I called A Good Plumber on a recommendation from my friend Ed, in November. I was having an issue with my boiler and steam radiators. They remedied my problem and I hired them to replace the hot water heater, which they did today Dec 11- ‘24! I want to thank the people in the office who were very helpful!, as well as the professional plumbers who took time to explain what they were going to do. And the care they took putting bootie’s over their shoes. A Good Plumber is officially my permanent go-to for any plumbing/water-heater/boiler related issues. Tom installed a brand new water-heater at my mothers house back in October. He had the old one disassembled and removed, and the new one installed and operational in less than 2 hours. THEN, just a week ago, early December, I noticed a slow dripping leak in my mothers basement.Coincidentally enough, I saw Toms very recognizable work-truck parked across the street because he was doing a job at my mothers neighbors house. When I saw him, he immediately recognized me and immediately remembered my mother. I mentioned the slow drip to him and he, within 5 minutes, came across the street to inspect and assess the issue. He had it resolved in less than 15 minutes. He and his Apprentice are both highly professional and highly capable. Unfortunately, I fear that the boiler in my mothers basement, that has been nothing but excellent for the past 40 years, is starting to show signs of decline. I called A Good Plumber Corp. for a problem with the kitchen sink in the basement of my house and it was really a very good experience. I set the appointment and they kept in contact with their arrival times (and as a matter of fact they arrived early, which was fine by me!). The representatives showed up, they were courteous, professional, and completed their work in a very efficient and timely manner. They asked questions about the problem, examined the pipes and surrounding areas, then informed me of the issues causing the problem, formulated a solution and gave me the costs. While they were working I had some questions which they answered informatively and without hesitation. After the job was completed, they cleaned up and removed any debris. The reasons to call a plumber is never a pleasant one, but this service was excellent and I will definitely call on them again should any other plumbing issues arise. Another stinky situation required the replacement of an old and ill-fitting sewer trap cover, and the storm drainage to the city sewer main was then cleared to prevent potential problems during heavy rains.Additionally, our inefficient gas dryer exhaust piping was thoroughly cleaned out and the flexible and antiquated indoor portion was replaced with efficient and code-compliant rigid exhaust piping. And lastly, team Four came and made two more holes in the ceiling and wall and then I was informed that I had reached my quota for insurance; that I would have to pay out of pocket $1200.00 to get the job done. The price tag is high, but luckily they accept credit cards. Also I liked that they werent pushy...they told me one more thing needed fixing but when I declined they just said thats fine.

I’ve had trouble in the past with plumbers either being sloppy, unprofessional, incoherent, untalented, scam artists, and nice but just average as if that was a high enough standard to strive for. A Good Plumber is a totally different beast, they are very easy to communicate with and upfront with all their pricing, almost neurotically so (which is a good thing). Tommy took his time to tell me what he was going to do to diagnose my shower leaking down into our floor below, and then he took his time methodically ruling out different possible causes until he came to his well-considered conclusion. In other words, I trust that he knew what he was doing - and that was the best I could hope for after 3 other plumbers left be leaking and baffled after taking my money.My advice is to give these guys a try and you’ll at least feel like you’re being treated fairly by a competent professional who will leave your house in good condition and give you peace of mind.

Tommy did a great job rebuilding the gas line, after it was shut off by National Grid due toa gas leak. He has a great personality and is very considerate. He was able to complete the job expeditiously as the family with little kids was affected by the shut off. Although the company is not cheap, overall I am very satisfied with the quality of their work.Update 2 years later: I had a different issue at my 80 years old house. The houses main water line has burst underground and flooded the boiler room. Tommy has arrived very quickly, investigated the issue, came up with the mitigation plan and started the repairs. He and his colleague Danny did a great job completely rerouting water line above ground and figuring it out how to reconnect it with all existing connections. I am very satisfied with the quality of work and professionalism of this company. Once again, they are not cheap, but totally worth it especially in addressing complex emergency situations .

The plumber was prompts, polite, well spoken, and cleared my shower drain to my satisfaction. This is the second time Ive used their services and I will again someday, Im sure. A bit pricey for a drain cleanout, but worth it for peace of mind. They are local and use frequently in my neighborhood.
