Our electrician, Josh arrived promptly and listened attentively to all my observations. He explained a couple options before starting any work which I appreciated. He changed out a bad GFI receptacle on the outside and a shorted and faulty light socket (the culprit) on the inside. He also checked all the breakers and provided a few estimates for future work to make our house safer. Josh was super knowledgeable and very pleasant. He answered all questions and solved the issue. We will definitely look to Lightning Bug for future needs. Thanks so much for the speedy and detailed service!

The best customer service and professionalism in the business! This company has provided me with electrical services for years because they are an extremely reliable and responsive company. I’ve used them for everything from ceiling fan installation to entire electrical upgrade (my home was built in 1960). After having a big name company come out and try to gouge me with their price, I called Lightning Bug.What I got was Peyton and Cameron. Two excellent electricians who fixed everything, highlighted a few other problems, AND refused to overcharge me. They stayed inside my budget and respected it. This is huge for me.For this alone, I will call Lightning Bug everytime I have need.They made my new home safe for my family and updated it to handle todays electrical requirements.I am seriously impressed with their knowledge and professionalism. Down to earth and dont play games to take advantage of people.And the fact they are veteran friendly was also a bonus.

Scheduling to have someone come quote what we wanted to do in less than 24 hours, very communicative on when the techs would arrive, arrived on time, even a little early, both techs were very friendly and introduced themselves, and extremely professional. Reviewed our ask and said they could handle the request right now, which we needed. Amazing that we did not have to reschedule!! The techs worked efficiently, carefully, and promptly. Were in and out in just a few hours. Exceptional service all the way through!

I had a new pendant lighting fixture installed. This was in an area where there was no previous fixture. So the electrician, Garrett, had to open up the ceiling drywall, run lines and create a new switch. His work was exemplary. He showed up on time, came into my home with shoe covers, walked me through everything he was going to do, and double checked to make sure the location where he was hanging the light was perfectly centered. His drywall cuts were clean, he cleaned all of the dust and covered my furniture. He replaced the drywall sections he cut so that I would not have gaping holes in my ceiling until I had the area repaired. From beginning to end it was a very professional experience. I’m pretty picky about who I let work in my home. I would not hesitate to have Garrett back for other projects or to recommend him to friends or neighbors. 5 star service all around!

I wish there was a 6th star! Lightning Bug Electric is doing business the old fashioned way...by treating you like a member of their own family. Our smoke detector began intermittent beeping while we were out of town (of course). My first and last impressions with Lightning Bug were simply amazing. First Impression: I called on a Friday at 4:30pm eager to resolve the issue the same day. The woman answering the phone was warm and welcoming and I was never once made to feel bad for calling so late in the business day. Last Impression: our electrician Michael came to the rescue. He was at the house within 45 minutes of contacting the Warm and Welcoming Lady. He had the issue corrected within 10 minutes and then...get this...offered his services FREE OF CHARGE. This is the best team of electricians Ive ever worked with! They are extremely meticulous and thorough, and take the time to patiently explain issues and possible solutions. I had the pleasure of working with Clay (the main point of contact) and also Jamal,Leighton,Cody, Alex,Robby and several others. Everyone was polite and friendly, and clearly experts at what they do (even drawing out circuit diagrams to help with the explanations!). What started off as a fan installation led to a fortunate discovery of some larger issues with our older home, and they worked around the clock to get everything up and running with minimal interruptions to my power. They work directly with the County inspectors who have now done 3 inspections and signed off on the work. I would use them for any electrical needs, and highly recommend them for any issue or project you have in mind.

I purchased a house last year that is from the 60s so it has a good deal of issues. I originally was gonna hire 2 separate companies to help me with my upstairs bath fan as well as some minor issues in the attic, but Jeff came out and knocked it all out. He honestly made it as easy as just opening the door, letting him fix everything in no time, and then showing me the pictures of the work he completed. I really cannot recommend this company (and Jeff) enough.

Lightning Bug Electric has done an AMAZING job of completing 3 different installs in our recently purchased/older home. The installers undid our mess with a ceiling fan because we first tried to install it ourselves and after we fumbled it, they didnt make fun of our attempt! ;-).***NOTE: please dont install if youre not licensed! Its not work the risk! Leave it to the professionals at Lightning Bug***They were able to correct it and its working great now!They also did a clean/neat/professional job of installing a car charger that is working perfectly. Finally, they did an AMAZING job of replacing our fuse panel/breakers, cleaned up and brought the fuse box wiring up to code. They patiently answered all of our questions and even offered suggestions on how to safely distribute appliances on the correct outlets. I called Lighting Bug Electric for a quote to install a generator transfer switch.The office was prompt with scheduling and called to let me know each time when a technician would be out and was on his way. Timing was accurate.Leo came out to give a quote. He looked everything over, listened to what we wanted, answered all our questions and made sound recommendations. I was very impressed with Leo and felt comfortable with the quote and his abilities. This wasnt our first transfere switch intall.I wanted Leo to do the install so I set up an appointment for install with him on the spot for the following week. Leo and Michael came out to do the install. Again the office called to let me know the were on thier way and would be arriving in about 35-40 minutes. I sat my Alexa for a reminder, they were exactly on time.The install was fast and efficient. Very little loss of power (inconvenience to me). Afterwards, Leo walked me through the operating process and again patiently answered all my questions. Michael whom Im assuming was his assistant was very pleasant and personable. Both were people you felt you could trust. They felt like *family doing the job, you knew you were in good hands.*Just FYI , my dad (who has passed) was a licensed electrician and had his own business. We were spoiled if we needed any electrical work, dad would do it. You know he was thorough. Im not an electrician but just growing up in the environment its easy to spot electricians that are sincere, knowledgeable, thorough and care. I highly recommend Leo and Lighting bug electric.

We lost a leg. That is the term that Georgia Power used. We had power in 20% of our house but not the rest. Our AC was part of the 80% that wasnt working. I called two electrical companies that handle the Marietta, GA area.I called Lighting Bug, and Mister Sparky around 7:30 am. After calling them both and getting the person who takes your information and gets you on the schedule, both said they would show up on the same day, but give me a call before they came.I figured whichever one came first was the one I would use. Tim from Lighting Bug, the owner of the Lighting Bug, called me for details. Tim told me to call Georgia Power and make sure it isnt on their end. Which means it is free if it was Georgia Powers issue. That meant a lot. I didnt even think about calling GP since it was only my issue and not the neighborhood.Mr. Sparky called and confirmed they were coming. I called Lighting Bug and got Tim. I told him I already had someone coming out. Tim said to take pictures of the electrical panel and contact him if I have any issues with Mr. Sparky.Mr. Sparky showed up around 4 pm. Their quote was $15,000! No joke! I sent them away and called Tim. He said the price would be $2,792 and that included everything, and they could get me on the schedule the next day. I did have to sign a quote agreeing on the price that evening.Sure enough, the following day, Steven from Lighting Bug arrived. They called first and sent me a text. Steven finished at 7 pm. He started around 10 am. He worked straight through, and now I have electricity and an excellent electrical panel.Steven was great! Ive added two before pictures - notice the corrasion on the old panel, and a two after pictures. Notice the labels inside the panel.

Jeffery performed an analysis and made recommendations to address building code changes since our house was built in the mid-90s, especially related to surge protection and additional grounding capability.He educated us on the options available to implement additional surge protection, and also what we can do to meet current code requirements. He was thorough and patient in explaining the details and giving us a plan for moving forward.

Originally I was hoping the hot tub company (Atlanta Hot Tub) would connect the whip, by they said they could not over the phone, so the electric company came back out and did it as part of the previous work. The breaker tripped again and Mac was dispatched. One of the exterior garage lights was faulty. Once I purchased a new set, Mac and his team member replaced the old ones. Wow! If I could give a 10-star rating, I would! Cody and Peyton came out one day to give us a quote on a fairly big job. They were professional, clean, and very well spoken. We scheduled the service, and they came out the next day (Griffin came out with Cody on day 2) and those gentlemen got right to work, were very efficient, and highlighted other areas of concern that we werent aware of. We were very grateful for those other areas being highlighted because we werent aware of a dangerous situation in our own home. They fixed that problem as well as our big job. We then asked if they could also add in a few smaller jobs, and they squeezed that in as well. Never been SO HAPPY with a service company before. They came when they said they would, updated us constantly on their progress and charged a very fair price. Every experience I’ve had with Lightning Bug Electric has been perfect. We recently moved into our forever home down the street, and wanted to swap out all of the old traditional light fixtures with new ones. So we bought a lot of new fixtures, and needed someone to install them all professionally. I reached out to Lightning Bug since I used them at our old house. Sam came out promptly after being scheduled to give us an estimate and after agreeing to it, he went to work. This was a multi-day job and Sam knocked out half of the fixtures on day one alone. On day 2, he brought Jamal to help him with some of the much taller replacements in the living room. By the end of it, they had completed everything to a T. They didn’t have time to check our doorbell and help us install it since it was late and I myself felt bad trying to keep them any longer. So after I paid, Sam quickly whipped up an estimate and sent it to me moments after he wrapped up the current job for our smart doorbell. I mean from the first visit until job completion, it was smooth sailing. They really do hire the best electricians.

Once again, Lightning Bug Electric proved themselves to be an outdated company. Very easy scheduling, great communication about the appointment with at least 2 confirmations prior to the electrician’s arrival. But the star hands-down was Peyton. He simply did a phenomenal job. He arrived on time, went through a detailed walk through with me about the work to be done, reviewed everything me, then provided a quote. No work was started until I reviewed it and confirmed. Then he went to work swapping out multiple switches for “smart” ones (ie app controlled)….not the most technically difficult job for someone with his skill, but we had several hiccups along the way for various reasons (none attributable to him), but he methodically problem solved each one. For brevity’s sake, I will just say that I was beyond impressed with his attention to detail, thoroughness, pleasant demeanor, willingness to explain what he was doing, and give me pointers on how to do a similar exchange on my own in the future. Based on some feedback I gave him about the set up I learned from another electrician at Lightning Bug (Chris) when he came out to my house in February, Peyton was also able to save me a few hundred bucks just my listening to suggestion. Despite the set backs, he never once acted like he was in a rush or needed to get done and move on to the next job. He stayed until all the work was done to my satisfaction and ensured everything worked the way it was supposed to.In short, I cannot say enough positive things about Lightning Bug Electric in general and specifically about Peyton. He is a stellar representative of your company and deserves to be applauded. This may not be the cheapest option out there, but I have ZERO doubt they are the BEST option. Do not hesitate to call them out if you need any electrical work done.

Sam at Lightning Bug went above and beyond. I called in late on Friday and he showed up quickly and worked 2 hours searching for the issue. They made sure to also clean up any drywall that may have fallen, covered shoes, etc. You would have never known they were here, other than the lights working perfectly again. Bottom line up front…this company treated us great and I highly recommend them. We recently bought a house with commercial grade federal pacific equipment that needed to be removed and replaced. We got quotes from 2 other highly rated companies for $16k and $12k from technicians who were either trying to scare us into rushing the job or sell us on things we didn’t need. Justin from Lightning Bug was very knowledgeable and communicated with me on everything that needed to be done, but more importantly WHY it needed to be done. Matt and Thomas (sorry I delayed this review and I’m not sure if it’s Thomas or not) did a great job over the 3 days they worked in our house. They were very thorough and explained everything, even saving us an extra ~$2.5k on a unique code that they had to look up for us. The whole job ended up at just over $6k for a full service upgrade, surge protection, grounding etc. - less than half of our lowest quote from the other guys! They also took the time to check and repair an outlet that was not grounded properly after a full day of work.Can’t say enough about LBE - from the office staff to sales to technicians, everyone was great. We will be using them for future electrical work.

Lightning Bug is great. Their quote was 35% of a competitor. Their work was thorough and they really went the extra mile. They offered some optional upgrades with a true soft sale tact that I appreciated. They showed me what everything would cost even as we changed the plan as we went. The entire process was great. My experience is that Atlanta lacks a customer service culture but Lightning Bug was a real exception to that.May 2024 Update:I had Lightning Bug come out again for some miscellaneous repairs and improvements at a new property. Steven, the Electrician that came out, helped us previously and was one again great. He was able to resolve a wiring issue I didnt want to touch with my DIYer skill set and did great work installing a new exterior outlet. Austin came out and determined that my home needed a full inspection to identify each area of concern before we scheduled any work. He arranged for Griffin and Steve to come the same day. Austin, Steve and Griffin left positive impressions on my sons and a daughter-in-law commented to me that based on their people, LBE seems to be a really good company. I agree. I keep calling LBE out because the work has been excellent, but frankly the price is too high. Probably worthwhile if you need a panel or new electrical run - for simple installations just hire a handyman (or risk paying $1200 for a fan, pendant light, 4 puck lights and a dimmer like I did).

Jeremy and Chris were awesome! They just completed full panel replacements for both sides of the duplex I recently purchased. Not only were both replacements done thoroughly and efficiently, they also helped troubleshoot shoddy electrical practices by the previous owner and helped put plans in place to remedy those issues. They ran into several difficulties getting the new panels in, and absolutely did the best job possible with the hand they were dealt. Id recommend them on their job skills alone, but this pair also comes complete with witty banter and one semi-legit mustache, so from here on out theyre the only electrical company Ill use or recommend. Lightning bug electric was great to work with! From the initial service scheduling, to the estimate, and completion of the work, it was an all around great job. I highly recommend this place. Our electrician, Scott, was able to come exactly when he said he would be here and was able to fix the problems right away. We had scheduled visit with multiple electricians over the past year who either never showed up or came for a consultation and didnt follow up. No consultation was needed with lightning bug; just show me the problem and he fixed it. I wish I had just called these guys first. The price was also much lower than what any of the other consultations quoted that did show. I called on Friday and its fixed Monday.Edit:Had them out again and they sent out Justin. Exact same treatment and professionalism. Thats pretty unheard of and its safe to say it really doesnt matter who you get, they are hiring the right people. The guy went above and beyond what I asked. I could not be more satisfied.

Cale and Steven H. were sent to complete the work I had contracted Lightning Bug Electric to do. The original tech could not make it out today so Cale and Steven H were sent in his place. Cale and Steven were nice and professional. They replaced two old lighting fixtures that were at the entrance of our community and installed new LED fixtures in their place. They installed a new photo cell controller to turn the lights on at dusk and off at dawn. Our old photo cell wasnt working properly and the lights stayed on all the time. They also installed an electrical outlet on the left side of the entrance where the previous contractor (many years ago) just left wires exposed and apparently never finished installing an electrical outlet. They also installed an outlet cover on the newly installed outlet to protect it from the elements and they sealed the outside of the box with caulk to prevent water from getting into the cracks behind the box. They also sealed up (with caulk) the existing outlet on the right side of the entrance to also prevent water from getting behind it and causing damage.Cale and Steven H were great. I am very pleased with the work that was done today. Cale even showed me the work that was completed and demonstrated the lights and how to adjust them if needed. He also showed me the photo cell controller and covered it up and then uncovered it to show the lights would come on at night and shut off during the day to prove that everything was working correctly.I would recommend Lightning Bug Electric to everyone because they were prompt, friendly and professional and they appear to do high quality work. Exceptional experience! I got a free estimate the same day I called, and work was done the next day. Becca provided timely and concise updates over the phone, dispatching a technician to my home immediately.
