We had a great experience with Midwest Plumbing. He was referred to us from a restoration company. I called James in the morning about a potential water leak in our house that was causing mold - and he was in our house, inspecting later that same afternoon. And what was even more impressive is that he took the time to walk me through his inspection and his assessment. He was honest with me that he could not find a plumbing cause for our leak and didn’t charge me anything for his visit. And he said he was still willing to work with our insurance or provide any documentation if they needed it. I find that level of honesty and professionalism rare these days. I told him that I was leaving him saved my phone for all of our future plumbing needs.

REVIEW UPDATE: James assisted with a drain leak last week and unfortunately we still had a slight leak a few days after the repair (we hadnt used it until a few days later). Not to worry though because I contacted James and again he was able to squeeze us in same day and take another look. He had a hunch on what was causing it and he jumped back in and repaired it with new materials. It was fixed! I couldnt be happier with his customer service and prompt response. Thanks again James!

We used James from Midwest Plumbing for our whole house rebuild. He worked on our project from start to finish. He was pleasant to work with and it was clear he took pride in his work. He installed all sorts of plumbing requests, tankless water heaters, steam shower, reverse osmosis water filtration systems, bidets etc. He worked well with the other contractors and it matters when you have several specialities working together simultaneously. He also kept a tidy workspace around him. After we moved in, there was an issue with one faucet but with one last visit from James, he was able to fix it quickly and efficiently. We would call back Midwest Plumbing to work with James again for any of our plumbing needs.

Kind, skilled, and non-judgmental, James helped install shower heads that weren’t working and I had attempted to change myself (which didn’t end well). Additionally, he changed the temperature of the water for our bathtubs. He also consulted me on how to best run the gas lines to a new grill we are building for an outdoor kitchen. We had a gardening company install raised beds with a drip system in our backyard in 2021, and for one season it all worked correctly. But the next 2 years it was a problem, the whole system was either leaking or not working. If we tried increasing the pressure it leaked from multiple joints and the box, if we decreased the pressure it couldnt reach the raised beds. James came in 2022 and put in a pressure regulator on the outside piping which solved the problem. In 2023 I had trouble getting it back on and he came out and got it working right again. Now, 2024 he walked me through the correct valve positions on the phone AGAIN because... ADD??! This year he figured out on the phone that now the original box has gone bad and is leaking. I really appreciate how helpful he has been, and would recommend him to anyone.

Yesterday we noticed staining and water dripping from the ceiling under the tub located in the upstairs main bathroom. Since our residence is currently on the market we were rather concerned about this situation. Our realtor recommended Midwest Plumbing and we gave them a call. James was able to fit us into his schedule that afternoon. After much searching with a borescope, he was able to determine that the overflow drain was loose allowing water to leak out when the drain got splashed. It was hard to find, but a simple fix. James was knowledgeable, positive, and encouraging as he worked on the problem. We will call Midwest Plumbing if a need arises again.

The day of the appointment James called to let me know that hed be arriving within 30 minutes. James inspected the sump pump, recommended that it be replaced, and reviewed the price with me before proceeding. Went ahead with his recommendations. He completed the job quickly and the installation was stellar; even better than what was previously installed. James followed up with pictures of the pump he replaced, the new pump, and the installation. Overall an excellent experience. Cannot recommend Midwest Plumbing highly enough. Responsive. On time. We had an issue where a pipe would leak when we would drain a bathtub. James was able to quickly diagnose the issue where he discovered a pipe had been cut into during the original home construction. The section of pipe was in a difficult to reach location, but he was able to remove the damaged drain pipe and make the repair. I had originally used a different plumbing company to re-route plumbing for a primary bathroom remodel and so many things were done shoddy, incomplete, and out of code. I was most impressed with the responsiveness after my call. I had an old sink connection (2 water lines) in the now-finished basement that were sticking out into the room. It was a hazard and only a matter of time until some tripped on one which could have broken the connection flooding the basement. With a special fitting tool, James was able to reduce the waterlines very close to the wall, getting them out of the way. Now I can relax about that hazard. He did the work at a fair price and cleaned up completely. Will absolutely be using Midwest Plumbing again for anything plumbing related.On another visit James did some specialty plumbing work for my wife in her garden. We had a problem with the previous installation of a line from the vacuum breaker to the box. James replaced all the PVC piping with copper and connected the box and extended underground lines to match. In the end the works looked beautiful. We will be using him from now on.
