I had such an amazing experience working with Uploft! The design firm was highly recommended by a friend and work colleague who is very particular about interior design. After taking a questionnaire and speaking with Emily, I was quickly matched with Paulina for my consultation. Paulina was extremely detail oriented, thoughtful, attentive, and she kept my interests and budget in mind. We even had a few giggles about my very monochromatic color-scheme for the apartment. My reveal call was amazing. Again, Paulina kept my interests and budget in mind to help me find affordable ways to create a warm environment for my living space.The real work began during the furniture delivery stage. I was incredibly anxious about my deliveries, and was in CONSTANT contact with the design team. Royhana - gosh bless her - was the point person for my account. Royhana was such a saint. She was patient, considerate, and provided immediate responses regarding my inquiries.I am now in the lets just put everything in the apartment together phase, and Uploft couldnt be more amazing. I reached out to the design team with many woes, and Sarah - gosh bless her too! - immediately sent a form for me to have handymen help me with the assembly process.Long story short? This interior design firm is AMAZING. As you can see from the number of stars I gave in my review, I am happy with my choice to work with Uploft. I would work with them again in the future.

Affordable Interior Design was great in our needs. We were upgrading to a new apartment with a much larger foot print. Between renovations, work, kids, we knew we did not have time to deal with design and furnishings on our own. After an initial meeting with Megan we opted for the 3 room in person design service.Our assigned designer Stephanie met us at our new apartment and spent a great amount of time going over every little detail with us. From measuring the rooms and going over what our renovations will be, to listening to the concepts in our heads, she showcased her expertise and laid out a plan for how the space should look. Stephanie brought to the table things that we did not even consider and knew by heart how furnishing would fit in the space simply by knowing by heart how big/small some things were.At the end of the session, she went back and helped us put a beautiful mood board with the sourcing list of all of the things we had talked about together. During the reveal call, Stephanie walked through each individual item and gave the purpose and listened to our concerns. Since we live close to the stores that some of the items were sourced from, we visited in person to get a better idea of the different pieces. It makes much more difference seeing certain items in person and this is where we truly understood the intention our designer Stephanie had.I would recommend Affordable Interior Design as well as Stephanie to others. It is a great way that is affordable to plan out your space.

Allison was my designer and she is AMAZING! She really knows what she is doing. She pays attention to details, she listens and really is able to understand the vision that the client has in mind. Her turn around time for everything was excellent! If you emailed her, she responded right away. I asked her for several options and she always delivered with no hesitation. My apartment is cozy, warm and just amazing... now we are always hosting friends because we are so excited to share our lovely space with others. Affordable Interior Design is definitely a most! We are planning to buy a house in a year and I plan on reaching out to Allison & Betsy again.

I am very happy with my decision to use Affordable Interior Design and with Stephanie, the designer I worked with.First, the design questionnaire was excellent - especially for someone like me who doesnt know much about interior design. It was able to identify my design preferences by showing different living rooms and asking which ones were to my liking. In addition, its questions served as a great preparation for the home visit, so Stephanie came well prepared for our meeting.Stephanie was very creative, professional, and helpful throughout the process. When she visited my place, we decided on a design together, in an efficient process, where she was able to translate my needs and preferences to interior design decisions and furniture choices. After two weeks, she assembled a furniture shopping list, within the budget I requested. I purchased all items she suggested.The furniture items were sourced from many furniture stores and I felt she did an excellent job finding items that were beautiful, fit the overall design, and reasonably priced. I get nothing but compliments about my place (even from my Architect friend who is quite stingy with design related complements...). Well done Stephanie!As to the cost-effectiveness of the service - had I done this process myself (even with friends help), I would have surely spent more time, more money, getting worse results. Finally, the service was well structured and transparent. Good stuff overall.

So amazing. Paulina created a beautiful design that matched our aesthetic, and then Betsys team executed to perfection. It is shockingly affordable and provides unbelievable value, especially in NYC, where a well-done apartment often sells for 100k+ more. When accounting for their discounts, we saved money and got a professional design and implementation team. I thought designing a place myself was fiscally responsible but now im understanding this is the most optimal route

We had a great experience working with Allison and Affordable Interior Design. We needed help with space planning in anticipation of expecting our first baby in September. She spent 2 hours at our apartment looking at our space and came up with some great storage solutions and potential floor plans that would maximize our space. We went through our design taste and she came up with beautiful mood boards and a source list that perfectly suits us. We have already purchased several of the items she recommended and love the way our home looks!

We moved into a new apartment, were overwhelmed by all the choices involved with filling it with furniture and furnishings. To save time and decision fatigue, we engaged Affordable Interior Design, and worked with Paulina. We had a kickoff meeting with Paulina to discuss three rooms. To prepare for that meeting, my wife and I both created pinterest boards with examples of styles we liked. My wife prepared for the two rooms she cared most about, I prepared for my office. As you can imagine, our styles were quite different. Now, a few weeks later, after the goods that Paulina picked out for us have started to arrive, we can say that Paulina gets us! Weve been so happy with everything Paulina chose, and with the process. She did such great work that weve asked her to work on two more rooms in our house too. Its been a pleasure working with her.

We worked with Allison Rachlis to design our townhouse and are thrilled with the results. The whole process was great from start to finish and we found the price to be reasonable. Allison helped us figure out our style and used our inspiration pictures to find great pieces for our home. I highly recommend Affordable Interior Design. I recently moved into a new and larger apartment and was overwhelmed with all the choices there were. Paulina came and after discussing the space and my style she sent me mood boards and a shopping list of items that matched what I was looking for. I then had Paulina come back to mark where all the artwork would go on the walls. I also used their handyman services and found them to be very professional. I absolutely love Affordable Interior Design! I consulted with Betsy because my boyfriend and I had completely opposite ideas about how our apartment should look. She came up with a design scheme that had us both THRILLED! It suited both our personalities/aesthetics and complimented our unusual living space. I was so happy that I decided months later to work with her again on the bathroom and an additional room. She is incredibly considerate to budget and sourced items from the retailers that offer steep discounts when you move (something she brought to my attention that I hadn’t even considered!) People are wowed, but the space it doesn’t look “designed” - it just looks like we have amazing taste and a great visual sense. Can’t recommend this service highly enough!

Very professional and offered a lot of good advice on how to reorganize our space in order to maximize its use for our family. She has very good taste and her ideas address our needs. Our space feels much bigger and comfortable now. All our friends and families who saw how our new space got reorganized were impressed with the results. Thrilled with our experience from beginning to end. We worked with Betsy who is very knowledgeable and offered great ideas and suggestions on how to manage our space. The design plan reveal exceeded out expectations. Betsy nailed our style and created a cohesive look that we could never have achieved on our own. This was money well spent and really was affordable.Once you factor in the trade discount they get at many stores/sites and its an even better bargain. We did the 3 room package which included their in-house shopper to place orders. Also seamless and makes the ordering process absolutely painless. After moving into my new home, I decided that I would enlist the support of an interior designer/decorator to help me in pulling together the decor of my home. Being newer to the area, I opted to conduct my research online to find the right company/firm and voila I stumbled onto Affordable Interior Design. I was immediately drawn in by the amount of helpful information found on the website. As such, I scheduled some time to visit with the company. After a discussion about the services I chose to move forward and based on my location, the company designated Allison Rachlis as my designer. Fast forward a few weeks and Allison met with me at my home. We walked through the survey I completed along with the focus areas of my home. Through this process she kept me grounded about selecting pieces that would be functional for my home without sacrificing appeal. About a week later I met with Allison to walk through a source list that she created from our meeting. This list contained the items that I would purchase to decorate my home and best thing is that she put this list together based on my budget. She also provided me with a mood board to help me visualize the end result. Ive since then purchased several items and I am in the process of finalizing the decor of my home. I definitely would recommend the services from Allison at Affordable Interior Design to support anyone in the design/decor of their home. Lastly, Id like to point out that I found Allison to be customer centric and helpful even after the services were complete. Ive since sent her a few emails with some clarification questions and she always responds with her insight and advice. That being said, if you are looking for great customer service I’d definitely suggest you seek out Allison’s support for design/décor services.

The team helped us review what I had to see what would work in the new space, gave ideas help maximize the layout and look of the new apartment and gave us a vision board of items, ideas that were beautiful, cost effective and just want we needed. My designer came to the apartment, asked questions about our lifestyle and preferences and came back with a great plan - right down to links of where to buy items, all of which were budget friendly and from stores like Home Goods and Target. The design has helped us enjoy our time at our new smaller space, and helped find an interested buyer fast when we put it on the market. Highly recommend Affordable Interior Design!

We really want to express how very happy we were with Paulina Grzechnik. The chemistry between us and her was right from the moment she entered and we thoroughly enjoyed working with her. We are a couple with different tastes and she managed to navigate that so well, making us both very happy with the final product. She went out of her way to think through all possible options and ideas and we managed to find a solution to pretty much everything we had been grappling with. She clearly has great imagination and experience and we didnt feel like she was imposing anything on us. Rather, she helped us to understand some basic design rules and start from there. We have made great progress with our apartment in a very short time thanks to her and would warmly recommend her to anyone without hesitation.Overall, our experience with Affordable Design was excellent. They were responsive, helpful, practical, affordable and didnt disappoint in any regard. We will likely use their services again in the future. We are so happy with the design that Allison has created for us, within our tight budget. My husband and I recently worked with Betsy to design the living area and bedroom of our one bedroom rental. We had been living in a studio for a few years and it was time to upgrade. We were willing to part with most of our existing furniture and wanted to create a space that we looked forward to coming home to and would allow us to host friends and family.We started looking online and thought we had some great ideas in mind. After visiting a few furniture stores we realized we were going to overspend on furniture and it would not come together like all the pictures we had been seeing. We came across Affordable Interior Design and decided to reach out. They got back to us right away and we scheduled the onsite visit to work with Betsy. Before the onsite Betsy gave us a few questions to fill out and asked for a few pictures from online magazines that we liked to get a sense of our style and personality.During the onsite Betsy came up to our apartment and walked us through several layout options weighing the pros and cons of each. Once we decided on the layout we talked budget, furniture and measurements. Betsy provided exact measurements where all the furniture and wall hangings should be placed.After we finished our walkthrough Betsy said she would have our furniture picked out in a week. We scheduled a call with Betsy within the week as promised. During the call Betsy provided us with options for all the furniture we picked out going over why she picked out each item. The ending result is a living/dining room and bedroom that is comfortable, practical, stylish and a place we love coming home to everyday.

We used Kelsey Surock, and I cant say enough good things about her. She transformed our apartment, and stayed right on budget. I actually pushed in some instances to spend more, and she convinced me that the money could be better spent. The transformation has been much more than just an aesthetic thing. Were really enjoying our space so much more now that its laid out better. We had hardly been using the living room the last few years b/c it was dark and inhospitable. With Kelseys deft touch, were all hanging out there together (family with three kids), playing card games, reading, listening to music, and we even had a movie night this past weekend. Its amazing how making the space more pleasant has had so many fringe benefits.

Stephanie Naimer was the designer assigned to the job and she listened to my ideas and broke the work down into digestible pieces so it all made sense.Working with her made me understand that “decorating” isn’t what an interior designer does. An interior designer helps you look at the unit (whether house or apartment) first as a whole. And by looking at the architectural elements or taking stock of certain pieces you already own, you can use that as a base from which to design a place that not just suits you, but that you love coming home to.

I LOVE Affordable Interior Design! Ive used them already 3 times! The team did such an awesome job creating our dream design. They created an environment that was EXACTLY what I wanted even though I couldnt even tell you what I wanted to begin with. I really couldnt put a name to our style, but Betsy and her team made it happen. Its been a pleasure working with them as they find great items to fit my budget and make my apartment look super stylish! I spend so much time looking at interior design magazines, but could never get my home to look just so. I decided I needed professional help, and for a small fee, Betsy gave me a plan to follow. No need to measure windows and figure out curtain rods - Betsy did it all for me and then sourced tons of great, affordable furnishings. I love that I can order the things on my own and go slowly, knowing that once Im done, everything will go together perfectly. Every time I add something, my apartment looks more and more finished. Initially, I was hesitant to use the Virtual Transformation because my budget was fairly small, but I found that in working with Kelsey I actually spent a lot less than I would have on my own. She was really good at helping me decide where to spend what money and what I could save on.It was so great to consult with a professional who had an eye for what works together and what size furniture would work. The experience with Affordable Interior Design was great, and Kelsey Surock in particular was awesome. I recently needed someone like Kelsey for my clothes. In fact, I asked her to help me, and she respectfully declined.Here are the 3 main reasons that Affordable Interior Design rocks:1. The initial customer survey was great and didnt assume anything about my understanding of design. Yes, there were a few questions that I didnt understand. But what I loved was the part where they had me select pictures of things I liked and didnt like and explain why. That seemed to be enough to have them all get an initial idea of what I was like.2. Kelsey was articulate. When Kelsey was picking things out for me, she explained to me *why* she was picking them out. First she would say things like, you should have the couch here for space., Sit here for more light, etc... then for almost every item she selected for me, she said why she selected it: This lamp is tall and will match the height of the bed frame for balance, this green color is close to your preference and is great for accenting the the space here., etc.. That was helpful for me to appreciate why she picked what she picked.3. Kelsey was flexible. When I couldnt find something, or I wasnt excited about a particular piece, she replied with an alternative piece, and a reason why she picked it. Almost everything that she picked out, I got. She kept me within my budget and still made my apartment feel comfortable and welcoming..Seriously love these guys. I highly recommend them.

I loved Affordable Interior Design so much I used it twice. I worked with Betsy both times - first moving into a one bedroom from a studio and getting all new furniture, then moving into a new one bedroom with a totally different layout and re-using as much as possible.As a bachelor without design sense it was one of the best investments I could have made. It saved me so much time and anxiety about which pieces to pick and every single person who has visited has been amazed by how nicely decorated my apartment is.The process is exactly as described by other reviewers - introductory call, questionnaire, in home visit, and follow up call a week or two later with suggestions. Betsy was incredibly personable and easy to talk to. I was also impressed with how much her suggestions matched my style even though I didnt have the vocabulary to communicate it. Everything fit within my constraints and preferences and Betsy helped with follow up questions and suggestions as pieces came in and as I decided to swap out a few pieces.

Worked with Ashley on a kitchen consult. She helped me to be able to see the design more clearly. She gave me great ideas about the dining area and a flooring suggestion. The consult covered paint to backsplash to lighting and hardware. I already knew the cabinets I wanted so she was able to help with the backsplash color. Ashley is very easy to work with and very responsive to your needs. Once I get the kitchen renovations going I will be reaching to her.

This review is way overdue! We hired Betsy 4 years ago to design our one bedroom apt and she did not disappoint. We didnt have an idea of how we wanted our apt to look other than we wanted to be functional, wow our friends and not be broke after doing it. After a short questionnaire, Betsy (who has a great sense of humor) walked us through the entire process, told us exactly what to furniture/pieces to get and where to place it to get the look we were looking for all at a budget we were comfortable with. Every person who has come through our apt since has commented on how great our place looked, which shows that great design doesnt have to be expensive.We are now moving to a new 2 bedroom apt in the UWS and guess who is designing it?! We loved working with Paulina. She helped us reimagine our apartment in the first hour that she was there, without making us feel like we had made wrong design choices in the past. She was very flexible in her sourcing, providing us multiple options to fit our specific taste (quirky) and our budget.
