It was a great experience working with J&M. They were extremely professional, considerate of both our timeline and budget, and just a pleasure to work with.We engaged J&M early this year (Jan / Feb) and let them know that we were expecting a baby in Aug. They made sure to work backwards from the date to get our extensive bathroom build and remodel done. They gave us periodic updates to make sure we were within budget and flagged any concerns early to make sure we finished the project on time.We are very happy with the work – and the overall project is high quality and looks great. They also had a great attention to detail, yet kept us under budget.They also helped us problem solve any unexpected issues (e.g., our designer had suggested really expensive glass for our bathroom, they found a much cheaper, local, and good quality alternative), they also helped source our barn doors and brackets for the bathroom when all that was sent by designer was a Pinterest wall…Would highly recommend to a friend and would work with them again in the future.

Just finished up a bathroom remodel with J & M and so happy that we found them. We had a tiny little bathroom with plumbing issues and wanted to re-arrange part of the house to make it bigger (and fix the issues). The project took about 9 weeks and stayed within budget along the way. The sub-contractors and everyone we interacted with at J & M were friendly and professional. I do feel that we got lucky to have Carlos (Project Manager) and Jose (Craftsman) on the team. Carlos was always quick on the phone to resolve issues. Jose did most of the remodel work itself; demolition, framing, drywall, and finish work. Joses attention to detail -- especially the tiling -- is truly next level. Like all jobs, you always run into unexpected issues, but this job was surprisingly drama-free with only some minor stuff that was quickly resolved. I truly feel like J & M is an ethical and responsible company that takes pride in their work and making their customers happy. We have been recommending them to our friends and would not hesitate to call them again!

They had a dedicated contractor on site for the majority of the project, and were open to feedback throughout the process.In the end, weve received a high quality, custom renovation that we know will add value to our home. Im excited to live in this house with these updates for years to come.

We enjoyed working with J&M on a major house remodeling project. Carlos, Ryan, Nick & Christian did a great job with an ever expanding scope. They corrected many issues that could have become major problems later. In addition, we were able to upgrade energy related features of the home that will save us money for years to come.

We decided to add a primary suite (470 sq ft) to our home that would be constructed on an existing deck over our daylight basement. In addition, we wanted to turn our daylight basement into a City of Seattle permitted 1,890 sq ft Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU), including a kitchen, living/dining room, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an office. After a bad experience with a design/build contractor, we took our plans, got a city permit issued and interviewed 3 building contractors. We ultimately selected J&M Remodel based on their qualifications, a detailed cost estimate and references. We are approximately 80% complete with the project now and wanted to share that we are thrilled with the workmanship and progress being made on our house remodel. The J&M project team has been absolutely AWESOME! They have been very responsive, great communicators and always inclusive. They have suggested excellent ideas for modifications and provided helpful guidance throughout this process. In addition, every subcontractor that they have brought on the job has done an excellent job. They have been very skilled, timely and responsive. Also, they have left the job site totally cleaned up upon job completion. We feel very fortunate to be working with the J&M team.

J&M were our contractors for our kitchen remodel. The remodel project involved removing all existing appliances, cabinets, countertops, and lighting, and replacing with new ones, including tiling on the walls. We kept the basic footprint the same, but re-worked some functionality and added a few new features like a wine fridge.We enjoyed working with the entire team throughout the project. Justin was helpful in answering our questions as we selected appliances and prepared for the renovation. He stayed in touch during the project and helped trouble shoot when needed.Roman, our project lead, kept us informed each day on our progress. We knew when they would be at the house to do work and when various subcontractors would be coming as well. Roman and his team spent a lot of time in our house with us during the renovation and were always polite, friendly, and helpful. They took care to clean up their work spaces and answered our many questions.We love the finished kitchen! It is the kitchen of my dreams and turned out so much better than I imagined! Roman and the team worked so hard to make sure everything looked beautiful and that we were fully satisfied. One of my friends saw the kitchen and said it looked “like a magazine” and I was so excited and proud. I agree and have J&M to thank for their hard work!

We used J&M for a bathroom remodel. Took the existing space down to studs, installed new custom cabinets, shower, tile, fixtures, etc. The project finished on-budget, and the workmanship was very good. We enjoyed working with everyone on the J&M team and wouldnt hesitate to use them again. The project did run a bit long, although a big part of that was covid-related supply chain issues. It was our first time doing a major remodel, and Justin and all his suppliers really helped us out with materials selection. We think it looks great and didnt use a designer. Overall a very good experience!

Carlos was great to work with! He kept us informed throughout the whole project and was on top of everything. There was a lot of different decision making throughout the bathroom addition we overlooked but Carlos was on top of it with giving suggestions and ideas to help make our dream bathroom become reality. If you get work done from J&M don’t hesitate to ask for Carlos to be on your project he really made the whole process smooth.

We had an issue with our shower where it was not properly water sealed and had been slowly leaking, culminating in white mushroom caps growing on our shower floor. We called J &M based on a referral from a friend, they were also the only contractor willing to take on a partial bathroom v a full bathroom remodel. They were able to fit us in between other larger projects and also accommodate my pickiness with tile choices that led to more delays. The work was completed over a couple months (including several weeks waiting for tile) and proceeded briskly when there was active work. Jose (who did most of the work) was fantastic, gave good updates, was meticulous, careful, and kept things clean. They will be the first folks I call if I need more work done. I would give them an unreserved recommendation to anyone who needs remodeling done. They are not cheap (then again, no one is these days) but they are worth it.

We had the very best bathroom remodel experience with J&M. We received a handful of bids, with theirs right in the middle as far as price, but way above the rest as far as detail and professionalism. From beginning to end, this was painless. The final invoice was very close to the original bid, and the job was finished in exactly the amount of time promised. Russell, our lead contractor, was wonderful to work with. He is patient, accommodating, and a very talented carpenter. The finished result is exactly what I had hoped for. I highly recommend J&M!

J&M remodeled our kitchen last summer and they did a fantastic job. Almost a year later and we still appreciate it every day, everything is holding up well. The overall process took about 10 weeks from start to finish, and they were friendly and communicative throughout the process. In the beginning we werent sure exactly what we wanted, and Justin quickly had a better vision for our space than we did. The work was extensive - taking out a load-bearing wall, moving the sink to a different wall, two new windows, removal of a third window, installation of a new gas line, new flooring... in short it was a complete tear-down and rebuild. We have another window project queued up for work once this pandemic has cleared up and cant wait to see the team again in the near future. One more last story - they brought in extra hands to finish up in the last few days just to make sure things were done before family was scheduled to visit - they really went out of their way to make things work for us.

Earlier this year we had our kitchen fully gutted and redone by J&M construction. When planning out our project we reached out to multiple contractors for proposals/budgets and were very impressed with how responsive and thorough Justin was. Our house is old (1928) and as first time homeowners we had a lot of questions. Justin was very knowledgeable and when he provided the proposal and budget we were blown away with the level of detail compared to others we had reached out to. We felt very comfortable moving forward with J&M at that point because we had a very clear idea of what it would take to achieve our goals.We ended up starting the project earlier than anticipated which was a little crazy on our end trying to clear things out, but the crew was very polite and worked with us in the first couple of days. There were a couple of surprises like water damage under the window, which is to be expected with an old house. J&M was able to show us the situation and provide change order budgets so we knew how much time and materials it would take to address them.We ran into some challenges when it came to scheduling the subs along the way (thanks pandemic), but Justin and Mandy were very responsive to our concerns and got them addressed.The quality of work is fantastic and we are very happy with how it turned out. We would definitely recommend working with J&M.

These are challenging times in the construction industry. We feel fortunate to have found J & M. The owners and all of the employees we have met so far are pleasant, capable, and flexible. There was no pushback when we did some of our own work or used subs we had worked with in the past. (That said, having access to their subs was a godsend. Just try to get a good plumber these days.) We were particularly impressed with Ryan and Nick who handled our most recent project and consistently showed good judgment about what aspects of the job were worth spending time and money on and which ones were not. We were sufficiently confident that we left them on their own and were able to travel during some of the most difficult construction periods. Not only was the job almost entirely completed when we returned, but the house was much cleaner than we anticipated. What a relief!

We hired J&M to do a bedroom addition, shower addition to a powder room, and mudroom install. Justin and Mandy were very responsive during the estimate phase. Carlos was the project manager, he was solid. Jose did a lot of the work, he was excellent, top notch quality and efficiency. Overall the project finished ahead of budget and on schedule. A few minor quality issues but overall we were very happy with the service J&M provided.

We contracted J&M to remodel the wet room in our bathroom which included demo to the studs, moving plumbing, new floor and wall tile, installing a glass shower enclosure and plumbing fixtures. There ware some hick-ups with the initial work crew in addition them falling behind schedule. Once this was discussed with our project manager, Carlos Martinez, he brought a new crew in that worked diligently to correct and complete the project. I appreciate J&Ms commitment to fixing errors and highly recommend working with Carlos and Jose.

J&M did a lovely job on our kitchen remodel. We had them tear it down to the studs, remove a wall, close up a doorway, and then put it all back together into a designer kitchen. They were also very accommodating to a major change in scope when we unexpectedly needed them to pull up all the flooring on the main floor, level it, and lay new hardwoods.The down payment was minor and they set a reasonable start date that they could commit to (even starting a few days early!) We appreciated the homeowner portal where we could review details of the work and cost of our project as we went along.J&M displayed a willingness to accommodate changes and fix any minor issues to ensure we would walk away loving the end product. For example, during a final walkthrough we showed them some issues with the finish on the quartz countertops. They arranged for the counter subcontractor to come out and repair them for us. So appreciated!I would highly recommend them and have already shared their contact information with our neighbor who was blown away by the beauty of our kitchen and new wood floors. We can’t wait to work with them again on our next remodel project.

We are repeat customers of J & M Remodel. They have remodeled 4 rooms of our house to date. We first found J & M Remodel in 2017 when we were looking to remodel 2 bathrooms. Owners Justin and Mandy reached out to us right away and came out soon after to look at our projects. So when we were finally ready to remodel our VERY small and outdated kitchen and refresh our living room we did not hesitate to use J & M Remodel again.What we really appreciate about J & M Remodel is that the owners are hands on, involved and are available throughout the process. Both times we were assigned a team that was focused and dedicated to our project. Even with 6 years between projects we had a similar experience with each project. This not only helps to move your project along and get it done on time (both times they did) it also instills trust, as you are allowing people into your house every day for months sometimes. I had a leak in my upstairs shower, which dripped down into the wall below (in the foyer) and affected the electrical wires. Brandon came out and diagnosed the problem quickly (a faulty shower pan). He was able to start the repair right away, which involved taking out the tiles on the floor and lower level of the shower, removing the old shower pan, drying out the whole area, replacing the shower pan and re-tiling. He also fixed the shower door, which had been installed incorrectly years ago. Finally, he fixed the hole in the drywall (created to diagnose the issue).

My only regret is that I dont have the capabilities to give 6 stars! Start to finish this has been the only time I have ever hired a contractor and not only felt completely taken care of but also had the peace of mind that they had my best interest at the top of their priorities. When we met with Justin I had a vision (on a very difficult remodel) of how I wanted to rearrange my house. They able to understand my terrible explaining of what I wanted to do but also offer so many suggestions on things I would have never thought of to improve my basic plan. My wife and I could not be happier with the outcome but their guidance through the entire experience is what truly blew our minds. I wish I had been introduced to J&M years before, I could have saved myself multiple regrets and heartaches struggling to get our projects completed the correct way. If I could offer one piece of advise call J&M first!

We have lived 32 years in a 37 year old house in West Seattle. Our 7ft X 5ft bathroom off the master bedroom needed to be remodeled. The sink, toilet and shower all leaked and required constant maintenance. The bathroom was a wreck.We picked J&M Remodeling to remodel our bathroom for two reasons: first, they are a known local West Seattle company, and second, we could tell from their photo galleries of their work that they knew what they were doing. Our belief was confirmed when we talked with Justin. This company knows what it’s doing.Russ Hoefer, the chief remodeler, coordinated and did all the construction work, carpentry, WEDI install, and tile work. The tile work alone is remarkable. Russ is very experienced, adaptable and readily solves any problems to keep the momentum going.The plumber, Dean, with Rain City and the electrician, Cameron - Fine Lines Electric, are phenomenal. Not only was this space remodeled, but it was also re-constructed with quality and material upgrades that equal the beauty. The workmanship put into this job is fantastic. We love our new bathroom.We highly recommend J&M Remodeling to do any remodeling work for your home.
