They worked efficiently to put together a solution, ensuring my parents had heat when we needed it most. Their professionalism, expertise, and kindness were unmatched. I can’t recommend them enough – they’re the ones you can count on in a pinch. Five stars!

I used Winters for the second time for my condo in Cambridge. This time around, I was installing a new kitchen faucet and a new bathroom vanity. Matthew King was fantastic. Super helpful in dealing with a tricky vanity install. Work was well done, and he was able to complete the work in a timely way to accommodate my schedule. Communication by the ops desk is excellent. I wish I could give Winters Home Services six stars! I’ve been a homeowner for 16 years, and a landlord for five, and I’ve never experienced more attentive, competent plumbing service before in my life.I’m a remote landlord, living on the West Coast. My tenant in Massachusetts contacted me Wednesday afternoon to let me know that the hot water tank was leaking and flooding our shared basement. My usual plumber couldn’t make it out until Friday.Initially, the only reason I went with Winter’s Home Services was that they had good reviews and said could send someone out that afternoon. True to their word, Winter’s had one of their plumbers, Sean Clancy, at the property in a couple of hours—impressive on such short notice.Sean cleared the tank and stopped the leak right away, the called me to discuss options for replacing the tank. Sean answered all my questions patiently, professionally and clearly, and we agreed on an estimate within an hour of his arrival.The equipment supplier was closed by then, otherwise he would have had a new water heating system installed that evening. But Sean showed up promptly at eight the next morning, as agreed, to install a new tankless water heater and an upgraded, code-compliant gas exhaust system. The estimate even included twice-yearly maintenance for the next three years!In less than a day, Winter’s Home Services and Sean Clancy turned what started as a disaster into just one night without hot water. The service was attentive and extremely competent, with proactive, clear communication throughout the entire experience. My tenants and I could not be happier with the results.I will be working with Winter’s Home Services from now on, not only for my plumbing, but also HVAC. An old boiler went in our home. I have two boilers so it was only a matter of time for the second one. Called Winters and had someone at my house two days later. Zane was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We discussed going with one large boiler with two zones (my wife and I own a two-family that has been utilized as a single family for last forty years). Ultimately, we opted to replace both boilers. Brian and crew were there the next day, tearing out the old and scrapping it, and unloading, transporting, and installing everything over the next three days. Meticulous work. I worked in the Building Trades for 50-years and I recognize and appreciate craftsmanship. My wife and I couldn’t be happier with the smoothness of the entire experience from first phone call to final installation. The crazy part of the story is we have utilized a plumbing company for 30 years. I called him when the boiler went and he told me he retired two weeks earlier. Thanks to Winters entire team, we now know where to turn for all our heating/plumbing/cooling needs.

Working with Winters was incredible. I was able to talk to a person and not just leave a message. The amount of email contact and diligence was extraordinary and help me feel very secure. Lucas, who came to our house, was not only professional, but extremely kind as we were managing, at the same time, multiple issues in the house. I was having a serious find the leak problem and found Winters on the web. First, a real person answered the phone. And then, a terrific young man appeared right on schedule within 24 hours of my call, and he went through all my water-related machines, but could find nothing wrong.Even gave the house a second gound with the same result. Suspecting that my meter fan faulty, he gave me a clear run-down of what I should tell my town water supplier. When I asked if he took Visa, he actually said: You dont owe me any money; I didnt fix anything. Now thats a group worth doing business with.

I have had a contract with Winters for a number of years, and have always been satisfied with their service. I have a boiler that heats my hot water heater as well as the house. They have always responded to any problem with my heating/cooling system.I came home from a trip to no hot water. When I called, they sent Vinney Holley first thing in the morning. He was able to get it working again, but it was obvious that there was a leak, and that the boiler needed replacing. (20 years old, pretty good for that particular boiler) Two days later a new boiler was delivered, and Brian Falasca and partner came to install it. It was a 2-day job, and the guys worked all day except for a lunch break. Because it was a different model from the previous boiler there was a lot of work. They also provided me with a temporary hot water heater overnight. The installation was finished the next day.When I noticed a couple of days later that the boiler was taking a long time to heat the hot water, I called and Brian came out the same day. It turned out that a part was defective. He fixed it and tested the system exhaustively to be sure that it was working properly. It’s been great ever since.

I hate writing reviews but honestly this company was so amazing I actually wanted to go out of my way to let others know! I had a mini disaster in a utility room and a water leak issue that took about a week to identify and resolve. Of course, it happened overnight and on a weekend and I was cold calling anyone who could get in! I was first impressed by real-time after hours answering service who were extremely pleasant and helpful. And then, they actually showed up first thing in the morning. They had to come back a few times but everything was really the way it should be! The plumber was communicative and amazing (yay Jamie!), responsive and ultimately was able to solve the challenging issue! The back office was great to work with; they all recommended supporting companies to help me with the remediation efforts and prices were reasonable considering the high caliber service. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Winters quoted to install a new A/C system. Within one week Brad arrived and was magnificent. Problems for him were merely interesting situations to be resolvedand resolved he did. He was like a magician climbing into impossibly small space to install air handlers in very high temperatures without a single complaint.He was a delight to have around and cleaned up every evening.I would happily employ him again.

It’s very hot in New England right now, and I really appreciate winters, squeezing us in for an appointment as quickly as possible. We had a wonderful service experience today with Anthony. Our air conditioner fan stopped working a few days ago, and afterlistening thoughtfully to our desire to keep cost down, Anthony tried the least expensive option first to repair the unit. Thankfully, it worked, but I really appreciate when a technician is proactive and understanding when you’re looking for a lower cost solution if possible. I’m really pleased with the service experience we had with winters!

Winters saved my life. My furnace was stolen out of my house while another company was installing a tankless water heater. I informed the company that the tech who installed my water heater had another guy come in and take away my furnace. Needless to say they never answered me, and waited over a year, until it was on the news, and other people reported them. Thank god Winters stepped in and installed a new furnace. I never would have needed one but needless to say it was 2 weeks before Christmas and they accomidated me, and more. I will not go with any other company. In fact the other guys keep trying to get me to go back, and why would I let criminals in my house again. Winters techs will answer all questions, and they dont beat around the bush. Very professional and easy to work with. They are the best.

March 2022 update;Winters saw my review and Mike came back to take a look at the radiator cover. He was able to jimmy the radiator cover back on without having to touch the new valve or controller. He explained that he had installed the valve controller at an angle to make it more accessible for future repairs, and pointed out that the cover had never fitted quite right before the valve replacement, although the angle had certainly made it worse. He gave me some suggestions for how to modify the sheet metal to fit better, without having to pay for a plumbers time to do that job. Overall Im satisfied -- I still wish it hadnt taken extra visits to fix issues but Im very impressed with their responsiveness.Feb. 2022 update:Im changing my rating to 3 stars now based on recent service calls. Our boiler is working well, and overall we are happy -- the folks at Winters are very responsive when we call; communication is great, and both the office and the technicians are respectful and professional. But weve had a couple of issues recently with their work. In December 2021 we paid $555 to replace a leaky air vent, but less than a month later it was leaking again and when another tech followed up, it became clear that no new part had actually been installed. That issue has been fixed now (at no additional charge) but a couple of weeks ago we found that one of the zone valves Winters replaced just a year and a half ago has failed already (the previous one lasted over 10 years), to the tune of another $743. The replacement was installed solidly but at a tilted angle so it no longer fits inside the metal sheathing around the radiator (photos attached). Overall everything seems to be working well now, for which we are very thankful. But it no longer feels like a 5-star experience.2020 review (5 stars):Zane wrote the estimate for the boiler and zone valve replacement project for our condo building. He was extremely responsive, answering all of my (many) followup questions over several phone calls. We got quotes from 5 different companies and Zane was the only one who pointed out that we had a lifetime warranty on our current stainless steel water tank so we did not need to replace that part of the system. He also carefully did the sizing calculation up front to determine that we could safely downsize from our previous system. Between these two items, he saved us thousands of dollars.Brad did the installation for us. He took great care with every detail, keeping me fully informed of the status as the project progressed. He cheerfully answered all of my questions, explaining what he was doing and why. The whole project took a bit longer than we had expected but it was well worth it -- nothing was done in a rush and I feel very confident in the quality of the installation. (I might have slowed him down with my questions but thanks to this, I was able to get a good understanding of the new system so we can keep it properly maintained.)All my interactions with the front office have been really positive as well. Everyone has been very courteous and they seem to be right on top of things. This is a huge factor for us since it removes any uncertainty about scheduling and billing. It seems to me that everyone weve interacted with at this company is in the loop and working together to make sure we are happy.From start to finish, we had an excellent experience with Winters on this project. Were looking forward to working with them to keep the new system maintained (and maybe do some A/C work for us as well).

First of all I had a major Central air issue on the hottest 3 days of the year! Winter home services responded right away and came out the same morning within 2 hours, all the rest of the companies I called had a 2 week wait and they fit me right in! Vincent came by today and went through everything with me and going above and beyond, he showed me the different perimeters and what the unit should run at. When it came down to my purchase for a new central air system he walked me thru different options and made an expensive decision comfortable and stress free. I’ll be recommending Winter home services to Al my friends and family could not have asked for an overall better experience!!!

We realized our basement floor is wet against wall edge after laundry so we called up Winters, thinking that part of the pipe under slab is leaky. Tevin came in quickly and opened up the slab while pointing to us that our old drainage pipe ubder slab is completely bottom less! Based on the situation in the basement, Tevin recommended a video cam inspection from our basement all the way to the city sewer, since the pipe system is over 90 years old. Turend out that we actually have a sewer emergency where the cast iron pipe in the front yard connecting to city sewer is completely collapsed due to root damage (and the camera cant go through). We were lucky to have called Tevin before things gets way worse! After realizing that this is a bigger (and more expensive) emergency than we had hoped for, Tevin gave us several options and we proceeded with the one with a proper fix with reasonable price. He marked the ground for digging spot and left. Second day early morning, two teams came in, one dugged 8 to replace the sewer pipe in the front yard, and the second team replaced the two drainage pipes under the basement slab and repoured the concrete. Everything was done efficiently in about 24hrs, and the crew even helped us fix the washer drain (to code) as they move through the job in the basement! We are very happy with the work Tevin and his crew did. Highly recommend especially if you needs something repaired properly and rapidly.

Over the last few days, we had a serious problem with a leaking water heater. We called Winter and Jamie was at our house within an hour and a half. He quickly diagnosed the problem, explained the situation to me and made a thorough list of all the components, fittings, piping etc to enable the installers to come early the next morning to install the new water heater. Brian and his associate, Artie did the removal of the old water heater and the complete installation of a filtration system, complex piping layout and new water heater. The job was a work of art and we had hot water by the afternoon. All of the winter guys were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, thorough and totally professional. Just a terrific experience dealing with them. They are my go to company for any HVAC or plumbing issue

Its obvious that they take pride in their work, and we feel lucky that they came out so fast when our AC went down during the recent heat wave. We called on a Tuesday night, another technician (Zane, also awesome) came Wednesday to diagnose the issues, then Brian and Arturo started the full replacement job Thursday and finished on Friday. I have had multiple great experiences with Winters. They just seem to attract good people. Somebody is doing something right in establishing and maintaining the culture at this company.

Updating this review, if I could give them 10 stars I would!!! When everything goes right its easy to succeed, when a tough problem arrives that when you show how good you really are.Installed a second gas fired forced hot air system about 1.5 years ago. Noticed this winter the system was not heating one floor right and seemed to be turning off before reaching temperature. The Winters crew came out repeatedly ASAP and were able to trace the problem to a faulty wiring harness on the furnace. We had a new born baby (2 weeks) in the house and everyone at Winters could not have been more accommodating and understanding. Every step was a pleasure working with them. True heroes of the holiday season.Have used Winters for clearing roots out of the main sewer pipe, install two direct fired gas water heaters, and a gas fired forced hot air system. This was all done in a two family about 120 years old. All the technicians were very knowledgeable, polite, explained all the options, and listened carefully to our needs and expectations. TL;DR I couldn’t be happier with Winters Home Services and my technician, Jamie Jones. Service: 10/10, communication: 10/10, follow through, 11/10.We had a carbon monoxide leak and National Grid shut our gas off to the whole house and told us we couldn’t get it back on without a fix and city inspection. I called multiple companies and private plumbers. Winters not only picked up the phone, but told me they would send someone right away. Jamie showed up at 7am the next morning and diagnosed the problem, explored creative options, and helped me get set up with Mass Save to expedite the heat loan to pay for the new system. Despite delays with Mass Save, Jamie stayed patient with me and blocked off upcoming days on his calendar to be sure he was free as soon as the loan came through. He worked straight through on the day the loan came in, getting a two day job done in one and arranged the city inspector to show up in order to get the stamp of approval.The prompt and polite dispatchers were great. My house might have actually been cleaner after the work was done. And working with Jamie was like having a good friend helping me out in a jam. I owe the guy several beers. Thank you Winters! Tevin was a very professional, knowledgeable, reliable, courteous, and friendly technician.I called Winters Home Svcs this morning and Tevin (Plumber) arrived within a half hour by 10:30AM the same day to fix a clogged/slow drain problem in my bathroom sink. I was impressed with his explanations of the problems, honest recommendations/solutions, and high level of expertise.In addition to the clogged/slow drain problem, I received a complimentary snake camera session of my main sewer pipeline ($475 value), which was very helpful in uncovering issues I wouldnt have known about otherwise which will help me plan for future potential sewer pipeline tree root-cutting and pipe liner replacement services to prevent potential blockage and sewer backups.I wouldnt hesitate to request Tevin for future plumbing services as this positive visit exceeded my expectations!

Zane was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. The appointment was easy to schedule - we called Wednesday afternoon and Zane came out first thing Thursday morning. He let me know when he was in his way and he arrived quickly. After examining our mini split AC unit, he quickly got it working again, explained to me in easy to understand terms how the unit worked and what the issue was, and the different options to fix the unit. He solved my problem quickly and at the best possible price. Even my dogs loved him! I cannot recommend Zane highly enough, he will be my first call going forward for any future AC issues, and I will recommend him to any friends and family who need their AC repaired.

Our water heater was very old and failed suddenly on a Friday night. We called Winters and they were able to come the next morning to replace it without issue. Chase who handled the replacement was extremely helpful and professional. We also used Winters to service our boiler which wasn’t running properly due to a lack of water pressure, and Vinny quickly diagnosed the issue and fixed it same day. We are definitely planning on using Winters for all HVAC and plumbing needs in the future

Amazing service! Lucas came out to fix our AC that stopped working over the summer. Instead of needing to buy a whole new unit, Lucas was able to prolong the life of our current unit so we can get a few more years out of it. Also I called very late at night and had an appointment made for the following day which was really huge considering it was very hot and I was very pregnant. 10/10 recommend Winter services and specifically Lucas!

Ive had positive experiences with Winters. Lucas, the service technician, was professional, prompt, communicated well, and technically adept with the issue, which in this case was straight forward: thermostat replacement and gas furnace annual maintenance. Note that Winters pricing is on the high side. Given this, I hesitate to call them when the need arises. However, once I do, Ive been happy with the results. Bottom line: good, prompt customer service and expertise come at a premium.

Zane Villandry helped secure the loan and installation for our 16 Seer Trane heat pump in 2021. The heat pump stopped working entirely in Nov 2022. Finally able to reach WHS in March 2023. Zane came out the next day and troubleshoot the issue to the installation that did not inject sufficient refrigerant. Fixed it without cost and schedule a follow up check in Aug.Brad finally came out in 2024 and after several tries determined it was a faulty valve. It was a tricky replacement, but he finally got it replaced and have the system up and running in June just before the heatwave. A/C is running great!

I was lucky -- Vincent was in the neighborhood and was at my door within 30 minutes of my calling the office for an appointment. Vincent (who has made service calls to my home previously) was his usual efficient and professional self.
