When my instant hot water heater went on the blink...you know, the one that I got a special price on 8 years ago, I tried to contact the installer for service...HE DIDNT EXIST ANYMORE.In desperation, I found Mark Plummer...did not know Mark but after his survey and honest assessment of my unit, I had the choice of service to the existing unit or a replacement unit of superior quality with outstanding warranty, I decided to replace and upgrade the unit on Marks recommendations.Mark is a third generation plumber, in other words...he knows plumbing inside and out. Mark explained the shortcomings of the installation he was having to replace and I understood, he had the patience and took the time to help me understand. I am an old retired electrical contractor...I dont speak plumbing.Mark had given me his estimate promptly, I accepted and the following day he was there on time and replaced the unit that same day. I wanted to commend the owner of this business for going above and beyond. I live out of state on the east coast. At the time my elderly mother with dementia was living in Auburn with the help of an aide. Last March her water heater died and I was frantically making calls from EST trying to get it replaced. Not only did the owner of this business do so on short notice, he replaced my moms water heater while he was still on the mend from an illness. The work, timeliness and price were all excellent. Mark installed a new tankless water heater in our home last week. Our water heater was very old and started to leak so I gave him a call. He came over 45 minutes after we spoke on the phone and assessed our current water heater as well as explain our options for repair or upgrade. Ultimately we decided to upgrade to a tankless water heater and we are very happy with that decision. What was most outstanding to me about Mark is that he was focused on making sure our new water heater was safe and efficient for our family. After being quoted an exorbitantly high bid from one of the “big name” companies to replace a failing water heater at our rental house, my husband called Mark at Pro Hot Water Service. Not only was Mark extremely helpful over the phone, he quoted a much lower bid to replace the water heater. Mark was out the next day and replaced the water tank with a better quality tank than what the “big name” company was going to use. He also educated me on all the “up sale” items the “big name” company wanted to tack onto the job and how they weren’t necessary at all, but gave me the option of having them done if I chose. After a year of mis-information and failures to address my plumbing problem from other plumbers, I finally contacted Mark Plummer of Pro Hot Water Service. Mark came out the same evening to look at my problem. As soon as he arrived, it was clear that Marks years of experience and knowledge came right to the surface and he immediately identified our problem and provided the correct solution as well as a spot on estimate of costs to fix the problem. We arranged to have a new water heater installed , as well as addressing the hot water flow issues through out the house. Arriving home, I discovered no hot water. Upon investigating, the problem appeared to be the pilot light was not lit. Im not all that mechanical, and after reading the safety instructions with illustrated pictures of explosions if you make a mistake, I decided to call Pro Hot Water Service, and to my surprise, Mark picked up (on Saturday I will have you know). After a short explanation, Mark provided two options; 1) he would provide a service call on a Saturday with no appointment or 2) he would work with me over the phone to see if together we could rectify the problem. After sending him some pictures of the water heater, Mark efficiently diagnosed the problem, and talked me through the process of relighting the pilot light. Mark provided this service with no fee! I definitely have found my new plumber. Im so appreciative for his generosity, professionalism, skill, knowledge, and overall kindness.

We woke up to a flooded garage due to a leaking water heater tank and called Mark at 7 AM. He rearranged his schedule so that he could restore our hot water by that afternoon. His work is very clean and efficient. We have used Mark for two big projects: replacing a boiler and piping for a hydronic radiant floor heating system; and replacing the leaky water heater tank with a tankless system. Our tankless water heater had failed, we were without hot water and needed remedy asap. Pro Hot was at our house 45 minutes after my call, went over pros and cons of repair vs replace and was able to install a new unit during the same visit. Excellent work, happy in every way with what was done. I wish I could have done comparison price shopping but getting this taken care of outweighed that decision. I do believe his charges were fair.

Woke up to find hot water heater not working. The pilot light wouldnt stay on. I called Pro Hot Water & Plumbing Service on Sat. Dec 31 (a 3 day holiday weekend.) Mark answered right away and came to our house in about an hour . He quickly repaired our issue (a broken thermocouple) and also reviewed options for when we need to replace our 10 year old water heater. He was extremely helpful and informative. Water heater went out while out of state, arrived home on a Holiday, Mark showed up day after Memorial Day and installed a Bradford White 75 gal water heater, recirculating pump and upgraded all the fittings. Besides the absolute professional installation, Mark explained step by step what he was doing. Ive installed several small water heaters over the years but never a job this big and Mark told me things on the internal workings of water heaters and why some work better than others that I had no clue about. One issue with the old 75 gal water heater was varying temperatures with the hot water, he explained why and with the Bradford White should never be an issue. A water heater is a water heater - NOPE. Some are far superior to others. Thank you Mark for the great installation.

I am always skeptical and cost conscientious when having to hire a contractor. When the water heater supplying my kitchen went out a few days before Thanksgiving I started calling around. A late evening email to Pro Hot Water was answered within minutes. After corresponding with Mark Plummer for a few minutes I was able to put a lot of my skepticism to rest. Mark came out the following afternoon and offered a couple of solutions. One, to replace both tank-water-heaters with a tank-less unit. A second option was to bridge the water-heater supplying my bathrooms to supply my kitchen. I was considering the bridging option when Mark phoned with a third option. He could replace my 26 year old propane kitchen hot water heater with a much more efficient 20 gallon electric unit. Mark assured me the 20 gallon unit was more then sufficient to supply my kitchen and dishwasher needs. The fact that Mark called back with a third option was impressive. I broke-down the price and my first impression was his price was pretty high. After making a few calls to other service providers I found Marks price to be a little higher but reasonable. I contact Mark and asked him to schedule the work at his earliest convenience. With Thanksgiving two days away Mark went out of his way to make sure my kitchen hot water supply was fixed before Thanksgiving. The kitchen hot-water was back up and running the following day. I monitored Marks workmanship and work ethics closely. Both were very thorough and professional. After everything was completed I reassessed the price. Accounting for the time it takes to go out and purchase the new water heater, parts & materials, the cost of the unit and materials, time it took to remove the old unit, install the new unit, modify the lines, cap off the old exhaust system, haul away & dispose of the old unit and the commute out & back twice. Everything considered the price was very fair. I also had to remind myself I needed and was willing to pay a little more for a professional, who was direct to the point and someone with a LOT of experience!! That is exactly what you will get with Mark. May you never have to call on him, but if you do you wont be sorry. Kind Regards, Rich
