I would like to thank Joey and his company for their expertise, great customer service and humble attitude. My house had only partial power with the AC not working at all and the dryer not producing any heat. When I called Joey and told him about my electrical issue, he quickly deduced the most likely cause of the problem and advised to call the electricity provider directly. It turned out, there was a grounding issue with the providers equipment. Per Joeys free and humble advice, I saved a lot of time and $.

From estimate to installation, to dealing with permitting and Pepco, J and G handled our jobs professionally and efficiently. J and G replaced the entire 40 year old electrical panel and completed other work for us. The job was scheduled promptly. The 2 day process was explained to us and completed on time. Pepco certified the work and made the final connections. Joey w J and G followed up with us to confirm all that the old exterior equipment had been removed from the side of the house.

We have called on J&G a few times to solve electrical problems. Each time we have called, J&G has begun with a thorough inquiry to ensure that our issue is not one that we can solve ourselves. If necessary, a service all is scheduled. The electrician (Darwin, in our case) arrives and proceeds with inspection and repairs efficiently while explaining every step so that a nonelectrician can understand and weigh alternatives. Friendly, knowledgeable, thorough, and efficient: excellent personnel and service.

A couple years ago J&G upgraded my whole house electrical, from the breaker box back to the utility hookup. Recently they installed my EV Level 2 home charger. When it didnt work, they helped me trouble shoot it(the unit was bad and had to be replaced.) They got that done, and Ive got smooth sailing charging my car at home. J&G does quality work, and they do everything they tell you theyre going to do, professionally and efficiently. We live in a 90 year old home, and I wouldnt trust anyone else touching our electrical system.

Joey did a very nice job adding electrical outlets, a switch, and track lighting to our office. The office was built out from an exterior part of the 2nd story and had no electricity before J&Gs work. They put in decently attractive outlets and installed track lighting that we picked out. Joey was very good about giving us different options. The overall price was quite affordable. The only demerit is that because J&G is a small business, scheduling took a while and we did have to reschedule when a prior job ran long. But we he got to our job, it was clear the care that Joey puts into making sure each job is done right.

Joey and the entire J&G family were excellent to work with. The customer service that was provided from the first phone call was superior to most contractors I have dealt with and they were fast and responsive. Joey and his team were able to provide and accurate estimate simply by photograph of the issue and then were able to meet that estimate when the arrived to do the actual work. In addition they taught us much about our own electrical system in our house and explained very thoroughly to us what they were doing and why. They also took care of dealing with the DC Government for us which is a job in itself. We will be calling Joey and the team for any future electrical work!

I cannot recommend Joey and his team highly enough! I called J&G Electric to fix a pendant light in my kitchen after two other electricians said it would take over a week to get an appointment. I called Joey in the morning, explained the problem, and over the phone he identified the issue right away. He came later that day to fix the transformer in the pendant light, and got it working in about 15 minutes. Very happy that I discovered J&G Electric-- they will be my go-to electricians from here on out.

We had problem with a shorting circuit that was leaving our garage doors openers unable to function. Over the phone Joey correctly figured out the problem by my layman description and was able to come out within three hours, which was a pleasant surprise for it being New Years Eve.Thankfully problem fixed and we could use the garage and the other two rooms affected by the loose wiring. Quick job, and had them do their home safety inspection quickly also for a great price and give us a good estimate for some little odds and ends we want around the house. Joey even recommended an easy do-it-yourself fix rather than have me pay for a professional to do it.My wife and I will definitely be using J&G again for the follow up work. And our dog loved playing with the new puppy.

Great costumer experience. Joey and Brandon worked with me closely to wire up a sauna for me. They ensured they understood the requirements and gave me a much better than expected quote that I had received from others. They worked with me and the sauna company to coordinate deliver and installation. Darwin arrived at the time scheduled to do the work and was extremely professional. After purchasing an apartment in a 60-year-old building, I found that I had to replace the outlets, light switches, and smoke detectors. The breaker panel also needed to be repaired. Since I just moved back to DC after an overseas assignment, I had no idea who to call, so I checked the Better Business Bureau website and found J&G with an A+ rating. After explaining what I needed, I was particularly impressed when J&G contacted me back with detailed questions about the aged breaker panel, in order to figure how to address the problem in advance of the visit. This enabled Mr. Bellosi and his assistant to arrive completely prepared. They also asked in advance about my color preferences for the outlets and light switches, again to be properly prepared. As an added bonus, they even fixed the broken garbage disposal, which saved me from having to call in a separate repair service for it. They were friendly, explained everything they did, tested all the new installations before they left, and thoroughly cleaned up. Their prices were fair and reasonable. They definitely lived up to the A+ rating.

I started using J&G Electric one year ago when I moved into a 90-year-old house. Joey came on short notice every time I needed him and basically changed every malfunctioning light fixture and outlet and also checked my electrical panel to ensure it was up to code. I needed J&G again recently for a burnt out light fixture and Joey came the next day even though they were swamped. Joey is exceptionally skilled, knows old houses, and has come through every single time. I wouldnt trust anyone else!

Ive called Joey several times to address problems with my 1920s rowhouse. He and his assistant Darwin are by far the best electricians Ive worked with. They are incredibly thorough, explain things clearly, give me options, and are super prompt & professional.I had bizarro wiring in two rooms (when turned on, the lights would randomly cycle on and off) left over from a prior owner who DIYd a significant 1980s renovation. Joey and Darwin quickly figured out and fixed the problem. They also figured out why and fixed 2 heated bathroom floors when these stopped working and mapped out what outlets/appliances were on which circuits on my electrical panel after renovations in 2018 & 2019. Definitely worth every penny to have these sketchy remnants fixed.

Truly excellent work, above code. J&G Electric is not your typical handyman electrician - these are real pros who know how to properly design and install electrical systems. I am a demanding customer and I couldnt be happier with how the job came out. It was a commercial quality installation; not typical residential quality.I had them run conductors from a main electrical room to a 200 amp sub-panel in a garage. Conductors ran through a crawl space and then through underground conduit that J&G installed in a trench. The job was very challenging and required J&G to dig a 40 foot long trench (by hand), lay 3 conduit in the trench, transplant multiple large bushes that were in the way, and even run a portion of the conduit under a brick patio. They also had to connect the conductors to the live electrical feed from the power company, without turning off the power. Excellent job.

Sure enough, we found it and turns out the outlet was live but had been switched off.What was GREAT about J&G is that they gave this simple guidance, and saved us $$$ while saving themselves a visit too. They are also super nice.

Joey was quick, courteous, and knowledgeable.I called on Friday morning for a problem with one of our breakers. The office staff took my information and had Joey call me that afternoon to get more details and give me an estimate. He wanted to come in on Tuesday but I asked if he can fit me on Monday since I had the day off and he agreed. On Monday, he searched for the part needed in multiple Home Depot stores and showed up as promised. He resolve our ARC fault breaker within the hour and gave me a number of unrelated tips to maintain our electric system. Cost was below the estimate I received over the phone. Thank you Joey.

Joey came by yesterday to install a power surge protector (part of an Angies List deal) and address my whole laundry list of other items (and there were a lot). He was patient and helpful, answered all of my questions and gave me some suggestions to save me money. For example, we were set to have him relocate a couple of wall outlets before a built-in dresser would be installed (effectively blocking access to the outlets) and he suggested that we have our built-in ppl create grommets on the countertop and shortened the depth of certain drawers so we will always be able to access those outlets should we need them. This saved us $$$ and unnecessary drywall damage.He also fixed our outlets in the kitchen (that our contractors messed up), installed GFI outlets to code, and replaced our broken doorbell. He spent about 4 hours at our house and did excellent, tidy work. We are so glad that we found our household go-to electrician! Thanks Joey!

They came out and were super professional, transparent, helpful, and demonstrated confidence when we were facing an unknown power issue. They did major work outside with buried lines that took longer than expected given how deep the wires were and it was hot, but they worked diligently. We’ve had Eric come out three times for different issues, and he’s done a fantastic job all three times. Two of the visits had to do with electrical problems, and one involved installing wiring for five ceiling fans. Eric is not only an astute diagnostician – he figured out the two problems for which we had him come out to the house – but he’s also professional and he doesn’t nickle-and-dime you. For example, he was on-time all three visits. Furthermore, when he came to install the wiring for our ceiling fans, he showed me how to assemble and install the fan so that I could do it myself (and thereby save some money). We’ve definitely found our electrician.

J&G Electric is our go-to electrical service. Most recently, they replaced our smoke detectors throughout the house. J&G’s technician was very familiar with removal of old detectors and installation of the new ones. He accomplished the job in about an hour at the agreed upon cost. Previously, J&G replaced a chandelier in our two-story entryway. They arrived with all the necessary tools and drop cloths, removal and replacement was done flawlessly with installation of new LED bulbs and replacement of a switch with dimmer which is tailored for use with these low power, high brightness LED’s. These two jobs were done by a technician in one case, and a master electrician in the other. Both service calls were performed as scheduled and at an agreed upon cost. We will certainly use this company when and if we have other electrical needs. We found this company to be reasonable in the services they performed for us and as for cost, it is comparable with other companies in our area.
