Phinney isnt cheap but you get what you pay for. They painted four colors on my 3 1/2 story 3700 sq ft house built into the side of a hill with only the standard Seattle 12-14 foot sides between houses. Didnt need scaffolding or stepjacks, saving me money. They basically did the job when scheduled (mid August). I was worried about someone falling/getting hurt so we discussed safety plans and they followed them. Also discussed prep work and a couple fixes (that I did). Never had a disagreement, they worked around my schedule and accommodated our window air conditioners. Only thing left after their cleanup were a couple hidden bits of blue tape. One of the colors wasnt right (a bit off tint of my chosen color) and they made it right at their cost. They gave me the Lalo crew and they were very professional. Ryan was on top of the project throughout, and he was honest and fair about pricing and a change I requested. Seriously, the only way this could have been better would have been a lower price but the price was fair for the work done. I would/will use them again.

Weve used several different painters over the years, but the job that Phinney Ridge Painting just did for us stands out head and shoulders above the rest. The very experienced workers clearly pride themselves on a job well done. We also had them do some carpentry work that needed to happen before the painting could start. (Replacing some boards on the porch, replacing some posts) That team also did a great job. Our has hasnt looked this good since we bought it 25 years ago. If I could give 10 stars I would. They matched my color perfectly, took great care for neatness, cleaned up everyday. Painted the exterior of my house, and sanded and refreshed all the wood of the decks and fences. Polite, professional and a jewel of a company to deal with. It felt like they took as much care of my house as they would their own. I had seen them working on another house in the neighborhood and was super impressed with the attention to detail and professionalism. On that house some of the wood needed to be replaced and was matched. When they were finished the house looked like new. I decided that this was the only company I would contact for the work on my house. I am so glad I did. I highly recommend them. There were also little touches they did with the painting that made my house look even better than before. (Painting the downspouts the same color of the house behind it - white on some areas, teal on the major part of the house, black on the belly band.) The downspouts blend seamlessly in with the house. Try them, you will not be disappointed.

This summer Phinney Ridge Painting painted the exterior of my 110 year old house and I am so happy I hired them and with the final results! Jairo, Jose, Emerson, Ryan, Ned and the full painting crew were a wonderful team through every step of the process.The bid was not the lowest, but Phinney stood out in several areas: 1) Nik (owner) bid the project and was the only company that wouldnt paint my house a dark blue color I was set-on. Nik explained the siding on my 110 year old house was original, and due to the location of the house and sun exposure the dark blue would heat up the siding too much and ultimately damage it. 2) Painters are company employees with full benefits, employed all year long 3) They are obsessed with the prepping process and this ultimately produces such great results and I love the comfort of 7 year warranty.I have gotten so many compliments on the final results and the paint work.I would not hesitate to use Phinney Ridge Painting services in the future! We had an excellent experience with Phinney Ridge Painting! Our older, cedar-sided house needed an exterior paint job. Along with some minor carpentry and gutter work. PRP was very helpful and professional from estimate at start to final walk-thru at end. It was great to have a project manager. Israel was super responsive to every request, question, concern. Painting crews were punctual, organized, neat, friendly and did excellent work. The paint job turned out wonderfully. Workers are knowledgeable, punctual, and very detail-oriented. We have an old house with lead paint, and we needed repairs, and came upon some unexpected things along the way; it was not a simple job in my mind. But somehow, it all went smoothly. Special high praise to Ryan M, our project manager; Jairo, our lead painter, and Brendon, one of the carpenters. These three people kept the communication flowing and that kept me sane. We recently hired Phinney Ridge Painting to install new cabinets to extend the kitchen area and repaint our new and existing to match. Having been through 4 years of construction and renovation, they have been one of the best trades/companies we’ve dealt with. Every step of the process and employee were very professional and such a pleasure to deal with.From the initial bid to the completion, we are so happy with the final results. The price is not “cheap” but their customer service and quality of work are worth it.Shout out to Arnoldo and team for going above and beyond. Our family is very sensitive to dust/fumes and he made sure that areas were concealed properly to limit the impact to our family. He also took notice of areas that might need a little touch up (but out of scope) to ensure the finish product ties nicely together. It’s nice to see when the people you hire care as much about your home as you do.We have a few exterior projects that we’re saving for next year or later. I would not hesitate to reach out to PRP then.

We recently had most of the interior of our house painted - a huge job! Working with painter Falco Avcu was a pleasure at all times. He is a perfectionist, with a work ethic that is inspiring. He was consistent, accurate, and thorough. Communicating with Jerrod McKinley was also very easy, and clear. Phinney Ridge Painting is a solid, trust worthy painting business. We also had complimentary color consultation that was extremely helpful. Jerrod and Falco went above and beyond, repairing a closet door. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! Just wrapped an interior paint job done by the crew at PRP of our Ballard bungalow. Involved stripping two layers of wallpaper, skim-coating, then priming and painting. Very good process from start to finish - protected everything, cleaned up appropriately each day, then did a final touchup and clean up that left me searching for something to find wrong. Couldnt find anything! Highly recommend PRP.

Phinney Ridge did a great job on our home. They offered a color consultant with their service (which was a huge benefit to us and avoided a potential mistake on color). We were able to select colors that modernized the exterior of our home. After the initial walk-through, we noted some areas that needed to be touched up and they agreed and performed the touch-ups without any issue. The interior paint work was also very good. They are a solid paint company that I will continue to use. For feedback, I recommend that Phinney update clients on adjusted timelines in a more timely fashion. However, it was not easy to get these jobs done this summer/spring during a pandemic and with the fires. I recommend this company.

At the recommendation of our interior designer/stylist we hired Phinney Ridge Painting to paint the interior of our house. I couldnt be happier with the experience we had with them. When we had them out to quote, Ned came over and spent as much time as we needed to walk through the entire house, talk about what we wanted to do, and even helped make some recommendations to us. From the very beginning, he inspired a lot of confidence in the company. We ultimately decided to have them do our trim, walls, and ceiling. The crew they had do the painting was outstanding and extremely professional. They showed up on time every day, worked full days every day, and were so respectful of our house. They cleaned up every evening before going home and when they were working on our kitchen even made sure that we could get access to it every night. We couldnt be happier with the end result. They went way beyond just applying a new coat of paint to everything - every single imperfection in the walls/trim/ceiling was patched and fixed.We had such a great experience with painting that we plan to use them for a few carpentry jobs here in the near future.I highly recommend Phinney Ridge Painting. Ryan Manthey was our project manager who was extremely communicative down to little details I never would have thought of (but would have cared about if I had thought of it)! Our main painters there every day were Jairo and Emerson who were a JOY to have around. We also had Jose on occasion. They were considerate of us coming/going from the house and trying to step around all of the lead paint chips with our dog. I even saw them cover a strangers car in front of our house with plastic so small paint spray dots wouldnt inadvertently land on their car. Were so pleased with the final product and really glad we went with Phinney Ridge to do this big job.

Phinney Ridge Painting just finished painting most of the interior of our house. The did a great job. They were very careful about everything they did. They prepped extremely well (a timely endeavor), protected property very well, painted carefully. And inspected the work repeatedly. No shortcuts. Stanley, the lead, was professional, worked hard (but not hurriedly), supervised the work of the other painters well and was friendly. Even the use of color consultants was very helpful. One of the best painting jobs weve ever had.

Our house is pretty challenging to paint, given that most of it is supported by stilts over a high ravine. Several companies wouldn’t take the job. Others wanted to build scaffolding for an extra $10K-20K. Not only did Phinney Ridge come in with the most reasonable quote, but they were also the most likable and communicative through the process. Jarrod was our PM, and Mike was our head painter. They started our job even earlier than promised and were on time every single day. Mike was an incredible perfectionist with great taste, which meant I could rely on him to make decisions. I couldn’t be happier with the service they provided and the final result. Our home looks gorgeous. And our whole neighborhood thanked us for upping their property values lol.

Phinney Ridge painted the exterior of our 1930 Tudor and we would highly recommend them. Stanley led the team of painters and ensured that we had a great experience - everyone was friendly and professional. Stanley really listened to our needs and worked to accommodate our requests and also offered advice. We ended up changing a decision on a color for a door after the first coat was painted already (totally on us) and the team couldnt have been nicer about it. Our house, in classic Seattle old house style, is on top of some steep steps, in very rough baseline shape, and not the easiest to paint in the heat of summer, but they did a great job. Weve had nearby general contractors for neighbors come by and compliment the work, saying that it was done right.

The actual work they did was fantastic, but what really stood out to me was their customer service, communication and attention to detail. Phinney Ridge came out and painted the outside of our home during the summer of 2020 and we were so pleased we had them come back this spring to paint a large shed that we had built late last year. Our painter was Sam Licio and he did a wonderful job despite the fact that we had a slightly offbeat paint scheme. He was professional, friendly and courteous. His workmanship was amongst the best we have experienced. He was thorough and paid great attention to detail. Phinney Ridge was able to fit us in much sooner than we expected so that was a nice bonus. While waiting for the shed to be painted they came and painted our kitchen, bathroom, and den. They also did some impressive drywall repair in two of the rooms! We will definitely use them again in the future. Thanks Phinney Ridge!

We used Phinney Ridge Painting for a bunch of carpentry projects around our house from door shaving (9 doors in total) to rebuilding our small back deck to a railing on our front porch. The project ended up being way larger than expected (we found out the back deck was almost entirely rotted out) and the crew was able to adjust as necessary and get all of the work done. The crew was great (especially Thomas and David) and I highly recommend using them if youve got a big or small carpentry project on your hands.

We had taken quotes from many painting companies over the course of two years and Phinney Ridge outshone all others by miles right from the start. Nik came to our home for the inspection and was so incredibly knowledgeable and patient in answering questions. Our house was built in 1905, needed lead paint removed, and a lot of prep work. When the project began it was Charley who was there from start to finish, prepping and painting. He made suggestions based on his expertise that improved the finished look of the house. His attention to detail was greatly appreciated. Charley is a great communicator and always listened to our questions and some concerns from our neighbors too, finding solutions that worked for everyone. Ryan was our project manager and made sure everyone was on the same page, his communication skills are outstanding. We always felt like he was there for us. My wife and I used Phinney Ridge Painting to paint the exterior of our Wallingford home in the fall of 2017. We engaged them again in June 2021 to power wash our house and do touch-up/recoating work. We had a wonderful experience both times. We were very pleased with the professionalism, courtesy and responsiveness of the entire team (the owners, managers and crew team) and the quality of the work done. We particularly appreciated that they honored their warranty to address some unexpected wear & tear issues we had with our porch. While you will pay a bit more to use Phinney, the peace of mind knowing that they will deliver and meet/exceed expectations is well worth it!!

Mike and James did a great job, first last fall in getting the primary part of the job done under difficult weather conditions, then this spring in finishing the work and touching up any parts of the late fall painting that didnt wear well over the winter. They were easy to work with, highly skilled, and attentive to detail. They left the job site in perfect condition. In 2021, I made a decision to have the exterior of my house painted. Nik Palladino came out to look at my house and give me an estimate. He was warm, friendly, and knowledgeable and he quickly had my trust. The work itself was done in the summer of 2022. The two workers who were assigned to my project were Roberto and Maurizio. They did a remarkable job preparing the house to be painted. All of my neighbors were impressed at how thorough they were. By the time they got the house finished, it truly looked great. Even after I had paid them in full, they came back to do some minor touch-ups and I was completely happy with the job. My house has never looked better! Long overdue review of the excellent work done on our house by the folks at Phinney Ridge Painting. PRP replaced the siding on 2 faces of our house, repaired the deck, and then did a full exterior paint of the house and deck. Every person we dealt with--from owners Nik and Sam, leads Connor (carpentry) and Israel (painting), and both work crews--were conscientious, friendly, and considerate, with immaculate attention to detail. They were so patient with our MANY requests for slightly different estimates, including or excluding various parts of the job, explained things clearly, and NEVER had a hard sell approach. Our exterior paint job was delayed when Covid landed in March 2020, but as soon as construction industry work was permitted, our work was scheduled and completed, with all safety protocols followed by staff and crew. Our neighbor was having siding replaced at the same time by a different vendor, and was so jealous of the efficient work done by PRP, while his dragged on for months, and especially by the thorough clean-up at the end-of-day everyday, We will 100% be using PRP again when we need work done on the house.

We hired Phinney Ridge Painting to paint the exterior of our home after considering bids from several painting companies. Their bid was not the cheapest, but we were impressed by owner Nik Palladinos knowledge about early 20th-century wood homes, his commitment to their care, and the thoughtful, detailed proposal he made for the job. The people at the company were never short of fully professional, courteous, and helpful. Before painting, they called our attention to gutter issues that needed to be addressed. They navigated the challenges of summer 2020 pandemic and wildfires, and were finally able to get us onto their calendar in November. The preparation to paint was meticulous, with careful paint-shaving and sanding and immaculate daily clean-up, and they took advantage of rainy days to do the pressure washing. The painting process itself went utterly smoothly. They were careful about making sure that we understood every step along the way, and promptly took care of a couple of minor elements that needed fixing at the end. We couldnt be happier with the quality of the workmanship and the friendly, professional service Phinney Ridge provided. We would hire them again in a heartbeat.

I selected Phinney Ridge Painting (PRP) to work on my house after reviewing 3 three bids. Phinney Ridge had the highest bid but when I spoke to their references they all spoke highly of the quality of the workmanship and staff. Also, I wanted a company that could do both painting and carpentry work. The initial work with PRP began with a rotten deck pillar needing repair and a house that needed siding replacement and painting. As the work progressed, structural rot was found and Sam (general manager) facilitated a quality contractor, Ryan of Rhino Construction to make repairs on short notice when I was out of town in a different time zone. Sam kept in regular contact with photos, emails, and texts regarding the progress of the work and costs. Windows needed to be replaced (Rhino Construction) and further carpentry and painting work was done by PRP, inside and out, to complete the job. From start to finish over a total period of about 6 months, the PRP staff (Sam, Alex, Robbie, Falco and many more) were professional, taking pride in their work, and paying attention to the details needed to do a quality job. They kept a clean worksite, arrived on time, and were very respectful of me and my home, inside and out. Thanks to all of you, named and unnamed for doing a great job and putting my house back together with such quality.

When we decided to have our house repainted we knew it would be a big deal. The house was built in 1921 and the original paint was lead based and badly peeling. We contacted four companies for estimates and consultations, only three replied. We chose Phinney Ridge Painting LLC (they were the middle of the bidding range) because Nik (the owner and estimator) spent time to describe to us how the work would be done and why the lead paint had to be completely stripped from the house.Along with having the house painted, we were also having our old rotted deck replaced and four windows replaced too. This created a scheduling issue for getting all the work done during the three months of summer and into early autumn. Phinney Ridge Painting [PRP] worked very well in conjunction with our other contractor to complete the work in the timeframe we had allotted.The crews from PRP who did the stripping, priming and painting always arrived early and worked all day. When we greeted them at the house we were always told that we should announce if we had any issues, concerns or questions about the work being done. At the end of each day the crew cleaned up the areas around the house and folded up their drop-cloths.All the work was done to our satisfaction and the house looks wonderful now. We recommend that you consider PRP for your exterior painting needs rather than choosing a lower bidder.

Every detectable flaw was scraped, sanded well beyond the flaw and heavily primed. There were several instances of unsound wood found (not unusual for a 100 year old house), and all were pointed out and remedies discussed so we could choose how to best fix them. When time came for the final walkthrough, Israel pointed out things to fix that I would never have noticed. I have been through house paint jobs several times before, but this experience was in a whole different class, and quite a revelation. I unhesitatingly recommend.

Phinney Ridge Painting did a great job repainting water damage to our dining room ceiling and repairing and repainting drywall where we had a plumbing repair. Their worker, Luis, was fast, efficient and did an expert job, as well as great clean-up and was very professional.7/7/23: We had an additional job done by Phinney Ridge; stripping and refinishing our porch built-in benches and railings. They badly needed refinishing after years of my amateur attempts to maintain them. Again Luis, mentioned above, began the job but the bulk of the work was done by Xavier and he did a great job. He applied an eco-friendly stripping compound that was safe to use around our garden and planted pots, then carefully scrapped it off. He was meticulous in this process and even more so in the laborious sanding that followed, with careful sanding of the many tight areas between close-set rails and boards on the benches. Then followed stain application, again a long process of applying the stain and then wiping off the excess. The final result is a lovely renewal of the extensive woodwork of our porch.

The Phinney Ridge Painting team that worked on the exterior of our Seattle home did a very thorough job of prep-work, painting (spray, roll and brush), common sense repair when needed and touch up at the end. Our home is heavy on trim and detail work. Excellent communication throughout. Cost not cheap, but almost exact comparison to other bids. Workers all kind, pleasant to be around for several weeks, and very hardworking. We will definitely use them again!

We used PR for the exterior of our house in the summer and just completed some re-painting projects including kitchen, some ceilings and some walls. This included areas that needed wall repairs on cracks and general wear and tear. Jason was the lead for us on both projects and Christian joined him for the latest, interior project. Both projects were really well done. Jason, Christian and Gabriel (from the summer, exterior job) do very good work with a lot of time on prep which allows them to work quickly through the painting with minimal errors. The teams work well together and seem to enjoy working for Phinney Ridge. They cleaned-up each night (important for the interior) and were helpful in trying to avoid inconveniencing us by moving through the kitchen part of the project quickly. They did a great job, are trustworthy and helpful on advice as well.

Phinney Ridge Paintings (PRP) tag line Professional Painting with a Personal Touch pretty much sums up the experience. We feel there was a lot of attention to detail and the finished product shows it. An example is the paint crew pointed out a few areas that could be repaired before painting. One turned out to be a problem that would have become much more serious if left alone. We had used PRPs carpentry team to replace some window and other trim before the paint crew arrived and had that carpentry team do these repairs. This is a plus to working with PRP as getting this scheduled and integrated into the painting work was much smoother than finding a 3rd party and blending schedules. That worked well. Once a start date was in sight there were visits to counsel on the process, color selection and research to answer questions about using lower VOC paint. The paint crew were communicative about what and how they were doing next. The painting division manager did the quality check and his punch list was more demanding than ours. This wound up being a late fall project and we would like to have received more communication re a project start date. We had a lot of anxiety over getting it all complete before the rains came. PRP used the available good weather, including Saturdays to get it done. Long review!? Short story: we would use PRP again and recommend you do too.
