I needed the inside of my toilet tank replaced. It had been leaking. I called SM Shelby Mechanical LLC to come out.They sent one of their best plumbers.He did an outstanding job. He figured out what needed replacing. The toilet works PERFECT now. The price he quoted me from the beginning was the price I paid when he was finished.He even had to run to the plumbing store to get a handle that fit my odd shaped toilet tank. He also installed a new supply line. I will always ask for Marcus. Thank you so much for such a professional job! Marcus is also very customer friendly!

Shelby Mechanical did a great job of unclogging our toilet which had been backing up daily for over a week. They were able to come out the day I phoned. I had been wanting to change the toilet for a different one I had seen for sale at a store and hired them to install that also. Paul the technician finished the job neatly and quickly including getting rid of the toilet we replaced. We thought the price was very fair.

We had a sewer line inspection done. A reminder email was sent a couple days before and a text that tracked the tech before he arrived which also had his name and picture. Very organized and professional. The tech was Jason Ghent and he discussed the problem and said what steps he would do. He had booties on and the whole process was very clean. He showed me bright clear video of the pipe and put a new cap on the line. He answered several plumbing questions and was very helpful, far beyond expectations. It is a great company to do business with, I would recommend.

I had several estimates prior to Shelby Mechanical. Then Connor showed up. His knowledge of how to solve my sump/sewer back up problem was spot on. Just a few days later he showed up with himself, Marcus, Ryan and a backhoe. They went right to work and dug up almost 60 feet of my backyard and found the start and ending point of my clogged, disintegrating underground piping. They worked for hours and put it all back together while making sure the work was approved by the Township of Macomb. I would have no regrets whatsoever referring family and friends to Shelby Mechanical!

Called them on three different occasions, each time arrived the same day; on one occasion within one hour. Always very courteous and willing to listen. They installed a new toilet, and did a great job. Subsequently, we called them back when the toilet was flushing slow. They did several hours worth of work to the downstream plumbing and did not charge me a penny (they associated the work with the previous installation on their own). This prooved to me that they are honest and very willing to satisfy the customer. I am impressed, and recommend them to enyone.

They were fabulous! Professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and above all, honest. Special thanks to Connor who got the job done efficiently and quickly. He went above and beyond his standard duties by laying some much needed caulk around my tub which will give me time to find a contractor that will fix part-two of my bathtub leak dilemma. Connor even took a little time to acknowledge my special needs adult son, by looking at his space shuttle picture book which he created. This was very kind of him.So bottom-line....I have an outside water faucet that needs serious help. Im calling Shelby!Note:I got a 2nd opinion b4 picking Shelby, but they were $700 more than Shelby! For the life of me, I cant figure out why their fix cost so much more than Shelbys! The other companys fix inclued tearing out some drywall to get to the problem. It may or may not have been necessary. Only time will tell.

I want to express my gratitude to Shelby Mechanical for helping me through a very stressful episode. Following the resent 4 inches of snow followed by a day of nonstop rainfall, I woke up to a flooded basement. I contacted Shelby Mech. and they dispatched Paul Tabb who turned out to be such a blessing. He assessed the work and planned how to address the issue with my drains. Paul and Ryan provided work which was professional, skilled, and very efficient. They removed a lot of debris from my clogged drains, but cleaned up absolutely everything prior to leaving. They made me aware of the scope of the work, they gave me a cost projection which was very fair, and they kept their word. I couldn’t be happier with the work which was done by these two amazing young men. I highly recommend this company.

Shelby Mechanical is the best!! We had numerous plumbing issues when we moved into our house a year ago and they replaced bathroom sinks and hydro jetted our line after a previous company had come out to use a snake. The first day they said their snake wasn’t long enough came out a second day used a longer Snake and still weren’t able to fix it. They charged us for both visits. They Couldn’t get the job done told us we would have to tear down walls find the pipe and replace everything.. Shelby Mechanical came in, found that the line was full of grease and Hydro jetted it saving us a ton of money. They are a trustworthy and reputable company that I have recommended to family and friends! I will always use them!!

I’m finishing my basement and I needed underground plumbing installed for 3 piece bathroom. From the moment I spoke to the owner I felt very confident about having the work completed. When the tech came out to install the plumbing he and his assistant were wonderful! Very professional and all about taking care of business. Had a gas leak at grade coming out of our portion of the pipe off the meter. We were quoted by a few companies and chose Shelby Mechanical because of Connor S. He came out explained our options, was knowledgeable and very nice. We choose the option that was more involved and so glad we did. Connors expertise saved us future issues based on what was found when the whole pipe was dug out. He worked hard all day and cleaned everything up nicely. Everything looks nicer and is now safe. I didnt shop around since they had so many positive reviews, so I dont know how their prices compared to their competitions. However, I thought I paid what I was anticipating. First thing Monday morning, July 3, I was calling around to find a plumber who could come and repair the leak, and on my 3rd call I was lucky enough to connect with Shelby Mechanical. They had just received a cancellation and were able to send Jason and another young man he appeared to be training. Jason was friendly and polite, and clearly knew what had to be done to stop the water from gushing into the basement. I was SO grateful to have this taken care of before July 4th! I cant say enough good things about this company. I work at Redemption Stone Craft and I sent out a previous plumber two times to a customers home. He wasnt fixing the problem. My most recent service was to lower the toilet gasket due to a new floor and to repair a leak in my kitchen. Unfortunately, this happened over Easter weekend. Gabe reviewed the issues on Saturday, and arranged his schedule so they could repair everything on Tuesday. They also cleaned up everything, and made sure everything was working before they left! Have used their services several times and have never been disappointed. This time, we were alerted to a potential issue from another company doing another task in the house. We called Shelby Mechanical out to take a look. He could see what they were talking about but said that it shouldnt be an issue.He provided an estimate for work that could be done but we agreed that it would be fine and that performing unnecessary plumbing work could create other problems that dont currently exist. This is kind of the nature of plumbing issues.Ultimately, if he/they were dishonest, they could have recommended the work outright and fleeced me for anything else in the process of doing that work. Most people wouldnt know the difference so we hope that the people servicing our home are honest.Not only was he honest and forthright about the fact that the work wasnt necessary, he didnt charge me for the estimate or for the time at the house. If they continue to operate this way, they have a customer for life and one that will recommend them to family and friends. Many do come to me for recommendations on who to trust and who not to trust. This is a definite recommend.

Had put out a request to have a gas line and shutoff values replaced on my dyer as I just purchased a new one and wanted the line brought up to code. Shelby Mechanical was the first to contact me. I explained what I needed to their Representative. She explained they could handle that but would have to come out to give the quote (nice touch I might add). The date and time were set. They showed up within an hour of the time of 8 am to 12 pm. They introduced themselves, respectful of my house by wearing mask and shoe covers as to not track in snow or dirt. I escorted them to the area which needed to be attended to. I received my quote within 15 minutes or so. They explained what needed to be done. The quote was a tad higher than one I received from another company but I knew of SM from a previous company I had worked for and I knew their work could be trusted. Shelby Mechanical was extremely responsive and patient with all my questions. They came to my house to assess at no cost and I elected to hydrojet my sewer line to clear roots. Unfortunately it turned out there was a collapse in the line and due to the depth of the city main they could not offer a service to replace the line. In light of that, they charged only a small fraction of the hydrojet cost because they were not able to finish the work due to the broken pipe (completely outside of their control). I sincerely appreciate their openness, communication, and consideration. It cannot have cost them any less to come out and jet 60ft of my line than if they could have gone the whole 80ish ft but they still made accommodations for the circumstances. Had they been able to perform the repairs, I was told they would have credited some of my jet cost toward the pricier fix. Really high quality experience. I recommended them to my friend and she had a similar excellent experience. Pricing is fair but on the higher end. You definitely get what you pay for, though, and the service was top notch!

Shelby Mechanical is a great company to work with! We had major water coming in our basement along one wall. They came out immediately to assess our problem and gave us a quote based on what they could see. Justin was very knowledgeable, honest and upfront about our situation. We felt comfortable and confident with their company and didnt even seek out other quotes. Since they couldnt tell how bad the problem was until they opened up the basement floor, he gave us best and worst case scenario estimates. Best case would be if only one wall was involved, worse was if entire drainage system needed replacing. After opening up the floor they discovered the drainage system were made of clay pipe which had crumbled. Common sense is that eventually the rest of the old system would fail even if they just repaired along the one wall. We decided to have them replace the entire drainage system. The job took only five days. There was always a crew of two to four people working on it. They took precautions to minimize the cement dust, and cleaned up well after the job was done. We inquired about a senior discount and they gave us one! Every little bit helped and we appreciated it. I would definitely use them again!

TLDR, They did a good job but left a considerable mess. I would use them again.I had Shelby Mechanical hook up my sump pump discharge to the city storm drain. This involved digging a trench from the side of my house down to the street and running some PVC pipe down the trench to connect into the hookup for the storm drain.They arrived on time. Once they started digging, they had some difficulty finding the buried hookup. Im not suggesting they did anything wrong. They just dug a much larger hole near the street than I was expecting. Eventually, they were able to locate the hookup, and they installed everything as expected. They did have to create a new hole in the side of the house because the original location for the pipe leaving the house was too low. I do wish they had told me they were doing that. I would have approved it, but it would have been nice to know. They did a good job with it, though, and they even caulked around the pipe--something the HVAC company did not do when they installed our furnace.They filled in the trench and hole before they left. It was a mess (sorry I didnt take pictures), but I expected that--they are not a landscaping company. Neither my wife nor my neighbor were expecting that, though. The workers did pile some dirt on my neighbors planting bed that was very close to where the hole was. I told them that my neighbor was very understanding, but I should have talked to him about the possible consequences of the job.Anyway, we tried to clean everything up afterwards, and I thought it was looking much better. However, my neighbor chose to call Shelby Mechanical without telling me. The company sent some men out to fix things the next day, but it actually looked a little worse when they left. The neighbor called again, and a supervisor was supposed to come out the next day. I was told he never did come out.The bottom line from my side of things is that they did what I expected them to do, and it looks like they did it well. Then even installed a new backflow preventer on the sump discharge, and everything is draining really well. Its unfortunate that my neighbor wasnt happy, but my wife and I have been working to put everything back the way it was, and it should look much better in the spring.The cost for all this was considerable, in my opinion, buy it was more than $4k less than another quote I received. So, I knocked off just one star for piling the dirt on the neighbors planting bed in the first place and not following up to make sure he was happy. However, I would use their services again.

I highly recommend Shelby Mechanical. I called 1.29.19, late in the afternoon, with an emergency for a backed up kitchen double sink. On 1.30 19, I recd a call to confirm Marcus was on his way. Unfortunately while using the camera on the main drain by the basement laundry tub, the camera got wedged in a broken pipe and Marcus had to call for assistance from Justin, the Supv. The consensus was we have a broken pipe and the basement floor needs to be busted up to get to it. Marcus and Justin arrived at 9 am on 1.31.19 and worked diligently busting up the floor, retrieving the camera, removing and replacing broken pipe with PVC pipe and meticuously filling in the hole with cement. Not only are their work ethics exceptional, they are both very personable and go above and beyond to satisfy the customer. The company offers reasonable rates also. This is my first experience with Shelby Mechanical but I must say, I am a very satisfied customer and will definitely call them for any future plumbing issues.

Connor the crawlspace guy was very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. He replaced an old and separated drain line from the kitchen sink and a bathtub drain line which had also failed, mostly due to the age of the piping material used (ABS black plastic). This was well before the invention of PVC, and was used for drain lines in crawlspaces and other areas subject to colder temperatures back in the 1950s when the house was built and for many years after. As the ABS piping approaches the end of its life expectancy(50-70 years), it begins to fail at the joint connections. In most parts of the country including Michigan, ABS is no longer used. He did a great job and we would definitely recommend Connor and Shelby Mechanical LLC to anyone who may need a reputable plumbing contractor.
