    I hired Harris Water Main & Sewer to replace the lead water main service line to one of my properties. They were easy to work with, explained the process and showed up on time and ready to get the job done. They had to run copper pipe from my home to the citys main line and they did so with minimal damage and disruption to the home. The area that they cut to install the pipe was done so, extremely neatly. I highly recommend.

    When your water main breaks, you do not have much time to shop around - no water in the house, 3-day notice from the city, lots of water on the street. I made 3 on-line requests. Harris Water Main representative (Elvis) came the same day and gave me a quote that ended up being the best. Another contractor only asked for pictures and quoted almost double. And the third did not even show up.From there everything went smoothly - job scheduled, good communication with the office, places secured in advance, and the job itself was done in a day. The crew (lead by Johnson) was skilled and professional, they encountered challenges and resolved them. Water main replacement is a messy job, but they did it with minimal damage to the plants, front yard, street and sidewalk. I had water by around 3pm, and the pressure is higher now, since the new copper pipe is a bigger size than the old lead pipe.They fixed the road next day. The sidewalk had to wait a bit, but the hole was safely covered and it was not a priority, so did not cause any inconvenience.Thank you, Harris Water Main!

    I can’t praise Harris Water Main and Sewer Contractors Inc. enough. From the opening estimate with Elvis to the completion of a sewer line put in correctly, their work was outstanding!They worked hard and precisely to save a precious tree that survived generations, and was almost in line with the sewer pipe.Even though the crew was tired they made the effort to put back hedges and bushes to their original place on my yard. Days later, they replaced the cement sidewalk beautifully!Elvis responded promptly to our pleas of urgency right away. We had a backed up sewer line and knew that it needed to be replaced immediately because we had raw sewage surging from the pipe. We had received 2 other quotes and Harris Sewage was the most reasonable. Elvis was very fair, honest and knowledgeable. Their competitors in comparison were dishonest and scammers, trying to pad the bill with unnecessary extras such as, tree removals, a new sewer trap, and additional pipe replacements that were totally unnecessary.A few days later a crew arrived at 8:00 am and worked tirelessly, digging a 25-foot long trench that was 10 feet deep and 5 feet wide. They found that the ceramic pipe was broken and raw sewage was leaking into the ground! They braced the dirt with wood and replaced the pipe in a day and a half! Danny was an outstanding superman who and worked tirelessly from 8:00-5:00 even in the pouring rain! They were honest workers and did their job well and with integrity even when I wasn’t supervising them! I am so grateful for these guys and Elvis and would personally recommend them whole-heartedly!

    As COVID-19 cases were hitting peak levels in NYC in April, my building’s sewer line collapsed. Sheltering in place with total septic failure is not a fun place to be. Not able to travel to friends or family and with no public alternative available given the lockdown, things were ripe and uncomfortable for my family and the other people living in the building. Harris Water Main and Sewer to the rescue! Soup-to-nuts, these guys got the job done (the soup was nasty). These guys pulled emergency permits and got to work immediately. They worked into the night to get my job done in three days. They worked professionally and safely. These guys really know their stuff. This was no small undertaking and they aced it. I also shopped their quote and they were right in line with the competition. After seeing their work product firsthand, I would use them again in a heartbeat. I hope I never have to!

    Commenting on their YouTube channel with all the great videos, I asked to have a sweatshirt from them to help represent the company. I fell in love with this company and I don’t even work for them, for them to send me something shows you how dedicated they are to keep the Harris name forever alive and they they strive to be the best. From a heavy equipment operator and a plumber from north Jersey, I am impressed with they portray themselves. If you don’t know them just watch the YouTube videos and you will find out real fast.     The week before Christmas my neighbor informed me that he believed my sewer line was leaking into his basement. This was confirmed and I had three companies come out and give me quotes. I was the fourth house on our Clinton Hill block to do this work and Im the only one who was thrilled by the company that I hired (one house on the block is still waiting on the repairs to the section of the street that was opened which gets performed after the final payment which is due when work is done). This crew worked incredibly long hours and was completely professional. I would highly recommend them to anyone. The proposal was actually a bit lower than the others I received and there was very little cleanup required in my basement (i had expected a total disaster). They were very clear about how the process would go along and answered all my questions.

    Harris Water Main & Sewer are very professional. The were able to complete the job in a single day. They installed a check valve and replaced the lead main water line for me.     These days it feels like you cant do anything without constant follow up. Harris is the exception to this norm. From start to finish, this process was as stress-free as possible. Elvis came out exactly when he said he would be here, gave me some reassurance that they would take care of it, and gave me a wonderful quote. He knew I was getting other quotes and was not worried because of the expertise and value they can offer. This company has experience and scalability that make them an easy choice compared to smaller companies who just have to charge more to get the same job done (over $2000 more).There was no quality sacrificed. The workers were on time, friendly, and most importantly efficient. They busted their backs to get it done in 10 ft of mud in ONE day. The clean up crew was back in a matter of days (without me having to follow up) and the concrete restoration crew was back days after that (again, without me having to follow up). They perfectly restored my home and sidewalk. I could not be happier with my experience. Even the accounting department and VP were wonderful to interact with.Dont hesitate. A lower quote does NOT mean less quality in this case, it means more experience in confidence in what they are doing.

    When I got a three day notice from the city, I knew that I needed to find someone who could come ASAP to fix the issue or else the water would be shut off. I turned to Harris water main and Sewer contractors for help. They came within a few days to assess the site and the problem and sent a team to come fix it pretty soon. They finished the job pretty quickly and cleaned up any residue from the work and made it look just like before the construction took place. I am really grateful for Harris to be able to come as soon as they did and in doing such a great job.

    After weeks of water backing up into our cellar and into the garden floor bathtub and toilet we called a reliable licensed and plumber to snake and investigate the problem with a Borescope/Video Scope. What was revealed blew our minds. Approximately 35 feet into the water main line that comes from our building and connects to the city’s water waste line was a “solid substance” obstructing the flow of water/waste. Think large ‘where the h*ll did this come from’ piece of concrete.Needless to say our plumber highly recommended Harris Water Main & Sewer for the job. Harris visited the home, accessed the problem, gave us a quote (the cost is not for the weak at heart). They placed over 15 feet worth of water/sewer mainline from the base of the brownstone to the city’s mainline.We would highly recommend working with them as they are extremely knowledgable, responsive, and efficient. The work was extensive but they pulled together a great team to get it all done within two business days. Again this is what they do and they do it well. As part of the project they also replaced/ repaired any concrete/asphalt that was broken into during the project.For home owners: If you don’t have it then go and sign up for the Water and Sewer Line Protection Program for your area.     Harris was able to respond within 2 days of the requested work to repair a broken sprinkler pipe at one of my commercial locations. The crew was extremely polite and clearly hard working. It took over 12 hours to complete the repairs and from beginning to end their attitudes did not change. They did an incredible job and were very professional.     We had our main sewer line replaced with Harris (not a fun thing to have to do) and they were absolutely excellent professionals. So far its working great (although were just a couple months from the job). They are a family-owned company that is extremely responsive and Brett, who was our main contact, was a wealth of knowledge and very calming about the process. They got in and did our job quickly and cleared all of the appropriate city red tape to do it in record time. You get what you pay for. This is not a budget sewer company by any means, but its your sewer line so you cant cut corners there :-) You truly do get the level of service and attention you deserve for a big job like this from Harris and Id highly recommend them to anyone who needs sewer work done.

After few search and recommendation from a neighbor I called Harris Water Main & Sewer Contractors. They responded within few hours and scheduled to for free estimated the following day.     One morning last week I woke up to every homeowners worst nightmare; a broken water pipe leaking in front of my house.     Highly recommend.From the owners to the works, they were very knowledgeable and handled the situation quickly and professionally. My water main started leaking Saturday afternoon and DEP shut off the main, leaving the building without water. I gotten a couple of estimates, which were all clustered together and based on Harris history and reputation, I chose them. I wasnt disappointed. The crew showed up at 4am and worked until the evening.Given that my water main was on the far side of the street and on a big avenue, that made the job more challenging but the crew was very familiar with the work. Harris was able to do the job the following day and the water was back on late afternoon, better than my expectation.

They replied quickly, sent someone out to explain the project, how the regulations in New York work and came in at the lowest price.     I was fairly upset when I got a 3-day notice from the city about my leaking water main, in fact i really didnt know what to do. I called my regular plumbers, but they said they werent equipped to do this job. Thankfully they referred me to Harris. We quickly got an appointment scheduled for them to come out and take a look. Once I got the estimate and paid the deposit, they took over, getting all permits and applications, handling the 3-day notice, etc. I didnt need to lift another finger. The job itself was big and messy and loud, but I dont think theres any other way to repair something buried in the sidewalk and your driveway. I was impressed with their speed and efficiency. They got here first thing in the morning and the primary job was done before close of business. Two other crews came by in the following days to do the final repair on the road and my driveway. In all, getting the notice was super stressful and no one likes to pay a bunch of money out of the blue, but given that there was no way out except to fix it, Harris gave me a ton of peace of mind and took the job completely off my plate. I would definitely use them again.

    I had been referred to Harris from a few of my friends who had work done by them but this was not enough for me. I met with the 3 major water and sewer contractors from Brooklyn and Queens and decided to make my on conclusions and I am glad I did with Harris.     We called Harris Water Main when we needed to replace a lead pipe coming from the city main into our limestone 2-family building in Brooklyn. They came the same day to give us an estimate.     Became aware that my sewer line was busted after backing up 2 times in a week. Camera inspection was done and showed the pipe was broken in 4 areas. I knew i was going to experience heavy duty work as well as a heavy duty cost and met with 5 companies that were suggested by contractor friends.I finally narrowed down to two contractors and decided to go with Harris due to reputation and cost. The job was completed before I could blink and could not have been more satisfied. For such a big job, everything went really smooth and was completed quickly.     My plumber told me that my sewer pipe was broken and had been causing my sewage backups. I was not sure where to go for a major job like replacing my entire sewer and searched the web. It became apparent that there are a very select few companies who do this type of work and Harris is the primary company in NYC.The job went very well and was very happy with my decision to hire Harris.     The folks at Harris Water Main are professional through and through. We had a sewer line break in the street, and, as new homeowners, we were pretty upset. My neighbor recommended Harris as shed used them in the past. The team at Harris assured us it would all be ok, explained what the process was to fix it, and got the job done quickly and smoothly. We had a slight issue with the cement being uneven and preventing a door from closing and they sent a crew out to fix it a second time. The only criticism I would have is that there were some concrete splatters on my newly painted stairs but when I pointed it out, they cleaned it up immediately. Honestly, I am a really picky person and most folks wouldnt notice:). I recommend them highly!

    Harris Water Main & Sewer was amazing!I worked with Elvis and his crew. They were absolutely professional. Initially, I thought my plumbing problem was a burst, leaking external sewer pipe from my basement to underneath the sidewalk, and that 8 feet of the sewer pipe had to be replaced. The Harris team dug approx. 8-10 feet deep into the sidewalk and quickly saw that all the external sewer pipes connected to the main city spur were burst and had to be replaced (over 15 feet). They went above and beyond and replaced all 15 feet with new pipes.They got the job done swiftly and professionally. No time was wasted - the crew was courteous and did their job well.     Before hiring Harris Water Main, we did extensive research about them. We looked at their website (provided detailed explanations), obtained a recommendation from our friend (who was impressed with their professional job), and got an estimate from them (a representative came by, took measurements, looked at our water meter, and asked questions before explaining what kinds of services are provided). If you are a tough sell, consider this: We obtained bids from two other companies. The second company came by and asked me where the leak was (wait, shouldnt he know?). The third company provided me an unusually high estimate on the phone based simply on my responses to his questions (without ever stepping foot on my block or property).We were happy with the job that was completed:The work was completed in a timely manner (they finished by 6pm);The work was completed in a professional manner (they laid out paper over our living room to prevent too much dirt from being tracked into the house); andThe work was competent (the four workers dug the holes, confirmed the leak was from our pipes, replaced the pipes, and refilled the holes and answered my questions thoroughly). It has been over one week since the work has been completed, and we do not have any flooding in our street anymore!While Harris Water Main is probably the best in the business, we had a misunderstanding with Harris Water Main with regards to scheduling. We were told possible dates when work could be done when, in reality, nothing can actually be scheduled until money was received (which we had no problems with - but we didnt know!).     I posted a review yesterday talking about my experience with Harris changing my sewer main at my house and that I was very unhappy that they charged me an additional $6000 because of complications they found once they opened up the street. I got a phone call this morning from Ashley from Harris. She told me she had read my review and wanted to discuss it to see what could be done to change my mind and make me happy with the job and with Harris? After we talked about it for a while Ashley said she would look into it and get back to me. When she called back a couple of hours later she had spoke to her boss and they decided to compromise and come to a decision that both of us could live with.In my 50 plus years on this planet I’ve dealt with a lot of contractors and I can count on two fingers the number of times a contractor has been willing to go back and look at a situation that a customer was unhappy with and be willing to compromise and find a solution that works for the both of them and as far as I’m concerned that’s pretty impressive. That being said if I had a situation with my sewer main or my watermain I would not hesitate in calling Harris.As far as doing work The crew of guys that they sent was very good they were pretty fast and cleaned up after themselves which is pretty rare.So on a scale from 1 to 10 1 being the worst and 10 being the best I would have to rate Ashley an 11 !!!     I think Harris is sort of a dispatch service, at least it was in my case; the technician who came out was actually from another company. Anyway, he explained my problem and solved it for $250 on a Sunday so credit due.I had flooding in my basement that started during a heavy rainfall late on a Saturday night. In the morning I found Harris via some articles on their website about flooding and sewer traps. I called their 800 number and they said they would have the on-call technician call back. He called back and hour or so later, listened to my description, said it sounded like a backup in the main sewer line, and promised to come by after his next job and quoted $250. He arrived in the early afternoon, took a look in the basement, and explained how my gutter drainpipes and backyard drains connect to the drain plumbing in my basement and out to the public sewer. He inspected the main trap and showed me how to tap on the plumbing caps to hear the suspected blockage. He thought that the basement flooding was due to a clog in the house side of the main trap, preventing the rainwater from draining fast enough, so the rainwater backed up and flooded into the basement from outside.He was able to clear the blockage using some plumbing-fu and an industrial-sized snake, and the pooled up rainwater behind the house cleared very quickly after that. His initial diagnosis was proven correct. Moral of the story: never flush tampons or wet wipes.

    I first became aware that my sewer line was broken after experiencing three backups in a 90 day period. I panicked and called every plumber I could find.     We recently hired Harris to replace our sewer main and were very happy with their work. We bought an old brownstone in Bed Stuy about 2 years ago. The sewer main was pretty much 50% clogged between the sewer and the house from years of neglect and we didnt know it until the sewer started backing up into our basement. We called Harris because their main office was really close to us and later (through tons of debate and research) found out they are basically one of two well respected sewer companies in the NYC area. I also called the other company who basically vouched for Harris ;) - Anyway, Harris quoted a pretty standard rate for replacing the line. They got the correct permits, came out when they said they would, replaced the line with the right materials and did a pretty good job of cleaning up after they were done. (They also had to jump through a few extra hoops because the area is considered historic) In my opinion, if you are in the hell that is having to decide whether to repair or replace a sewer main, Harris is a good choice.

    From first contact (Brett), this was amongst the most professional group of tradesmen Ive worked with in quite some time.Estimate (replace sewer line: house to city sewer main) was not only the best estimate but very importantly enumerated everything that was included - which was everything (permits & all). Then, to cap it all off, the work was done on schedule and considering the size of the excavation in the lawn, there was no collateral damage beyond the expected churned-up soil - their backhoe operator could probably set a table without spilling any water.

    Honestly I didnt know what to expect. A very professional guy came by the house to check out the problem, gave me an estimate. I saw the reviews on google and figured they have to be good.The water IN pipe was leaking out to the street and didnt have insurance for it so these guys fixed it asap within a day it was done with.2 months later it started to leak inside the house by where the old and new pipe is after a weekend of nonstop raining (it wasnt the pipe, it seemed to be coming by where they put the new concrete around pipe) and they came within the next day after i called them and sent a very nice guy by. He fixed it and showed me the problem and cemented, almost my whole wall, to make sure no leaks ever happen. I really appreciate the patience and professionalism these guys brought.Def worth every penny. I live in ozone park, Queens, not sure if that helps out but if you are by these guys, hire them.

    Before I moved into my house in Brooklyn 5 years ago, the inspector advised me to replace the sewer and water lines going from the street to the house.     Harris has been wonderful! My mother had a broken water main pipe and was at her wits end with 3 day notices of water shut off from DEP. She is in her 70s and was extremely worried. We looked online for a reputable company and found Harris. They were so very professional. They came out to the house, assessed the situation and provided us with a professional contract for the job. Everyone at Harris was helpful - and a big thumbs up to the office staff as well (particularly Ana), they always responded to our requests and were very patient with our many questions. The gentlemen that came out to the house to perform the work were great. They even moved a pipe in our basement from previous work at no additional charge. Harris also provided documentation stating what the issue was with the damaged pipe - which will aid us in trying to receive some sort of reimbursement from the city. Initially, this entire request seemed quite complex and we were worried/nervous on how it would turn out, due to our lack of experience, but your entire team, including yourself and Mike really provided amazing support throughout the entire process. They cleaned their shoes before stepping into our house (basement), and cleaned up very well after filling in the hole and putting cement down.     My experience with Harris Water Main and Sewer Contractors has been a pleasure from the beginning to the end. I needed a partial replacement of a main sewer pipe from the curb to the spur connection on the city sewer. A section of my main sewer line has separated, and it was causing sewage backup into my driveway. My initial contact with Harris Water Main and Sewer Contractors was through their website, and I received a call from them within the hour. They scheduled to have someone come by at 12:30pm the next day. Brett arrived on time, evaluated what needed to be done, and was able to give me an estimate the next day.After emailing them the necessary paperwork, they started immediately to facilitate the paperwork with the city. The contractor was very accommodating to a start date that I requested. Three days prior to the start date, the contractor confirmed that they would be coming between 8:00 - 8:30am. Miguel and three other men arrived on time, and they begin to work immediately. They made the necessary effort to protect my property from being damaged by their heavy equipment. They were very informative throughout the process. They showed me my separated sewer pipe and also the newly pipe they installed. They waited for DEP to inspect the newly installed pipe, and cover the hole afterwards.Communications with them throughout the whole process have been EXCELLENT! They responded quickly to all my emails, phone calls, and questions. They have definitely made a stressful situation a whole lot more pleasant. I would highly recommend them.
