They quickly assessed the issue, cleared the blockage, and went above and beyond by identifying that the original installation of my sewage pipes had been done incorrectly with the wrong parts. They handled a potentially complicated full vent stack replacement in our house without doing any demolition and we are so grateful for their expertise and professionalism. Hi, a few weeks ago I reached out to Windy City Rooter. After receiving a few different estimates, I realized that WCR was the correct choice. I was able to meet Max, his brother and son on the job site. If you want a company with a huge amount of experience for major plumbing work especially excavation, this is the company 👌. Work is done in a timely and professional manner. When major work needs to be completed, its easier to go to sleep when you know the work was done correctly. I had a water line, partial sewer line and boiler replaced on y investment property

Windy City rooter saved our film camp. We had multiple children in our studio and the toilets broke down. With the studio being full we were in a bit of a panic mode. We called Windy City Rooter and the office manager Tara was so understanding and so efficient and knowledgeable that she had her team at our location within an hour. Alan the plumber was very knowledgeable and pleasant and patient with my lack of knowledge into the intricacies of plumbing and he had both bathrooms up and running within another hour. The owner of this company really takes pride in hiring the most efficient and personable staff and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. I got lucky finding Windy City Rooter!!! I had to have my sewer line replaced and a cleanout installed about 5 years ago and after getting several quotes Windy City Rooters was the one I chose, they werent necessarily the cheapest but not the most expensive either however I did feel that they were the best for me, they were very customer oriented and made sure I was satisfied with the job when it was finished. I recently had a back up in a different section of my sewer and there was no question of who I was going to call, they came right out and took care of it. 5 stars

I was in need of emergency service due to a back up at a 24/7 Fitness center. Getting things working as soon as possible was crucial. After calling a few local plumbers and all not taking the emergency seriously, I called WCR and right away they took things seriously as well as extremely knowledgeable. The owner reached out to me directly and right away set up a game plan to get out to the property asap!. Upon arrival he was able to quickly diagnose the issues and was able to perform a HydroJet service right away to get things cleared and flowing properly. This whole job was extremely professional and I was very pleased with the service and communication that was provided! I highly recommend WCR for any plumbing needs!

On a Sunday night (9:15) my downstairs toilet overflowed. After snaking it for 30 minutes with no positive results I turned off the water and started calling emergency plumbing companies. On my 4th attempt I got a live person at Windy City. They were here by 11pm to assess the situation. My septic was backed up. The main water was shut off. Bobby called the office and made arrangements for fixing the problem on Monday. A septic company was out the next day to pump the septic. The owner (Max) and crew were out to determine a resolution. They found the problems and expedited the repairs. The entire team was very professional, informative and respectful. Ive never heard of this company, living 90 minutes away, but the entire experience with them was unbelievably positive. From the service crew to my interaction with the office staff was superb. I absolutely love the customer service I was provided from Windy City Rooter, Inc. Their team was very responsive to my service needs. The technicians were extremely patient during the process and went above and beyond when removing and installing my water heater. I had to call them back out for something that turned out to not be a problem with their installation. They were very understanding, arrived within the hour, and waived any charges. Well, I saw Windy City Rooter in the neighborhood and decided to give them a try. Max came out and I explained what was happening to the basement when we get heavy rain and the foul smell from the basement drains. He explained what was happening and the solution. Max gave me an approximate quote for the work without any pressure. We decided to get the work done. Karlee, was great too as she kept me updated on the work schedule for my project. Cort and crew showed up and took care of business. I now have a sewer cleanout outside. We are pleased with the work.

We have used Windy City for small projects like sink clogs and large projects like hydro jetting and sewer line repair and they have exceeded expectations every time. These types of jobs are not always pleasant that is why you need a good company you can rely on. Their slogan is, “We drain your pipes, not your wallet.” They do the superior work and at an affordable price. They arrive on time and when they say they will. I come from a family of contractors, and you can just tell when you are dealing with pros or not. Windy City does it by the book without cutting corners. They do it the right way the first time. From the techs and plumbers to the back office, they are top notch. Cort has run a couple jobs for us and not only is he quick to respond, knowledgeable, skilled, and polite, he is honest and will tell you the truth about your situation. A truly honest contractor that is not afraid to be straightforward with you and relay the information you need up front is invaluable. I will continue to use Windy City for our plumbing needs.

Short Story: Great Service and very satisfied!!Long Story:Thanksgiving week 2021 our sewer backed up while doing dishes. I had been calling around for plumbing work and Windy City Rooter came up while talking with our neighbor. They came our early the next morning so there would be time to see if the water would settle and then determine the fix. I knew in advance that the sewer line had started to shear leaving the house due to the ground settling. When they arrived, they gave us a quote right away, we gave them the ok, and they pulled permits and went to work. The problem we ran into was that the sheared pipe had to be replaced and additionally the clay tile line was collapsed on the way to the street; hence the backup. Now at this point I didn’t have any reason not to trust them, however, I put myself in the trust but verify category so when they scoped out the line with their camera, I personally watched the monitor because I had never work with Windy City before and for all I knew they were putting on a show. They weren’t, I trust them.In the end, we had to replace the sewer line going through the house and the sewer line all the way to the street. They had 3-5 workers here for I want to say 4 days total. It was a larger project that they couldn’t complete until the week after Thanksgiving because they had to get it all inspected before they could close the hole. It was pricey but it was several employees for several days with a lot of material hauled away, new material and rock brought in, and new larger PVC throughout, all during inflation and a shortage on material. Did it hurt, yes. Do I blame them, no. I’ve been to Home Depot; I see the prices and I get it.I delayed writing the review for two reasons. First, there was a city reimbursement for part of the cost of the install near the street. Windy City notified me of the reimbursement and pointed me in the right direction. I got the reimbursement a month or so later. The second reason is the mound in the front yard. At the end of the project, Windy City left a mound running along the entire project. I was told by Windy City that the mound would go down as the ground settled since they were digging down around 8 feet. In the last few days, the ground thawed and we got lots of rain so with a little raking and a bunch of grass seed, our yard be flat again and looking like normal.Overall, we’re very pleased with the work performed and service provided. Every employee we met was very kind and allowed us to randomly pick their brain over the course of several days. If we could change anything, we would change when we did the work and not who did the work. Working over a holiday with COVID and inflation was not ideal but we would still have Windy City Rooter do the work. That being said, I also hope to not see them anytime soon.

I just hired Windy City for the second time and am thoroughly satisfied with the quality of their work and continuous follow-up and responsiveness, once again! We live in a townhome complex where many of the sewer pipes have failed since the homes were constructed in the 80s. Many have experienced failure this year. Windy City has been called on to replace many of these pipes on a moments notice. Aware of the pending problem facing homeowners who have not had sewer pipe replacements, Max at Windy City suggested that homeowners at risk have their sewer pipes checked (either with Windy City or another plumber) to avoid a breakage, overflow (or flooding), costing significantly more money to repair! I did just that and asked Windy City to check my system. The sewer pipe was gradually slipping away from another pipe that would soon result in a separation. (I could see the problem when they exposed the pipes.) Our homeowners association suggested that we secure a second estimate, which we did. The second plumber also said that the sewer pipe had just a few months left, if that, and quoted me a price for the job. Windy Citys quote for the project happened to be less expensive by about 20%. But, it was their willingness to fully detail the project work, back up their work and promise a standard of excellence to satisfy the homeowner as well as their reputation that motivated us to hire them. Furthermore, they were willing to arrange for a company to replace the cement that was removed to access the pipe and to guarantee their work, as well. They are a family-owned business with many employees who are family members who care about their customers!

Hope you never need to have major surgery done on your sewer system but if you do please consider the services provided by Windy City Rooter. You wont regret it.The owner Max personally came out to inspect the work needed to be done by the use of camera feeds into the sewer lines. While doing the free inspection he explained very plainly what the job entailed.It took 4 full days of work by as many as 9 men busting their tails in the summer heat. After completing the necessary difficult and dirty work, Maxs son Joe even did repairs that were not listed in the contract. At no extra cost.Price of course is always a big factor but knowing just how much labor and materials went into this project I feel very confident I got the best deal possible.Besides cost, the other factor needed when faced with major home repairs is TRUST.After dealing with Max, his son Joe and their team they are certainly an old school small company. What they say, they will do, and they have earned my TRUST completely.Also, a shout out for their phone operative Tara, seems like she is always working but is always on top of any questions or concerns. Plus, shes friendly, very knowledgeable and funny.

We had Windy City Rooter troubleshoot and diagnose a chronic issue we had with cracks in our foundation and water in our basement. It turns out that our drain tile system had failed and needed to be replaced. A substantial and nasty project to say the least, consisting of breaking up the concrete in the basement, hauling it out, digging a new trench, laying a new drain tile system and laying new concrete. In addition, we needed to excavate the exterior wall to patch the cracks and seal it up. As we all know, these days it can be hard enough to get some contractors to even come out for an estimate. These guys were professional from the start, providing a reasonable estimate for the work to be completed. We agreed on a start date and they began right on schedule. They agreed to give me a good sense of what the goals were for each phase of the project and how they were progressing each day and provided status each step of the way. It helped give me peace of mind. Max, the owner, was personally involved and gave me his contact info should I need to get in touch with him. His son, Joe, led the project and did an excellent job of keeping the project moving and keeping me informed. I was also on site each day they were here. I cannot say enough about how hard their crew works. This is literally back breaking work hauling broken concrete out of the basement bucket by bucket. Their guys were friendly, courteous and respectful of the property. They did excellent work throughout and while this is an ugly job, make no mistake, it was done professionally, with great quality and they delivered on everything promised. That is something that is highly valued and I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

Max and his team are amazing. My mom has a small condo with a water heater. Every other company wanted 2-4 times the cost to replace due to the water heaters location. Max came out and advised me what I could do to keep cost down. (Remove cabinet doors myself! So easy.) On the day of service, Mike and his partner came to do the work. It was not easy, but they were professional and did an amazing job. As a woman, I have been talked down to by service professionals so many times. Everyone from Windy City Rooter was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be using them on my own home and recommending them to everyone who need services. Windy City did a stellar job with my massive water issue at a great price. I called at 10:30 am, they were here within an hour and unfortunately there was no accessible clean out for them to send a camera down to assess the situation. So they had to dig, they had a mini excavator to my property within a few hours as it was at another job they were finishing up. They had a 6L x 4w x 8 foot deep trench doug by 4:30pm and at that point they were able to show me video and let me know a pipe had collapsed in a certain area there were further issues up the line that should be fixed. I wanted to stick with our original estimate due to limited funds and he let me know it can either be addressed now for more $$$ or they can just get me by with their original estimate but Ill need to have it rodded out evey year as maintenance. I know since Im in construction myself that sometimes once everything gets doug up you can find further issues so Im well aware of this happening quite regularly in my field of construction but Max from Windy City was very honest and just let me know that there will most likely need to be cleanouts once a year if they didnt rip out everything all the way to the house. Im very happy with the work completed and the honesty of Windy City Rooter. Id highly recommend them.This is the 2nd job they have done for me the first was just a clogged drain that they fixed on Thanksgiving day at an extremely reasonable price and no up charge for holiday or evening hour deployment of a crew. Ill say it again highly recommend these guys, they will get it done quickly and at a reasonable cost.

Windy City Rooter is an exceptional pluming company that does great work and actually cares about their clients! During the extreme negative temperatures back in jan our pipes froze and subsequently burst.. water pouring into our kitchen . This was a terribly difficult situation to go through especially with our young child at home . Max was so professional and kind , walking us through the entire process start ti finish . They came out to our home immediately! They worked diligently to diagnose the problem and fix it on the spot! Max and his crew remained at our home hours into the night after hours to ensure the job was done correctly and to prevent further damage in our already significantly damaged kitchen . Max understood that this not only was a plumbing issue but a very emotional and stressful issue as it is our home, he was very receptive and understanding of that aspect . He took extra steps to ensure a mitigation crew was arranged swiftly to avoid potential mold. Several weeks after the work was complete we needed to contact Windy City rooter for additional info for insurance purposes. Max, Tara and Laura were all immediately responsive to my calls and emails! They made sure all our needs were met well after the plumbing services were complete ! The best in town without question!! We had our drain backup at 10pm. We got it to stop and Windy City arrived around 1230am right after another job. They cleared the clog, scoped the drain line for no extra fee, and found a crack where the drain left the house for the septic. Definitely a 5-star rating for Windy City Rooter. After a year of minor problems and a weekend of multiple backups in the basement we called Windy City Rooter (WCR) on a Monday morning. WCR responded to our call and rooted out the sewer pipe. A video inspection of the pipe clearly showed that the 50+ year old cast iron pipe was damaged and needed replacement. WCR provided us a very fair price for the work and they were able to start the following Monday. From the beginning of the job we were very impressed with the expertise and professionalism of the WCR crew. They protected the walls and floor of the house where the work was to be done. They installed the new pipe on the first day and we were able to stay in the house that night. The next day the WCR crew finished up the job, cleaning up thoroughly, doing an incredible job leaving just the filled in trench, saving as much of the lawn as possible.

From the start, Alan and team came to inspect a water issue we were seeing from the floor drain in our 1940s built home’s basement. After rod and camera he discovered what came to be a larger issue. We took Alan’s recommendation and Max (owner) came to the house the next day to inspect himself. Sure enough, Max made a recommendation to resolve the issue. This involved new pipes inside and out, as well as closing out an old catch basin, fixing the previous owner’s improper plumbing set up, redirecting our clean out outside of the house, closing off an unused basement bathroom, fixing our downspouts and cementing the floors and sidewalks impacted. We continued our business the next week, when Brian and Dave inspected and installed a new vanity in our other bathroom. I had an issue with the first toilet that was installed because it was too close to the front wall. So these 2 guys went out in the snow, found the white cap near my front door, and went to work. They were done in about an hour. I requested a quote/estimate for coming to my house and see why I had no hot water in my kitchen sink. I sent that request Friday afternoon, and had an appointment for someone to come the next morning (Saturday). Saturday morning I received a phone call and I talked to the plumber on the phone, and he told me that based on what I said I likely needed a new faucet, and so should purchase one over the weekend and they could come on Tuesday to install. He even scrubbed the area on my sink where my old faucet had been, underneath the area where my prior deckplate had been. None of them were able to root the line or even properly run the camera to identify the root cause of the problem. We explained the situation over the phone and they came right away. I could tell these guys are swift, knowledgeable, very professional AND very competitive price-wise. We had to find a plumber quickly when we found a gas leak and our gas was turned off by Nicor. We chose Windy City based on all of the favorable reviews and their service area. We couldn’t be more pleased with our choice. They responded immediately and fixed the gas problem quickly. We requested that they look at a sewage issue which led to finding a collapsed line to our septic tank. They quickly sent a crew of 5 guys to dig up and replace the line. We developed an appreciation for there professionalism, quality of work, and fair pricing. We decided to have them replace old water and sewer lines to our 2nd floor bathroom, and then remodel the entire bathroom. This lead to painting several rooms throughout the house. We were assigned Larry as our project manager. He was on top of the work at all time and provided constant communication. Their work was first class and was preformed in a timely manner.

Once again I called on Windy City Rooter for my plumbing needs. The toilet on the main floor was leaking into the basement. Allen came and assessed the situation. I needed a new wax ring…but I also needed to update my 32 year old toilet. Allen explain why it was necessary…which I had known for a while. Anyway, I have a new toilet and no more leak. After calling several plumbers on a Saturday morning because my toilet overflowed and caused a great amount of damage, I came across Windy City Rooter. As soon as i talked to the young lady on the phone, I knew i called the right place. I needed my sewer line rodded again and a camera inspection. Shannon and his partner were at my house quicker than the time frame given and explained everything to me plain and simple, gave me the costs up front and gave me options. After finding that my sewer line was collapsed under my basement floor and i could not use my toilets or any water, Shannon again gave me an upfront price with an added option that i thought was a great idea. I agreed that the price was a great deal and he showed up Sunday morning as promised to fix the broken tile, they dug up the front yard and installed a clean out so ant future rodding could be done from outside the house and at less expense. the crew was polite courteous and treated my house as if it was their own. Max the owner of Windy City Rooter actually came to my house on Sunday to thank me for the work and make sure everything was done to my satisfaction. i have already recommended them to several friends. This is an honest, ethical, professional company that anyone would be proud to say did work for them. I Highly recommend them for all your plumbing needs.

Excellent! We had a pipe burst on Christmas day. Today of all days! I called about 30 plumbers trying to get someone out, realizing that Im not the only home affected by a burst pipe. Max and his son called me back and were able to come to me within 1 hr. All the way from McHenry, I live near norridge in Cook! They not only were incredibly fair at pricing, but extremely professional and treated us like family offering us tips to avoid future instances. These guys are the best. I just bought a house in Antioch. Needed a plumber looked online called a few companies. But charges me to come out and look at the issue I didn’t like that. This company didn’t charge me. I talked to the office lady forgot her name but I told her what was going on. She said she could have someone be sent out when I get home from work around 5. I said that will work they showed up. It was in my crawlspace the plumber didn’t complain about that. I really liked that. Showed him the issue It was the main value broken. Told me he can fix it now. Told me the price u said yes please. After he was done he wanted me to see the work he did. Let me tell you very happy with it. Happy I found my loyal plumber company. Max and his crew installed a complete new flood control system, including sump pumps, a new catch basin, check valves, and replaced multiple old and cracked sewer pipes in a 100 + year old Greystone. Not only did they do a professional and timely job, they also always, at the end of every work day, left the premises clean, and the work areas separated. Additionally, Max was incredible helpful in working with, and dealing with the insurance company. However, the largest compliment was their efficient follow through responses, after the job was done and paid for, to any concerns and/or adjustments that cropped up and needed to be resolved quickly. I would highly recommend Windy City for any major, or small, sewer or plumbing problems.

Ill recommend Windy City Rooter to anyone that will listen. My initial call to them was for a camera inspection on my sewer line. Shannon showed up and made sure to answer any questions I had before beginning any work. After putting the camera down the line, a blockage of tree roots was discovered. Shannon went over the options on how to proceed and offered his advice when asked. He gave up front costs on all the options, so that I could make as an informed decision as possible. To make a long story short, I decided to replace the clay tile sewer line with PVC. Shannon got me a contract and I put the 50% deposit down, he also took the time to explain what was and wasnt going to be included in this work.Fast forward to a week later, the permit is approved, materials dropped off and a crew of guys shows up ready to work. Cort took the time to go over the scope of work again and answer any questions I had. Shortly after Cort and his crew started, Max showed up to see if they needed anything. Over the course of the next 6 hours, the old sewer line was dug up, the new sewer line was put in place and the trench was filled in. Cort explained about how the trench will settle and level out and what my city will be coming to do as cleanup. The crew did a sweep of my property to make sure nothing was forgotten or left behind and cleaned up everything.This is all a very long winded way of saying Windy City Rooter did an exceptional job.Oh and did I mention that it was done at a very affordable price? Because it was. After talking with Max, he makes it very clear he wants to save the customer money whenever possible.5 Stars10/10 would recommend.If you have any plumbing problems, Windy City Rooter should be your first call.

Basement is been having sewer backup issues for the last couple months now. I called a few places and they suggested I install a clean n check system so when the city sewers backup my basement/house won’t have any issues, but I wouldn’t be able to use any of the water sources in my house while there’s heavy rains. This didn’t make any sense to me especially in 2020. I Called Windy City Rooter and Max and his team came out the same day to give me a no-obligation estimate. They concluded I needed a flood control system installed (which allows me to use all water sources in the house at any time). Within a week his team showed up and installed the entire system in 1 day. I couldn’t believe how efficient they were. Every step of the process was thoroughly explained to me and they answered all of my questions. At no time did I feel pressured or obligated to sign up with them. I have been using Windy City Rooter (WRC) since I have purchased my home in 2005. They have installed a sump pump and injector pump.I even had them repair several cracks in my foundation. During the snowstorm this February, I woke up to water on my kitchen floor that seeped downed to my basement ceiling. I called Windy City as I thought it was a broken pipe. They arrived very quickly to my home considering the terrible weather that was occurring outside. James and Larry determined that is was not a broken pipe but my sprayer from my kitchen sink. James disconnected the sprayer for me. He told me to purchase the faucet and give them a call and WRC will come back and install it for me.The next week I purchased a new faucet and sprayer. I called Windy City and to send one out the plumber to install it for me. James and Larry were not available. They sent Brian and Sean who are great! They installed the new faucet for me in no time. I am planning to replace my shower head and shower handle in my master bathroom. I will be calling Windy City Rooter to come and install it for me!There plumbers are very knowledgeable and their customer service is awesome. This is why I call Windy City my plumbing family! I called Windy City for what I thought was going to be a simple main line cleanout, but unfortunately for me it turned out to be a much bigger project than that with broken/separated pipes and lots of roots. WCR was very transparent and showed me the problem on their camera, explained what my options were, and didnt rush us into a decision. Their estimate seemed fair so we decided to move forward with the work, and THE VERY NEXT DAY they had permits pulled and their team of 10 or so guys descended on my basement, hung tarps and protected the floor, and got to work jackhammering my floor and digging up my front yard. By midafternoon they completed the project, had our pipes working again, and were cleaned up and gone before dinner time. But here was what was most impressive to me, and will make me a repeat customer. When they replaced the toilet drain it was cemented back into the floor in a spot that made the toilet difficult to use. Without any pushback they agreed that it need to get fixed, so the next day they had a small crew out to my house to dig out all that cement they had just put in, repositioned the pipe, and put new cement back in. It didnt cost me a cent, it didnt take them weeks to get back to me to fix this because they were caught up in other projects, and it didnt take me having to argue or convince them that this needed to be fixed. I will use WCR for my future plumbing needs, and I would happily recommend them to friends and family.

Last night my son alerted me to a hissing/buzzing noise coming from the garage. I had water from the upstairs bathroom leaking through the garage ceiling drywall down to the electrical box. I called Max at Windy City Rooter who was able to get Shannon and his apprentice to my house in about an hour. Max instructed me to shut off/ dont use any water and dont use any more electric than I have to. Once Shannon arrived, he cut a small portion of drywall on the ceiling of my garage where water was dripping, and diagnosed the problem. I had a bad seal under the toilet as well as a leak in the toilet tank itself. He used new parts and was done in about 90 minutes. I appreciate the professionalism and care both guys displayed as my kids were sleeping already. Thank You for coming out on a Sunday night for no extra charge. Great work guys!

Max, Joe and the team are wonderful and very professional! He performed a very large job at my house around 2008. It was over Christmas until New Years. Not being able to get laundry as clean as usual and having heavely discolored water I had Windy City Rooter come to assess the water situation and a possible solution. They gave recommendations on different products and then a full run down of cost. Once the guys showed up they wore masks and booties. They installed a reverse osmosis system, water softener and new toilet. Now my water is so clear and laundry super clean again. Highly recommend them. Thank youWCR team.

Amazing service. On time. Brian came over here yesterday. Was really polite. They couldnt fixed that day cuz it was bigger problems. He explained to me well and price clearly. He told me that he is going to try to put me in schedule the next day. And he put me on schedule first thing in the morning. Cort came over on time. Was flexible with my work schedule. Really happy we found this company! Just wish we had found them sooner. They get straight to the point and dont charge for services that are not needed. Their motto is 100% accurate. The main sewer line was badly clogged and they were able to fix it as well as install a clean out trap outside. Will definitely use them in the future.

Joe and Jim from Windy City Rooter fixed a leak in my main water valve. Then they installed a new valve that I can use to shut the water supply to the house. This is a valve with a vertical handle which did not come with the house but needed to shut off water. They installed this new valve in about 40 minutes and did a quality job. Their price was reasonable.

THE BEST!! I put off repair to my sanitary sewer line as long as I could. After speaking with Joe at WCR, he assured me they could do the job without the extensive repair and cost I had been given by others. They were able to avoid going thru the asphalt drive, and only accessed sewer line thru the pavers. Pavers are easy to repair, asphalt, no. Plus, didnt want the ugly repair right at the entrance to my house!! They crew is wonderful, they work like crazy!! Protected my drive, Cleaned up beautifully. Polite and accommodating workers.
