    Our 30 year old furnace finally failed us. Chose John Betlem, based on Google reviews and co-worker recommendation. I am very happy with my choice.Communication between all members of the team ,and with us, were very clear and timely. All representatives assisting us, from initial phone inquiry to installation were phenomenal.What great team work!!All arrived as promised, from initial Technician, Sales, and those installing our new furnace. All were very respectful of entering and working around our home.Will be considering their plumbing and electrical services, as well, in the near future.

    Our relationship with John Betlem has been many years via annual maintenance checks. Your technicians are always prompt, friendly, efficient and helpful. So when Betlem suggested two years in a row that our furnace was showing its age, we asked to have a salesperson come and discuss a new furnace. Justin Slaughter made an appointment in a short time, came and presented us with multiple options for replacing & upgrading our system. He suggested a heat pump and explained the way a heat pump works. We had lots of questions that he thoroughly addressed. Then he presented us with 4 separate quotes, explaining their pros & cons. We decided to go with the heat pump. He set up an appt right then for the installation in a week. That morning the Betlem installers arrived on time with 3 trucks and removed the old air conditioner and furnace and installed the new system in about 6 hours. They worked in teams and got it done. Since then Justin has come back to our house twice to help me fill out the rebate paperwork and teach us how to manage the thermostat for this new technology. We are completely satisfied!!

    The tech who came to our house was polite, professional and patient. He took the time to explain every bit of his repair, what he was finding and how he proposed to fix it. Our heating system was installed by another company and he very competently dove right into working on our Lennox system, even though it was somewhat new territory. We have a satisfied and long standing relationship with the other company, but we would move to Betlem if the other relationship ever went bad.

    The entire process was so easy. Tom Tapke took care of the paperwork for the state rebate and the financing. Eric and Ryan were wonderful installers. They always kept me informed of their progress. Very gracious when I would poke my nose in to see what they were doing. If it were possible, I would give everyone 6 stars!!! The energy audit was completed 2 weeks later by Paul. He went over everything, top to bottom! I was so impressed with John Betlem Heating & Cooling that I would not hesitate to call on them again.

    Very positive experience with John Betlem Heating & Cooling. We needed to replace our 24-year old furnace and heat pump. Tom came to our house and clearly walked through options, features, and pricing. A transparent, informative process. My wife and I made our choices. In short order, Shamus, Chad, and Niej were here to install. Did a great job, including clean-up, showing us exactly what was done, and demonstrating the new system features.And, we very much appreciated the service tech, John, with Rosa quarterbacking the process after-hours, keeping our old furnace patched together for the brief time before the new one was installed.Really nice people.

    Update after new system install: The entire team was extremely professional and informative. They did all the work efficiently and took care to protect the house when carrying in the various system components. They also were great with instructing me on the new system and how to customize my thermostat settings. I was extremely pleased with the entire experience.Miles was one of the most professional technicians I have ever dealt with. He was thorough in explaining the issue with my heat pump and AC unit, but conveyed it in a very understandable way. He was very trustworthy and a great asset to your company. My consultant Mike was equally as informative and professional. He assessed our heating and cooling needs and was able to recommend a great system to last us a long time. On top of everything, John Betlem was able to provide us with a few stand alone AC units to help keep our house cool while we wait for our new system install.

    My Furnace stopped working recently. It was blowing cold air and obviously it was extremely cold in my house. I contacted John Betlem. They send a Technician immediately. After the Diagnosis he told me that it would be very expensive to repair it. I decided to replace it instead. They send someone right away and within two days I had my new Furnace. Meanwhile, they were always there for me answering questions and making sure everything was Okay.I would highly recommend John Betlem to anyone who has an issue with their Heating, Cooling and Electrical system. They are profesionals, Trustworthy and more importantly, they care about their customers.

He arrived on time, and quickly found the issue and my heating system was up and running properly. Too bad the wait was long, but these things happen.

    Eric and Nick did an excellent job installing our new Carrier system. They answered some of my questions regarding the work they were going to perform. They were extremely professional and diligent in their work, cleaned up nicely before leaving. To see the final result of what they accomplished in 8.5 hours was amazing.     Zach who was the technician that serviced my system was very knowledgeable and checked every component to make sure everything worked perfectly. He took the time to explain how the system functions. Very friendly and educational. If the rating system for Zach’s service is a 5 star I would give him a 10!     Long time customer here. I noticed that our hot water heater failed Tuesday night. I had water all over the basement floor. I called their service service line at 10:30pm. Someone called me back within 15 minutes to get the details. They set up a service call for the next day. By 1:30pm, I had a new hot water heater. Awesome service as always! Thank you!

    Here is your response: Spencer arrived for an energy audit. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional and considerate. He explained exactly what he was doing and why. Answered any and all questions as well as providing his professional opinion and/or suggestions.. While doing the audit he found what was determined to be a minor gas leak. He immediately stopped the audit and had me contact the utility company. When the utility company gas emergency operator requested more detailed information, Spencer (at my request) got on the phone and provided the information. When the utility gas service tech arrived Spencer provided the exact necessary information to assist the service tech in locating and providing a temporary seal to stop the leak. Once Spencer felt that the leak was indeed stopped and satisfied with the result he/we continued with the energy audit. If it wasnt for Spencers professionalism and knowledge discovering the leak, as well as providing detailed information to both the utility phone operator and the utility gas emergency tech....there nis no question in my mind that a much more serious incident was averted. THANK YOU SPENCER!Due to the gas leak the energy audit took longer than scheduled. Spencer was very thorough, and systematic regarding all aspects of the energy audit. He did not rush...making certain all information he obtained was accurate. Extremely pleased!

    How responsive they were to our Heating/Cooling emergency. Arrived within an hr on a late Sunday evening. Diagnosed the problem and made recommendations. Matt came to our home to discuss options for our heating/cooling system on Monday AM. The diversity of options was effectively presented and decided. By Tuesday at 4:30 pm, we had installed a hybrid heating system by remarkable technicians - Brad and Aleka. It was remarkable how knowledgeable, efficient and friendly the team was during the installation. What a complicated process! The installation team shared their knowledge and instructions on to operate. Other than the high temperatures in the home during installation, all went smoothly.     Installation was great! In at 8 AM, out by 3:30 PM. Basement was so clean after completion you wouldn’t know a new furnace had been installed.UPDATE, 6 MONTHS LATER: I first used Betlem in the early 80s in a previously owned home. I had a new furnace installed (80% efficient - what did I know? I was young and stupid to things like furnaces, hot water tanks, etc) by Campbell Heating. When I had a problem with it, he came out, cleaned it, said it was fine. He was there all of 20 minutes. I wasn’t satisfied so I called Betlem - at the time, they were in my neighborhood and I had seen the TV ads. After a thorough inspection, they discovered a heating chamber was leaking and they replaced. It was under warranty even though they didn’t install it.Fast forward to 2024: I’m in a different home now, my furnace died. I immediately called Betlem, they came out, told me about the NYS grant and I really got a big bang for my buck, the furnace is 96% efficient and I was also able to insulate the attic and get Central Air which I cannot tell you how much I loved this summer!This is a company that has a 5-star reputation and they deserve it. They’re trustworthy and stand behind their work - which is why I hate to complain. It is virtually impossible to get anyone to return a phone call. In May, I received a coupon for a free AC cover since I had AC installed. I left weekly messages for the salesman to call back but he never did. In July, I asked to speak with someone else and it was hand delivered the following week.I need some electrical work done, someone came out in July to give me an estimate, it would be written up and I would be notified. Again. Nothing. So I started with the phone calls. Again . That was in July. Since the last message I left on October 9th, has remained unanswered, I left another message tonight.     My family has used Betlem for decades because we trust their expertise, products, and work. Several projects were completed this autumn. Following routine maintenance, they inspected and repaired an electrical connection, installed fire/CO detectors, replaced the aging AC and furnace with a heat pump and more efficient furnace, installed an air scrubber, conducted an energy audit, provided energy efficient light bulbs and power strips, installed insulation in various parts of the attic, and guided application for rebates. Every salesperson was knowledgeable and timely in communication. Every individual or team member who performed work did so in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner. They communicated clearly when they were coming, worked efficiently, removed all of the old equipment, and left the work sites clean. They will continue to be our go-to company for heating, cooling, and electricity.One year later, in 2024, Betlem upgraded my electrical box. It now has double capacity, plus a household circuit breaker. Again, the rep who completed the application was very helpful, and the team was prompt, professional, courteous, and clean. Extras under the government-funded program included a water-efficient showerhead and more light bulbs. Betlem makes these projects relatively easy to navigate. We will continue to call them as needed.

    When dealing with a central air conditioning system that was not functioning during the recent heat wave, I needed to act quickly and didnt have the time to do alot of research. Instead, I needed a company with a trusted name and reputation. I was thrilled to learn that Mapstone, a well known family owned company in Manlius has now teamed up with John Betlem, another family owned company with a name and reputation I recognized from my years of living in Rochester. So I turned to them and they did not disappoint. Within a couple hours of my first call to them, a sales advisor was at my house to assess the situation and present several alternative solutions. He was timely, knowledgable, professional, and trustworthy, and left me with a written proposal that I could compare to a second proposal I was expecting to receive later that evening from a competitor. After receiving the second proposal, I felt confident moving forward with the John Betlem / Mapstone solution which was then scheduled for two days later. The install technicians were punctual, courteous, competant, and neat, and they completed the install by mid-afternoon. And after topping out at an interior temperature of 83, the new system worked efficiently to bring it down to 75 by 10pm and 70 by 6am the next morning.     John Betlem Heating & Cooling, Inc. has been my HVAC company for several decades now. When they replaced my 60+ year old furnace, they also added an AC unit. The furnace still has an efficiency rating in the high 90%, as compared to the original furnace with a less the 40% efficiency rating. I maintain a service contract, which is now renewed annually, and they are very good about calling me months ahead of time to schedule the annual cleaning and maintenance. Their technicians are always friendly, through, willing to explain what is done and any recommendations, and do a good job of cleaning up when done.     Im updating my review from my recent experience in Sept 2023. This company continues to amaze me with their caring approach, the knowledge level, work ethic and professionalism of everyone I deal with. The salesman, Tom, came out to go over some questions with me, discovered I was eligible for a New York State energy upgrade program, went through all of the approval processes for me, got me approved and set me up with a program to get my furnce replaced, AC installed and full insulation at a price I could afford. The installation team, lead by Eric, was fabulous. The new equipment is a wonderful improvement, and was an upgrade I would have never considered if Tom hadnt helped me take advantage of the NYS energy upgrade program. The sales person Mike was excellent and gave us options with no pressure and even showed up on install day to make sure everything was going well.     John Betlem Heating and Cooling installed a new Carrier Heating and AC system in my home yesterday. The job from top to bottom was awesome! From Mike, the comfort adviser, to Kevin, Nick and Tom, the techs that came out to do the work. Everything was 100% on time as promised. Started work on time and finished less than originally estimated. They did it all in a day! I couldnt believe it! The work was done professionally and exhibited master craftsmanship. They took out and hauled out all the old equipment and left my home spotless when finished. You couldnt tell that someone was just here doing a major installation. They treated my home as if their own. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The cost was brought down from trade-ins and promotions that Mike had highlighted to me in our initial meeting. I felt like I was getting a lot for my money. The installation crews for both the Carrier Infinity Furnance and Heat Pump were excellent.     I had a new furnace installed yesterday and after less than a day it is clear that it is quieter and distributes heat more evenly than the furnace it replaced.Shortly before 8 yesterday I received a call telling me the Betlam workers were on their way. They arrived promptly and soon had my basement set up like a shop. They had to replace the furnace and because of some features I added needed to redo some ductwork. They were hard workers, professional and took the time to answer any questions I had. I would be happy to see Jesse and Justin again.Also kudos to Mike Petrella for guiding me to the right fit and right add-ons for my house.

    John Betlem installed a new HVAC system in December of 2021. The work was meticulously done and the system (Carrier) has been working perfectly since. We just had the first routine maintenance performed and our technician, Bob was the best I have had come through here.
