We had a fantastic time working with Ryan and his team. His attention to detail and his craftsmanship was evident from the first meeting. His communication was always clear and he got back to us quickly every step of the way. He facilitated contact with the countertop company which made that part of the process feel seamless as well. We felt as though he cared about this project just as much as we did. Our kitchen island now looks like it was always meant to be there and we couldn’t be more thrilled. We are already excited for the next project!

Ryan built a TV Cabinet for me - the kind that has a lift that raises and lowers the TV into and out of the cabinet. Ryan and his team built us a fantastic library in our uneven antique house this past spring, and helped transform how we live in our home. Communicative, helpful, always going above and beyond when old house issues popped up, and very tolerant of my small children and large dogs. I proposed the idea to Ryan to build a custom-fitted cabinet with pull-out trash and recycling in the unused built-in desk space in our kitchen. Ryan came over, took some measurements, and sent over a bunch of ideas and options to choose from. He was very upfront about the price and fair every step along the way. He also maintained consistent communication providing updates and was extremely professional throughout the whole process. Ryan was able to match the rest of my kitchen cabinets almost exactly and you cannot even tell that the cabinet was put in after the rest of them. We were extremely pleased with the quality of work performed and you can tell Ryan takes pride in getting the job done right. We cannot emphasize enough how pleased we are and would recommend Chestnut Ridge for any of your custom wood-working needs! Thanks again Ryan!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! Ryan and his team’s work to create stunning built-ins with LED lighting far exceeded my expectations in every way possible. From his wonderful communication to his impeccable craftsmanship, Ryan knocked this project out of the park. He provided a super reasonable timeline and ultimately provided us with something that looked even better than the inspiration photos I originally shared with him. I contacted Ryan about renovating our closet. I was looking for a custom built unit/setup to replace our basic reach-in closet in the master bedroom. I have become skeptical of the quality of the mass produced online options, and I thought going with a custom build locally would better suit our wishes/needs.From the first contact email, Ryan was a breeze to deal with! His communication was always prompt and thorough. He never flinched at answering my questions, no matter how dumb they were (this was our first time with this kind of build.) And when we wanted to tweak the initial drawings, he was really helpful in helping us get the design we loved.His timeline/scheduling was honest and he kept me in the loop when his schedule opened up and moved the build up a month.He kept in contact with emails almost daily during the build at his shop, and was considerate to swing by and grab the drawer pulls off our front porch while we were out of town.Installation went smoothly over a day and a half. Ryan really made sure the unit and new hanging bars were top notch and looked great in the space. On the 2nd day before walking away, he performed some touch ups on the stain and put all the finishing touches in place. He really made sure it looked great and you could tell he put his all into it!I would recommend Chestnut Ridge to all my friends and co-workers in the area! If you want a great catalog worthy piece for yourself, and are skeptical/tired of the big box kind of places; treat yourself with Ryans craftmanship! You wont be disappointed.

Outstanding Experience, Quality and Workmanship!We had a solid wood bedroom set that we bought when my wife and I first married - but that was 30yrs ago - so the honey gold coloring was a bit dated to say the least. We contacted several potential companies to refinish and Ryan was by far the most impressive from his interactions with us, including providing suggestions on options for coloring (we chose a combination of painting and staining) , to his methods for applying (he sprayed on the coloring - so no brush stokes!).During the process he stopped by our house multiple times with samples of paint and stain helping us settle in on our final choice. He came and picked up the furniture- being very careful to make sure they were handled with care.And then - the final product came - and we couldn’t wait to tear off the bubble wrap! Wow - we couldn’t have been happier! Outstanding quality - like it came straight from the factory and was brand new! And the color choices he helped us with turned out to be super impressive! We couldn’t have been happier with the whole experience and the resulting product. If you have any refinishing work needed you can’t go wrong with Chestnut Ridge and Ryan, simply the best!

I had contacted Ryan about building a cabinet to hold all of my vinyl records and record player. I sent some examples of what I was looking for, and he was happy to work with me on exactly what I wanted including color, finish, materials, and price range. He was professional, accommodating, flexible, and took the time to explain anything I had questions on. The cabinet came out wonderfully! Not only does it function as it should, it looks amazing. The level of detail, exact yellow color, and satin finish style are all exactly what I was hoping for. I couldn’t be happier with experience and finished product. I’ll certainly be commissioning Ryan for another piece of furniture in the near future.
