Sapphires experienced electrician was great! Very knowledgeable and gave clear explanations of what he was checking and seeing. His diagnosis was correct; we had a problem at the pole which is ComEds responsibility. He was able to get a truck from Comed within about 12 hours to fix the connection. Sean was very polite and cordial. I highly recommend Sapphire.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about sapphire electric and Shawn! He truly came to the rescue when we had an electrical fire in our home. We had never dealt with anything like this before and were so lucky to find Sapphire electric and Shawn. Not only did he do an incredible and thorough job fixing everything, but he also is extremely responsive, and patient. We had so many questions and concerns and he took the time to address every single one and ease our fears. He helped make recommendations to ensure we have the safest home in the block and does superior work. It was early Friday evening and I made a very foolish (and dangerous) error when trying to install something in an outlet resulting in the outlet exploding and sparks flying out. Although, I could switch the breaker back on and the other outlets worked, I was concerned that an electrical fire could be smoldering behind the wall. I knew that given the time of day that I would be seeking “emergency electrician hours” but was surprised at how hard it was to find anyone who would come.Sapphire answered my call immediately. The dispatcher was so nice and pleasant and said that he could have someone there within a couple hours.The technician arrived at the early end of the arrival window - even waiting for ME as I had to drop my son at an event. He got straight to work assessing the damage, replacing the part and even making sure the wires were tightened and everything was as safe as possible before reinstalling the plate and completing the work.Gave me advice and solutions for both the item I was trying to install and another question I had on an appliance light.He assured me that I did the right thing as electrical fires can fester and it could have been very dangerous to leave it over the weekend.Although the out of hours cost was a bit more than regular hours… I do not feel it was egregious and it was well worth the peace of mind that was provided.You could tell this was a professional operation with highly skilled and knowledgeable technicians.Thank you!!

My electrical panel was arcing, and just generally in a bad state after a storm.Shawn came as soon as he can, and stayed late to restore service, to ensure wed have electricity during the night.He then came again the next day to replace the remaining broken parts, and tested everything with us.Not only was he professional, but he was also extremely knowledgeable and good at sharing what he was doing and why.This was an excellent experience, and Id recommend Sapphire Electric in a heartbeat.

We needed major electrical work done on our 100+ year old house, including replacing the service line, installing proper grounding and rewiring parts of our house. Sapphire Electric did a great job and probably saved our lives in the process. (A week after they replaced our service line, a major windstorm hit the city and would have probably completely taken out the old line.)These guys specialize in fixing old, existing (often incorrectly done) wiring and were not put off by the scale of the work or the scary exposed cloth wiring at certain locations.It was pretty easy to set up an appointment and they sent out a licensed electrician (Shawn) to our house, who was basically like our project manager and handled all the work, communication, and payment. He assessed our whole house (free service), listened carefully to our needs and wants, discussed our options and gave us an idea of the cost of different things from the start. He also told us right away what work was urgent because it was a safety hazard and what could wait a bit longer. Of course some unexpected things came up, but Shawn worked with us to stay within our budget.Shawn was knowledgeable, respectful, patient, and had excellent communication. He wasnt always on site working, but when others in his crew were here, we could count on him to be in touch and we were able to run any concerns or issues by him right away. He tried to check in at the end of each work day and I also overheard him at the end of one day teaching/mentoring a younger worker and that spoke volumes.We will definitely be using Sapphire Electric again in the future.

My family and I contacted Sapphire Electric back in Dec. of 2019 to assess our new household that we purchased that summer. We had their technician Shawn come out and do a free estimate of the house. The house was older (1950s) and needed extensive repairs/upgrading, but Shawn was very thorough in his repair assessment of everything that needed to be done, which included upgrading/grounding the outlets in the house, re-wiring the electrical system, and even updating the electrical panel because the original panel had all of its circuits blown out (we were not aware of this), which is a huge fire hazard!Thankfully Shawn took the rest of the week to handle all the work in his busy schedule, and even took the time to contact Com Ed about updating the power lines to our household for free, as well as installing a new dining room light and switch for us, and patching up the drywall after installing our new panel.Anytime we had any questions or issues from any of the work done, Shawn was happy to explain everything in detail and guarantee his work free of charge to make sure everything worked.The repair expense was large due to the amount and scale of the repairs, but its been 6 months since all of these extensive repairs have been done with zero issues in our home. Were truly thankful for Shawns expertise and time! Highly recommended if you want thorough and responsible professionals from this company!

He even provided us a temp lines for our internet and heat. We are very pleased with his professional demeanor and he gave us an exact quote for the job before starting the work. We rely upon Sapphire for all of our electrical issues.

I usually dont write reviews, but had to for Sapphire Electric because they went above and beyond for me. Sapphire Electric did great work on our house and I was very happy with the final project. They were really professional. I purchased a home in portage park and it was really outdated. They came out and did a phenomenal job for all the electric work. I will use them again for any electrical work in the future. Amazing Electricians, Highly recommend!

Our electricity went out during a winter storm. I called Sapphire Electric and they dispatched an electrican quickly. The electrican was there on time and he was able to diagnose the electrical issue. We had a short in our wiring and that was the culprit. I will definitely use these electricians in my Chicago rentals I own. Thank you again for saving me from having busted pipes that would have cost thousands of dollars and being knowledgeable and honest. I only wish I could give you a few bonus stars!

Fast response, great work and reasonably priced. Had a burnt outlet that needed replacing and to inspect related wiring. Called at 6:30 in the evening and got an appointment for the next afternoon. Shawn arrived (after great communication about expected arrival time) and quickly assessed the problem. He had it all fixed up in about 30min total. In total, it cost $170 for the diagnosis, materials and labor. Would highly recommend Sapphire Electric.

We had a power surge at our new house late on a Saturday night. At the time we had no idea what was going on except that the lights were flickering and we had a hot outlet. Fearing an electrical fire, we searched for an emergency electrician and we found Sapphire. Mike answered and walked us though turning off the circuits and checking on a few other things. He was so nice on the phone and he dispatched Shawn to come out to our house the next day (Sunday). Shawn arrived, listened to what we had experienced the night before and immediately got to work. He determined that we had had a power surge, explained from A-Z how a power surge works, things he would be looking for, insurance coverage, time/labor, safety and the prevention of future surges. Shawn was nothing short of phenomenal in terms of expertise, thoroughness, communication (both with us and our insurance company), time management, and professionalism. He also put up with our toddler who had 100 questions for him on more than 1 occasion. Shawn will be our electrician for all future electrical projects or concerns at our house. It’s so hard to find trustworthy people when you are in an emergency situation. Please know from our experience (and trust me, our house was a disaster), that you can trust Sapphire and that Shawn is our personal favorite.

Highly recommend!! I was in between a home remodel project and after fitting the new kitchen appliance the fuse box which kept tripping. This was derailing the entire project as my remodel contractors were not able to move forward. We called Sapphire Electric in an emergency and they were able to replace old wiring and fixed the fuse box same day. Their personalized care and knowledge helped keep my remodel project on target and budget.

One of the biggest selling points for me was that they are licensed and bonded with the state. Sapphire Electric came and assessed the work that needed to be done, pulled the needed permits, and quickly got to work. The crew that performed the work were efficient and professional. The project manager, Kam, was always prompt to return any phone calls and answered all the questions and concerns that I had before, during, and after the work was performed. This review is long overdue!After recently moving to Chicago, we needed various work done in our new house. This included electrical work to accommodate a new washer and dryer. After taking delivery of my new machines I realized that I did not have the correct outlet for the dryer, and that all the electrical in the laundry needed attention. I had been without a washer and dryer for nearly ten days, (with three boys this was no joke), so I wanted the work done ASAP.Kam at Sapphire was outstanding. He was punctual and professional and knowledgeable. He really went above and beyond. Thank you! The electrical work was complicated and laborious. It was done to an excellent standard. All the guys, especially Kam, were great. He explained everything clearly. The estimate was very fair, comparable to other companies, and the same as the final bill. No add-ons or surprise charges despite the work being more involved in the end. They were also very tidy. I was very impressed and I would not hesitate in using them again.

Sapphire Electric was great! I was able to schedule with them for same day service. I had a fishy smell coming from my electrical outlets. After the electrician did his diagnostic and looked at everything thoroughly.He found the issue and it turned out to be burned wiring for my bedroom outlet. He was able to replace the wiring without ripping up the walls. These guys saved our lives and I appreciate the honesty and thoroughness.
