installed electrical panel from the other contractor. My brother has also had several excellent experienced with Mel Carr. Thanks again to Dave the electrician and the rest of staff at Mel Carr.

We had a terrific experience with Carlos Rivera. From the initial consult visit through the completion of the two day project, he was thorough, efficient, patient and personable. We had many items that needed to be addressed after years of putting them off - bathroom fan replacement/proper venting, ceiling fixture replacement, adding a whole home surge protector and a dedicated circuit for exercise equipment, replacement of a rotting lamp post, and a complete circuit restoration of our outdoor/garage outlets which have been virtually useless since we moved in.During Carloss first meeting with us, he took time to discuss our needs and concerns. It was mid-afternoon on a Friday, and he stayed for quite some time without making us feel rushed. He even checked out a noisy bathroom fan, changed the bulb in it, and gave us recommendations on specs/brands of quieter fans for the other bathrooms. Carlos answered all of our questions and then worked up a proposal/estimate - explained each item to us in detail, and made sure that we were happy with everything before we accepted the proposal and scheduled a time for him to return.Carlos promptly returned as promised, with his associate, Len. They told us how they planned to attack the list of issues over the next two days. Every time they entered the house, they put shoe covers on - we appreciated their efforts to keep things as clean as possible. They also were unfazed by our dog, who barked every time they came through the door. The temperature was in the mid-90s, but Carlos did the venting work in our attic for the fan exhausts and cleaned up all work areas as if he had never been there. Len worked in the heat to replace a rotting lamp post, which was a more difficult job than anticipated because the old post was fixed in concrete under the soil. Another associate, Justin, came halfway through the first day to help Len. Each of these gentlemen continued through the sweltering heat without complaint, and we were given periodic updates on their progress. Also, Carlos made sure that we were aware any time he was shutting off any breakers -- we appreciated this very much as working from home/wifi could be interrupted. On day two, Carlos and Len came back to finish the remaining items. Again, all work areas were kindly cleaned up before they left, and they took the resulting packaging/trash away. Carlos did a final walk-through and made sure to answer all questions.We are extremely happy with the service and professionalism of these Mel Carr technicians, and would give them more than 5 stars if we could! If you have electrical concerns, give Mel Carr a call - they provide free estimates.

I live in a Queen Ann Victorian style home built in 1892 and wanted a fan/light installed in our updated kitchen. I chose Mel Carr electric because they are a 2nd generation business with over 49 years experience and our 2nd time using them. The tech [ Justin ] was excellent. He needed to change out the old ceiling box for a new box that would support the fan/light in a ceiling that was 10 foot high with lathe and plaster. His focus on detail and damage to the ceiling was outstanding as I was left with only a little plastering where the old florescent light was and painting the ceiling.I highly recommend Mel Carr electric for any of your electrical needs.

They let you know by text when the tech is coming, send a photo and brief bio, and then the tech calls when en route with an ETA. We will only be using this electrician from now on!A week ago we had a blown fuse at the outlet due to the age of the materials used. Not only did Mel Carr Electric get us scheduled within a week, but when Gary showed up he was punctual and very professional.We had a few mercury switches and one exposed sconce light box from the previous owners of the house. Not only was Gary very helpful and answered all of the questions we had as new homeowners, but he offered to address and fix the things we were concerned about.The work was finished in about 2-3 hours and he gave us three different quotes which were all very reasonably priced. He truly went above and beyond. I really appreciated the fact that he wore boot covers and was very polite to my small dog. As usual, we had a very positive experience with Mel Carr Electric. The technician, Gary, was polite and professional. He performed the whole-house electrical check-up explaining what he was doing. I like to know what any tech is doing. He evaluated a flickering issue we had with our living room LED track light. He performed a couple of possible scenarios to see what might be the cause and he made changes that seemed to solve the problem. I couldnt be any happier with this tech and with this company. I dont usually do reviews but this company deserves to get my praise.

Second visit: This is our second time using Mel Carr Electric. We needed a new ballast and lights installed in our basement. Gary provided a estimate a few estimates/options on the first visit. He arrived on time and got right to work. Very professional and friendly.We will have them come back to install lighting fixtures in our garage.First visit: A breaker was tripped cutting off power to two sections in the living room and sunroom. The technician, Gary arrived on time and quickly tested the breaker box and was able to get the power back on in minutes. He informed us of the possible item that triggered the breaker to trip. We also asked Gary for a quote on replacing the ballast in the basement. He gave us several options with quotes, and answered our questions. We will schedule an appointment for Gary to return to do the work next week.It was a pleasure to do business with Mel Carr Electric. Gary was helpful, informative and professional.

This is a reputable company with a solid reputation. I like their business model. Mel Carrs approach to problem solving and customer service is appreciated. Replacing a panel and restoring power is a tedious and complicated job. The team of Zach and Carlos worked tirelessly until the job was finished at 8PM to make sure power to the furnace was restored for a very frigid February evening. Its been a while since Ive been very confident in a home repair contractor. Good job! Two thumbs up for sure!
