    If i could i would give 10 stars. My air conditioning went out the day before the 4th of july in the hot and humid conditions. I knew that this was going to be a pricey bill due to being a holiday and having someone on call to come out. I tried to call several HVAC companies but non would get back to me.I then discovered this business and Josh came out immediately and fixed the problem within minuets and it didn’t cost an arm and a leg. My family and I are so thankful Josh helped us on a holiday. I cant thank you enough!! Deft earned my business.

    My air conditioner went out during what most people would call a heat wave; I call it a HUMIDITY WAVE! I called Goodberlet Home Services for assistance and they sent someone out the same day!     I had called Goodberlet out for a yearly furnace check, and it ended up that we had some issues due to the age of our furnace (20+ years). Our technician was incredibly helpful, explained the situation fully and had a team out installing a new furnace within 2 days. In the midst of some cold weather, the communication and timeliness were greatly appreciated. We will be using them solely for our future needs.

    Next day service on a leaking water heater was great the most impressive thing was after pulling out the washer to remove the water heater Nick ask for a mop to clean the dirty floor under the washer and behind the old water heater.     Josh, the serviceman that was sent for our furnace was very polite, helpful. and respectful. All we were charged for was a service fee because it was only a wire that wasnt in contact. He was upfront and honest from the very beginning. I felt a little silly because it was only a wire but he downplayed it like it happens all the time.

    Talk about service - GOODBERLET is the BEST!! Another service provider had been to my home 3 times in the last 2 months & couldnt find/fix the problem I was having with my furnace. Josh was here only 10 mins and was able to detect the problem; but not only that, he, thank goodness, was able to detect that I had several gas leaks around my furnace & fixed them! Am I relieved!!! Josh was efficient, thorough, attentive, & communicative - he made sure I understood what the problems were and explained to me what I can do to remedy the issue in the future. Recently, our gas furnace was not working properly so a couple of technicians were dispatched at different times to our house to diagnose the problem. We were given a chance to replace some old parts or get a new furnace. There was no pressure on their part and left the decision to us. Because of Robert P’s extensive experience & knowledge in the products, we decided to replace our furnace. It was done on time and neatly!     Air conditioning - emergencyNot long ago my air conditioning was not working correctly. It kept shutting down and turning off when it got really warm outside. I came across Elm Home Services and gave them a call. Everyone I talked to was very polite. The technician came out in a timely manner and was very nice. He seemed very knowledgeable. After performing some tests and evaluating the system he found the issue. A part went bad that was causing the coil to freeze and causing the system to shut down. He was able to get the part and replace it. After the work was complete I was able to be at comfortable at home once again. I felt the pricing was fair and recommend this company to anyone with similar needs.

    Josh presents himself well which is a great reflection on Goodberlet. I have done business with this company for many years and for many reasons. The most recent visit was for my AC preventative maintenance. Josh discovered a part which needed attention and not only explained the issue, but what occurs when the part fails. Josh replaced the part and also showed me the issues with the failing part after it was removed so I could better understand. I have no complaints with Goodberlet, only consistent praise and trust.

    Just had our new furnace installed. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. They were prompt, courteous very polite and very efficient. I would highly recommend this company.I at first called a well known by advertisement company it turns out they did not service my area. This company worked with my work schedule.After making the appointment I read the reviews and was very skeptical. So I right away I scheduled other companies for a quote.     We have used Goodberlet (formally known as Elm) through the years. Air went out 4/23/22. Jason came out 4/25. 4/28 new A/C unit to replace our 30 year old unit. Monday 5/9 after 8pm A/C was not working. 5/10 called for appointment in the morning. Jason did a thorough check to see what the problem was (window of 1-5 came at 1:45). The Nest thermostat was bad (8 years old). I installed a new thermostat with the guidance of Jason with no problem. One day later I am happily comfortable in my 70 degree house with our crazy Chicago weather of 90 degrees.

    Elm Heating & Cooling is a very reliable and fair company. They are not the cheapest company out there, but they are not the most expensive either. I would say they are middle of the road. However, what really impressed me was their service people. Elm has replaced my furnace and A/C in the last few years and also installed a generator. Every time I get scheduled PM service, the same service guys usually come out. Its really great that they all remember individual customers and equipment. They are all very knowledgeable and offer tips and advice about anything, not just heating and cooling. If anyone is looking for a good honest company, then I would recommend Elm.

    Had a problem with furnace flame going out before heat reached set temperature. Problem was intermittent. Came right out same day. Very important in midwinter. Service person T.J. was great! Recommended changing the pressure sensor part. Came back the next day and installed. T.J. was fantastic.

    We needed a boiler tune up and I had a question as to why one of my radiators wasnt working. Bob H came and found that a previous water meter technician had turned it off. He showed me where the crank was for the next time it might happen, gave our boiler a great tune up, and was really polite, well-mannered, and professional the entire time. Weve had Elm Heating for as long as weve lived here, about 15 years. They dont work on commission, so they arent interested in selling you anything you dont need.     Our service pro was Matthew H. and I could not have asked for a more helpful, understanding and knowledgeable representative.We were out of heat for nearly 3 days dealing with Nicor and almost had to wait a 4th day after a horrible technician from Trade Winds heating & air conditioning came through (with an unpleasant attitude) and wanted nearly $300 dollars for not fixing anything! I told the man to leave immediately.We have tenants upstairs with children and called for emergency service from a different company. It was 30 minutes later (very fast) nearly 11:00pm and very cold outside when Matt arrived to look at our boiler. He was kind, respectful and understood severity of the situation. Within 25 minutes he was able to diagnose the problem and fix it! Elm Heating and Cooling was available when other Nicor contractors were not. At a time when we needed them most!
