Derrick was an absolute grace to our family. Not only did he answer on the weekend for an electrical problem, he came out on the same day to help us out. He has the most approachable and friendly personality, and had no problem explaining what was wrong with our electrical system. He was also very fair on prices, and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Professional, knowledgeable, and the best in town! They were able to fix an issue quickly that other HVAC companies were unable to. The unit has never worked properly since it was installed 4 years ago when Gwynn installed it. Michael was able to fix the issue and get it working properly with one short visit.

Being in the real estate industry, I have worked with many contractors over the years. There are only a handful on my list of go to people who are good, knowledgeable, trust worthy and professional. Derrick Scales is definitely on that list! We are renovating an old house and had to practically rewire the whole house. Derrick was the only electrician who provided me with a detailed estimate. I felt his price was fair, but the main reason why I chose to go with Derrick was because I felt I could trust him.. To show up when he said he would, to complete the job and to somewhat stick to his estimate. We have enjoyed working with Derrick. He is very nice, communicative, responsive and of course, a good electrician. :)

Several years have gone by since I left my first review of Derricks work (below), but I want to add that he is still the best electrician to work with: a man of integrity, kind, thoughtful, honest, and fair. He will always be the one I call and recommend to anyone needing electrical work. When the inspector knows and respects your electrician and his work, passing everything quickly and with flying colors, you know youve found a gem.[My original review] There isnt a star score high enough for Derrick Scales. From the first contact to the final inspection, he has been a dream to work with. His work has been thoughtfully planned, explained well, and extremely reasonable. Hes remained positive and accommodating, even when presented with the repeated challenges of rewiring a 90 year old home. He truly goes above and beyond in every aspect, and we recommend him wholeheartedly to anyone needing quality and reliable electric work.

Cannot recommend Derrick and Scales enough. He arrived on time and did excellent work. He was unable to complete everything the first visit since I had purchased a chandelier that wouldnt work but he graciously returned later and hung another one for no extra charge. Will definitely use again in the future.

Mr. Scales was very professional. He showed up on time for the intitial estimate and for the job itself. I asked for clarifications and modifications of the quote and he got back to me right away. I had to delay the work for 6 months due to work travel. He was very gracious about the delay and told me there had been some increased cost in materials, which was not much. I am very happy with the results. He did a great job with the light installlation (recessed ceiling lights) and the room looks so much better. I was inpressed with the quality and professionalism. I asked him to replace a bathroom fan and light and he was able to rebuilfd the original unit which saved some money. He also installed an exterior light, and as metioned took out a chadelier and replaced it with 4 recessed light. Everything was done in about 6-7 hours.

We used Scales Const recently to replace some ceiling fans, defective door bell, outdoor lighting and they did fine work. Have some other projects we plan to use them for in the coming weeks and fully expect another A+ job from Derrick and his team. Highly recommend them to anyone in need.

I highly recommend Derrick for your electrical needs. Ive had him for two jobs now, very friendly and down to earth. His pricing is definitely fair. The second job took him less time than he originally thought and he charged me half the original quote. Hard to find honest people that would do that.

I gave Mr. Scales 5 stars but really want to give him 20 stars! Mr. Scales motto is “Electricity Done Right!” I will have to agree. He arrived on time, did the wiring on my socket for my dryer and was out the door in less than 20 minutes. He was pleasant and very professional. I will call Mr. Scales for all my electrical needs. I NOW HAVE AN ELECTRICIAN!!

My husband and I have used Scales Construction on multiple occasions - no job is too small or too big. Mr Scales has helped us with everything from hanging a chandelier to installing a new meter box and a new distribution panel. Each and every job has been completed with a high level of attention to detail and obvious expertise. Mr. Scales takes the time to answer, in detail, any questions. I had repairs done to my house and the contractor had to take the meter box off the house. Duke energy said an electrician had to put it back on. Mr. Scales was the only one to call me back. He did a fantastic job at a reasonable price. If I ever need anything electrical done, this will be my only call. I cant thank you enough.

Mr. Scales took my call on a Tuesday afternoon and set up a reasonable time came by the house with what I thought was a bad switch to my ceiling fan, he got to looking at it and it was just the remote sensor in the fan, I asked him just remove that sensor and my fan was back in business, very fair about the rate and on that note we took a look at some ceiling fans on my back deck that I’m gonna have him take care of real soon! I will definitely recommend him to all my friends and family! Keep up the good work and fair rates Mr. Scales!!! Ohh not to mention I got to return my ceiling fan I bought just Incase double winner !

AMAZING service! I contacted Scales Construction about outside electrical installation at my home. Derrick gave me excellent advise over the phone with the initial call (no other contractors did this), he then came out to my home the next day for a free estimate. For my scheduled service, he arrived on time and finished the job under the estimated time. As he began to start the job, he discovered an easier way to complete the job which would save time and me money! AMAZING! We are completely satisfied with the work and customer service. We absolutely will be using this, and only this, company for our electrical work in the future.
