We’ve used American Plumbing for a number of jobs at our home: sump & ejector pump replacements, sump backup battery and pump system, water heater replacement and more. Doug and his team are always on-time, efficient, responsive and offer fair prices for their quality work. Our sump failed one Saturday evening and Doug came out first thing Sunday morning to assess the situation and replace the pump for us, also putting us in contact with a restoration service company. We plan to schedule American Plumbing this spring to run a gas line to our new pool heater. I highly recommend American Plumbing!!

These guys are amazing! Our kitchen sink was pouring out water underneath and our previous plumbing service told us they could not fix it for a week. Not having a kitchen sink with kids in the house is rough! I called American plumbing as they came highly recommended on my towns Facebook group and now I get it! Cody came out the same day I called and spent a significant amount of time fixing a couple of major issues. Pricing was great (way better than our previous quote). I cannot thank him enough!!! We will definitely be using them again in the future.

During the sale of my home it was discovered that I needed numerous plumbing repair jobs during a pre inspection, and during the buyers inspection. I first contacted Doug at American Plumbing when over the summer when the City was relocating my water service. He answered my questions even though I wasnt a customer at the time. Then the morning of 8/30/23, I contacted Doug because my hot water heater was leaking. As luck would have it, Doug was five minutes away and swung by to take a look at it. It was very old all of the plumbing to it was not to code. He was back in the afternoon and he and his crew replaced my old hot water heater and all the plumbing to it at a very fair price.A few weeks later, the connection to my water softener started leaking. I tried to shut it off but it seemed that the shut off had failed (thats Lockport water for you). Doug stopped by to check it out even though it had stopped leaking. His advice was spot on and I havent had an issue with it since.Doug and his crew are professional, courteous and very respectful of your property. They cleaned up the entire area where they worked, covered their shoes across the carpet and gave my golden retriever lots of love. Thank you Doug and the rest of the crew at American Plumbing! I had a friend refer Doug to me when I needed to replace a couple of outside spigots. He fixed a leaking radiator pipe as well. They did a great job at a great price. I asked him to come out again to rod my kitchen sink. Reliably showed up quickly and did the job well. It wasnt the sink p-trap that was plugged up but further down the line; he took care of it all. Had him out a third time to install a new kitchen faucet. He made it all very painless. I had him out a 4th time to rod my main sewer line (old house) and he methodically worked through some roots. Yet again, great price and not only took care of the main line blockage but left everything cleaner than when he got here. I highly recommend them.

It look me a year of living in downers grove to find a forever plumber after searching a local parents group and finding “Doug F” written sometimes 100’s of times as reference to one single post. He is trained, honest, and reliable. I appreciate his communication throughout the day, since every plumbing issues is typically an emergency, and things can go sideways fast! He’s fixed gas leaks in my house within hours, diagnosed worries over the phone, installed new kitchen disposal and even come over to help due to user failure, calking a tub that he noticed was done incorrectly by a contractor, and rods more than yearly due to the age of my house. He helped me greatly in talking with the village about an issue they were trying to have me pay for. With his help, it was covered by the village. Cannot recommend enough!

Ive had Doug out twice now. The first time he fixed my bathtub faucets constant drip, and replaced the shower head and handheld shower. It wasnt as easy as wed hoped to replace the cartridge, but Doug figured it out, and stayed with it until it was done! The plumbing was old and what I bought for a new tub faucet and handle wouldnt work without cutting open the wall. Doug gave me an option that would work and cost $500 less. I appreciate him saving me money as Im a widow on a limited budget. I really appreciate everything Doug and Nick did and would highly recommend them! The second time Doug came out because my kitchen sink was backing up into the basement sink! He rodded out the drain, and everything worked again! Hes the best! Support local tradesmen! I know Ill call Doug first to take care of any future plumbing problems! I highly recommend you do, too!
