I had to write a solid review about these guys because the experience was absolutely perfect from start to finish. I had hired another company before contacting Nova Fireplace & Stone to install a BlazeKing wood stove and DuraVent chimney in my home only to be strung along for over a month. Finally I found out that they can’t work in my county due not having a business license 🤦🏻‍♂️. I terminated the contact with the previous company and immediately contacted Dan and Stewart. They were extremely responsive and very professional the entire time. They had my permit for the install in my inbox within 48 hours of applying. During the install they took extra care to make sure my home stayed nice and clean. The install spanned over 2 days between the chimney and stove but they sent text reminders for each appointment and confirmed with an email too. I also found out that they do Generac generator installs so I will be reaching back out for that service later in the year.. These guys did everything they said they would in exactly the time frame they told me. 5 star service is hard to find these days but Nova Fireplace & Stone nailed it!

After purchasing a home, we called Nova Fireplace & Stove to do a thorough check of our fireplace before using it. Low and behold, the fireplace was missing both the transmitter and receiver. Pretty much rendering it useless. We were so impressed with their knowledge and options from masonry to mantels, we decided to have them redesign our entire fireplace. New gas insert with white washed brick from floor to vaulted ceilings. They were extremally punctual, had excellent communication, and did an amazing job. We even signed up for their yearly maintenance package. If we could give them more than 5 stars, we would. Highly recommended!

10/10 Would recommend Nova Fireplace and Stove!I wanted to replace our 25 year old wood burning fireplace with a linear gas one, and to make a feature wall around it flanked by cabinets and floating shelves. I met with four different contractors to get estimates. Most were comparable in cost, some recommended certain fireplaces and stone that I needed to purchase for them to install, some seemed to know more than others. I mentally decided on a contractor and began my search for the gas fireplace I wanted which led me to Nova Fireplace & Stove. I spoke with Dan and explained what I needed and what my plan was. He gave me recommendations, answered all of my questions in so much detail, and provided additional information for me to consider. He also mentioned that he could do the construction and provide the ledgestone I wanted, as he is an authorized dealer of the brand I had been looking at. Even though I had another contractor in mind for the job, I didnt think it would hurt to have one more person come out to bid. Dan arrived on time to measure and get the scope of the project. He knew SO MUCH and brought attention to many things the other contractors failed to mention or even consider. From Dan, we learned of different venting options best suited for our needs, and units with Cool Touch Wall Technology - eliminating the need for a mantle (which I didnt want but was told I had to have) - to protect the TV hanging above. My husband and I decided then and there that Dan was definitely the man for the job; he was by far the most experienced and qualified. Dan took care of permits, scheduling inspections, and checked in with us often to keep us up to speed and in the loop. Dan is clearly a sought after and busy man, but he worked his schedule around the other contractors involved (electric, A/V, painter, cabinet maker). Once the project was underway, Dan was unbelievably proficient and detail-oriented. The old fireplace and surrounding brick was removed, new pipes and vents were placed, and the framing and cement board for the 60 Regency gas fireplace was installed. Dans measurements to my specifications were SPOT ON, perfectly level, and he did not cut any corners in the building of the frame for stability. That thing was SOLID! Dan instructed his apprentices during the course of the project and he expects nothing less than perfection. Several times I overheard him telling his guys to be mindful of this or that, and to do things a certain way so as not to waste any materials (even though there was plenty extra). Everyone was so professional, pleasant, and respectful of our home. Dan and his crew were always on time, great at keeping the project moving, cleaning up as they went, and they ran like a well oiled dream team machine! The next task was hanging the provided shelves, and installing the cabinets - cutting and fitting them for the various access panels. Ill spare the details, but Dan went WELL ABOVE AND BEYOND for us here! The final phase was stacking the stone and providing instruction on how to use our gorgeous new fireplace. Dan completed our renovation as an utmost professional and a total champ - battling unforeseeable COVID setbacks, physically working in the snow, and even welcoming his new baby! He is an absolute expert at all things fireplaces, and is a pro at SO many things beyond his specialty. He even pointed out some potential issues/hazards he came across in our home that had nothing to do with the project, and told us how to easily rectify them with no benefit to him. If I could hire Dan and his crew to do all future projects in our home, I would; I dont think I could find anyone else who works with such precision and ethic. This room has been transformed exactly as I had envisioned. We spend so much more time here now, toasty warm, in awe, and absolutely confident that we really did find the best man for the job.

You cant do better than Nova Fireplace and Stove if you are looking for anything related to masonry fireplaces, gas or electric inserts, or wood stoves. They have an attractive showroom with lots of models on display and Stewart, the manager, worked with me throughout the process of selection and design for my new electric insert. As a result, I was able to get exactly what I wanted. Dan, the owner, and his expert team handled all the installation issues to a tee. They do the complete job without subcontractors and they take care of all necessary permits. With 22 years in the fireplace business they can do it all and they do it very well. Nova Fireplace and Stove is customer service at its best! I could not be happier with my new electric fireplace. Its beautiful! and the 4-sided custom-built faceplate is the stunning finishing touch. Its a warm and cozy complement to my living room and with a single touch on the remote magic happens.

This is an excellent service company that provides a wide variety of services; in my case, it was repairing my gas fireplace. They get 5-stars from me for 4 reasons. In order, they are: honesty, professionalism, quality and value. This is my first experience w/ this company. I needed several components of my 20 yr old fireplace replaced. The team lead was Dan. His team arrived as scheduled and was very courteous. Dan genuinely wants to minimize your cost. Im an engineer and enjoyed watching and learning some of the tricks of the trade from Dan in repairing this type of equipment. My repair required a plumber and an electrician. Dan is a Master in both trades. If I ever need any service work done that is within the bailiwick of Nova F and S, they will be the first I call.

The construction phase went smoothly and transitioned the area into a 2-story fireplace ready for our tile guy. After the job, I realized the outlet boxes above the fireplace need to be moved and called Stewart. Within no time, I had a scheduled appointment to perform the relocation. We recently had work completed on our chimney. We highly recommend NOVS Fireplace and Stove. They gave us a solid estimate and were able to complete the work quickly. We also ended up purchasing a gas insert to replace our old gas logs from them. That installation also went very well.By the way, if you have black spots running down your chimney or on the shoulders beside the chimney you could have water getting in. We found our when the drywall inside, above the fireplace starting showing signs of moisture.

First of all I was happy to find a company willing to service my 20 year old gas fireplace that was installed by a different company that has gone out of business. Our technician, Adrian, did a great job and I appreciated his honesty about the broken logs only being a cosmetic issue. He didnt find anything else wrong and the fireplace was fine until about a month later when the pilot went out and we couldnt get it re-lit. I called back and quickly got an appointment, he came and lit the pilot. Again I appreciated his honesty when we discussed replacing the pilot assembly. They didnt charge me anything for the second visit which I thought was great customer service.

Outstanding people to work with during selection and installation of a new linear insert replacing a tradition insert. From our first discussion to installation was 5 weeks. Arrived on time. Immediately laid tarps throughout the work area. They then laid plywood over the tarp to protect the hardwood floor. Adrian reviewed what they were going to do so I had a complete understanding. He and his assistants completed the job quickly and exactly as discussed. Clean up was perfect. One week after the installation, they called to make certain that we were satisfied. Dan came to our home and measured and responded with a timely quote. We had another company also quote. I had a prefab wood fireplace that was hardly ever used because it didn’t provide adequate heat. I went to the NOVA Fireplace showroom. Stuart and someone from his team walked through different options for me to consider. I decided to get a total system replacement – with a new Regency G800EC direct vent gas fireplace. Dan applied for a Fairfax County permit. I paid a 50% deposit. A few weeks later they did the job. They ran a gas pipe to the side of the house for a new propane hook-up. They demolished the old feature wall, hauled away the old fireplace and everything else, and installed the new system all in one day. No damage was done to my home. They encased the work zone in plastic, so no dust entered my living area. They handled the electrical circuit connections without incident. They had to go up into the attic (as well as onto the roof), which in my house is a hell hole. But they accomplished their task without issues. On the second day the county inspector passed the project, then the crew installed the drywall. Three days later, immediately after the propane company hooked up the gas tank, the team returned to start the fire for the first time. They showed me how to use the remote, answered questions, and gave me other useful information. Overall, it was a smooth, efficient, professional operation thanks to Stuart, Dan, and their team.
