    As usual, excellent service. Nate explained what was needed to solve various problems and issues. I was then able to make good decisions that would work best for me. Good communication was provided throughout the job. All the staff were very pleasant and easy to interact with.Ive used Shocking Difference before for smaller jobs and this big job was done with the same precision, skill, and pleasant staff. Plus the cost seems reasonable....which is always welcome.Thank you!

    Wow. These folks are great. They arrived in their time window, listened and looked. After going over the trip few and the immediate costs, which we gave the thumbs up, they evaluated our electrical problem and performed an 11 point inspection. Once completed they politely and professionally went over our electrical in detail (broken up into inside, outside, areas etc) and how our house rated. We were happy it wasn’t all F’s. The D’s were not a shock. They very politely went over the costs for different levels or repairs so we could choose what fit our needs and budget. We went with repairs and replacement that we needed and had originally called for. We also elected to have our breaker box updated and brought up to code. All choices were up to us. Once started they kept us in the loop and what all repairs (new wiring, replacement plugs and a new breaker and main switch- old 1979 box did not have this). Once the permits are cleared they will return and place the new box. We were extremely pleased with the service, professionalism and friendliness of our service electricians. Loved how we were kept in the loop every step of the way and how careful they were with our home, cleaning up behind themselves and being cognizant of how their work looked after completion. Extremely knowledgeable in their jobs which they obviously loved. 10/10 will hire them again for future wiring needed when we update our Master bath. See photo of electrician keeping me updated.

    Jared made two visits. Both visits were on time, prompt, courteous and professional. The first visit he gave us an inspection and a bid for the work we requested, which was reasonable. He offered to start right away. He was happy to reschedule and let us pick and choose the repairs we wanted from his bid the previous week. In and out quickly, quietly, and cleanly. Well done. Highly recommended.

    Zeb and Mo came to my house last week to do some electrical repairs. This was the first time I had used Shocking Difference and I was glad I did! I was referred to them by a friend who had had a good experience with the company, too.Zeb and Mo were very pleasant and professional - the job was done in no time at all - they even stayed longer to answer some questions and write up an estimate on the spot for some other work Im hoping to have done.I appreciated their speediness in problem-solving and repair - they definitely have the knowledge and expertise to determine why something wasnt working and then fix it quickly.Theyll be coming back in a few weeks to tackle my other electrical projects!

    Zeb did a great job performing a site visit and formulating solutions for a residential emergency generator system for my home. He added up loads, assessed the existing electrical system, and evaluated siting and other needs for the proposed system. He also provided reasonable pricing for his solutions at the conclusion of his site visit. Zeb’s performance, solutions, and pricing bespeak of an electrical specialist and a contracting company ready to do the best work possible.

    Jacob and Yaser (forgive me if I spelled the name wrong) were helping us with the project.We needed to replace a large chandelier in the area where the ceiling was very high. We also needed to fix a 3 way switch that didnt work.It was a visit to access the work that needed to be done and we didnt expect it to be taken care of right then, so we were very happy to find out that everything could be done right away!The guys did a fantastic job and were a pleasure to work with.Looking forward to having this team back for other pending projects.Thank you!

    Jared and Mo from Shocking Difference did a great job. They arrived when they said they would and gave a heads up that they were on their way.I was stumped trying to replace a 48 fluorescent fixture in our kitchen. Jared explained what the charges would be in advance, depending on the complexity of the job. And Mo did a complete safety check of our home. The safety checklist is done as a gratuity in all their jobs. If they find a safety issue, Shocking Difference will give you a quote for fixing it. I was very happy with their work.

    Great and fast service! They were able to replace the baseboard heaters in my upstairs TV room within a couple days after I called. The work was done professionally. This is the second job Shocking Difference has done at my house. I cant recommend them enough.

    Shawn and Mo arrived soon after the anticipated time, were neat, courteous and knowledgeable. They spent 2 1/2 hours assessing the task of installing an outdoor lamp/post and performing an extensive evaluation of our home electrical system. I’m very impressed and plan to go ahead with part of what they listed. There was no high pressure to buy, just solid evidence on why I should do some of the things they listed. Sometimes when you read reviews of a business that feel almost too good to be true, it can feel suspicious, but SD delivered beyond my expectations, despite me having a mild scheduling mishap earlier in the day. I wont look anywhere else for work in the future.

    AMAZING! I love this locally owned company. They are professional, efficient, friendly, organized and very competent at what they do. My Tesla charger stopped working and it was over a year since they put in the electrical system so I figured it was out of warranty. Much to my surprise when I called them I found out that I was still in warranty! They have an extremely generous warranty on their work which is 3 years for regular customers and 5 years if you are a club member. The owners are good people who hire good people. They might be more expensive than other companies, but they are worth the extra cost. I would not use anyone else for my electrical work.Thank you!

    Shocking Difference has been providing electrical upgrades to our home since 1996. Most recently, Tyler Dancer and Yasser Dunn were part of the team that rewired our detached garage. We have always appreciated the advise, expertise and service we have received from the folks at Shocking Difference. This time was no different. The new garage wiring looks great. Even the inspector from the City of Olympia was impressed and complemented the work Tyler and Yasser did.

    I ordered the Ring Doorbell Camera for my front door, and the Ring Security Camera with Light for above my garage, from Amazon. I’m clueless when it comes to installing electronic devices. So, I searched Google and Yelp for local electricians.I read about Shocking Difference’s history: they’ve been serving South Puget Sound communities since 2006. Their electricians are licensed and they attend continuing education classes. They warrant their work three years on labor. They also do an overall inspection of electrical circuitry throughout your home.I called and inquired for an appointment on a Monday. Brent answered my call and asked if I’d be available the next day. I said yes. My appointment was set at 11 AM - 1 PM Tuesday. Tuesday morning, I received a text message from SD, asking if I’d be available at 8 AM. Journeyman electrician, Jacob Johnson arrived shortly. Jacob was friendly and eager to complete the task! I informed Jacob what I wanted to be done. Jacob went into the attic to see the electrical wiring. He then worked on an estimate. Given the amount of work required to complete the tasks, I was given what I felt was a fair estimate. Jacob called for another electrician to assist him. Apprentice electrician Jordan (I don’t know his last name) arrived, and they started to install the doorbell camera at the front door, and the security camera above the garage. The job took just under four hours. Both Jacob and Jordan helped me with the Ring Application on my iPhone. They took their time and I never felt rushed.Brent was very pleasant when he took my call for the appointment. Both Jacob and Jordan are very skilled electricians and I am very pleased with their work product. I highly recommend Shocking Difference electrical contractor!Ernie GinesLacey, Washington state

    Arrived when promised, worked hard all day to install a new service box and grounding system, clearly communicated with me and kept me informed as they encountered some unexpected issues such as dry rot behind the old panel and an unacceptable section of conduit that needed to be replaced, and let me know what to expect with regards to the state inspection.     A very positive experience with Shocking Difference this morning to address a concern I had about whether I had a failing circuit or electrical line. The technicians were very professional and explained everything very clearly. They did an inspection of my breaker box, checked a number of outlets and gave me recommendations on what updates I may want to do, and maintenance tips for my electrical system. Kudos to the crew that came out!The only reason that this review is not a 5 star review is that the pricing was really opaque. I asked about call-out charge, and was told it was $69. Thats fine. But on arrival, I was told that the work would be either Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 depending on time and effort. I ended up with a Level 1 service, and that was a flat $387 charge. This pricing structure was not explained in my call to make the appointment, and I believe it should have been explained at the point that I asked about how much the initial charge would be.Other than that, I was very satisfied. I just think more transparency about the pricing bands should be shared.

    Shocking Difference electrical service is extraordinary! We scheduled an upgrade of a 40 Amp range circuit to a 50 Amp circuit. We scheduled ~ 5 weeks in advance and were really pleased to get a service date that suited us perfectly. The front end, administrative, scheduling staff used email and text msg to to keep us informed. Replacing an existing circuit is not such an easy task when working in a tight attic / roof line. The circuit upgrade of removing type 8 wire and pulling type 6 wire was done by Zeb and Roderick; every phase of the work was completed in stellar fashion! Both are totally professional, highly personable, and rightly fully confident in the work they do! We came away feeling we received nothing less than premium service; the cost was reasonably respectful for the excellent level of work.

    Jared led a team to our house to do a general electrical check up, check our automatic emergency generator, and bid on replacing two malfunctioning wall heaters. They were very thorough, left the place as clean as they found it, and provided a lot of information on our houses systems and safety. I have used Shocking Difference before and will use them again. When they arrived to do the work I was surprised by the crews demeanor. Not only was everyone professional, they were positive and had great energy amongst each other. You can tell the employees love to work for this company! I had a last minute hard stop at 4pm and was surprised that Zeb was able to summon additional crew members to get it all done in one day!     We own a rental property in Olympia but reside in MA. It is generally difficult to manage services, repairs, and improvements from this distance, but Shocking Difference is an exception.     Had an exterior outlet installed and the electrician, Ethan, ended up checking out another issue I was having in my garage. Within 5 minutes he figured out the issue and provided a solution. This is after a previous company failed find the problem.Ethan was amazing and went out of his way to check out the garage issue even though that was not job he was there for. I have had 3 different electricians out to for various things and he was by far the best.The company is upfront with their prices and are very fair/affordable. It nearly cost me the same to have Ethan find and fix my garage issue as it did to have the previous company to come out and fail to find the issue. I am very happy with the service and will be using Shocking Difference going forward as well as recommending them to family and friends.

    Shocking Difference has become our go-to contractor for all things electrical. Their thoughtful analysis and high-quality work always makes a positive difference in our home. In our most recent project today, Tyler, Yasser, and Darrell replaced the old knob and tube wiring in our living room ceiling, and replaced the old, failed light fixture with a new one in our 91-year-old home. Several years ago, Shocking Difference did all of the electrical work in our full upstairs remodel. Since then, we always call this excellent company for all of our electrical needs.

    They came out for a bid on a large project for my house. I need overhead lighting installed in most rooms. I am very impressed with the communication and professionalism. I received both email and text confirmation after scheduling an appointment. The electricians arrived right on time. They listened to all our wants and even helped us brainstorm some areas we were undecided on. Their input was very helpful and informative. They were very respectful throughout the whole process. They were able to provide an itemized estimate before leaving (which was amazing. Ive worked with other electricians where it can take days for an estimate and it was not itemized) and they talked us through the estimate in person. I love that they start the estimate with worst-case scenario prices, and if the job ends up being less challenging, the final price will be reduced. That is so helpful for planning a budget. Their prices are very reasonable as well!

    We just had a power pole for our mobile homes electric meter replaced by Shocking Difference. Im so glad I discovered them and went with their bid. The pole next to our house was rotten, and I had been frustrated trying to figure out a company who could replace it. I finally decided that because electricians have to be involved, maybe they already expertise to take care of the pole, or knew contacts who could. Shocking Difference had good reviews and good recognition from the community for their performance so I gave them a call. The response to my request was quick. Zeb came out and gave us a bid. He was both friendly and knowledgable and able to give us a quote on the spot. He said that they were very familiar with the work needed and would be able to take care of it. The price was much higher than I anticipated, but that was because our electrical service was about 50 years old, and had to be brought up to current code if it was going to pass inspection. So it wasnt just changing out an old pole and putting the meter and service wires back.Shocking Difference was able to schedule the work quickly. They coordinated the work with a heavy equipment company and Puget Sound Energy, and got the permits. The work took a whole day, but they got it done and did it well. Zeb and Yasir were great.     My wife and I recently purchased a portable generator for our home. We wanted more detailed information and decided to use Shocking Difference LLC for the installation and use/training of the Firman 10,000 watt portable generator. Shocking Difference electrician Ethan Dobbs evaluated our home’s power needs (in the event of a blackout), researched the various brands/models, and gave us an estimate for the installation. He answered all of our questions and he (along with his apprentice, Yussir) modified our electrical fuse panel, installed an outdoor cable plug for the generator, and showed us how to attach the cable to the generator and suggested we use propane gas as the fuel.Our generator will arrive on October 30th, and Ethan will show us how to operate, fuel, and connect the generator to our panel.     I had them install a Tesla wall charger in a detached garage. The existing panel was too small & had to be upgraded.Shawn Karreci was excellent to work with. I had also wanted some changes done to my stand alone generator. Shawn explained that my generator did not have the capacity needed to add the wall charger. I also wanted my garage door added to the generator. This could not be done due to the adjacent shop & too much amperage needed. However, he suggested an alternate solution, a garage door with back up battery during outages.This was a big job.     I have to say that this was hands down, the absolute best experience we have ever had with a professional service company in Olympia. The electrician, Zeb, was on time and friendly. He listened to us and walked us through every thing he was doing. He was upfront about pricing and helped us prioritize the work that needed to be done as well as giving us an in depth look in to improvements we could make to our electrical system in the future. We recently purchased a 110 year old home, and while the system had been upgraded in the 80s, there were still some kooky things going on we needed insight into. The electrician understood that I wanted to learn more about how our new home works and explained everything thoroughly without hesitation. The problems we were facing ended up having relatively easy solutions and the costs were beyond reasonable. He fixed things quickly and also gave a lot of insight as to how our future projects could be done with little modification to our current system. I feel so much better about moving forward with the restoration of our new old house. I cannot say enough about how respectful, knowledgeable and patient this gentleman was.     My family recently moved into a home in the area. The previous owner fancied himself a DIY aficionado. He was not. Wiring was not done properly or safely, and there was limited redundant safety measures. They completed a big chunk of the work that needed to be done in a matter of a couple hours. Not that the time matters for the cost because they don’t charge hourly. Overall I am more than happy with the result. I ended up signing up with their preferred client program which offers things like same day service, emergency calls, etc. The team they have is providing quality service in an area where that can hard to come by at times. Worth every penny.Last note for the company. The training the tech was receiving during the call also instilled confidence in your service. No ego. No frustration. They definitely showed that you want your employees to be on point and to ASK if they don’t know.
