    I needed a contemporary chandelier installing into a wood panel ceiling that could not be removed. Raul and Caesar approached the job carefully, finding a set of hidden cables inside the ceiling behind the panels, and then carefully and thoughtfully approached exposing the cables keeping the paneling safe and intact. They were highly professional, great to work with, and kept me informed the whole way. The result is fantastic.

    Outstanding professionalism from the Highlights team! For this client, Highlights needed to go into the ceilings because of the old cloth wire. The knowledge Boz had was unparalleled; it was out with the old & in with the new transformers & LED. I really appreciate that Raul & the guys protected the furniture & artwork.     HIGHLY recommended.     We had to have numerous projects done at the house we just bought, from fixing outlets, installing lights, creating new outlets, and even running Ethernet cables. All of these projects were done by Raul, and I can’t say enough good things about the jobs he did. He approached each job with professionalism, attention to detail, and care. He walked through each job with me, worked to minimize the amount of holes he would need to cut in the walls, and even stayed late to finish a job that didn’t quite go to plan due to the layout of my house. He was fantastic to work with, and I’ll continue to use him for any other job in the future. It was also very affordable!

    I highly recommend Boz and Highlights Chicago for any challenging custom electrical installation projects that might be on your horizon! Professional, efficient, adaptable & knowledgeable are words that come to mind when describing the electricians of Highlights Chicago! After receiving several quotes for the replacement of two light fixtures, one that hung 20 ft. up in the foyer and the other that hung 17 ft. up in the primary bedroom, I chose Highlights Chicago for the job based in large part on several strong recommendations. Boz came through with his dream team of Raul, Gustavo & Christian. Original plan - use a 20 ladder for the foyer install but at 7:15 am this past Wednesday morning, the ladder quickly proved too large for the narrow foyer space. Undaunted, the crew came back the same morning and at 9:45 am, set about quickly building a 20 scaffold in the space to remove an old, wrought iron fixture that had come with the house and installing an antique store find in its place. Watching the progress, I was impressed with the speed, knowledge & teamwork that the three electricians displayed. Also, maneuvering 20 ft. up on the somewhat precarious scaffold was no easy feat, but the crew made it look effortless. Once the foyer job was finished, the scaffold was dismantled and brought up to the 2nd floor primary bedroom in order to remove an old ceiling fan that hung 17 ft. above. Down came the ceiling fan & up went the new chandelier and its numerous crystals that the team put together & hung while 12 ft. in the air. Both installs were finished by 1:45 pm, and the crew left the home spotless and the new light fixtures gleaming. Well done! I will definitely use Highlights Chicago for future rehab projects in both my real estate & interior design businesses! Thank you Highlights Chicago!

    We recently had exterior and interior electrical work at my moms home. The work involved removal of the old fuse electrical sevice throughout, installation of new 100 amp service, outside meter ground, supplemental ground inside, new washer and dryer outlets, installation of new utility light fixture and required permit. Highlight Chicago representative Boz was very responsive after I reached out to obtain a proposal. Their pricing was competitive with others we received. We are very pleased with the professional work and effort that the Highlight Chicago team - Luis, Jerado and Kaplan provided. They were polite, communicative as the work progressed and showed up on time. The work was completed in one day.

    I rarely give a review on businesses, but I truly wanted to express my gratitude for all the work you guys did for me on my home. You came into my home and from top to bottom you knew what was needed for my home to past inspection. Hightlight Chicago your workers are phenomenal and masters in what they do. Working with Ben and Juve was very educational and they was very patient with what I wanted, where I wanted it, and explaining or answering all my questions on how things work they was very thorough in doing their job.Theses guys came in and wired my whole entire home and passed both rough inspection and final inspection. The City of Chicago knows how this company works and how perfect they are with detail was impressive.I have already recommended this company out to many and I have no reason to not use them for all my projects.My home was a 203k and they knew every code in the book. And my home is located in Chicago. They even installed all my electrical hardware for my 4 zone mini split. Again Juve and Ben you guys are great and your boss was always attentive .     Boz and his entire team were totally professional and very friendly. We had a lot of work done on an old condo building which is not easy to do. They went out of their way to solve issues that came up during the process. We updated the electric box to 220, install can lights, install electric for a recessed electric fireplace, and moved and installed many lights, pendants, and sconces.     I spoke with Boz for the initial consult and not only was he kind and friendly, but also answered all of our questions and provided different quotes for a list of projects in our condo in LP. From this, we were able to prioritize our list by weighing the cost of each project individually - very helpful and honest.The team lead for the installation was named Kaplan. He was outstanding! He was extremely polite, went out of his way to explain the process behind his work, made sure to involve us in every important decision, was thankful and personable, and genuinely cared about his craft and the end result of the project. I saw him lead a team of over 6 guys, and always remained professional as he guided the team through the entire process, from the actual math needed for the measurements to the final execution of attaching the chandelier (with 25-foot drop from the ceiling).Before starting, he covered every surface in the living room and kitchen to avoid a mess of dust and drywall. During the installation, he was focused (and stressed the same caution to his team) on preventing the chandelier from getting scratched - even going as far as re-wrapping the entire thing in bubble wrap. The same goes for the extension rods - he continually reminded his team to be careful not to scratch the brass finish. On the final day, he helped us clean the kitchen counters, moped the floor, and took out all of the trash from the install.Superb, excellent, outstanding and impressive.Thank you, Kaplan!!!

    Dont look anywhere else for lighting and electrical work; Highlights is the one you should hire.As someone who hasnt gone through a major lighting upgrade, I was nervous at first, but from the moment I had my initial call with Boz, to the moment Gig, Victor and Christobal completed the work, it was an extremely smooth process. In fact, it all happened fairly fast too; from first call to completed work. I was very impressed. For context, I am in a 1BR condo, and had 3 sets of track lights replaced with a total of 19 recessed lights installed.     These guys are absolutely AWESOME!Kemal took my initial request and was so attentive scheduling Raul and Jose to install several light fixtures in my Rogers Park condo.They removed an old ceiling fan from my bedroom and replaced it with a new ceiling fan I purchased. They also installed a new fixture in my dining room and living room. The new fixtures were still in the boxes, so they put everything together too, saving me hours of frustration. The guys were so patient, showed up on time, put booties on their feet and wore their masks.With the new fixtures, I decided to replace ugly wall sconces and contacted Kemal again and he sent someone over in 1 hour! This time Elvir arrived and once again, put booties on over his shoes and wore his mask. Elvir is super tall, 66 so he didnt even need a ladder! He carefully measured and made sure the sconces were even. Everything looks GREAT!Highlights Chicago are the best!!!

    I learned about Highlights Chicago through online forums as they were a recommended installer for EV chargers.I spoke with Boz and he provided a detailed explanation of how they were going to route the NEMA outlet from the basement, where my box was located, up to the garage. It was not easy as it needed to be routed through tight spaces and crawspace, but they were able to get it done.The total job took about 3-4 hours, with Mladen and Kaplan as my techs. The two were very knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all my questions. When they were servicing the work, they laid tarp to ensure my basement did not get dirty. They brought cleaning spray and cleaned after themselves once the job was finished.Should I move houses and need a new EV charging port, I will be going back to Highlights. Competitive prices + professionalism was huge in my experience.

    Highlights did a bunch of work on our house. We had used them previously to do work in our condo (they were the best to install a couple of ceiling fans--previous review). We moved to an older home and they have been out twice. First to install and update a bunch of wiring and outlets. The latest time, they came out to install a couple of outlets for a sump pump, but because the breaker box was small and outdated we ended up just upgrading to 200 amp service. Not only were they able to get it scheduled within a week (big job), they also cleaned up a bunch of the wiring in the basement.Boz (the main contact) is great--very helpful and a nice guy. His crew was very professional and worked hard for two days. The city inspector was just out to review the work for the permit, it was a quick inspection and passed with no issues.I did get one other quote for comparison (from a place that a co-worker recommended) and their quote was within $100 of Highlights for the 200 amp upgrade. Our experience is that Highlights does high quality work and their prices are reasonable. We have recommended them to our friends who need electrical work.

    Wonderful experience from beginning to end. I had a bunch of small projects that I wanted to address after living the my house a couple of years. From the initial call, to Boz coming out for the quote to the teams doing the work I was blown away with the promptness and friendliness as well as the care in which they took with my home. They could not have been nicer and mentioned that they were in the area and could they stop by in a couple of hours.     Today I had 2 light fixtures installed by Ben and team. They were in and out within 25 minutes and very patient with me in deciding what light bulb I wanted to use in my new light fixtures. I filled out a free quote questionnaire online early Monday morning, and Kemal from Highlights was already in contact with me by 12 noon that day. After gathering a bit more information, I had an appointment for install the next day. Wow, that was quick and great service!     Reached out via email to move a bathroom light fixture, had to cut the pipe and give a new electrical box. Got a response, sent a few images, got a rough quote, and scheduled a time for them to come and do work.     I cant say enough about how much I appreciate Boz & the guys at Highlights Chicago for helping us through our electrical issues.We bought our first home back over Memorial Day and immediately started to have flickering lights & temporary power outages. We had multiple different electricians out from Thumbtack or other services, but they all seemed content with doing superficial checks with little-to-no troubleshooting. We heard about Highlights from a friend and reached out and they were very responsive. In the first instance they came out, they did more checks and tests than all of our other electricians combined. They even ran out to Home Depot to get some anti-corrosion spray as a potential temporary fix, knowing that we needed to get access to the meter box to do further investigations.After our power started failing again, they quickly came back out and were able to diagnose the problem in our meter box and started looking for replacement parts. Unfortunately, our box was outdated and virtually impossible to replace with any available equipment. They deferred any charges for this second visit until we were able to actually get the problem resolved. Due to supply chain issues, replacing the box was impossible, so they came out again, took everything apart, identified the pieces that were causing the poor connection, and worked on fixing the parts we had.These guys are great. I cannot explain how many times I called Boz to talk through any updates on the supply front. Again, these guys are lifesavers!

Having a team made the work two days instead of two weeks. We appreciated Bozs insight and creativity.     I needed a dedicated circuit installed to supply power to the heated floors that were being installed in my bathroom the following week.     What a great experience. Admittedly, this was a small job (hanging a couple of pendant lights in our bath), but Ive had less than positive experiences with other electricians in the past, so I was skeptical. But Highlights exceeded expectations and lived up to their rave reviews. Provided a quick and reasonable estimate within hours. Kaplan showed up right on time, explained the issues with the existing fixtures and installed the new ones in a flash. Cordial, efficient and conscientious.     Im so glad I found Highlights Chicago! I bought a house in 2021 that needed a new electrical panel installed. I met with Boz, and he understood exactly what needed to be done. Oscar and Gustavo did the work, which included adding an entirely new electrical service line. They did a very thorough job from start to finish. Since then, Highlights have helped with several additional electrical updates at my fixer-upper home. They respond quickly and I know I can count on them when something comes up that needs to be fixed asap.     There’s a reason why this company literally has a 99% 5-star rating. This past August, I was replacing an old ceiling fan in our daughter’s room. Because of the very old wiring we’ve had for years, we thought re-wiring was in order. Called many electricians. Some were too busy; most didn’t service our area; and even more didn’t respond. I saw Highlights Chicago’s website and called them. I was jaded and didn’t expect much. I got BOZ. He set up a slot for us PROMPTLY and came out to our home on time. I told him that we possibly needed a possible full-rewire. (I know. Wrong move, right?) He could have taken advantage of that. But he didn’t. Instead, Boz educated me on the old wiring for what was needed right then, and instructed me on the ceiling fan. Which I installed myself. Thanks for the lesson, Boz. More recently, I was in a crunch. Needed wiring for a big job coming up the first week of the year. Texted Boz this past Tuesday. He responded Tuesday afternoon. Sent Ben out Wednesday morning. And now, I’m good to go for our upcoming project! Ben did great work. Was straight business. Courteous. Great clean-up. BEAUTIFUL work, Ben. I asked Ben what was it like working for Highlights/Boz. It’s VERY refreshing and encouraging to hear associates speak well of their boss and company. Says much about them both. Did I mention that the price was right!?     5 STARS!!!!! Boz was referred to us by a very close friend to help in what we considered an emergency situation on a Sunday afternoon when an OLD ADT systems battery back up decided to fail in our condo. We knew the building we purchased and moved into 8 months ago had an old ADT system but was told its not hooked up and doesnt actually work. Yesterday, a Sunday, we experienced the worst possible issue when the alarm system decided it would go off to let us know the battery back up was dying. We didnt know where the sound was coming from initially and frantically tried changing all the batteries in our smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors but the alarm was still going off with no reprieve deafening mine, my husbands and my puppys ears. Boz immediate answered my call after having no idea who I was and started helping us with suggestions. We started FaceTiming and checking everything that could possibly be the cause of the sound narrowing it down to the old 12x12 inch ADT wiring box inside our Washer/Dryer closet. After about 10 minutes, cutting wires and pulling old/unnecessary alarm boxes from the walls, we werent any closer to an answer or relief and Boz immediately said, Ill be over there ASAP to help you. Were so thank for for him to come that quickly and he definitely helped save our sanity. We will definitely use Boz and Hightlights Chicago for any planned and or unplanned electrical work in the future for all our residential electrician, installation and/or wiring needs.

    Highlights did a wonderful job for me! I had an an issue where a wire inside my A/C condenser unit (on the roof) had malfunctioned and had shorted. The A/C repairman said I needed an electrician to come replace the whip and the disconnect electrical box. Within 1 hour of my calling, Highlights was at my house and fixing my electrical. I live in a walk-up building where roof access is off the balcony via a ladder. They brought all of the necessary tools, equipment, and material to ensure the job could be finished that day. I had a lot of questions for them about when and why this occurred and they answered all of them. They made me comfortable throughout the repair. They were very professional and I cannot say enough about how easy and nice they made the entire process.

    Absolutely loved working with Kemal and Raul! Kemal was very easy to get in touch with and scheduled a visit asap to attend to my electrical needs. I had a water heater that kept tripping an outlet. Water heater repair people wanted to replace the heater. I held out and checked out the electrical first. Turned out to be the outlet. They have helped us with a specific light fixture twice now, once last December and once this past week and both times were extremely quick with their response and making us a next day appointment.     I spoke with several electricians about my 1946 home, and I am so grateful that I chose Highlights! They upgraded my electrical service, replaced my panel, added appropriate grounding, rewired and replaced as much cloth wire as possible. The team of technicians worked so hard on my house, and they were extremely personable and helpful. They explained what they were doing, asked for my input, and were extremely diligent about fixing strange issues they came across. I appreciated that they billed based on time and materials (rather than a fixed price) because I knew if I asked for something extra they would charge me accordingly and not feel put out. The two workers that came to my home were quick to add the necessary wiring and breaker per my project. Unfortunately, they did forget to turn on the disconnect for a piece of equipment (located on the roof, ladder needed which I do not own). Luckily, my HVAC company was still onsite to help resolve the disconnect switch issue by having the necessary ladder to get on the roof.I also had a minor issue as well with a hole in the wall as the workers thought there was a hidden junction box. (There was not). After speaking with Nikki, they were able to help me with the situation.In summary, they got the job done with a great price and some minor hiccups. On the bright side, Nikki was able to help resolve these hiccups as quickly as possible and to make things right.

    We were very happy with our experience with Highlights. From start to finish, they were responsive, easy to communicate with, clear, and flexible. On the day of service Juve and Oscar went above and beyond. They were kept us up to date on progress and were flexible and open to making things work for our old house that has some creative electrical configurations. Ultimately, they completed everything on our list including fixing an outlet, reconfiguring three way switches, installing a new outlet, and installing a wired doorbell. They even helped us figure out some of our unlabeled switches on our fuse box. Both wore masks as a Covid precaution and used tarps where they were working so that our house was just as clean when they left. Will definitely be calling Highlights with any electrical needs we have in the future.

    Highlights Chicago Electrical Services had done fantastic work for our condominium association in the past so when I personally needed work done, I hired them. They replaced a faulty GFCI outlet by my kitchen sink, removed an old audio volume control from the wall and installed a new chandelier. They asked questions appropriate for the work. (chandelier placement, chandelier height, etc.). They worked efficiently and cleaned up when their work was complete. I would definitely hire them for future work.Update - 27-Oct-2021- I had additional work to be done. Again, the electrician that came out did a fantastic job. They replaced a wired smoke detector with a combo smoke detector / carbon monoxide detector, capped off the original carbon monoxide detector, replaced 1 closet light, and replaced 2 exterior lights. He worked swiftly and efficiently. I will definitely use them again for my future electrical needs.

    I needed an electrician for an outlet in my basement because I had just purchased a washer and dryer. Also, my garage needed complete new wiring after a replacement roof, and all the old wiring was gone anyway. I called Highlights Chicago and spoke with Boz, the electrical technician. He came by and analyzed what I needed done and sent me a proposal for both jobs the next day. The price was very reasonable for each but I wanted to start with the basement outlet first, then would decide on the garage afterwards. Needless to say, I was overly impressed with the professional work that was done. So, I called them back right away to have them come back and completely wire up the garage. Boz showed up with Ben, William and Gerardo. I work from home and let them know if they needed me they could call me at any time. Well before I knew it they were done (they are fast as well as efficient) and asked for me to come and take a look at the finished work. Oh my god, I was so happy and excited with the quality of work they did in my garage. My garage lighting looks great and Im totally satisfied. I was blown away! I now have a go to company for all my electrical needs. LOL. Its very hard to find someone you can trust to come to your property and do what they say theyre going to do and actually execute it. But when you do happen to find a company that takes pride in their work, and do a really great job, youll want to hang on to those companies such as Highlights Chicago.     Can I give more than 5 stars? These guys are world class honestly. Their bid for installing 3 EV chargers at our condo building was less than half than a few other bids we got.     Highlights Chicago did a great job overall. We had electrical boxes added in our ceiling to center a chandelier and addition of two kitchen pendants. We also had several cans installed in place of track lighting. The technicians Raul and Juve were very thoughtful and helped us plan out where to place our lighting for the best results. Our ceiling light fixtures were centered perfectly. They were very respectful and made sure that no mess was left after the job. Customer service by Kamal and Boz was also fantastic as they were friendly, prompt, and replied very quickly. Wwe were able to schedule service really fast as well.     Its too bad I cant give Highlights ten stars for the work they did for us. They are just that good. I asked Boz to come in and quote a bunch of work for our kitchen, bathroom, and electrical panel that were left unfinished by our irresponsible contractor for our home renovation. Boz gave us a very reasonable quote to essentially fix a bad haircut. It involved fixing numerous outlets and switches, missing breakers, lighting, as well as new outlets and circuits. I was skeptical that it could be done in one day. Boz assessed the situation perfectly and pointed out things that I did not even know had been done negligently by the previous contractor.I had been told by other electricians that they couldnt come in for a month. Boz sent in three of his electricians in the same week in which I signed the quote. Juve and Jose were two of the names I remember, but all three men were kind, clean, professional, and unbelievably thorough. They communicated everything to me and even gave me advice on which appliances to plug in where (who knew a four-slice toaster draws more power than a microwave oven on full throttle?). When they had questions, they didnt just ask me, but they also gave me my options and recommendations. When I didnt have an answer, they made the best decision possible and it worked.They even did work that I didnt think of in order to do a complete job for the kitchen. They didnt add a single additional charge for any extra work they did... they did what they thought should be done in order to do the job right and completely. This is unheard of these days...anywhere. They worked relentlessly all day and only broke for lunch for an hour. They arrived at 7 am and worked until 5:30. Before they started, they protected all kitchen surfaces where they worked. Before they left, they cleaned up EVERYTHING. I have worked with many contractors in my commercial real estate job and in my home, and I have never met a group of tradesmen who were THIS good, this thorough, and this courteous. My only regret is that we didnt have them as our electricians for our renovation from the start. I cannot say enough good things about Highlights, Boz, and the staff. Remarkable.

    As both a homeowner and long-time landlord, I am very skeptical about all contractors. I found Highlights Chicago Electrical Services on Yelp, and was even more skeptical regarding well over 200 five-star reviews. I needed a major electrical service upgrade done on a historic landmark apartment building I own so I had no choice but to do the research and select a contractor.I know there are ways to get great reviews on Yelp. However, nine times out of ten, those people or services wont bother to write reviews in great detail, let alone many paragraphs in length. As I read through the reviews I realized they were legit.I can now add mine to the list. This company has truly earned every five-star review it has received. I have NEVER had such a positive experience with an electrical contractor. Quite the opposite. I got 3 different estimates, and they werent the lowest, and not the highest either. Boz came out to look at what needed to be done (which included undoing the disaster the previous electrician created) within a few hours of my call. He explained everything in detail, and the pros and cons of what my options were.They never asked for any payment upfront. The estimate was extraordinarily detailed. Shock number one. The team I was assigned, Kaplan and Jose, showed up ready to go at 7 am the next day! Shock number two. They worked their butts off until well after 6 pm! Shock number 3. They came back the next two days and did it again. Shock number 4.This is a company that is proud of what they do. The end result looked like a work of art! The conduit was perfectly aligned, evenly spaced and so symmetrical I couldnt get over it. Every detail was addressed, and all done without cutting corners, dodging building codes, or overcharging. Old houses are not easy to work on and require a lot of patience and genuine expertise. They worked around all the challenges and knocked it out of the ballpark.As long as they are in business, I will NEVER use anyone else. The few hundred dollars you might save going with the lowest cost option is nothing compared to the misery you will spare yourself by having this company do the work. If I could give them more stars I would. They are also really nice people to work with. When was the last time you thought that about a contractor?

    These guys are incredible - great service, value, and unlike many contractors they take the time to really explain what they are doing, and why it is important. My partner and I recently purchased a 100 year old Chicago 2-flat that we thought needed a bit of work but, as it turns out, is one of those buildings where the previous owners thought they knew best and made slapdash DIY repairs/upgrades that are at best mediocre and at worst extremely dangerous. The Highlights team has already helped us bring the electric in the two flats up to code, disconnected the bonkers wiring in the basement in preparation for a demo and rebuild, and, when we realized the 8 ceiling fans throughout the building were disconnecting from the ceiling and hazardous to operate, came in and serviced and anchored all of the fans (apparently the previous owners had cut holes in the ceiling, connected the wiring, and called it a day). Then, when our demo team accidentally cut the power to our boiler furnace in January cold, they were able to get people out to us the day we called, earlier than their estimated time by 40 minutes, and the heat back up immediately. Sometimes they are a bit slow to respond, so follow up is important, especially right now when COVID is running rampant and making people call out sick and isolate, but these guys are worth waiting for, and they will come through in a crunch. As we continue to repair and renovate our home, we will continue to call on these guys, and I will be recommending them to anyone in their service area. Thank you, Baz and team!

    Spectacular Service.I am so thankful I called Highlights. Boz, and his team - Oskar and Rolando were everything and more.I called to get a second opinion on installing a sub panel to power radiant heating for my floors (requiring two additional dedicated 240v lines). Boz informed me that the right way to do this would be relocating my box in my unit (was in a community basement). I thought we were looking at a week+ lead time and probably would need to sell my left kidney.The team was able to complete in two days of work, four days in total from the moment I called them.     Wow Im thrilled at the work that was done in my place . I have a High-End salon in Chicago and Highlights did my lighting . I received 10 % off on my services because i got a lot of things done. The customer service was great as well and I received a christmas card from them with some chocolates.     This review comes without even needing to have work done. We frantically called Highlights on a holiday weekend...during quarantine because our rental unit had lost power to one entire wall. Kamal returned our call promptly and was able to set up an appointment for first thing the next day (I believe he even went into the office to make sure he had an appointment time...on a holiday). As it turns out, it was a ComEd issue and once they repaired the outside equipment, all power was back on in the unit. Kamal was easy to work with while figuring out if we needed to keep our appointment. He talked to us and texted back promptly, even though it was a holiday weekend. When it ended up being a ComEd issue, Kamal was cool with cancelling our appointment and very helpful and professional letting us know to call him if we ever run into issues again. We will have no problem recommending Highlights and/or calling again whenever we have issues. 10 stars!

    Called one company based in River North for an electrical issue I was having in my condo. Even though my property is in the south loop area, about a 10 min drive from River North, they claimed I was outside their service area. No worries; not the first time thats happened. So I discovered Highlights Chicago and had texted the contact number and quickly received a response from Boz, apparent owner. The next morning at 7:30a, Raul arrive promptly and was able to quickly diagnose my issue. 20 min later, I had two new electrical outlets and a clear understanding as to why I was hearing sparking noises behind the old outlets. Pricing was fair, relatively speaking for qualified electricians these days. The most important thing is I feel at ease knowing an expert did the repair and my place will not be burning down! I have a couple of ad hoc electrical projects that I intend to have done and Ill be sure to give these guys a call.
