We have been so pleased with the service we have received from Witt for whatever our repair needs are. A few times it’s been plumbing issues. Chuck was recommended by my neighbor. This past Monday we woke to a leak in our bathroom sink. I didn’t ask to have Chuck come out. I just wanted someone available to fix it in a timely manner. I was SO please that it was Chuck who was assigned to do the repair. He is very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I will remember to request him whenever we are in need. This was the first time we had Seth come out who assisted Chuck. Very nice young man who I an sure will learn a lot from Chuck. Seth also was very polite and professional. Thank you, Witt Mechanical. I am glad that Witt also services electrical needs. They handled our AC issues a month or so ago coming out on off hours. We highly recommend Witt for any of your plumbing or electrical needs.

A gentleman named Chuck came to the house, it was earlier than expected which was a pleasant surprise. He was knowledgeable and friendly and explained the possibilities of what may be taking place with the pipeline. He did not try to upsell me on either products or services that were not needed. He went the “second mile” in showing me other plumbing areas to pay attention to which was appreciated. If I ever need plumbing services again, I know who to call!

Chuck Adams and Seth came and addressed a water leak in my basement. They quickly diagnosed and corrected the problem. I did not have to wait long to get an appointment and the service providers were knowledgeable and professional. Mr. Adams was gracious enough to look at another issue and was able to provide an estimate. I have been very satisfied with all services I have received from Witt Mechanical. This includes plumbing, electrical and HVAC.

We were having an issue with our heat pump not turning on. Shawn, from WM came out to help us. He was patient and extremely knowledgeable and was able to diagnose exactly what the issue was and rectify it in a timely manner. Our unit is working at top efficiency now. The whole experience working with Witt Mechanical anytime I call on them is exceptional, from calling in to their office to the end result with their technicians. Their prices are very fair and the service comes with an old school mentality with an urgency to make sure your problems are fixed the day you call them. Chuck Adams and Seth did an excellent job of getting the plumbing for our shower done efficiently and they left our bathroom cleaner than it was when they came in. Cant say enough good things about these guys and out experience. Sorry to be long winded with this review but this company, from the owner to the technicians are the best you will find, period!

I called Witt on Sunday as our heat pump went out on Saturday. I spoke with Tim and explained the situation to him. He had the Sales Manager Brandon call me back. Spoke with him and explained I was on oxygen and really had a tough time with the heat. Brandon drove from his home in Forest to the shop in Bedford called me about an hour later told me they had a unit in the shop. He then drove from the shop to our house at Smith Mountain Lake. He looked at our unit and told me he could have someone to put the new unit in on Monday at 8:15. They arrived at exactly 8:15 and started work .The service guys Steve, Mike and David were very professional. This company will always be my go to for anything from now on. The best people and service anyone could ask for!

I have used Witt Mechanical Twice now with excellent results. My first time was a service call for our HVAC. Recently, we wanted to add generator. John Thacker came out and showed us our options on purchasing a standby generator or having Witt do the electrical work for a portable generator. We chose the portable option; John did the install and made sure I knew the process for using it.I appreciate how well Witt communciates. They also support our local high school sports.

He replaced my kitchen faucet in under an hour and this even with having to replace supply lines as my original ones were too short to connect with the new faucet. My name is Donald Bagby, my wife contacted Witt Mechanical Tuesday July 16,2024. One of their technicians ( Chuck ) had an opening in his schedule on the same day, came to my home and diagnosed for me what I was experiencing with my bathroom sinks. Told me what to get, and I went that day and purchased the items. I called the office back and the lady scheduled the repairs needed for the same day but by the time I got the items needed Chuck was assisting a coworker and asked if I could have him come by the next morning, my wife and I agreed. Chuck arrived at the time agreed to but I had purchased items that I had to swap out. Chuck was very patient with my wife and I. Chuck is very professional in all aspects of what he did for me. The office staff is more than accommodating, very friendly staff. Thank You. Job well done.

After conducting research and finding an outstanding builder (MAC General Contractor) to construct our dream log home on Leesville Lake in 2016. We wanted to add a very special item to the property (Grandpa Wiederstein’s glider). Our plans were old and we were having difficulty locating the proper hardware and the necessary professional advisors that could guide us through the building process. We found those professionals at Witt Mechanical, Inc. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. Jeff and Don were very welcoming and were determined to provide the necessary assistance to resolve the issues. We would highly recommend this team. They are both professional and dedicated to resolving any issue that comes their way. The work environment is very friendly and customer focused. Job well done!!

My initial contact with Witt Mechanical was via email to inquire about the possible installation of a mini-split. Within 10 minutes of my correspondence, an office person called me to set up a time to talk to a sales representative. An hour later, Brandon S. was at my home to assess my situation and make a recommendation. By that afternoon, I received a proposal and a written estimate. That all occurred on a Thursday. The next Monday by 2:00 pm, a mini-split had been installed in my family room. I am thrilled with the efficiency of the unit in a room that has been nearly impossible to maintain a comfortable temperature. I was impressed by and appreciative of Witt Mechanical’s prompt response to my initial inquiry, and the fact that their employees were at my doorstep at exactly the time that was scheduled. Today, three days after the installation, Brandon called to check about my satisfaction with the unit. I am well pleased with their service, and I will not hesitate to recommend the company in the future. Thank you, Witt Mechanical, for a job well done!

I called Witt Mechanical to ask them to install a transfer switch for a portable 9.5 KW generator I recently purchased. The company sent over two technicians, John and Mike, who were extremely knowledgeable about generators and electrical loads, and completed the work professionally and quickly, and left the worksite very clean. I was particularly pleased with the time both men spent with me showing me how to use the transfer switch safely. I given them an A-plus for their fine work!

Our heat pump (AC) quit working Wednesday night. I called Witt Mech. Thursday morning around 9:30am, was told a tech would contact me between 11:30 and 1pm. I got a call before 11:30am from the tech telling me he was about 25 minutes out.Lee Yates showed up and diagnosed a failed capacitor, replaced it in minutes. Turned on the power and fan didnt come on but the motor was hot. He said since the unit had been left on the thermal overload on the fan had probably tripped. Used our hose to cool the fan motor and the unit worked perfectly.Lee also showed me the correct way to clear a plugged drain line correctly so as not to damage the float switch. He recommended a cleaning with the supplied brush each spring.The drain line had sludge in it but was not the problem.My heat pump was mfgd. in 2009. Lee told me about a surge protector that would decrease the start-up amperage load and extend the lifetime of the unit. He installed it for a demonstration and the results (on start-up) was a decrease greater than 50% in start-up amps. Another benefit would be somewhat of a reduction in our electric bill. IMO the primary benefit is the reduction in start-up amp draw on a 15 year old unit.I am very pleased with the work that Lee performed and professionalism shown by demonstrating the surge protector with no obligation to purchase.

Our doorbell was buzzing constantly, so we unhooked a wire and then it stopped. But we had no idea what to do next. We called Witt and within a couple of days, Adam came and took a look. Adam and his apprentice were both friendly and conscientious (put paper booties on over shoes). Adam assessed the problem and was able to teach his apprentice too. He was so kind and informative. We have called Witt for every household repair imaginable since moving here 7 years ago. Every visit has been a successful visit. The repairmen are consistently courteous and professional.

This is the BEST company by a wide margin in Bedford. They have friendly people, good office staff. I had a new Trane installed 10 years ago, and it is still running great. It has not broken down once. I do get it checked once a year. Plus it brought my electric bill down being so efficient. Jeff Witt a good person and has a great company. Update: 11/18/20, Dylan came out and checked my system and told me all the things that were working and in order. He also the the Flux Cap. was in very good shape, as many of these fail. First time homeowner and my sump pump and drain backed up and overflowed very late last night during the horrible torrential rains that would not stop. I called five different 24-hour emergency plumbers before reaching Witt Mechanical (they were the first to answer the phone). Speaking to Amber was such a relief. She immediately recognized my panic and told me what to do--turn off all possible water sources from inside the home, etc.--and did so calmly and patiently and walked me through all of it (Im still learning what all the switches go to as not all are labeled). She then scheduled me for first thing in the morning (which saved me an emergency fee). I feel a bit foolish as by the time Chuck showed up (early in the morning and on his birthday which is more than I probably would be willing to do so that was very kind) the drain and pump were clear and dry (well, the water in the pump area was at a normal level). But never the less he checked it all out, made sure it was running fine, and then waited patiently as I turned all the water sources back on and flushed the toilets to make sure it wasnt backing up. He also checked the kitchen sink drain as it was now making a weird noise--in relation to the sump pump going off--and made sure that was fine too.I appreciate Amber and Chuck so much for helping me through what was sheer panic. I also appreciate both of them telling me about my system--thanks to Chuck in particular I now know what pipes are actually going where which is good.100% would recommend them, I know if and when I need a plumber again I will be calling them first. Happy to be adding them to my list of reliable home care/maintenance professionals.

I contacted Witt Mechanical first thing in the morning to request that someone come out and take a look at my unit as I had some concerns. I spoke with Cecelia who was very friendly. She scheduled a technician to come out shortly. The tech, Josh, came out as scheduled. He was also friendly and very knowledgable. Josh did a thorough overlook of my system to ensure that there weren’t any immediate concerns. He also provided education on the proper functioning of a HVAC system. I really appreciated this as I am a first time homeowner so any education opportunities are welcome. I would recommend this company and plan to utilize them for any of my future needs!

Witt Mechanical recently replaxed one of our heat pumps. We discovered they also do plumbing work. We replaced our kitchen countertops and needed a plumber to remove and reinstall the sink. During the month November, 2022 I had Whitt install a 26 Kw whole house generator. John Thacker from Whitt provided excellent guidance on the type and ability of the unit that we purchased.The installation was done professionally with minimum disruption to the interior of the home. They departed leaving behind a clean and tidy area.Unfortunately I have had a horrific experience with AmeriGas, the company that I needed to make the final connections to the propane tanks. Whitt and company were patience and worked though the three month delay in getting the system connected.Yesterday, John came back for final inspection and a walk through of the unit. As it turned out, AmeriGas did not make the final connections to code and we did not pass inspection.John, made adjustment to his schedule to comeback today and do the job correctly, now in code the unit is live.I can not say enough about the customer service and support in getting the system installed.Highly recommend Whitt for any of your needs. Our home generator of 25+ years stopped working. After calling Witt Mechanical, John Thacker quickly came to diagnose the issue and determined that it was not worth the risk to repair. He promptly sent us quotes for a replacement generator.Within the next week, John and Adam Davis came to replace the old generator and install the new one. They were extremely professional and informative. Although some issues arose bringing things up to code since the old generator was so old and was too close to the heat pump, they fixed everything needed. Adam was amazing with the electrical work and he even found two unsafe electrical issues in the crawlspace that were unrelated from previous electricians. He was able to fix those as well. Over the top customer service, thats how I would sum up working with this company. My heat pump motor failed during our last cold snap and I was looking for a replacement part desperately on a Friday afternoon. I called them at 4:50pm on Friday and they had a motor, the problem is they closed at 5pm and I live an hour away. They offered to stay at the store while I drove there to get my motor. Because of this I was able to get my heat pump working for the weekend. On top of this they were the group used by the contractor for my house on the original installation. I just assumed the part was out of warranty but they told me it is still covered so I was able to get the motor under the warranty. I would have gladly paid and never questioned. Its very rare to find such exceptional customer service these days. I will continue to go to them even with many other companies closer to my house.

My husband, my kids, and I have spent the last 10 months living in an RV while updating a farmhouse built in 1880. The house needed a complete overhaul; we took it down to studs and hired Witt to set-up temporary electrical for the RV, rewire the house, install new plumbing, and do the HVAC. These aspects of the renovation were our largest expenses, so you really want someone who makes the expense worthwhile. I can say that Witt has been extraordinarily helpful, professional, patient, and friendly all the way. Jeff, the owner, thoroughly explained the renovation process. Since I acted as my own GC, Jeffs explanations really made the process a lot less intimidating! He regularly came out to the job site to check on progress and to explain things to me. He also stepped in to help when my well pump died in the middle of renovation. Witt Mechanical doesnt work on wells, but he knows who to call, and he got the pump fixed the very same day. Wow!I also really want to commend Witts employees. Our electrician, John, as well as his team, handled my relative ignorance with patience. I know my explanations were not as clear as they could have been if we had a GC or an architect, but I really appreciate their hard work. Most of all, I must say that our plumber, Mike, went above and beyond with all he did in this house. Mucking through crawl spaces, patiently explaining things to me, helping me pick out a bathroom layout, showing up with a smile and some encouragement.... Mike is GREAT! Jeff Witt has a wonderful team, and I am so happy that I was able to work with them.Bottom line: If you have a big project, I highly recommend Witt Mechanical. I had a great experience with Witt Mechanical on a challenging plumbing project. I called several plumbers in the area before calling Witt Mechanical. Some of them never called back, some of them gave me a hard no, and some of them said it would be months before they could even look at the job. My experience with Witt Mechanical was nothing like that. It was 100% positive.They called me back the same day and had an estimator come out the next day. They started a few weeks later.My job involved hooking up a large detached garage to my propertys existing septic tank and well water. There were some significant restraints on the routing of the septic lines due to health department regulations.The crew that performed the work did a great job. They dug a trench 2-3 deep and 150 long with several turns and involving some significant grades. They persevered through numerous large rocks, one of which needed a jackhammer and a generator. I think their excavation work was on par with a professional excavator.After completing the job they performed all of the backfill, neatly leveled the grade, reseeded the grass and laid down straw. Everything was top-notch.I will be using Witt Mechanical for the electrical and HVAC part of my building project. I would trust them for any plumbing, electrical, or HVAC job.

In the past, Witt has installed a Trane heat pump system and just lately replaced another, older compressor. The older Goodman compressor was (just barely) covered by warranty and not initially installed by Witt. Witt was able to get Goodman to cover the outdoor unit under warranty.All personnel were knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt. I would recommend Witt for your HVAC needs. I discovered they also provide plumbing service and are a dealer/service provider for Generac generators.Woody
