Craftsman Home Remodeling did a really great job on our deck rebuild. They were easy and pleasant to work with. They replaced a 30-year old rotten deck and the results look amazing. Their pricing was very competitive, and they do quality work. I dont have a single complaint, and Id be happy to have them do work for me again.

Let me just start by saying how efficient and respectful the owners are. They communicate thoroughly through every step and send pictures of the progress. The work they do is extremely professional and you can tell they know what they are doing. They are so talented and so committed to their customers. They will work with you and are very friendly and punctual with everything they do. I will always call them for any of my home needs and remodeling when I need it. Phil and Tricia are the best and easiest team to work with! They were super responsive and willing to get things done in ways that best met our needs. We recently had the pleasure of working with them for mold and water remediation in our attic and basement. From the moment I called them, their team was responsive and professional. They arrived promptly, like within an hour after we called, assessed the situation thoroughly, and immediately got to work. The quality of their work was outstanding. They effectively addressed the water damage and removed all the mold, ensuring our house was safe and clean. They also kept the work site clean and safe for the entire time. The finish look of the preventive care is amazing; the basement looks so neat that it’s good for direct living. Throughout the process, they kept us informed on every step and costs, and offered valuable advice on how to prevent future issues. They even went above and beyond touched up spots we found in the rest of the house where mold might be growing, and sharing advice on how different areas of the house can potentially be improved.They also took care of all the insurance work and took extra efforts in helping us prepare all necessary proof and materials to go through the claim process. We were particularly impressed by their attention to detail and the care they took in handling the situation. Craftsman Home Remodeling did an excellent job on our pool deck.! Phil, the owner takes pride in ownership of his business and told us he would build our deck as if it were his own. And he DID ! The workmanship was above and beyond our expectations. Phil worked closely with the Town to obtain the permit as there are many requirements that had to be met. If we had questions, Phil was very patient to answer and explain anything that we asked. We requested a change to add some additional composite material after the start of the project, and Phil was more than willing to accommodate us. He and his employee Doug showed up every day as promised, were courteous, neat and most of all built us a top notch quality deck that we will enjoy for years. Thank you for a great experience Phil !

We had an unexpected water damage in our home, and we can’t say enough good things about Craftsmen. They responded immediately to our call and had a team at our house in no time. The water remediation process was handled with remarkable efficiency and care. They thoroughly dried out the affected areas, removed damaged carpets and drywalls and shelves, treated any growing mold, waterproofed the space to prevent future water damage or mold growth. The entire process was 100% transparent, and they kept us updated all the time.But their work didn’t stop there. If you’re looking for a one-stop-for-all kind of service they are definitely the team. They’re very knowledgeable and professional, they provide a wide range of services covering most of home improvement needs. We found water damage/mold issue on a few spots of the subfloor and cabinet, they helped inspect and treat the spots free of charge. They also have team to install bathroom vents for us, and gave advice on any questions we had. Full 5 stars for everything.

I had my old porch torn down and a new one rebuilt by Craftsman Home Remodeling in fall 2023. The before photos dont show how dilapidated the porch was and the after photos dont known how beautiful the new porch is. They even went over things they were hesitant about (such as my walkway not lining up and if I needed it torn up first-- and I honestly dont care much at this time).Key components I like about this company:- Quotes on the spot. They bring their pamphlets with them to go over material costs. There arent any games or hidden costs, its very transparent.- Significant experience from both the father and son. Everything is safe, and up to code as well as my own personal standards- You get on the schedule first come, first serve (they fill up quickly). They seem to work all the time, bearing weather.- They have a vision for what is being created. They ask about the small details and they tie in important features.- They go above and beyond. For example, we had old siding in our garage and they were able to use it in the design to make it look like our porch has always been there (direct quote from my neighbors).Considerations:- It is expensive. However, having gone with a different company for our roof/skylight that did not do the little things, I can appreciate the detail that comes with that expense- They do book up fastI dont really have any complaints, to be honest. I find them very direct, creative, and knowledgeable.

Phil and team are true craftsman. We had a complicated wood deck that we wanted to update with Trex. We got 5 different quotes. Instead of sending a sales guy over, Phil came and was by far the most knowledgeable and share valuable advice. He was also onsite doing the work. Their pricing is very fair and they are very detailed orientated when doing the work. Very pleased with how our deck came out and their ability to work with our custom need.

Both Phils, Trish, and Nick as well as the others who came to install my door the last day, have been wonderful throughout the process. I was so happy to find someone willing to work on my job after searching for a long time. It turned into a more involved project, with more extensive mold than I hoped, but Im very happy with their work. They ended up having to rip out all the walls, ceiling, and insulation in my family room, and treating all the mold, but were able to not have to rip out the floor. They have great attention to detail and offered options where possible to save me money while still properly dealing with my mold problem correctly. I would hire them again for any future jobs.

I highly recommend the decking team from Craftsman Home Remodeling. The company founder - Phil Sr. - was there from start to finish. He wrote up the quote and he was there every day to oversee the project and make sure both my wife and I were happy as the project progressed. As context, we had a large multi-level deck that had become dangerous to walk on because of weak and rotting wood planks due our upstate weather and direct exposure to the sun. We wanted a complete replacement of the existing PT wood surface with new composite decking material, three sets of stairs rebuilt, as well as solider boarding along the entire base rather than the cheap lattice work the prior owner used. Additional, the team designed and constructed a 12x20 roof, thats connected to our house over a portion of the deck, so we can now be outside and enjoy the view of our pool and beautiful backyard no matter the weather. Its worth noting that as they progressed, structural issues were uncovered and Phil was extremely communicative and let us know each issue immediately, outlined possible options, and executed the solution at a reasonable cost. The decking team was extremely hardworking and knowledgeable. Bottom line, we are thrilled with the final outcome on this project - we received superior quality at a great price. We WILL hire them again and have recommended them to our friends and neighbors! Their family business will restore your faith and confidence in locally-owned and operated contractors!

They were beyond professional and responsive as they helped us understand the process of mold remediation. As the job continued, Phil and Tricia paid close attention to detail and found that there was more mold than anticipated. Tl;dr: I cannot recommend Craftsman Home Remodeling highly enough, for any and all mold remediation needs!Phil and his family were consummate professionals as they worked tirelessly to completely address an emergency mold problem we discovered in our bathroom and attic two weeks ago. When the mold inspection report found toxic black mold, Phil and his wife Patricia took time off on their Saturday morning to quote an excellent price for the work. Little did we know, they had also come prepared to start containment on the area, and by Noon that day our living space was completely sealed off from the mold infesting our bathroom walls. Over the next week, they uncovered every inch of mold there was to find, not only in the bathroom, but in an attic space above that had previously been poorly encapsulated and ventilated. By the fourth day of work, they had completely removed all of the insulation in our attic, fully killed and encapsulated the mold down to the last hyphae, and generously scrubbed our air round the clock to make sure we were breathing easy while they worked. They were extremely courteous and respectful of our living space, leaving our stairway and entryway immaculately vacuumed at the end of each day, and diligently protecting our hardwood floors from dings and scratches as they worked. When we first spoke with him, Phil assured us that he treats every project as if he were working on his own home, and it REALLY showed over the course of the project! He also went out of his way to recommend trusted contractors to complete the insulation and remodeling portions of the work, which were outside the scope of what they could reasonably work into their busy work schedule for us.With Craftsman, we were made to feel like family in just a few short days, and there is no doubt that I will be hiring them again should I ever find another trace of mold in my house.

I am a very meticulous individual who prefers to do all of the home projects myself. About 15 years ago I needed some trim work done and I liked the ad I saw for Phil Zona at Craftsman. The quality of work done far exceeds my expectations. I have since used Craftsman for some siding work, a new roof, gutters, and have recommended them to my parents for their new roof. Every job was done with the utmost care and precision. They treated every job, big or small, like it was done at their own house. Their workmanship is outstanding and they are very neat. That is a trait that you dont always find in a contractor anymore. I am very pleased with every job Craftsman has done for me and will continue to call them for jobs that I dont want to tackle myself. With 2 young grandchildren, an ailing brother-in-law and a 40yr old house, I thought now was as good as time as any to have our ducts cleaned. For an average size house it took about 4hrs and it was worth every minuet. Just seeing the dirt, pet hair, drywall, and other contaminants about an inch thick on their filters afterwards, convinced us we made the right decision. These guys were professional, easy to work with, and answered all my questions.A few years earlier we had them install new siding and replace our gutters. The workmanship was top notch and the house looks better than ever.

When I initially called the company (later than business hours) Philip the owner called me back immediately… we set up a time to inspect the mold and water damage I’ve been worried about. He was on time ; took the time to listen to the issues I was showing him. He spoke in detail explaining my options and inspecting the three areas of concern. He then guided me thru my options : not having unlimited funds of what was best for me to test for.. I felt he cared and had concern for my health. We tested the area that came back positive. He had a assessment via email to me within 2 days along w the mold report. I didn’t think it would be done so quickly and was impressed w his diligence. He has offered and recommended other to the remediation. Along with his support in presenting this to my landlord. I would use him again in a heartbeat. I’ve called a few times as questions arise he has continued to take his time to answer. He is available!!! .

They came to our rescue when a pipe burst on Christmas Eve. Industrial fans and dehumidifier were set up and all cords and tubing were taped down. Insurance company later informed us that all wet drywall and insulation should have been removed first in order to dry out wall cavities. We learn as we go. Nice family business.

Second, I highly recommend Craftsman Custom Design (Phil Zona) for doing excellent air duct cleaning at a reasonable price.Air duct cleaning is a real need: Im the first homeowner for my 17-year-old house. Gradually, my wife and I experienced increasing symptoms of dust, such as post-nasal drip and sneezing. Other family members are even more sensitive, and when they visit, always experienced watery eyes & sneezing. I began to think it might be dust when I looked at the air in sunlight and saw lots of particles. But I was unsure, after all we keep a clean house, we have the house regularly cleaned and dusted, and I change my furnace air filters every 3 months, using the best filter I can find. Nevertheless, I became more convinced of dust in the ducts when I started sneezing next to a return vent recently.Then I searched the Internet; I discovered that many people say that air duct cleaning is a scam & unnecessary, especially in a house as young as mine. I was genuinely confused by these ideas that seemed to contradict my sneezing. So I decided to perform a simple test: I removed the air ducts in the basement and carefully put my hand into the main supply ducts and slid my fingers around the bottoms. I was immediately convinced of the need for cleaning: a thick coating of very fine gray dust coated my fingers. Performing the same sort of test upstairs with the cold air returns on the floor, I saw even worse dust in these areas, and while sticking my head near these returns, I started sneezing repeatedly. Im not sure why there is such divided opinion on the Internet, but I am convinced that dust in air ducts is real & needs cleaning.At that point I decided to get several estimates. I contacted 5 contractors. The main question they asked was how many total ducts, supply and return, do you have? I have 27 ducts. Three contractors gave me an estimate over the phone, and 2 came to my house (Phil and his dad were one of the 2). The estimates were: $1015, $905, $780, $700, and $550. Phils estimate was right in the middle: $780; the other contractor who came to the house was $1015. This was remarkable: 5 estimates that ranged by almost $500.What about competence? I asked each contractor how they did their cleaning. The other 4 gave me very incomplete answers (they stick a rotor brush up there) with little explanation, or did not seem to respond well to my questions (e.g., what kind of brush? how do they get to the corners? how often do I need to clean my ducts?). Phil spent the time to give me an Masters degree in air duct cleaning. He first drilled a hole in my return duct in my basement, stuck an optic fiber up there, and showed me the even heavier coating of dust, this time of a coarser variety than in the supply duct (returns are always dirtier than supply, because dust comes into them from the house and is filtered by the filter, but very fine dust still passes through). Phil gave me information to check on the Internet, and answered all my questions thoroughly. I learned there are 2 methods: rotor brush and abatement technologies. One uses much more expensive equipment and does an excellent job; the other is less effective. He clearly knew his business and what he was talking about. None of the other contractors, sad to say, inspired this sense of confidence in me (a person who asks lots of questions and wants to understand).After thinking about it a day, I called Phil. He came by and gave me a written estimate. We all had a friendly chat--these Zonas are a happy, friendly sort. I instinctively trusted them.Today, they came and cleaned the ducts. The process lasted about as long as they estimated, & they cleaned up everything afterwards. The ducts look great. My wife and I are sitting here & we notice the improvement in air quality. And not sneezing.

Removed mold from attic surfaces and then sealed attic surfaces. Diagnosed the cause of mold problem, which was poor attic ventilation combined with moisture from bath fans. To prevent future problems the attic ventilation was improved by installing baffles in the eaves, and the attic moisture was eliminated by installing roof vents for the bath fans. The work involved sophisticated/caustic materials and corresponding procedures, including control/confinement of airflow from attic and out upstairs window. Job was efficiently completed in two days. The team was knowledgeable, professional and personable. Total cost was about $5k for 800 sqft attic.

We couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of work done by Phil and Tricia. They were very quick in coming out to consult on our mold issue, and equally quick to get started on the job and complete the work. I then complimented our customer and asked who had done the work to there home?They had told me that a company by the name of Craftsman Custom Design had preformed the work.Now this being said...... I felt that the Craftsmanship and Quality of the work was pretty much as close to pristine as you could get. Believe me! I am huge on perfection!I was in the market to have some work done on my home. I contacted Craftsman Custom Design and asked a little information about them without them being aware that I was a contractor myself. They seemed well educated and very friendly to deal with.So I then had them out to give me and estimate. Turns out they get into a wide variety of jobs.I needed new Siding and Windows.Well the estimate went well. I didnt feel like I was lied to in any way. They gave me a chance to explore my options, made some great recommendations and at the end of the day the price was reasonable. Not to mention I had gotten 4-5 other estimates.I had them do the work. They were prompt, professional and had the manpower to get the job done in a timely fashion. I critique everything! All in all.... I really had nothing to say but.....Nice Job! They even did extra work to my home for efficiency! I was very pleased with the service and would recommend Craftsman Custom Design to EVERYONE! Thanks again!
