We could not have had a better experience with Scott - he is the contractor every homeowner hopes they will get when they bid out a job. Knowledgeable and personable, and he did such an outstanding job with our tank-to-tankless water heater install and new gas line that the city inspector called it fantastic, and commercial quality, rare to see in a residential install. The install was done on a Wednesday, and on Thursday the inspector signed off and Scott turned on the gas, so only 24 hours without hot water. He made sure all our other gas appliances were functional after the gas was turned back on, cleaned up all the debris, and even painted the new exterior gas line to prevent rust.

This company is top notch. Matt Ravio came out and installed my new hot water heater. He was equipped with everything he needed for the installation. As a General contractor my self, being prepared for the installation is the most important thing. No one wants to hear, I dont have a part Ill have to come back. Simply not the case with Matt. He showed up in a beautiful service truck, well organized. It made the service incredibly efficient. The water was off for less than an hr. The best part was we had a great conversation there entire service, like it was no sweat. My wife was so happy that we wont be stuck without hot water heater in the dead of winter. Several people in my family have used Stan The Hot Water Man over the decades. Their price was more than fair: $1500 for a 50 gallon installed. They also would have been pretty quick this last time we needed a hot water heater to get it installed, had we needed a , 50 gallon one. That said, this last time we needed an 80 gallon hot water heater, so we ended up having to look elsewhere as they were only doing 50 gallon ones (hence a star off). However, I would have absolutely zero problems calling them if I needed a repair, needed a 50 gallon hot water heater or if they had had an 80 gallon one available.

Another company had quoted me $852 to repair my water heater and would have had to order the part which would have caused a further delay. Scott from STHWM is the real deal. Our tank went out and he came quickly to fix it. It was an old tank and I’ve been wanting to have a tankless water heat installed.Took a few weeks to order the Rinnai tankless but Scott did a great job installing the whole thing… new gas line etc. etc.We are really happy with the new Rinnai tankless.Scott was awesome to work with. Very thorough, detail oriented, and really knows his stuff. Seriously great dude and great company to work with. I will use them in the future.

We like many others has frozen and burst pipes over the last few weeks. When ours burst, the hot water heater fried.I called so many places trying to get on the list to come out. We were able to temporarily fix our pipes for cold water but were without hot.The only delay in my service was due to the hot water heater company sending parts in a timely manner. Our tech, Tyler went above and beyond checking on the status of our parts with the company often. When the parts arrived he was Johnny on the spot and got here ASAP to get us hot water again. 2.5 weeks without hot water was tough with little ones and no way to shower at home, but we made it. Tyler arrived this morning and got us up and running!Thank you Tyler for your kindness, compassion and great work!

Stan the Hot Water Man was great! Our 3.5 year old Rheem water heater died unexpectedly this past Sunday. We contacted 20+ companies. Many couldnt see us for 1-2 weeks (some 4 weeks!) We had 1 company come out to try to troubleshoot and that person automatically told us we needed a new water heater and quoted us $3,000.On Monday, I decided to check out Stan the Hot Water Man. I was assigned Rico, who was fabulous. He first tried to help me figure out if we could get the Rheem warranty to cover everything because I really shouldnt need a new water heater. Unfortunately, Rheem was being way too complicated and not helpful, so I decided Ill just buy a new water heater instead of waiting weeks/months to get Rheem to get onboard with sending us new parts.Rico scheduled us for Friday and put up with a lot of texts from me in the meantime as I tried to figure out the logistics of everything. When Rico showed up today, he was early, very communicative, and very knowledgable. He replaced our water heater, gave us his contact information if anything goes wrong in the future, and answered all of my random water heater questions.4.5 days without hot water was rough, however, I really do appreciate Stan the Hot Water Man and the customer service delivered by both Rico and the office staff. If only I had known about Stan The Water Heater Man along time ago!!!I cannot be more impressed with the service that they provided.I bought my last two water heaters from George Morlan and called them yesterday for advice after explaining the situation and my error code and they recommended a new water heater and gave me a price that gave me a little sticker shock.Then I called Jacobs Heating and Air and they said they are booked a few weeks out for installation and they recommended Stan The Water Heater Man.I had a callback within minutes after calling them with a tech (Ian) that listened to my issues and without hesitation, informed me that he thought I could fix it and extend the life on my water heater for many more years.Ian and Matt came out today and explained what the issue was and replaced the necessary parts. They were very good showing me the parts that failed as well as showing me the new parts.My water heater is functioning like new for about $200!!! Which is significantly less than what they originally quoted me over the phone without inspecting the water heater. How often does that happen?!?I am totally impressed and one happy customer!

Jake from Sam The Water Man who works the areas west of Portland arrived with a new water heater at noon, had it installed by 1 pm, and we had hot water by 2:30 pm. Very professional and methodical; took away the old unit; great job; reasonably priced.

Kenny from Stan The Hot Water Man was able to fit us in as his last appointment of the day on Friday. My 25 year old hot water heater was shot! He was able to schedule us for a new tank install on Monday which I was so grateful for! We can still boil water to get through a weekend, its not that big of a deal! He was professional on both appointments, wore a mask both visits because a member of the household cant be vaccinated against covid for medical reasons.The install was complicated from the beginning because the hot water tank is in a closet in the now living room that use to be the garage. The floor has been built up with wood though the closet wasnt, making it sit 8 below the floor. Then there was a question of a drain tube going from the closet to the outside of the house, luckily there was one from the previous tank though not perfect, it was acceptable.Kenny did an absolutely incredible job of getting the old tank out, I actually applauded him! He brought a stand per my request and had a drain pan, both of which are now installed with the new tank. Old galvanized fittings were replaced with new copper ones. He was able to connect the drain pan to the line going outside. He just did an incredible job, he worked extremely hard for 2.5 hours! I couldnt be happier with the results and the professionalism!I highly recommend Stan The Hot Water Man company for their professionalism, knowledge and fair prices! I wouldnt and didnt call anyone else because I have known about this company for years, as a former appliance repair business owner, we only referred hot water tanks to them!

Awesome, truly awesome! I called on a Saturday morning to a minor crisis of an old failed water heater. After trying a few locations and not getting good response, a friend recommended calling Stan the Hot Water Man. I got connected to one of the technicians (Johnny) and schedules worked out perfectly. Water heater replaced within a few hours... by early afternoon on a Saturday. Even better - the final price was slightly lower than estimate and very competitive to other prices quoted... even with same-day and Saturday fees added on. Im so glad to have been referred to this company and will gladly refer them to others.

I called, spoke with a very nice, professional woman who took my name and number. She said a technician would call me back within 1 hour. 26 mins later I received a call and Rico came right over. After checking out hot water heaters at two big name stores and having one of the stores contractor/installer call me and tell me that my 15 year old whirlpool hwh needs replaced because it was making a knocking noise and the cost of the 50 gal hwh, remove and replace it plus permit and taxes, I was looking at around $3200, I decided to do some Google reviews. I looked at several, and a couple that I looked at had a few bad one star reviews, and in the review they actually stated that they had Stan The Hot Water Man fix or replace their water heaters. So, I read some of this companies reviews and felt good calling them. My call was answered by a real person by the name of Mike who happened to be the owner I believe. Mike was very helpful and told me I probably didnt need a new hwh. He had one of his techs call me (Johnny) and told me he would call me later which he did and told me he was on his way. (Same day mind you). Johnny showed up, did an excellent service on the hwh, and in a little over an hour later had it fixed and operating perfectly. Johnny was very professional, friendly and hard working. Total cost was a little over $250, which is way less than a new hwh, and I have a few years left on my current hwh. I highly recommend having your hwh serviced or replaced by Stan The Hot Water Man.

Our Navien tankless water heater stopped providing hot water on and off, some of the time. After I flushed and cleaned all the filters, still no success. Reached out to one famous Portland institution and they quoted $200 just to come out and check the problem, $40+/hr for any time spent at the house, but please wait a couple days. Had used Stan WAY in the past and finally remembered them so this morning texted them with the problem. They came out that day (today), understood the root cause immediately did the parts replacement, checked some other issues (leaking trap plug), fixed them and were done in less than 30 minutes. Professional service, friendly, and most importantly they knew what they were talking about and there was no BS. Total cost parts included less that the other Portland institution charged just to come out and initiate troubleshooting. I would highly recommend Stan The Water Heater Man as your first call for ANY water heater-related issues. Hopefully I wont have any future issues but if so going straight to Stan.

After having another plumbing company come out (D and F plumbing) 3 times at a great cost we called Stan the Hot Water Man and Kyle came out and fixed our tankless hot water heater in 30 minutes! This was a very expensive lesson for us to learn... that we should have called Stan FIRST! The other company never really did much of anything but hem & haw and advise us to get a new unit at a very high cost. Kyle serviced our hot water heater and in 30 minutes it was up and running!!! Very reasonable service charge, friendly, and most importantly COMPETENT and efficient. We will always call Stan first with any plumbing needs. Thank you for knowing what you are doing!

Our hot water heater went out so we started calling around to get quotes for a new hot water heater. Several companies were booked out until next week, some didnt answer their phone and some didnt even have a professional recording on their voicemail. I still havent heard back from about a third of the people I left messages for. Three companies wanted to charge for coming out for a quote which would then be credited towards my bill but I was very uninterested in doing that.When I called Stan the Hot Water Man a very nice person answered immediately and said she would have their technician call us, which he did. He was able to fit us in after a nearby service call and had us up and running that afternoon for a fraction of the cost of a new hot water heater. Plus, Darrin was able to explain to us why we kept having this problem and how to prevent it in the future, which was very helpful. We will definitely use them again!

Look no further. I just had an excellent experience having my hot water heater replaced.I bought a water heat from Lowe’s (huge mistake). I had a licensed plumber come over to do the job. To make a long story short, he couldn’t drain it and declined the job.I called “Stan the hot water man”, and Jonny called me back with in five minutes to ask me the details. He said it would be no problem and scheduled a SPECIFIC date and time for the following week.He came over today and we discovered the Lowe’s heater to be heavily damaged out of the box. He went back to the shop and brought back a much better quality heater for the same price I paid at Lowe’s.Jonny was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We have used Stan the Hot Water Man on two separate occasions. Both times service has been top notch. Recently, the hot water heater stopped working in our rental (no hot water and small leak). Since the 50 gallon Bradford White gas hot water heater was less than 6 years old and still under warranty, we were stunned to receive an estimate from NW Sundance Services (referred by our home warranty company, AHS) that repairs would be over $1,200 (not covered by our home warranty) on top of the cost of a new hot water heater -- we decided a second opinion was needed. It appeared that Sundance was trying to take advantage of the situation and were more interested in overcharging us for unneeded repairs than fixing the problem. Im so glad I called Stan the Hot Man. Kenny suspected the problem was likely the flex hose based on the description of the issues and the photos I took of the unit. He carved out time to come out the next morning. The flex hose was all that was needed, and I gladly paid the $160.50 fee. I am deeply disappointed that American Home Shield farms out business to less than reputable companies like Sundance instead of to honest, experienced, and highly reputable companies like Stan the Hot Water Man. Kenny you really came to my rescue and I will be eternally grateful. You have my business for life.

Our Rheem tankless water heater kept shutting off, so we called the company who installed it. They came out, fiddled with it for a while, charged us an arm and a leg, and left. The heater shut off again two hours later! We called Stan The Hot Water Man the next day. They came out, dismantled the entire heater, cleaned the burner assembly and charged us about half of what the other outfit did. That was three weeks ago, and the heater has been working perfectly ever since. Five stars!

Awesome people, my go-to plumber now. After dealing with calling around and companies saying they would send someone out for a quote and then they either dont show up, or they would tell me things that were contrary to everything I had found, like saying “no you cant do a recirculating pump on a tankless unit” (which is not true) I was so glad to have found Stan the hot water man. Darin was awesome in repairing my tankless line, and is coming back for another project as well. It was time to replace a 19 year old hot water heater in my duplex. Setting up the call was exceptionally easy and without having to request it they were able to replace my water heater the same day. Unfortunately my technician wasnt great. He didnt have the skills to do ANY troubleshooting on the old water heater, so repair wasnt an option, and he clearly stated this. Also as he was finishing up I noticed he left an electrical junction box dangling over my water main, unattached from any walls. Beyond being not to code and dumb, it wasnt how it was when he got here. I asked him to put it back were it was and the technician refused. He flat out blamed me and said no. So right then and there I fixed it while he started packing up. While moving this I found an electrical short and the cause to my issues. After paying the tech and sending him on his way I called the office and talked to Andrew a manager. He was extremely apologetic and refunded my cc fee for the hassle. 1 star for the tech (he installed a water heater and it works), 4 stars for the company. They stand behind their products, the work, their promises, and great customer service. Thanks Andrew!
