    Jared did my winter furnace maintenance last week, and based on his recommendation and photos of the furnace fan components, that a cleaning was warranted. He completed that work this week. Jared was very professional, answered my questions and explained what work he was going to do. He took the time to talk to me about other work and how it would be done. Id want him to do my Spring air conditioning maintenance because I know hed do complete and honest work. Ive been a customer of Southern Comfort from the first year we moved into our home and thats been 11 years.

    Southern Comfort Mechanical (SCM) provides text notifications before the Tech comes to your residence. Nick Summers was professional and passionate in helping to resolve our issue. Apparently, the wiring was not sufficient from the installation from another owner 8 years ago. SCM sent out Nick and it was resolved quickly! I would highly recommend them for all your air / heating situations!

    My worst fear was my 23 year old AC going out. I was afraid someone would tell us we had to upgrade and our system couldn’t be fixed. Not only did our tech fix our old outdoor unit but he also talked to us to educate us on the system. The cost was very reasonable. We are very happy we called the right company.

    08/17/2024 Joshua was my technician today and as usual he did an excellent job!Today I just had my second encounter with Southern Comfort Mechanical. Jesse was my technician this time. He was thorough and answered all my questions and helped me figure out what was going on with my thermostat, as well as gave me information on how to set it during these dog days of summer. Once again, great service from this company! Fast, convenient, affordable! Highly recommend this company!I can’t say enough about Southern Comfort Mechanical. They apparently merged with Allied American who was our long time AC service provider, but we had not called them in quite some time.My first call encounter was with Carrie when I called for service. She was so nice and accommodating and got us on the schedule quickly.Joshua was my service technician and even from the call prior to his arrival he was so genuinely kind. Once he arrived he was polite and answered any questions I had. I showed him the locations of what I had called them for and he got right to it updated me along the way. Joshua was super knowledgeable in explaining the diagnosis and went above and beyond to fix the problem.I would highly recommend this company!

    Jesse did a great job with fixing our AC. It has not run in about 5 days and he found the problem and took care of it in an hour or so. This was our first repair with Southern Comfort after they merged with Allied American and so far we have been pleased with the quick & efficient service.

    Jessy arrived in a timely manner and we quickly diagnosed the HVAC problem was a bad capacitor on the compressor. It was quickly replaced and returned to normal service. Jessy was courteous and answered all of my questions. I paid a whopping $236 for just the capacitor but that’s what Southern Comfort charges.

    Ivan with Southern Comfort came to the rescue quickly! The Southern Comfort Team are honest and trustworthy. Our condenser fan stopped working and he was able to replace it immediately, which is great since it is 100 degrees today and hot all weekend! Great job at reasonable prices!     I reached out to Southern Comfort after they acquired Allied American who had installed or worked on every air condition in my houses since 1999. I loved them and was super sad to find out that they deservedly retired, but I was hopeful that I was in good hands.I was in fact, in the best hands of Josh Fry who just left a few minutes ago. My 13-month-old upstairs unit just wasnt blowing cold and the air was a bit humid. Through a series of small tweaks through my house in each room and some larger installation adjustments, I am in better shape than ever.After working with Josh and the nice lady who answered my phone call, I can tell that the great customer focus that Allied American had hasnt gone away. From start to finish they took care of me and I now have 60 degree air pushing quickly out all of my vents.     Great service. Knowledgable technicians with plenty of experience. Thorough job cleaning and maintaining the unit. We got extra years out of our old unit before it bit the dust after 15 years (expected it to be done in 10 years). They installed our new unit and we are now under their maintenance plan. Its blowing cool and we are ready for summer.Adding more: we just had our maintenance check by Josh. Cleaned everything. Great service.Adding more: Had to have the fan blade and motor replaced because of rodent damage. Josh again did an excellent job diagnosing the issue, got the part ordered and was delivered and ready to install next day. He came by and finished the install in under and hour. Always excellent service and knowledge. Unit it cooling much more efficiently and quietly now.Adding more: Winter PM check just finished. All done on time, no fuss. Unit is working great. Southern Comfort added insulation to our attic a couple of months ago, and it is really helping keep the house temp even throughout.

    Weve been using Southern Comfort Mechanical for the majority of the time weve lived in our home for the past 9 years. The customer service is great! We had them install a new system a few years ago and had zero issues with the install process and the system has been working great. We have the comfort club membership which is nice because they text you when its time to schedule seasonal maintenance so its easy to stay on top of that. We recently had an issue where a callback was necessary and an appointment was scheduled same day. Our technician Matthan arrived on time, identified the issue and remedied it quickly.

    The best part of my experience was that the mechanic came exactly at 12 pm when, like all other companies, I was given a 4 hour window starting at 12. Nobody likes to wait through those windows!     What’s not to love about Allied American & Southern Comfort! We have been with Allied for nearly a decade & we soAppreciate & trust them! They have been taking care of our AC’s and all our appliances for years. Professional service, trustworthy prices, quick, efficient and even their admin staff are kind & helpful. We always trust our AC maintenance and appliance repair with Allied American. They have recently merged with Southern Comfort and so far things have been smooth. But it’s fairly new. Today’s Fall maintenance was great! Jonathon was on time, super efficient, answered all our questions patiently and the work was top notch! We would love to have him come back for our spring maintenance also!

    We were in need of quick service as our AC was clogged and wasn’t performing correctly. So as previously done, I called SCM. I was able to get them out within a couple of days. Matt came out, was very professional & gave great tips as to keep us running in top shape. He also let us know how long our current system might last & gave us an estimate on a new unit. Hoping with being a part of the Comfort Club and having check ups on our system twice a year it will last a long time. I give Matt & Southern Comfort 5 stars & am excited to be a part of the Comfort Club. Would recommend 100% of the time!!

    Andrew responded to our scheduled appointment on time. It took him a while to troubleshoot the problem because it wasnt obvious. But he succeeded to pinpoint the problem,a sticky/malfunctioning coolant sensor valve. He arranged to provided us with a portable AC unit to cool our bedroom until the replacement component was available. Repair was thorough and complete, leaving us with a perfectly cooled home.Good job Andrew!Thanks Southern Comfort!

    Our air conditioner quit working, so we called a few different reputable companies to get repair or replacement estimates. They all spent zero time trying to fix the unit and all their time writing up eye-popping estimates for a new one. Thats when we called Southern Comfort. Tony stopped by, gave us a rough yet reasonable estimate on the spot for a new unit but then said hey, we may be able to fix this. The very next day, Ivan the technician had identified the issue. While it wasnt an inexpensive fix, it was literally thousands less than what we feared (with a new unit). Our house is now cool again.Not sure when well buy a new unit but I know who well be buying it from without comparison. Southern Comfort is a first-class company because it has first-class employees who are customer-focused. Cant say enough good things about the entire experience.

    SCM replaced an igniter on our system a couple of months ago. After learning from the manufacturer that some of them were faulty, SCM reached out to us and came by to verify that we had one that was properly manufactured. Ours was fine, but it was very comforting to know that SCM would do these checks on their own to ensure properly working equipment this winter. Great job, SCM! And technician Jesse is always a star!

    Ur heat stopped working down stairs a month ago. We called A1 service. They came out for 100.00 and gave me a quote of 913.Then, I got a second opinion. He came out said it was the circuit board and about 350. 00 to replace, but wasnt sure if he could get the parts, and after 3 weeks couldn’t get ahold of him.Had another company, one hour AC service come out for 59 dollars to look at it, he said it was both parts. He said they could do it for 5200.00 I asked him, how much for just the blower, 2900. I said, A1 service said they would only charge me 913 for labor and that part. I told him no thank you. I gave them 3 stars because they were able to come out right away.I called the company that our Unit is from, and come to find out, our parts are still under warranty. Heads up, the guy qouted me 5200, called the same company I called and found out who installed the AC unit.I called Southern Comfort HVAC which is the company that installed the unit, they said, they can order the parts since I already had someone tell me what it was. They came out during a snow storm and installed the parts for only 250.00 it’s working like a gem.Fast forward: My AC was not working properly. I called and explained the situation. They came out fixed it. What’s important here is, because it was something on their end, it was covered under warranty. They were honest about it. They could have said it was something else. We will only go through this company from now on.

    I contacted Southern Comfort to get a quote on a full system to replace our old and tired unit that started leaking refrigerant. Tony came out to the house, went over my options, and left me with an estimate. No hard sell! I decided to go ahead with it. The installers came out a few days later (today) at 8am sharp as promised and had it all wrapped up by about 3pm, including a few adjustments Id asked for in terms of airflow distribution. Tony was very personable and professional as were the installation team and final technician. Im sure the city inspection will go fine as well and if it doesnt, Im confident Southern Comfort will take care of any issues that arise. Very pleased with my experience and investment!

Recognizes problem right away but still takes time to ensure everything else is normal and check for warranty coverage.Update on December 17, 2021: Different problem on downstairs heating system. The technician (Luis Orta) initially didnt see any problem -- thermostat was fine, furnace was fine, fan was fine, air filter was fine, dampers were all open, but he persisted. He checked the air flow and temperature at several heat registers and identified a pinched air duct. He straightened it out and everything has been ok since then. This was a problem that was not at all obvious. Most people would have said all was ok, and left without fixing.Update on Sept 20, 2023: I had an AC issue and called at 11 am, thinking it would take a few days before I could get anyone. They came over as scheduled in two hours and were done with diagnosis in 10 minutes. When you know, you know. No waste of time.Updated in October 2024: Great service as usual. When the job was running long and they had a lot left to do, they brought over 3-4 additional people at 5 pm to get the job finished that day. Upgraded to a Trane system. Wished I had done that previously to avoid early failures of the older brand.

    We are new here so when I realized the ac wasnt cooling as it should I checked the outdoor unit and found information from the manufacturer showing the unit to be 10 years old. Not knowing who has been servicing this equipment I called Southern Comfort Mechanical because a tag on the outdoor unit made me think they had likely installed it when the house was built. The very next day their serviceman arrived to diagnose the problem. Two business days later the new unit was installed. A breaker in the electrical box was too small and they were able to replace it with the correct size. Their guys answered all my questions and even showed me how to use the smart house panel to control my ac.Great service!

    Third visit April 24, 2024 to complete two tasks :(1) install Clean effects controller/door - thought to be malfunctioning from previous visit do new part was ordered and (2) Repair clothes dryer. Turns out new Clean Effects door was not required but rather hinge on original door was slightly bent and not properly engaging a switch to sctivate unit. Small repair made. No charge. Original door reinstalled. Dryer was rebuilt with new idler pulley, belt and rollers. No more noise. Jonathan is a great technician. Honest about Clean Effects issue. All work was effective and costs lower than I expected. Good communicator. Jonathan seems to be well trained, honest and effective. And on-time. Always wears disposable booties. Careful with all parts disassembling clothes dryer. Cannot say enough good things about Tech Jonathan and Service Manager Wesley.Second visit April 10, 2024. Cooling systems Spring inspection. On time. No issues on base check. But Clean Effects electronic panel/door stopped functioning. New door ordered under warranty but I must pay labor. Reasonable. Here about 3-1/2 hours. And must return once new part is in hand. So far very pleased with quality and such with transition to new company (Southern Comfort) from Allied American (previous owner and company). Today’s technician (Ivan Stewart) was on time. Professional and courteous. .This First visit by Southern Comfort to conduct heat check on two units. About Oct 2023. Was previous customer of Allied American for 6+ years. Always satisfied with Allied quality, professionalism, communication and promptness. Shoutout to Wesley - a great Tech and will hopefully maintain good quality as Service Mgr. Todays Tech Jonathan was also very good. No issues. Willreserve full judgement on SC until I have 2-3 more visits under my belt. Annual Maintenance Agreement on two units had already increased from about $279 to $319 May 2022 and now (Nov 2023 quoted) is $340 for two units. I understand inflation but will keep an eye on Southern Comfort quality, training, service and pricing until I become more confident with SC.

    Guys showed up on time and were very professional. I have used this company twice before. They could have sold me a new home system, but they repaired my home system and performed maintenance on our churchs system. Rather than call them I stopped in their office on my way home from church and made an appointment. They are a small local company that I will use again.The above was a few years ago. A few days ago I had them come out again to check out the furnace. They found it had a bad leak in the heat exchanger which could have been deadly for us as it had a big crack in the exchanger.     We got a new AC installed by them several years ago. They did a great job and we got a good quality AC for a good price. Half what other companies quoted us, because there were no hidden, unnecessary upgrades or replacement. Just what we needed to keep our house comfortable year round.I use them for system checkups as well. They dont do they annoying hard sell on optional items like other providers. Another provider tried to get me to entirely replace (at a much higher cost than what Southern Comfort did the system above for) a system that is cooling and heating exactly as expected simply because it was old.     Southern Comfort was called to perform routine maintenance for a quoted price. After the appointment was made my downstairs unit became intermittent. It would not come on sometimes. Because the repair seemed to be not covered in the routine maintenance, I expected to pay more. Kevin showed up on time I showed him the problem he went upstairs to the units and 20 minutes later he came down and said the unit was fixed and the repair was included in the quoted maintenance price. He easily could have said that it was extra, and I would have bought in to it hook, line and sinker.This is the second time I have used Southern Comfort and I have been happy both times. I definitely would recommend them.

Given my original installation was about 14-15 years old, I went with a long term replacement versus just trying to add some life to the original failed unit. He gave me an estimate that was several thousand dollars below what the Big Name Brand A/C dealers quoted. His install team showed up right on time. You could not have a bad experience if he is your service man.Companies are built on people. The first time I called SCM) many years ago I was wowed by the (then) owner’s dedication to service. I now feel that passion in Luis as backed by his support staff (thanks, Megan).Way to go, turning a 1-star review into a 5. You worked for it and I appreciate your service!Update: Luis is awesome! This man figured it out and worked hard to make sure I was happy. If you’re lucky enough to pull Luis as your technician on a service call you’re good.After my previous poor review because the technician was bad I continued to have problems with my a/c because the problem was mis-diagnosed, which caused me to spend lots more money then was needed to still not fix the problem.I ended up buying a new evaporator coil when the freezing problem was due to a bad thermostat not turning on the blower. I’m only a couple grand in the hole over that which is why this is 4 not 5 stars.Luis even determined that the previous technician, Martin, overcharged the coolant (at significant expense to me) and asked the office to refund that cost.I plan to request Luis for additional work I want done on Monday morning.———————————————ORIGINAL BAD EXPERIENCE BELOWI needed a new evaporator coil to get my upstairs unit cooling. When, on the initial evaluation, the technician quoted a price I asked if that price included recharging coolant after. The technician, Martin, replied that the coolant smelled sour and might need to be replaced but they would capture and recharge with my existing coolant.I know that coolant does not spoil so I figured this was just your typical up-sell attempt so I ignored it and agreed.The day of repair he hit me up for an extra $500 for coolant because “the compressor is not strong enough to evacuate the coolant”. This “issue” was not mentioned in the initial evaluation.I think this was deceptive but I didn’t want to hassle with it so I just paid the add-on. I’m disappointed that SCM is not as easy to deal with as it used to be. I think I might have to start looking for an alternative provider.

    I called Southern Comfort because of all the favorable recommendations on Nextdoor.com. Tony came out the following day, right on time. He explained everything thoroughly, and had our bid turned around in less than an hour. The follow up from both Tony and the office were excellent.If we decide to replace everything, we will likely go with these folks. We are very impressed all around.
