    This the second time I have used their Services and after this time I can say that the Scottish Plumber will be the only Plumber I will use in the future. I needed to replace an Ejector pump that was in a tight spot under the stairs. Andrew and Jonathon were both very professional and Personable.     The Scottish plumber staff, especially Pedro and Anthony who performed my service were professional, friendly and had wonderful communication with me.Pedro and Anthony performed a much needed Precision Hydro Jetting and were so friendly and communicated so well with me showing the camera images to me so I could see the blockage and reason it occurred before they had resolved the issues.The wonderful way I was treated allowed me to feel confident in my choice of plumbing companies and gave me a much needed feeling of trust which is imperative when dealing with a service company such as this.I am extremely pleased with all aspects of the help and service I received from the Scottish Plumber staff and would highly recommend them.

    They did a good job and the everyone was very nice. My only watch-out was that they were a bit disorganized. We had about 5 things to be fixed and it was clear that when the worker arrived he was not aware of the full list of projects wed signed the contract for. This resulted in him not having all the tools and materials he needed so we had to schedule a follow-up visit for everything to be completed. If you are having multiple small projects done at the same time, its worth a call in advance to ensure they are coming prepared to complete everything in one visit.

    The Scottish Plumber was my third and best estimate. I could tell right away that Tony knew what he was doing when he assessed the plumbing issue in my condo and that he was going to work to be careful and try his best to avoid breaking tile in my bath. The other two companies bid that they would break through the wall and included that charge and a charge for new fixtures. Fast forward: my plumbing issue is fixed and the tile is still intact. Thank you, Scottish Plumber and Tony!

    I had a leak underneath the sink during the evening. I got this company to help me out. Someone called me and gave me great advice to stop the leak temporarily. In the morning, Ken came around and fixed the issue for me. He even showed me around and taught me a few things. Ken was very patient and informative with his work. He showed empathy towards me when I was explaining to him what went wrong with the sink. I would definitely use this company in the future.

    The scheduler needs to better inform the crew of the job scope. One plumber showed for deep vault pump maintenance. For safety, should have been two. No ladder. Plumber used a bucket & muscles. Work was done. Plumber was excellent.

    10/3/2024Our old house had main drain issues... AGAIN. Jonathan came to snake and clear the line but the roots were too thick and the issue was actually more grave. Jack and Jonathan came.back the next day, put a camera in the drain and confirmed there was a bad line leading to our city sewer. Jack had the team come and remove the old drain pipe from under the basement floor and replace it. While they were there, they also installed a outside clean out, which their price was very economical, compared to other companies. Once again, the Scottish Plumbers saved this old house.1/15/2024Our bathroom was remodeled by a General Contractor. During the Chicago freezing days, our drain pipe started flooding and there was water all over our basement. Our only bathroom became unusable. With the help of Alec (again) he was able to determine the issue with our drain pipe. Alec called in Jack, and Jack was able to get his team together to fix the chop shop plumbing our contractor did. Needless to say, it was a nightmare, but the Scottish Plumber team, lead by Hugo, took their time, got everything done RIGHT, and put our minds at ease. We had a working bathroom in 3 days. I cant recommend them enough! *note: This story was a horrible nightmare and my one paragraph does it no justice*xx/xx/2023Alec came and installed our kitchen sink. Our house is very old and Alec was able to adjust everything for us. He was very patient and kind the entire time he was here. He got rid of our porcelain sink and replaced it with a new standard stainless steal sink. Weve had it installed for about 4 months now and it has been great!xx/xx/2022We got a new stove and the company that sold it to us said we needed a gas valve installed. Scottish Plumbers crew came and handled it in about 1 hour.xx/xx/2021The shower was backing up one evening, which caused a waterfall in our basement coming from the ceiling. The following morning, we contacted The Scottish Plumber to book an appointment and the only opening the dispatcher had was for next week!However, the dispatcher heard the panic in my voice and doubled and tripled checked the schedule to see if she was able to fit us in. She found an opening and told us that Adam would be there between 2-4.Adam sent a notification to let us know he was in route and showed up way before his estimated time of arrival. Once Adam came in, he took a look at our main drain pipe, explained what needed to be done and immediately got to work as soon as I agreed.Adam is extremely confident, quick and knowledgeable in his trade. He took time to explain to me the work he was doing and gave me tips on what needs to be done to prevent future clogs.Once he unclogged the main drain pipe, he tested everything out, cleaned up the mess and everything has been running smoothly, thanks to Adams outstanding work.The Scottish Plumbers will be my go to plumbers, without a shadow of a doubt.10/10 Highly Recommended!

    I called Scottish for a second opinion for a very large expensive project. Jessica and Margie in the office were very helpful and reassuring. Tim T came to our house, and he was prompt (even early), efficient, professional, and knowledgable. He was able to diagnose and fix the problem in about 15 minutes, at almost $1k less than I was quoted yesterday by a different company just to diagnose :-) We wont call anyone else in the future!

    Ken was fantastic. I initially had what was thought to be a small problem that turned out to be a big problem. Ken discovered all the issues and pointed them out to me. the age of the house and pipes hidden behind the walls were near collapse. He showed me everything that was wrong and needed fixing and managed to do all the extensive repairs in one afternoon, not to mention he has a fantastic demeanor.     Fred, Rojo, and Joe, were great. I had a sewage pipe break and needed to replace the hot water tank. Fred did such a professional and detailed job. He took the time to do a quality job. It says a lot when plumbers have no problem with you looking at how they are performing the work; because they are doing the job correctly.     I have been using the Scottish Plumber for years to route out our sewer line. They are easy to schedule, always punctual, and extremely professional. They have also put in a stint in our line and power-jetted as well. The last plumber that came was Tom. He showed up right on time and was in and out in less than 30 minutes.     I have had the Scottish Plumber to my gut rehab home may times over the past few years to remedy suboptimal renovation work. They have been timely, efficient, friendly, and helpful each and every time. The estimates are exact or maybe a little over what I ended up paying.     Kieth Gorman showed up for IMO (and his) a very difficult job to replace a cartridge in my 20 yr old Grohe kitchen faucet. The faucet is no longer made. He saved me $500 +labor. Anyone tells you replacing an old Grohe cartridge is easy does not know what they’re doing. He’s a life saver

    We have used them and have been happy in the past but wanted to give a shout out to Joshua Bennet. We had a leak in our first floor ceiling that was seemingly only occurring when our third floor shower ran. Joshua did quite a bit pf sleuthing before discovering the source which we would never have thought of. He was very professional and took care of the issue quickly. We were initially drawn to them because of their (rare) free estimate policy -- which is amazing.But we had some major sewer issues that required them to think outside the box -- and not only did they have the technological know-how to create a workable solution, but they went above and beyond to see the project through.In particular, Bill was incredible throughout the project -- working with our general contractor and our exterminator (the crack was allowing rats to get in) to make sure that the house was completely set.     Im so glad I went with Scottish plumber. They dont mess around. They get the job done. I had 2 cracks in my main sewer pipe and they put a stent and cleaned it out.     What can we say about the service… This is the third time we’ve used them and they are INCREDIBLE! We used them this time to replace our kitchen sink and also fix some major back up and plumbing issues we were having.     First of all, I would like to thank Katie for all her efforts to quickly locate an available tech to our home on the afternoon of Nov 25th while other companies told me they dont have any plumbers till Monday morning 11/27.We had all of our toilets/sinks backed up and sewer waters overflowed on first floor bathroom and basement.Ken and his helper Anthony showed up on time.     These guys are amazing! They were quick to schedule and very helpful. Vincent did a great job when he was at my house. He worked diligently for hours in cold misty weather. He took his time to try and correct my issue. My issue needed further work due to a huge root blockage. Scottish Plumber quickly sent out another team the same day to help. I do not recall their names, but they were very helpful and worked so hard.I would recommend The Scottish Plumber to anyone and plan on using them for all future plumbing needs.Thank you also to Joe and Simon

    Our old water heater had started leaking over the New Years holiday weekend, we knew it needed replacing. It was beyond old, more than 15yrs. We also had an old water softener we wanted take out. We contacted them and their technician got back to us right away, on Sunday. When we explained the situation the technician said that because we were upstairs that they would have to wait to do the job, he didnt have the extra help that was needed to do all the work. He then helped advise us on how to reduce the damage and told us hed help get us taken care. We appreciated the honesty and the help. We got an estimate an paid a deposit that day. The next day, Monday. The office called us and let us know that we were on their priority list and will be serviced in the morning. The technicians arrived on time did great work. Our situation threw them a curve ball. We had some A/C drainage lines in the way. They innovated the install and made things right. We will use them again.

    Always polite and professional, this visit was no different. I happily recommend them and am a loyal customer. Great service, even when I think the technician realized the job was going to be more difficult than he originally thought. I could kinda see it on his face but he never said anything and certainly never complained. Good guy and I tipped him well for helping me with my plumbing issue and spending pretty much his entire Saturday afternoon doing it.

    We had a great experience with The Scottish Plumber. After another vendor did a little pipe rodding but didnt fix the problem we called Scottish Plumber based on their good online ratings. They had appointments within a day or two and sent out REAL professionals that got to the source of our clog and finally fixed it. We were happy with all the professionals that came out, timing of their service and cost! Give them a call!

    This is a review of The Scottish Plumber serving the Chicagoland area.....HIRE THEM! Their communication, pricing, rapid response, and expert knowledge will solve not just your immediate problem, but prevent future issues by following their advice.We have a 68 year old home with original metal waste pipes. Everything works but, the pipes are not as efficient as modern PVC pipes. The angles are 90 degrees (not two 45 degree bends) and the indoor cleanouts have not been opened since 1955!!Since the pandemic, we use our kitchen a lot. The kitchen drain drops down to the basement, goes 90 degrees outside, then an immediate additional 90 degree turn to travel towards the main line sewer. This is not code today but was when the house was built. As time marches on, the useful inside size of the waste pipe gets smaller due to corrosion- this reduces the flow rate. That means it is tougher to make root-killing chemicals do their job, as well as move boiling water (after just cooking pasta) down the pipe. Every now and then, we get a slow drain....I dont wait for it to become stopped- when I hear the kitchen sink gurgling when I am doing laundry- it is time to act.I emailed The Scottish Plumber and stated it was not an emergency, but I would like someone to stop out in the next few days. I received a response phone call within three minutes confirming some details of the problem. We made an appointment for 2.5 days later, and then I received a text message confirming. I scheduled for their $99 open the drain service as I had an easily accessible outside cleanout right next to a power outlet right along the driveway. We scheduled a two hour window on when I should be home.The morning before our appointment, The Scottish Plumber called and texted stating that a technician was in the area on another call, will be finishing early, and would I like to do the service later this morning or just stick with the next day. Since I was home, I said Yes, stop by today, please..Tom showed up one hour later at exactly 10:00 am. By 10:02 am he had the cleanout opened up, was asking me to turn on the water to the bathtub, and confirming that the drain flow was slow. By 10:10 am, he had his sewer rod machine working to clear the obstruction. He even pulled out a couple of small tree roots. By 10:15, water flow was fully restored.I went in to turn off the bathtub- when I came out he had already stored his tools back in his truck. He then gave me sound advice about dealing with that inefficient waste pipe- in my case, he suggested filling up the sink every couple of weeks and then pulling the plug- the sudden 15 gallons of water rushing down would keep the pipes working.Tom left our driveway at 10:23 am. Literally, the man arrived, solved the problem, gave me wisdom, and left 23 minutes later.I am keeping his card and already put it in my phones calendar to call The Scottish Plumber next year (same week) to grind up tree roots.My previous experience was with the ABC plumbing company that advertises on television. They have shiny trucks, nice equipment, etc. but their solution was for us to spend $14,000 dollars for a new PVC waste drain from our house to the Villages sewer line. So I am pulling the plug on those guys.Ill stick with The Scottish Plumber.

    These guys just did a lot of work for us inside and outside. They stuck to the estimate without trying to push further add-ons. They were clean and professional and did excellent work. They finished the job in a very short amount of time and made an adjustment I asked for promptly. This could have been a nightmare, but it wasn’t. I am very pleased.

    We called Scottish Plumber because everywhere else kept giving us different answers and quoting us thousands of dollars for a fix they werent sure of. Colin from Scottish Plumber listened to us and kept testing out our bathrooms until he found the source of our leaks. He was honest and kind and really did his best to make sure we felt like both bathrooms were tested thoroughly. I will only be working with Scottish Plumber going forward. We just wanted an honest answer about how to fix our home, and Colin did that for us.

    Frank the tech was on time, polite and very knowledgeable! I myself have been involved with rehabbing 100 year-old buildings for 33 years, and I am not usually easily impressed--Frank really impressed me! He explained all the features and benefits of the hydro jetting process as it relates to my 102-year-old clay tile and cast iron sewer and kitchen drainage systems. He left me with a reasonably-priced estimate. I have had some great experiences with Scottish Plumber over the past few years--Frank certainly carried on the high level of professional service that I have come to expect from Scottish Plumber!

    I had excellent customer service from the beginning of making the appointment to having the work done! I was very pleased with the company contacting me and staying on top of the appointment. My Tech Troy was absolutely exceptional! He was very knowledgeable and helpful in making me understand what needed to be done. He went over and beyond to make sure everything was rodded properly because I had some complex roots but he gave me a 30 day warranty to come back if additional rodding needed to be done within that time frame. I am truly a satisfied customer and recommend this company and Troy for their excellent ans exceptional service. Thank you again for everything!

    At about 6:30 in the evening I had my toilet and bathroom sink backing up into my bathtub. Called three different places the Scottish plumber was the only one that was willing to come out that evening. I only have one bathroom.Matt and Frankie did an outstanding job they were able to get to my house within in a couple of hours of me calling, and work for about 3 hours plus to get my main line opened up. They did a good job they were professional and they cleaned up before they left.I would not hesitate to call the Scottish plumber again thank you Matt and Frankie for a great job you guys are the best.

    We had an emergency basement floor drain backup. On recommendation from our son (as we are new residents to the area), we called the Scottish plumbers. While we did have to wait a few days for them, we had some use of our water. The thing that most impressed us was that after two visits they could not find the blockage but we were NOT charged for those calls.     We called The Scottish Plumber on Saturday when we noticed our kitchen sinks backing up; the Company was able to schedule a Drain Tech for Monday between 8-10 am. Alex, a Drain Technician, showed up Monday; professional, knowledgable and efficient. He fixed the problem in less than an hour. The only thing I would say, and I dont have a lot of experience in this area, the fee of $249 seemed kinda high. We thought about hiring a Handy Man to handle this problem, which would have cost probably 50% less, but we thought it made more sense to go with experts. So I give high marks across the board, except for the cost.

    We moved into a new place where we instantly encountered some headache inducing plumbing issues. Colin came by and gave us a free estimate and then later came by to fix the issue. He was great! He explained everything to us including why he thought hed be ripping us off to do additional work that had been recommended to us by another plumber.     On the day before the holiday, we had a leak in our pipe that flooded the house. When we shut the main line to the house off, it broke and we were not able to turn the water back on after the pipe was repaired.Colin the plumber came to our house and realized he didnt have the parts needed to do the repair and all of the plumbing suppliers were closed already. He came up with a creative solution that only an experienced plumber could have come up with. I fear most plumbers would have said they dont have the part and would have left us with no water for the holiday.I am so impressed by his desire to help and his creative thinking.He was able to get our water turned back on. I would have paid any amount to get this done, but their pricing was totally fair, especially considering it was an emergency call.I will only use them in the future.

Service was prompt, professional, solved my issue and cost less than half of what I expected. Troy was the tech that serviced my job. He did a great job.     Weve used The Scottish Plumber twice now. They are very prompt to respond and provide usefully information. They will tell you up front if there is a better way to handle a situation rather than come out, charge you a service fee and not be able to help you at that time. They are honest and you never feel like they sell you on more than what you need. They are a little more expensive than some other places but you pay for quality and honesty. They were efficient with their time, friendly, and cleaned up completely when finished. Greg and Chris were great. Ill use them again.

    I had a sewer line back-up yesterday and opted for the after hours service so it could be taken care of ASAP. My sewer line has given me problems over the years mainly because of big trees near line. Adam , the Tech was able to get their near dusk , very professional ,and after working from both ends of line through clean-outs eventually located the problem and cleared out the roots. I applaud his diligence and after several hours working in the dark solved my issue. Scottish Plumber has been my go to service for Last 5 years after 20 plus years of dealing with others. They have been able to get to the root of the Problem after working at it where other companies have wanted to replace the line at great cost or not been able to solve issues.     After noticing a small leak from my water heater, I started calling around to plumbers. The Scottish Plumber were able to come out same day and provide a quote that was competitive with the others I had received. I appreciated how straight forward Greg was in identifying additional work that needed to be done and we talked through all my questions before finalizing the quote and moving forward with the job. Greg then jumped into action, ran to pick up a water heater from the plumbing supply warehouse and I had a new unit installed within two hours. Very professional, quick and clean service. Will definitely use them again.

    I hired The Scottish Plumber for a large sewer repair in my front yard. Chuck and Frankie spent a lot of time diagnosing the problem and explaining exactly what they were going to do to fix it. They obtained a permit later the same day, and work started promptly. The workers, Fernando, Malik, and Hugo in particular, were great! They dug some 10 feet into the ground through tree roots and in hot weather, and again explained what they were doing at every step. (They put on booties over their shoes every time they went into the house. I know its a small gesture, but I was so pleased with this.) The work was completed over 3 days, including inspection by the village. (And, I now have an access pipe for future cleaning and maintenance.) The crew also took care of a few other miscellaneous repairs inside our home and made some suggestions for future improvements. I spoke to both Jessica and Amy over the phone and I was very pleased with their professionalism, as well.
